Yelp
Great food and service. A very unique experience in terms of the meat options. The walls are covered in taxidermy, adding to the distinctive atmosphere.

Yelp
I think I've reviewed before, quite a while ago. We've come for every special occasion for some time & I think it's official, my husband has had every item on the menu! This last item was Rabbit (not pictured), unfortunately it personally has been his least favorite but that is no one's fault! Just doesn't like it. Service is always fantastic as always & on top of it! Glad they weren't extremely busy so it was a relaxing dinner, I suppose we chose the right time! It was my husband's birthday & his best friend brought him Oreo Dessert from home to share! Thought we'd make the staffs night & shared it with our waitress & the kitchen staff, they were VERY appreciative! Thanks for always providing wonderful dishes!

Yelp
This place is really something special. Best burgers I've ever had and I'll say it forever. My go to is the Bison burger, with a side of duck fat fries and Brussel sprouts. This place really provides you with so many options of meat to try, and a well put together sampler you can purchase to try a little bit of everything. Staff is very attentive; the place itself is a little smaller so you may be waiting on a busy weekend for a table but it's always worth it! This place is a must try to anyone who loves a good burger; and really want something that breaks the mold!

Yelp
One of the most unique meals I've ever had! The walls are covered in taxidermy, adding to the distinctive atmosphere. My husband and I were traveling when he spotted the menu and was instantly intrigued. The frog legs were incredibly tender and delicious, and all the meats were unique and flavorful. Definitely a memorable dining experience!

Kristina C.

Yelp
Nice little hole in the wall place, very friendly staff! The nachos and frog legs were delicious! I got the slider trio to try a different variety, they were okay. The chorizo was my favorite, the other two I wasn't too fond of because of the texture. If you're looking for something out of your comfort zone you found it

Yelp
Great burger spot! Check them out for Lou burger week--any other time check them out for a classic or exotic burger Indoor/outdoor seating, eclectic feel, perfect for a date or catching up with friends

Yelp
We went at opening time and it was probably the same temperature inside that it was outside, about 50 degrees. We wore our coats the whole time. The food was hot, fresh and service was outstanding. I would want to try coming in after they have been open for awhile next time and see if the temperature is more moderate. 5 stars for the food, just took off a star because the temperature was uncomfortably cold even with the coats on.

Chuck S.

Yelp
Walk in during burger week. Was seated and was told if a bigger party came we would have to move. We offered to sit at the bar and they told us the bar was closed during burger week?!? We ordered the regular burger and it came out quick but was not hot?? On a week where you could gain customers, you lost this couple on our first visit! Terrible! Reply to owner's post:: First, who says if larger party comes in we will have to move you. Should have left right then! Burger was not cold, but it was NOT hot. More like room temperature. Also no seasoning at all. Revuews are made for a reason and not to hurt business but hopefully can do better!

Yelp
Let's talk about the "scotch eggs." I have never had a scotch egg before, but I know what they are. I've watched enough Food Network at 2am to know a proper scotch egg is a boiled egg wrapped in sausage, breaded, and deep-fried like God intended. What did I get? A deep-fried egg. Just... an egg. With some breadcrumbs. On a plate. Next to a piece of bacon like it's trying to apologize. There was no sausage. No meat cocoon. No crispy shell of savory glory. It was like someone read a tweet about scotch eggs once and just kind of winged it. I wake up in the middle of the night whispering, "those are not scotch eggs..." I was so emotionally damaged by this egg fraud I can't even remember what I ordered for my main course. It was either some kind of game meat or just the physical manifestation of disappointment. My wife got the bison burger--she described it as "if cardboard had a Pinterest recipe." BUT Our server? Immaculate. Kind. Helpful. Radiant. She gets 5 stars and a standing ovation. Unfortunately, Yelp doesn't let me average that out.

Yelp
If you like trying exotic meats then this is the place! Their frog legs were juicy and meaty! We tried different kinds of meatballs like yak and antelope and they were all sooo tasty The service was good! And the restaurant is just minutes away from downtown! They have different types of food and regular food if you're not into exotic meats
google avatar

Yelp
Interesting choice of meats for a burger joint. Had the kangaroo and not knowing what if was supposed to taste like was pleased. Everyone in our party got a different protein and everyone was happy with the burgers. Would have been nice to have been sat inside the bar rather than the tented area. Was a little cold, but they did try to heat the area. The service was on point. Will be back, maybe next time I'll have the rabbit or the elk.

Yelp
Came here for the first time during burger week and it was awesome. Brought my son while he was visiting. We tried Yak, Antelope, Elk, and Kangaroo meatballs. All cooked perfectly. I went for my tried and true Waygu burger. He had Yak burger. Very enjoyable.

