Best Bets for Dining in Downtown Nashville | Eater Nashville

"Live jazz is one of the main draws at this casual fine dining destination in the downtown Marriott Courtyard. But the oysters, mushroom risotto, and prime rib know how to hold their own. The sleek Art Deco-ish dining room gussied up in black and gold also serves a stellar duck confit empanada, peach bacon glazed pork chop, and New Zealand rack of lamb with chamomile gastrique." - Jackie Gutierrez-Jones

My family and I had the pleasure of celebrating Mother's Day dinner at Gannon's Nashville, and the experience exceeded our expectations. The food was exceptional, and the service was truly outstanding. The manager personally checked in at our table to ensure everything was to our satisfaction, and the owner took the time to introduce himself, adding a warm and personal touch that made us feel genuinely valued. Our server was attentive and professional, and the host was incredibly welcoming and kind. Live music was pleasant. If you haven't yet visited Gannon's, do yourself a favor—make a reservation and experience it for yourself. You won't be disappointed.

By far my favorite restaurant in Nashville! The waiter was very knowledgeable and very responsive. We asked for soda water because we got a stain on a white dress and he whipped out a tide stick! The owner came by to visit us and was very personable. I highly recommend the Prime Rib and the Boudin!! Also very supportive of our military!

Gannon’s is a staple for my husband and I now! The portions are amazing for the price, and this is one of the only restaurants in Nashville where I always leave full. The eggplant Olivia is LIFE CHANGING, and I dream about the lobster bisque. The staff are the nicest and always have good recommendations, but honestly, everything on the menu is fantastic. They have a full bar and can make any drink you’d like! Also, I’m not a huge dessert person, but I tell everyone I know to try the pecan pie. You won’t be disappointed!

Dined at the bar on this past Saturday night. Validated parking for $8 at 4th and commerce garage. Drinks were nice. Espresso martini was probably one of the best ones in Nashville. The band was good. Unfortunately my app was just ok. The meatballs definitely lacked flavor even after adding salt and pepper served warm. The meat was gritty texture. The Rockefeller oysters were good; the ham on there was TOO salty. The chicken piccata was great. My friends enjoyed there filets with mushrooms and onions. Each filet came with a whole roasted garlic bulb. I know what to get when I come back.

Wonderful experience, met Chef Gannon walking in to find out we are from same area, the Gulf Coast with ties to New Orleans and you can taste it in the food! We had dinner starting with the amazing Duck Empanadas with the yummy poblano sauce, the ceviche was fresh and tasty. Dinner was swordfish for me and cooked to perfection with shrimp, my husband had the prime rib and was blown away. We were so full we didn’t eat until the next day when we returned before our show at the Ryman for the delicious homemade meatballs layered and baked with yummy cheese and sauce and turtle soup with sherry. Loved this place, great Chef, wonderful and friendly staff with a beautiful Art Deco prohibition vibe and icing on the cake was the talented jazz band. Makes me want to come back to Nashville sooner.

My wife and I celebrated our 30th anniversary at Gannons. Our reservation was for 6:15. We arrived early and were seated immediately. The table had a Happy Anniversary sign waiting for us. We started with a Wedge salad. I had the filet with potatoes and vegetables. The steak was tender and perfectly seasoned. My wife had the Prime Rib with vegetables. We finished with the Deep fried Pecan Pie. Everything was delicious. The service was outstanding including serving us 2 glasses of champagne to celebrate. We had an outstanding experience!

THE RISOTTO WAS SO GOOD. The truffle, the cheese, the mushrooms, everything about it was delish. I recommend asking for less salt as the dishes were a little too salty for my liking but it was still great. Definitely recommend the risotto and creme bulee. Great server and the piano was amazing. Tuna tarture was also great. Love the appetizers so much!!

We got a recommendation from our bar tender at our hotel to go here on a Thursday night. The food was delicious but the music was so loud you could barely talk. Great vibe and music but they could have turned it down a bit more!

