Gar-Anat is a very unique experience, par excellence, from first walking into the art filled lobby to entering your personal room with its own private art collection. I loved the piece of art over my bed and the beautiful window doors out to the streets. Fully air conditioned, the room was large enough for two comfy chairs|The bathroom was topped off with a juguzzi bath; a tub large enough for a village. I exaggerate. But the most luxurious of all, was the breakfast served in a beautiful dining hall at a family style dining table with a buffet of eggs, meats, cheeses, pastries , and luscious fruit presided over by one of the partners. A fortifying, and gracious touch that made my day. All the staff members are helpful and generous with their time.

Gorgeous hotel in the best location. So easy to walk everywhere. Spotlessly clean beautifully decorated and modern bathroom. Staff friendly and helpful. Our room was on the 2nd floor with balcony facing the street but very quiet. Our son’s room was 1st floor and they equally loved it. Fantastic value for money. Will definitely return and would not hesitate to recommend to all.

The hotel, set in a historical building, has a lovely ambience and decor, with a water fountain and artworks from a local artist in the atrium, and breakfast downstairs in the renovated cellar. Staff are friendly and helpful. The biggest plus point is its location - just a few minutes’ walk to the cathedral and with local bus stops either across the road or a minutes’ walk away, meaning you can get to both the Alhambra and Albaicin really easily. Our only slight regret was not booking a larger room - the economy rooms are absolutely fine but a bit ‘snug’. Loved our stay and would definitely recommend here as a base whilst in Granada.

From the moment we arrived we were made to feel very special - nothing g was too much trouble - and Julieta was our main contact. She speaks impeccable English and understood all our needs. ||Parking is very close by in an underground car park. |The location is perfect for exploring Grenada. We loved our rooms and the massage I had was the best ever. Highly recommend for a 2/3 night stopover.

Our family of 5 adults stayed at the Gar-Anat for one night; my wife and I were in a deluxe double room and my three adult sons were in a triple room. The rooms were spacious and fairly comfortable. One drawback / comment is that our room had a fairly strong chemical smell in it for much of the day that we checked-in (presumably from the cleaning products used, although our sons’ room didn’t have that smell) which we got past but obviously would have been preferable to have not had. Our bathroom was quite large with a shower in perhaps the largest tub I’ve even seen! (Our sons had a more “ordinary” shower setup). Overall the rooms were comfortable but as noted, not spectacular, so they earn the 4 star rating.||I do want to note some particularly strong points in favor of the hotel. The desk staff is extremely helpful. Before our trip they were in communication with me over WhatsApp and recommended a flamenco show that we quite enjoyed and got us the tickets. They were happy to help with anything from food recommendations / reservations to taxi transfers, to Alhambra tickets, etc…. Truly lovely staff and they were great in person as well. The location is also amazing - it’s right in the center of the old city, minutes away from the Granada cathedral and in the heart of many of the attractions, and only a 20 minute walk or so when you’re leaving the Alhambra. (Note that the Alhambra is at the top of a large hill and would take a bit longer to walk to than the walk back to town when you’re walking downhill). And the hotel had a very nice breakfast buffet in a room that looked and felt a bit like a quite appealing white cave.||One tip / note: the hotel is in the middle of streets that are extremely narrow. Taxis and residents can drive to the hotel, but not all cars are allowed to, so you need to factor this in mind if you’re calling for an uber / ride share type of service and you may need to walk a couple of blocks to meet your ride. It’s also possible for various festivals / events to close off roads around the hotel.

Liked · The only thing we liked about the hotel was the perfectly beautiful aroma in the main area as you walk in.||Disliked · Sadly we really were NOT comfortable in this hotel. We were given very bad directions to get to the hotel due to a major road renovation that will be running for a long time. We are very astute and worked out our own way to work around the construction no entry signs. This hasn't made me have negative thoughts about the hotel or judging it, however we then were not welcomed with a friendly face. The room was small, bedside cabinets were squeezed in with the drawers jammed against the side of the bed so unusable for storage! We could see that if we turned them round they wouldn't fit at all! The bed sheets had holes in them where they had gone threadbare!! Terrible! The bathroom was very 2* with thin towels and whole room was dark dismal and quite depressing! Location was in a VERY noisy street with noise throughout the night. We were SO glad our two night stay was over. We were touring independently staying at various hotels throughout the Andalusia and this was by far the most terrible hotel we stayed out. We paid £200 per night in early May 2025 for this!! I really don't like to give bad reviews but I couldnt think of any positive thoughts at all. This should be classified as 2*.

We had a great stay at the Gar Anat! We loved the location -- on a pretty side street, close to the action, easy to find, yet very quiet. The property dates to the 16th century, so it has a beautiful historic vibe. Some of the interior design is very funky and eye-catching. It has a zen feeling to it. ||Our room was just right -- spacious and very pretty. Nice amenities, and QUIET. The bed was super-comfortable. ||We didn't eat breakfast at the hotel, though it is offered at extra cost. ||The front desk staff were very nice and quite helpful.||We'd stay here again if we ever came back to incredible Granada.

We had a wonderful stay at Gar Anat Hotel. This small hotel is charming and has a lot of character. We enjoyed the eclectic decor and architectural details in the public spaces as well as in our room. The highlight for us was the front desk clerk, Julietta, who was very thoughtful and helpful. We arrived frazzled after navigating through the crowds watching the Easter week (Semana Santa) processions for almost a mile with our suitcases. Julietta negotiated a refund from a flamenco show we tried and failed to get to (because of the crowds), got us a reservation at a nearby and excellent restaurant, and directed us to an even closer (and equally excellent) cocktail lounge. Upon our return, we found a wine bottle and wishes for our anniversary. It was very kind of her. |One issue we had was noise from the street (including crashing glass, presumably for recycling, at 5 am), but that may have been because of the processions. The other thing to be aware of is that there were two steps up to the room, two steps down to the bathroom, and a big step into the shower. But I don’t know if that was typical of all the rooms.

Yelp
Gar Anat is a funky boutique hotel walking distance to Gran Via and the Cathedral. Service: The staff at this hotel are some of the friendliest I encountered in Spain. They are very customer-service centered and the front desk receptionist took the time to explain to use how to get around Granada, circling places of interest on a map. There is always someone at the front to buzz you into the front door. Room: Each room is decorated differently and is named after Spanish authors or artists. Our room was on the first floor and had a lovely landscape painting on the wall and high ceilings. It was a spacious, clean room and we were very comfortable. Food: We ate breakfast in a hurry because we had tickets for El Alhambra. The breakfast room is downstairs and has one long table. Their breakfast buffet had a nice selection of delicious pastries (we tried some sort of lemon pound cake and a Nutella-filled croissant, yum!), breads, meats and cheeses, fruit and more. I would definitely stay here again if I'm ever back in Granada!

Yelp
The Gar Anat is a great stylish little boutique hotel in Granada that is in a great central location within walking distance to all attractions. They have 24 hour receptionist on hand and they were a great help in directing us to getting our Alhambra tickets printed, finding meals, etc... The hotel is just a 5 minute walk from Plaza Nueva and about 15 minutes uphill walk to Alhambra and 30 minutes up to the Mirardor San Nicolas in the El Albayzín Arab quarters. However, it's not in the heart of the tourist area so you won't be walking outside to crowds of people. The room that we had was a bit small but we got a good deal so I can't complain so bear in mind this is a boutique hotel. We didn't do breakfast which they offer in a dining area downstairs nor were we around for the afternoon tea which they serve with some cookies and biscuit (free to guests).