Daniel L.

Yelp
Hooooooollly crap Hooooooollly crap Super good I can not believe I escaped fort knox and got to eat kangaroo afterwords

Yelp
We've been here twice now and really enjoy this place if you are looking to be adventurous and try new things. The first time we visited we did not know it was burger week and our options were very limited but the food was great. We knew we wanted to come back to try different meats so we made it back recently to try it out! We sat inside, which had a cabin feel with antlers on the wall. The service was great early Friday evening. The waitress told us to find our own seat and she was quick to take orders and tell us about the specials. My husband ordered the antelope burger and I ordered the yak burger, both with everything on it. We shared a basket of fries with habanero ranch. My husband and I really liked the antelope burger. It was our favorite between those 2. The yak burger was maybe too 'gamey' for me, but I bet someone else would enjoy it. It just wasn't my thing. We will definitely be back to try other meats!
google avatar

Kayla P.

Yelp
This was first time here and the food was really good!My god mother I ordered each ordered a different meat and split them I ordered the antelope and it had a different texture but I loved the caramelized onions and aioli. She ordered the kangaroo and it was good reminded me of beef. The service wasn't that great which is why I only gave it 4 stars but I would come back. The also have outdoor seating and it's heated for chilly days that was pretty cute.

Yelp
I've been eating at Game for years. This is the first time that I was extremely disappointed. I ordered wagyu meatballs and two of them were raw. They were completely raw and I ate some. Made me sick. Didn't think I needed to check my food. Our server was sweet but she didn't really know what to do. She asked me did I want her to take it away. Of course, it's raw meat. I still paid for my meal after eating raw meat. Simply taking $6 off the receipt does not suffice for eating raw food. I asked for a manager and no one came..

Yelp
I am not an adventurous person but this as a great burger spot! The waitress was so helpful and had an amazing recommendations. My husband loves the kangaroo and it was cooked perfectly. I tried the Bison and it was so good, so is the Elk. I great spot in Louisville! I will be back.

Yelp
Easy access off of Lexington Road near the intersection with Grinstead Drive from I-64. I wish the parking lot was bigger or better configured to accommodate driving around the lot since it can be cramped and reach a bottleneck at times. I popped in here for dinner and scanned a QR code taped to the tabletop to look at the drink menu. I settled on the Country Boy apple pie cider $7 which was light and only slightly sweet. I went with the venison sandwich, prepared medium, from the Chef's Recommendations portion of the menu and a side of sweet potato fries. The food came to the table fairly quickly, served on a rustic wooden board, and looked appealing. The sandwich was dressed with tomato and greens, as well as blue cheese crumbles as a topping and an aioli sauce on a delicious pretzel bun. The burger was juicy and had a great flavor. It had no gamey taste or smell whatsoever. The fries were cooked perfectly with fluffy interior and crispy well seasoned exterior. My server was fantastic and the food was delicious. I would love to return to sample kangaroo, alligator, and elk.

Yelp
Wow! What a cool experience! We met friends for dinner at Game, and really enjoyed the food and experience! Great prices for the food too. Individual reviews: The meet takes the cake: the meatballs, sliders, and burger were DELICIOUS. The table loved the bone marrow, though that wasn't my thing. I will say, I wasn't impressed with either salad. I had the seasonal salad and my partner had the grilled ceasar. The dressings weren't great and they were too dressed IMO. We also ordered dessert, and WOW! SO good.

Eric R.

Yelp
Really good food. Cool vibe. Waiter was very knowledgeable and helped our group figure out the best meats for our taste. The fries (both sweet potato and traditional) were outstanding. Would highly recommend

Yelp
We left disappointed. To sum it up, this place is a weird, overpriced burger joint. Please note, parking is parallel parking and very limited. Seating is also limited and we froze during our visit, despite sitting in the main area. Our server was nice and attentive. We ordered the nacho appetizer, chefs meat choice was venison and chorizo. We received our appetizer quickly. The pico de gallo tasted very fresh, but the meat was not very good. You can order a variety of game in the form of meatballs or burgers. We ordered the yak burger and kangaroo burger. They had a special of swai fish sandwich so we ordered it. Despite the prices being so high, you're paying around $20 just for the sandwich. If you want a side, you have to pay extra. The swai wasn't very "meaty" and wasn't very flavorful. The burgers were cooked well, but I wonder how much of the ground meat was actual wild game or if it has some beef filler to make the meat go further. The menu says all game is sourced from local farms but most swai is imported from Vietnam and I'm not sure where they're slaughtering kangaroos from in Louisville. Also, our food was served on wooden boards. While that may appear neat, I couldn't help but wonder how clean it actually was since wood is so porous and these had clearly been used quite a bit given all the blemishes and cuts in them. All in all, I'm happy to check this restaurant off my collection board but do not recommend and will not return.

