I tried Game when it first opened, and I enjoyed it. $20 burgers, though, are a bit steep for me, and so I've shied away from going here.
This year, I was lured back in by the discounts of Burger Week: the Burger Week deals that Game offers are second to none in both value and in quality. As a burger aficionado, I had mapped out a Burger Week itinerary for myself of five different restaurants to try. I started at Game... and ended up going to Game all five days instead. I couldn't stop myself.
This place does a variety of exotic burgers and - more importantly - does them well. By which I mean "medium." And juicy, and delicious.
If you're going to charge some of the highest prices in a region, you'd better be among the best. Game is, so I can't begrudge them the cost. They're worth it.
Rabbit, bison, elk, wagyu, ostrich, kangaroo - you can eat a lot of interesting animals here. The chef understands how to let the nuance of the meat shine through. The fries are a bit of an afterthought, but they're excellent, too.
When you're in the mood for a truly exquisite burger, Game is my pick for best in Louisville.