Yelp
A girlfriend and I came here for dinner. We are longtime locals. We were looking for a dinner spot near TPAC. I saw this restaurant on Yelp and it looked good but I was leery because it's in the Marriott hotel. We both loved it! First, the decor is a gorgeous art deco. There was a small band playing. Not too loudly. Tables aren't crowded (I hate that). Our wait person (Kirsten) was excellent. She described the food well, offered good food & wine suggestions and she was prompt and friendly. We ordered a few dishes to share to include the cesar salad (good, not over dressed), wild mushroom risotto appetizer (a little thick but very tasty), filet with mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts (perfectly cooked meat, creamy potatoes. I love Brussels sprouts and these were not good - overcooked & flavorless). We shared the barbecued shrimp with linguine (yum! Excellent!) and a side of roasted mushrooms (yum). We will definitely go back and bring our other gfs with us. There were other things on the menu that looked/sounded delicious...duck empanadas, pork chop, tartare. This would be a great spot for a date night. Btw, we parked at the pay lot on 4th across from hotel. The restaurant does validate that lot. It was an easy walk to TPAC. We had a 6:15 dinner reservation and an 8pm show. We left TPAC about 10:15. Parking was $8 after the dinner validation.

Yelp
Ambiance is great here, especially if you're looking for that speakeasy, Great Gatsby vibe. Loved that they had a local jazz ensemble playing piano, base and drums, it really added to the whole atmosphere. Our server Chelsea was great, very timely and quick. The manager of the house looked me up and down as to say I wasn't dressed nice enough even though I was in business casual and he only seemed to concern himself with larger "higher spend" tables. I watched him greet a few tables and ask how their experience was going but never once did he do that with us. The food is good, but really only had one thing to write home about and it was the duck confit empanadas. They were huge, stuffed with duck confit and had an amazing flavor to them. Otherwise, we spent $14 on a lobster bisque that had no real pieces of lobster in it and a lack of sherry flavor, a $58 filet that was your typical steak. The Bogart cocktail was very good and with the $15 and the white Malbec was a new find for me and I loved it. The charcuterie was really big and had eight different cheeses and four different meats to try which was great. All in all, it was good, their menu is attempting to live up to their atmosphere which I think it falls a bit short of, but it's not terrible. House manager needs to work on being more welcoming to everyone.

Yelp
This has to be the biggest hidden gem in Nashville. Gannons came up during a random Yelp search I was conducting. I decided to give it a try. My bf and I was seeing a show at TPAC and walked over to Gannons afterwards. Our reservation was for 5:30pm, but they were able to get us in at 5pm. The entire staff was amazing. Our waiter Mark went over and beyond to make sure our visit was amazing. Please ask for him if you go. The main star of our meal was the pork chop with a peach glaze. Just when I thought Urban Grub and Perry's had the best pork chop in town. The pork chop was 20 out of 10. It was prepared perfect with its juices still in tact. The peach glaze was an added bonus. I also enjoyed the cream spinach. How could I forget about the Brie oysters I had as a starter. Please forgive me, talk about a flavor parade. Oysters Rockefeller who, it's all bout the Brie . Overall, this is the perfect date night for an elevated intimate dinner.

Yelp
Wow! The place is amazing! The food was incredible, the service was wonderful and the atmosphere was on point! I have some special dietary needs and the chef was so accommodating!!!!! My sister had the swordfish and said it was the best she'd ever had! The creamed spinach was fabulous! And the espresso martinis were delicious! We just can't say enough about this place! Just go there! You will not be disappointed! We can't wait to go back!

Yelp
What an awesome experience. Gannons is really not as well known as it should be. As someone who really enjoys a great Gatsby vibe, this really hit the mark. There was a live jazz band, great ambiance and excellent food. We started off with a Caesar salad that was split between two, then a prime rib which was cooked perfectly (if you like rare), then finished with the crème brûlée. I'd definitely go back!!

Yelp
We found this place looking for quiet place to have a good meal. My wife and I both ordered the prime rib, we all know sometimes you get more fat than meat. Not here. The best Prime rib I ever had in my life. Seasoned to perfection, words cannot describe how good it is. They waiter has been there from the beginning and was very knowledgeable about all dishes. Waiter was knowledgeable even on all bourbons and wines. Great experience. The egg plant appetizer don't remember the name, Olivia something, beat my expectations. I will be staying close to that restaurant next time in Nashville.