Yelp
Had the most incredible meal Valentine's weekend. Stumbled upon this spot by happen chance. The owner Tim was so hospitable and welcoming - we really had a true farm to table experience... bison, elk, venison, and antelope on the menu! The restaurant is in a charming historic home overlooking the Ohio river. We will be back. What a gem!

Yelp
My roommate in college told me about this place it was something new I have never tried before my favorite thing to try was the kangaroo and the yak meatballs I made two YouTube vlog videos of this place I highly recommend this place if you want to try something new
google avatar

Yelp
We decided to give Game a try because we were up for trying something a little new. The bone marrow appetizer was our favorite! We sat at the bar, and it was a very relaxed environment. Definitely a casual spot to try something new.

Yelp
We came here on Monday for lunch around 12:30-1PM. The place is super cute and fits the "game" theme. We sat in the covered patio because it was a beautiful day. I ordered the "build your own" burger with wagyu meat, cheese, grilled onions, and pickles- all on a pretzel bun. The pretzel bun tasted homemade! It was delicious! I got the truffle aoli on the side. Also delicious! And the brussel sprouts were like nothing I had ever had (an Asian twist to them!) Service was great. We loved that you can customize your meat! We will be back. A little on the pricy side for burger and a side but worth it.

Yelp
My first time and really enjoyed my visit. Parking is a bit of an issue as the lot is small. It is a small restaurant with big flavor! The staff was excellent, the vibe is super casual and the food is delish! This is the place to go to try rabbit, elk, yak, Bison and more. There are several options for the timid taster as well as the adventurous taster.

Yelp
I stopped in here for burger week with my boyfriend and his mom and we were not disappointed! This was the best burger I've had for burger week by far. My only complaint regarding the burger itself was how pink it was.... I have never had wagyu beef before so I was unsure if it was supposed to be a bit pink, so it threw me off, but it was only pink in one part so I continued eating and it was truly delicious. We also tried the truffle waffle fries, brussel sprouts, and nachos. The brussel sprouts were definitely the best, followed by the flavorful truffle fries, and the nachos were still good but our least favorite of the three. The prices were reasonable and the place is cute and quaint. The service was good but honestly we weren't checked on very much and things we asked for were forgotten several times.... She was still very sweet and I chalked it up to them probably being busier than usual, but it did end up making our overall service take a little bit longer than it otherwise would've in my opinion. Nonetheless it was super tasty and I'd love to come back and try some of their other meats!

Yelp
Smaller dining area, friendly staff, larger menu than I was expecting for a restaurant that will grill you a kangaroo burger... I stuck with angus beef bacon cheese burger with fries in duck fat and it was superb! Highly recommend this place for the burgers. Absolutely will be going back regularly.

Yelp
Stumbled upon this place while searching for lunch. Once I saw grilled romaine salad on the menu I knew this was it! Then I got to build your own burger and it was a done deal. I decided to build my own burger because I know what I want. I chose the yak medium well with American cheese, bone marrow aioli, pickles, tomato, raw onion , and mixed greens on an onion bun. Then I chose French fries and had them fried in duck fat. The Caesar salad had just the right char on it. I wish they would have served it on a different vessel as it was a little difficult to eat. The burger came and it smelled so good. It was juicy and the aioli was flavorful. I thoroughly enjoyed the burger. Fried had a great flavor and just enough salt. 10/10 would visit again.

Yelp
I have driven past many times. Finally stopped by for lunch. The interesting part of choosing one of the wild game options is quite a little task. I opted for Yak and Antelope meatballs with fries cooked in duck fat. I was pleasantly surprised that they both were delicious and different enough to feel good about the choice . I won't lie duck fat fries weren't worth 6 bucks. Next trip I'll get a burger of some wild beast with plain fries.

Yelp
Love the burgers! I've tried multiple combinations of the build your own and this year's burger week special, and it's always good. Bison and wagyu are favorites. Even tried kangaroo!
google avatar

Ali B.

Yelp
Game is best described and reviewed by its title. Are you game to try the ostrich, camel, bunny, kangaroo, .. etc ? The variety is great, the prices correspond and reflect to what they serve. Is it the best burgers or meatballs or you will have ? No. It is okay? A bit better than that but not full blown 5 stars. Overall I am a fan and recommend this place.
google avatar

Daniel B.

