I went to Game Terminal for a private event with my coworkers. Overall, this place is a ton of fun and great for group events or just hanging out to play video games!
Let's start with the good things. The decor and vibe of this place is absolutely outstanding. You walk inside, and immediately you get that vibe of old-school arcades with all the fun lighting, cool sounds from the cabinets and pinball machines and music. I'm a huge video game can and really miss arcades, so this vibe is just so awesome to me.
For pinball lovers, this is heaven! I have never seen this many pinball machines under one roof. There are literally wall-to-wall machines that flank the massive arcade game selection. They had both old and new pinball games, which was great to see.
The arcade game selection is also awesome. It definitely skews more on the older side of things - lots of games from the '80s. The game selection is well-curated, and I played several games that I'd never seen before and ended up really enjoying.
The last thing I'll say on the games is the outdoor space is so rad. You walk outside to essentially a mirror image of the indoor space, but instead it's home to outdoor games like ping-pong, shuffleboard (!!!), and Cornhole. All are super fun and great to play with friends (duh!).
What let me down a bit on this place was the quality of food and overall experience of the private event here. To order drinks, you can't simply go up to the bar. Instead, you have to hung down your dedicated server to get drinks for you. This makes sense in theory, but is actually difficult and frustrating in practice. I had a hard time finding our busy server in the large space that GT is, and when I did find them it took a while to get a drink - around 15-20 minutes. I wish you could have a special wristband, and then order from one of the bars.
Also for private events, the food was a bit meh. The fiesta bar was weirdly arranged, and didn't have much flavor. I'm not expecting the best food ever (this is an arcade bar after all), it was just a bit disappointing.
Overall, if you're by yourself or with a small group of friends, I highly recommend checking out Game Terminal. It's off the beaten path, but well worth the effort. Play on!