Yelp
This was my first visit to Nashville. I expected many restaurants would offer Southern dishes or country-western food, whatever that might be. We did not find that at Gannons. This was casual fine dining at its paramount! The entree menu was not extensive, but the selections were tempting. The ambiance is very warm. The tables are well-spaced, and the bar is quite long and nice. Don't let the eatery's location of being at a Marriott Courtyard Hotel keep you away. Shortly after we arrived, a jazz trio took the elevated stage and played some entertaining music. They were quite good! My wife started with the Eggplant Olivia, an incredibly delicious dish with fried eggplant, shrimp, crab, spinach, and cheese. My lobster bisque with cognac was perhaps the best I have ever had. My wife chose the Timpano Di Manzo entree. This was braised beef with mushrooms, shallots, and mozzarella cheese perfectly baked inside of puff pastry. The beef was extremely lean with a wonderful flavor; just a great dish! I enjoyed the daily feature fish, mahi mahi with large shrimp on top covered with a delish sauce. We both received sides of zucchini and squash, which were prepared quite well. What represents how much we loved our dinner is the fact we boxed up what we couldn't finish and took it on our flight home the next day. For the record, the leftovers were still exceptional!

Yelp
Last night my husband and I were passing through Nashville and wanted a nice dinner with live music. I yelped in advance and made reservations here. It did not disappoint! I'd asked for seating near the stage. They remembered and ushered us right to great seats. This place started out as a bank. They maintained the high ceilings and gorgeous woodwork. Our server was prompt and friendly. When we asked for the seafood options, she gave us one off menu - large scallops over pesto risotto in grilled onion cups, with beurre blanc sauce. My husband and I shared a Caesar salad, and then we each ordered the scallop special. I am often disappointed ordering scallops out because they are often way underdone, or overdone and tough. We both agreed these were perfect and delicious! Oh, and the trio that played was great - obviously very experienced musicians. So all was as expected in Nashville!

Yelp
Cool restaurant, but the food was lacking. We had Oysters , prime rib, and the fresh catch. Oysters were good, but that doesn't really forgive the rest. Prime rib was over cooked and under seasoned, swordfish was nothing special and the sides were a joke.

Yelp
This upscale bar and restaurant is an easy walk from downtown. And might I say, worth the walk for their happy hour. The drinks are amazing. I've heard they have live music, but we needed to keep moving before that happened.

Yelp
Came here on a Friday night and wow what a good experience! Good: - Got a cool Gatsby vibe, really nice live music - Food comes out so quickly, staff were really friendly - They gave us a birthday creme brulee and also played happy birthday on the live band! - The pasta was amazing! I loved the bbq shrimp and pasta combo - The lobster bisque soup was really good - Beignets were okay too, very flakey - Risotto was amazing! Super good portion size and mushrooms were cooked so well Bad: - The food was very heavy so left feeling super full - turtle soup wasn't very tasty it has a weird taste Overall this place was amazing and glad we found it! Not many reviews but it was a great bday place

Yelp
Just a couple of blocks from Printer Alley we found this place attached to the hotel lobby. Don't let the fact that it is attached to the hotel to fool you. Most of the food was absolutely fantastic. The reason I say most, I was really looking forward to the Turtle soup but the chef had burned the roux so it was inedible. Our server switched it out for the lobster bisque, which was very good, but didn't quite suit my craving. The oysters were very tasty, but there was a bit too much Breadcrumb on top that was very dry, and somewhat undercooked. Maybe a little butter and a few minutes under the broiler could have cured the deficiency. The steak was fantastic, pearl onions sautéed in butter and hot sauce on top, it was a huge cut that I split with my wife and we still could not finish it. The service was a tad bit slow, but there was a huge group sitting in our section so it really was not the servers fault, she was just a little overloaded. overall it was a solid meal although nothing extraordinarily over the top.

Yelp
I had the most electable prime rib with the blue cheese Horse radish sauce a chopped wedge chopped salad. Lobster bisque, Brussel sprouts and roasted potatoes And a chocolate beignie in an afterdink. Of an Irish coffee with frothet baileys. The service was impeccable the ambiance Was intriguing they had live music and a pianist. I love my dining experience to the max it is An amazing restaurant that I will dine in again.