Yelp
I tried Game when it first opened, and I enjoyed it. $20 burgers, though, are a bit steep for me, and so I've shied away from going here. This year, I was lured back in by the discounts of Burger Week: the Burger Week deals that Game offers are second to none in both value and in quality. As a burger aficionado, I had mapped out a Burger Week itinerary for myself of five different restaurants to try. I started at Game... and ended up going to Game all five days instead. I couldn't stop myself. This place does a variety of exotic burgers and - more importantly - does them well. By which I mean "medium." And juicy, and delicious. If you're going to charge some of the highest prices in a region, you'd better be among the best. Game is, so I can't begrudge them the cost. They're worth it. Rabbit, bison, elk, wagyu, ostrich, kangaroo - you can eat a lot of interesting animals here. The chef understands how to let the nuance of the meat shine through. The fries are a bit of an afterthought, but they're excellent, too. When you're in the mood for a truly exquisite burger, Game is my pick for best in Louisville.

Jane P.

Yelp
The food here was good. Be prepared to try all the different kind if meat. First of all, I am not a huge fan of gamy meat, but I still really wanted to try this place. I am glad I have it a chance because the food was good. My favorite thing was the Scottish egg! Seriously the best Scottish egg! My husband loved Scottish eggs so I have had my fair share of them from many restaurants and this one was by far my favorite! The bone marrow was good but not the best one ever. It was just okay. I wish it did have more marrow in the middle, but still good enough. I loved all the meatballs because you can sample all the different meats. I loved the burgers they were so good! We did not finish everything because we ordered way too much so I had to pack my burger but the burger was still good the next morning! Loved the experience and would recommend if you are a true foodie!
google avatar

Lora C.

Yelp
WOW! Blown away by Game restaurant! Went there on a Friday night @5:15PM and glad we got there before the rush that was in full swing by 6PM. We sat at the bar and both ordered the most delicious bison burger I've ever had! My husband can't quit raving about it also. They also have Atrium Kolsh (probably not spelling that right), which paired perfectly with the burger. Get the truffle aioli on the side to dip your burger and fries in. Really enjoyed the staff and the owner & his wife. Nice folks. The only thing you need to be prepared for in the winter is the cold. This is a rustic style place and it runs chilly in the cold. Can't wait to go back.
google avatar

Natalie E.

Yelp
Great service and variety of good. If you're adventurous and a foodie, this is the place for you. The bone marrow was delicious and so was the yak, wagyu, and bison meat.
google avatar

Hillary D.

Yelp
The best part of this restaurant is the variety of options available. I truly do enjoy how the exotic options the menu has to offer. Everything was amazing, from the service to the fact that game has its own parking.
google avatar

Mandy H.

Yelp
Love this place! Each burger is very unique and seasoned to fit the style of where the meat came from. I have been here several times and have had the wagu, elk, and recently the yak burger. They were all so different and so good! Highly recommend if you want to try something new and different
google avatar

Ken M.

Yelp
I love coming to Game. Food like you will never get any where else. If you aren't sure of what to try, order the meatballs to sample. You can order burgers any way you'd like, but I promise you the chef's recommended versions are FREAKING AWESOME! The only drawback is the severe lack of parking. It's sometimes scary trying to get in. Thank goodness there is a small but spectacular beer list to calm you down. They dropped Alpaca. Before you say anything, that was my favorite meat and beyond delicious. Today we had Wild Boar and Antelope. Spend the $3 and get the fries cooked in Duck Fat. And the corn. Good God- get the corn. I've tried recipes and other places and I've never, ever had anything as close to heaven as the corn
google avatar

Katie B.

Yelp
Oh my word, this place is awesome!! First off, the menu options are unusual, in a good way! I was intrigued by the kangaroo burger but couldn't bring myself to order it. Thankfully, my daughter wanted to try the kangaroo and elk meatballs, so I got to taste it. It was good! The elk meatball was delicious!! I ordered a venison burger on a pretzel bun and it was very good! My husband got the special, which was a bison burger with crunchy peanut butter and jam. It was fantastic! The hand cut fries were the BEST I've ever had. I don't know if it was the duck fat they were fried in or not but I would eat those everyday, if I could. Our server was very helpful with our order. The actual restaurant is smaller but so cool!! I loved the pictures of cuts of meat on the animals, the deer mounted on the walls...it's just a really cool place and I wish we could eat there again before we leave!
google avatar

Yelp
It was fun to try some exotic game meat, and I expected it to be rather hoity-toity but it is like a wonderful dive bar. Staff seemed cool, everybody is very chill and food is clearly made in the kitchen with intention.
google avatar

Jackie W.