Yelp
Gannons was so amazing! Highly recommend getting the prime rib. I know, i know, that's everyone says - BUT THERE IS A REASON. it's like a smoked prime rib that tastes like bacon. It's HUGE, so i recommend sharing with a friend since none of us could finish ours. Also tried the special scallops dish which was amazing. The scallops weren't huge but they were perfectly cooked and crispy on the outside (pan fried). The veggie sides were great - ours were Brussels and potatoes. We also shared the burrata, but honestly I'd skip it. It was a very "skinny" burrata that didn't have much cream pouring out of it. It had strawberry on it which was unique... but not in a great way. There was live jazz on the Thursday night we went. Would definitely return, don't skip this even though it's in a hotel. It's a GREAT spot!
google avatar

Yelp
Not only was the food wonderful but the service can't be beat! Came in from Texas and made reservations ahead of time! Seated quickly and serviced quickly. Food and service were great. Very fresh . We got the braised beef ( which is enough for 2) and the fish special. Swordfish, get the lobster bisque and creamed spinach. They were amazing.

Yelp
All I can say is WOW! This old school style restaurant takes you back in time where glam was the thing. The decor is truly a time capsule. This used to be an old bank and the owners really did an amazing job keeping its original integrity. The service is amazing!!! The attention you recrive is short of feeling like a star. The food.... Let's say that it is a meal we will be talking about for many years to come. We will be back

tina t.

Yelp
Amazing! The service, the ambience and the food! Beautiful and swanky decor reminiscent of Roaring 20's, such a feel good atmosphere! Waitress was excellent, knowledgeable about food and drinks and very attentive but not overbearing. We never felt rushed. We travel to Nashville regularly and eat across town but this place is hands down the best food, no comparison. Our table ordered the pork chop, prime rib and rack of lamb. The pork chop was cooked perfectly and had a chutney glaze to die for, rack of lamb was best I've had anywhere, and the prime rib was perfection and could be cut with a butter knife. Truly the best meal we've had in Nashville to date! And it was more affordable than others at that caliber! Thanks Gannon's for such a memorable evening! We will most certainly look forward to returning!

Yelp
Live Jazz band. Beautiful setting. Food is delicious! The Eggplant omg I can eat it everyday.. deep fried pecan pie was sinful... love this place. Excellent service.

Yelp
Solid steak house with an art deco theme. The drinks were good and service was sharp. Food was okay.

Yelp
My husband and I had a lovely dinner at Gannons. The deco style decor, and the dark ambiance were perfect for a date night. The live jazz band made me so happy, it was such an unexpected treat. But let's talk about what matters, the food! We started with the freshly shucked oysters. They were served with horseradish, cocktail sauce, lemon and a side of saltines. They were super fresh and velvety. We also have the lobster bisque. The flavors were nice and subtle. The dollop of crème fraîche and the chives made it special. The wedge salad was full of flavor. It looked small but honestly I don't think I could have eaten a larger portion. The combination of the blue cheese, bacon and balsamic was beautiful. For my main dish I got the prime rib medium rare. It was served with a side of creamy horseradish, crispy potatoes and vegetable ratatouille. The prime rib was perfect. My husband said it was the best he's ever had. To end our meal we had the beignets. They were served with a side of warm chocolate sauce and dusted with powdered sugar. I could only eat a couple of pieces because I was so full. What I want to emphasize is how amazing the service was. I used to manage restaurants and I truly enjoyed watching the way the team worked together. They all worked as a team, making sure tables were well maintained and customers happy. Everyone was friendly and helpful.

Yelp
I would definitely give this place an extra star if the meal wasn't over three hours long from start to finish. Our server was awesome. Don't know her name but she was spot on. The ambience is cool. Some good live piano. The decor is cool. Plenty of tvs to watch sports. The food was good not great. We ordered a two person porterhouse and they brought out separate plates but when the steak came out it wasn't sliced. Very odd to me. It was eventually sliced and brought back but by that time all the rest of the folks were halfway through their meal. Not sure I would come back but definitely a place to check out.

Yelp
Gorgeous inside, wonderful piano music, amazing service and good food and drinks. This place nailed it and I couldn't be happier with their food and drink offerings. Love music every night, when we went it was relaxing piano music early in the night and as the night went on they brought in some percussion accompaniments. The vibe is vibey in all the goo upscale ways. What more can I ask for? Unassuming spot since you go through a hotel lobby and are transported into a beautiful restaurant inside. Presentation was beautiful and everything we had tasted good too.

Yelp
Great food, high ceiling, live music, good distance between tables (not NY style!), spinach was magic! Cocktail was good. Fair price. Good service
google avatar

Yelp
BEST. DINNER. EVER. Phenomenal meal, appetizers to dessert. Complimentary champagne for our anniversary. Ambiance FABULOUS. Wait staff who worked together and took the most care in such a pleasant manner. This is why we go out! Live music which was not overwhelming; a nice respite from the fun of Broadway. Shoutout to Kirsten who drives 40 miles to work here, the charming Cork raised hostess, and to owner Dave for the history lesson on this stunning setting and fun anecdotes from his time as a fellow New Yorker! Go here!
google avatar

Berda R.

Yelp
the food was mid. tried the turtle soup. it was like a bowl of overly salted gravy with tiny pieces of meat that were like scrapings from the grill. The prime rib was tasty but too much salt. didn't even come with a side of au jus sauce. for the price of everything it was decent. kind of over priced. but how everything tasted it wasn't worth the experience.
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped in for a cocktail and got the Sage House. It was very refreshing and the perfect balance of sweet and bitter. Would get it again. Bartender Brie was attentive.

Yelp
I was excited to go to Gannon's for dinner with my work teammates, unfortunately that excitement quickly faded. The room itself is very impressive and gave an air of old world charm. We dined early, 5:30 pm and the dining room was wide open. We ordered dinner and the proceeded to wait for 20 minutes before the food arrived without explanation for the delay. The disappointment came when my filet, ordered Medium Rare was presented Medium Well (gray and unappetizing). I asked for another and was then presented with another that looked like a run over road kill. An attempt at a third steak was presented "black and blue," under done! Attempts were made to satisfy, but my table mates had already finished. I left without dinner! They did remove it from the bill, but as an experience it was awful.
google avatar

Tim C.

Yelp
The service and ambiance is a five star. Live music, clean and super friendly servers. The food was adequate but I wouldn't say it was fantastic. This was a birthday meal destination and my son loved it.

Yelp
My experience at Gannons Nashville, located inside the Marriott Bonvoy hotel downtown, was an interesting one. The interior decor, inspired by "The Great Gatsby" and reminiscent of "American Horror Story: Hotel," was quite captivating. However, the parking situation downtown was challenging, and you will be paying $20 for parking to eat here. The food and drinks were a mixed bag. The prime rib was exceptionally delicious, and the fresh oysters were delightful. On the other hand, the ceviche and taretare were disappointingly bland, so I would suggest skipping those. The eggplant appetizer was also lacking in flavor. Among the main courses, the lamb rack stood out as a delicious choice, but my friend's fish dish was not up to par. When it came to desserts, we sampled them all, and only the crème brûlée received our approval. The staff's attitude was indifferent, which was a letdown, especially since we were there to celebrate a friend's birthday. I requested a candle for the crème brûlée, but they looked but sadly, stating they didn't have any. This lack of attention to special occasions made the night less memorable. In conclusion, if you plan to dine at Gannons Nashville, I recommend trying their prime rib, lamb rack, oysters, and crème brûlée. However, if you're looking to celebrate a special occasion and make the night truly special, you might want to consider other dining options.

Yelp
The atmosphere feels like you stepped back in time. The place is gorgeous. The music is very cool although a bit louder than I like when having a meal with friends. We sat far back and that helped. Cocktails were good. Oysters: classic chargrilled. Not overcooked but a little overpriced compared to other nearby restaurants. Prime rib: this was truly disappointing because it's why we went. It had very little flavor and arrive just Asian of meat on a plate. No horseradish no jus. When we asked about the jus we were told it was on the plate. We lifted the meat and saw a sad little bit. We asked for a side of jus and the waitress responded like we were asking for something unusual. All in all it needed so much salt and pepper to give it any flavor at all. It's also possible the Continental has ruined me for prime rib anywhere else so there's that. Show stealer was the ratatouille that comes with everything... as it should! It was delish! I would definitely go again.