Yelp
Love Game! Very comfortable seating inside. Waiting for a table on Friday night wasn't too bad. Plenty of draft beers to choose from while you wait. We tried the elk burger, truffle fries and scotch eggs with bone marrow aeoli. The elk was seasoned perfectly and paired with brie. Such an interesting and flavorful combo. We didn't need to wait long for our food. Portions are plentiful. It's busy, but our waiter was very attentive. Our hostess helped behind the bar as well. Staff are very friendly. Cannot wait to return and try all the exotic meats on the menu!
google avatar

Mary Kate E.

Yelp
The concept is cool, and I appreciate all of the different options they have as far as game goes, but I will say that I was hoping for something a bit more creative with the meats. It seems the majority of the menu consists of burgers. My husband and I split an antelope burger and we also got some meat balls for an appetizer. The shoe string fries were delicious. We added a couple of sauces as well to enhance the flavors. Service was good. We sat outside, and enjoyed the overcast day. The server kept up with us even though we were outside and it was a bit slow to the start of her shift. I appreciate that she was good to check in as needed. I would recommend anyone who dines here to split something because the burgers are huge for one person. I can easily see this being a good place for people to split an app + burger followed by having a couple of drinks. Sitting outside is a different experience than inside. Inside is more sports games on the televisions, and probably better suited for bigger crowds. Outside is next to the road, and when the road isn't busy, you can relax without too much chatter going on around you. I am sure it is super busy when it is later in the day, but not when we were there. Parking is a bit limited. I wish you the best when you try to find it. I don't have any suggestions, other than get there early to secure a spot.

Yelp
Tried Game with some friends, and we had a blast! The service was super friendly and helpful. The food was phenomenal! Trying all the different meats was so fun, and the chef pairings of the meats was spot on! We sat inside the main restaurant; it was cozy. Parking was rough though!!

Yelp
Game is such a fantastic burger spot that flies under the radar. Really, it's something unique and different and shouldn't be taken for granted. I admit that I likely fell into that last category until recently. All of my previous visits have been spectacular, but it has been years since I last dined there. But last week, during lunchtime, I found myself in the vicinity and decided to enjoy its delicious burgers once more. I looked up my previous review and saw that I preferred the wild boar meatballs, so I decided to order the wild boar burger with the chef's recommended fix-ins, which include greens, tomato, goat cheese, cranberry jalapeno jam, on an everything bun. The online ordering was easy, and I had my order roughly 20 minutes after order. Yes. So much yes. It was cooked perfectly, and all of the toppings worked so well together. Loved the everything bun. I also got some duck fat fries, a previous favorite as well. I will say that I wish there had been more duck fat on the fries, but still, these were pretty fantastic. These burgers are a bit more expensive than other burgers around town, but you're paying for quality and one-of-a-kind ingredients. Definitely don't skip on Game.

Yelp
The food was fantastic and unique and was a fun dining experience. Can't wait to go back and try more!

Yelp
Consistently solid and unique dining choice in Louisville. The burger/sandwich selection is top tier and the Brussels sprouts and truffle fries are phenomenal. I have never had a flatbread I liked here so avoid. They have a limited cocktail menu but there are wines and beers on draft. Staff are super nice and the atmosphere is rustic and down to earth.

Yelp
Great spot for some amazing American quality meats and service. It's a small place (seems like it was probably a fast food restaurant previously), and while it's not particularly a fancy place, the food is amazing, rich, and super tasty. They have a nice collection of standard and exotic meats (depending on what you're used to), including bison, kangaroo, and frog legs. We got the frog legs - nicely battered and seasoned, crispy, bone marrow (super juicy on the inside and crusted with seasoning and cheese), with asparagus and each a burger ( I got the kangaroo). The kangaroo burger is fairly mushy (cooked more rare than well), but is an interesting combination of flavor and texture. I've had camel before and I'd say they're fairly similar. Would definitely come here again!

Yelp
I recently tried Game for the first time. There were so many things on the menu that I wanted to try. If you're interested in exotic meats - I love that you can order a variety of small meatball sizes. It gives you the opportunity to try several at one time. I got the fried green tomato pimento cheese burger with no bun. I loved the tartness of the green tomato with the richness of the pimento cheese. The brussel sprouts were good but they were a little bit hard. I like them with a little crunch but these were hard. We got the s'mores dessert and unfortunately, it fell flat for me. It didn't look like some of the pictures on here. The textures and flavors just didn't vibe for me. There's so much on the menu that I wanted to try, so I'll definitely be back.