Yelp
RUN!!! Don't walk to Gannon's!!! Charlesi was our server and she was so knowledgeable about the menu as well as incredibly entertaining, we loved her! Per her suggestions we ended up getting the burrata with pickled strawberries, jalapeno oil (I would have like that a little stronger) and perfectly balanced balsamic reduction served with toasted bread that was slightly seasoned, just enough that it really brought the whole bite together. After that we split the wedge salad which Charlesi claimed was not just "any" wedge salad.......she could not have been more correct. Tons of crumbled bacon, homemade blue cheese dressing, that balsamic again, the crispest iceberg lettuce in the world and shaved red onion that, when it arrived at the table, smelled very strong, but once it all got mixed in it was the perfect amount. Finally, we had the Eggplant Olivia and it was just as amazing as I remember it from Skull's. Oh, did I not mention that Chef Gannon used to own a piece of Skulls and was there for close to 7 years, when he left the food went terribly downhill so I searched and searched for Gannon only to find him at, GANNON'S!! But back to the perfectly crispy eggplant slices topped with crab meat, baby shrimp, baby spinach and a mornay sauce......I can't even explain to you how amazing this dish is, and quite filling! All in all, Chef came out to see how everything was, we had a quick catch-up and headed out after getting our parking validated; the sticker gets you $8 parking instead of $20 at the 4th and Commerce garage! I can't wait to go back, might be this weekend! PS.....so sorry I didn't take any pictures, but you really have to experience the decor and vibe and food on your own and hopefully your server is as knowledgeable about the history of the building and menu as Charlesi was!

Yelp
Amazing!! We started with the Rockefeller oysters which were some of the best we have had in Nashville. We then got the tuna tartar. The chips were very crispy but the tuna was very fresh with good flavor. My fiancé got the Barbecue Shrimp- says it was great with perfect Nola flavors. I got the pork chop- AMAZING. Sent my family a picture and told them we have to come back!!
google avatar

Peter K.

Yelp
The food was really good! At our table was both steak and seafood. It was all good. They had a good selection of wine. Kerry, the sommelier was fun. Our service was on point and friendly, and the "Great Gatsby" vibe was fun.

Yelp
We absolutely loved this restaurant while we were in town last weekend. The bartenders were attentive and knowledgable. The music was relaxing and enjoyable. The chef/owner was out amongst the patrons and wanted feedback. We loved the cocktails, appetizers and prime rib! If you ever get the chance to eat at this restaurant I highly recommend it! You will not regret it! We will certainly be back and this will be our place for dinner every time. Our favorites: Duck Confit Empanadas Mahi Mahi Prime Rib

Debbie R.

Yelp
We started with Oyster Brie which were delicious. My son had the pork chop which he states was the best he has ever had. Very thick cut & tender. I had Eggplant Olivia which was ok. Very, very rich and on the salty side. Shrimp were tiny. I would not order it again. Atmosphere was enjoyable. Historic building (bank) with 20 ft + ceilings. The live music was great compliment and not too loud.
google avatar

Xiaoran H.

Yelp
Great service and ambiance. AMAZING food and the portions are huge. Ordered too much and had to take half of the food to go. Prime ribs, duck empanada, and braised beef in puff pastry are totally recommended!!

Yelp
We were there in January for my husband's birthday dinner. Very good food, and service, and expect high prices for these qualities.

Yelp
I am in town for work and this restaurant is located in the same place I am staying. My first night there I had a Cesar salad and a glass of Pinot noir. I sat at the bar and the bar tender was super nice. She helped me pick a wine that she thought I would most like and offered me a sample. The wine was great! The Cesar salad was equally as good. Instead of croutons there was a cheese crisp on top that I thought was a great touch. I came back a second night and had such a lovely experience. My waiter was super nice and accommodating. While sitting at the bar to eat I met Gannon who happened to grow up in the town next door to where I spent a lot of time growing up. We talked about places in the area as well as great places to eat in New Orleans. Another women dining alone was close by and became part of the conversation. Gannon let us try his marinara, which was so good and he even made us some Brie on toast with some jam as something special. For my dinner I had the bbq shrimp pasta and it was delicious. The inside of the restaurant was dark but not in a bad way. I loved the vibe and the decor of the restaurant. I would definitely recommend coming here. I didn't really get pics of my

Yelp
Fantastic food and service served in an Art Deco environment with live jazz nightly. Don't miss the Prime Rib and Oysters

Yelp
Amazing food and spectacular service. We had bruschetta appetizer, meatball pasta, & chicken Parmesan. Every bite was delicious. Prices are quite reasonable in relation to the quality and amount of food. Our server, Seth, was knowledgeable, professional and kind. We'll definitely eat there again.

Yelp
First evening on a three day trip to Nashville, we decided to splurge a bit, and GANNONS did not disappoint at all. Ambiance and service at its fanciest level and the FOOD to remember ( lobster bisque / half a chicken with mushroom ) With a blues band playing in the background, a dinner to remember.
google avatar

Kristin M.

Yelp
Lovely restaurant, classy jazz trio, and excellent service. The lobster bisque was perfection! Highly recommend.

Yelp
This is a wonderful place to dine when visiting the heart of Nashville. The food was very well prepared with distinct touches that you don't find in other restaurants. We had the Eggplant Olivia and Prime Rib. The service was impeccable from the moment we walked in. The host and server were so helpful and friendly. The server made recommendations that really worked out well for us and the host checked on us to make sure we were totally satisfied with everything. We will absolutely dine there again.

Yelp
Service excellent. Very expensive AND the liquor is taxed 25%, which of course is a city tax, not the restaurants. Food good. Environment also very nice. Nice place for a special occasion or an expense account.

Yelp
Amazing food!! Ambiance is chill and warm! The oysters are the best I've had. If you're looking for delicious food, Gannon's is a must!

Yelp
Beautiful place with old school vibe. Food and service were excellent, even at the bar. Ordered the prime rib which was a thick cut portion that was well seasoned and cooked to medium rare with a great horseradish creme. Sides were potatoes and Brussels sprouts which were good too. Bartenders and servers were top notch too. Highly recommended if you're looking for a nice meal downtown.

Yelp
Absolutely 10/10! Without a doubt. Gannons and the surrounding area restaurants has me questioning why I still live in California. Jokes aside. Here's what we ordered. Prime rib 10/10 I think they must've either sou vide the prime rib, or it's very possible that no one in California can cook a decent prime rib. This includes the big names like mortons, eddievs prime and the likes. Tender, but not mushy, and GIGANTIC! one serving was enough for 3 people. Rib eye, 10/10 again perfection. Sides such as grits, veggies and mash were all on point and generous. The oysters were fab. The ambience and service on par with the food . In truth, I didn't really expect anything spectacular. Unequivocally my mind is completely blown by Gannons. Will be back as often as possible.

Yelp
Tonight we dined at Gannons Nashville for the first time to celebrate our wedding anniversary. It was the best meal we've had since Gannon, the head chef and owner, left Skull's Rainbow Room to open his own restaurant. Skull's previously always felt like home, but then there were some changes and that personal touch we loved was gone. I'm so glad we've found a new restaurant to call home. It was so great seeing some of our favorite people again tonight! The foie gras (an off-menu item), lobster bisque, wedge salad, prime rib, oysters on the half shell, and chocolate torte were our menu picks. Everything we had was DIVINE! We highly enjoyed the speakeasy vibes, beautiful atmosphere, friendly customer service, and delicious food. Can't wait to go back again soon!

Yelp
Found this place for dinner and looked at the menu online and was very tempting. Did not disappoint. Decor and ambience is relaxing but full of energy. Ultra high ceilings give you just feeling of the architectural space. We tried the oysters on the half shell, wedge salad, prime rib, and bbq shrimp. All were well made and tasty. They also brought the lobster bisque as an extra which was the absolute best I have ever tried. Service was fantastic. Always attentive. Drinks were excellent. Great music (Nashville). I will definitely return to this new place. Highly recommend if you are looking for a bistro full of life!

Yelp
Amazing! I go to Gannons every visit to Nashville. You seriously cannot go wrong. Prime rib and Burrata rocked!
