We came to San Antonio for the Dia De Los Muertos celebration and Saturday morning we were standing outside our hotel 🏨 and across the street we saw beautiful glass sculptures and people creating in their warehouse. It was such a fascinating site. We contemplated walking over but we were chicken, didn't want to bother the people. We went back to our room and I had to look up the place to see what it was. I was too intrigued not too. I saw it was Garcia Art Glass and it opened at 9am! I told our friends about it and they said what I was thinking 🤔, " I've always wanted to see how glass art was made!" We got ready and headed over. It was so beautiful walking in. You'll wish you could buy everything in their gallery. It's some of the most gorgeous glass I've ever seen. Captivating. They led us to the back where there is seating. You can watch them make their pieces!!! Everyone was so welcoming and entertaining. We Loved Ezra !! He was so excited and passionate! You can tell everyone Loves ❤️ the art they are making! What an amazing experience! One I won't forget. Thank You so much for the experience Garcia Art Glass !! I'll be back in December. I have to have one of those Christmas 🎄 ornaments !!

Simply fantastic working artistic glass retailer. The artisans are friendly, knowledgeable, and love talking about their craft. Had a wonderful time. Bought some beautiful pieces during their sale, for gifts and personal. We look forward to going back again real soon. Thank you so much for your kindness and patience.

Google
Garcia Art Glass a gem in the San Antonio art scene. On our visit we were treated like the only customer of the day. The open work shop makes easy and accessible to the artist at work. They show and explain their artistries. It is well worth your time to visit and find some great art work to take home.

Had the privilege of watching the process, Gera and the MAESTRO are artists and the owner a really nice person, will definitely return to get a few pieces

Google
The team there is so nice. A big bonus was that they allowed us to watch them work in the glass shop! It was truly amazing.

Chris Sandeman

Google
Great shop to come watch glass making taking place live before your eyes! Beautiful work made by expert craftspeople.

Google
This glass blowing experience was such a special holiday outing for our family. We will definitely be back as other classes are added!

If you're fascinated with glass works, this is the place to come out and check it out!!! I highly recommend you come in and see the BUTTERFLIES 😎🙌

Yelp
I've received 2 Garcia glass bowls as gifts. I treasure them! They are stunningly beautiful!

Yelp
Everything in the gallery is gorgeous, the quality of the pieces is outstanding and the team is great. We had the office Christmas event here and we all loved the opportunity to see the process to make a piece.

Yelp
We went on a Saturday morning and saw the live demonstration of glassmaking. It was amazing to see the expert choreography of movement to create beautiful glass. This would be a great teambuilding exercise to show how people can work together very well.

Yelp
Great little artisan glass studio. We got to meet with Gini and placed an order for a custom glass project. She was so nice and accommodating. She had wonderful suggestions for what we needed. Studio has quite a few handmade glass items for purchase but is also able to make almost anything. Gini will patiently work with you to iron out specifics. If you'd like to actually witness the artisans at work, aim at being at the studio in the am hours before the studio gets too hot. Would definitely recommend a visit here.

Yelp
Incredible experience! We were led immediately to the studio in the back where a team was making a trumpet. Highly recommend, and very well explained to us each part of the process.

Yelp
The art on display at the Garcia Art Glass Gallery is absolutely stunning. They have pieces large and small but everything is absolutely beautiful with explosions of color. On one of our visits we were even able to to watch the glass blowing process which was very cool to see, what I like the most about their art is that it is great to own a piece of local art from right here in San Antonio.

Yelp
I love this place! If you're looking for the perfect gift, you should definitely go here. They make custom glass pieces and you can also choose from their selection in the store. On some days you can even see them blowing the glass in the back, it's really cool to see! Whenever I need a gift for someone, whether it's a client or a friend, I always try to come here. It's a family owned business, also owned by a woman, and the customer service is excellent!

Yelp
Gorgeous, hand-crafted art glass! Friendly, family owned business Do stop by when you're in San Antonio -- you won't regret it.

Yelp
I've popped in to watch the glass blowing 3-4 times and every time am almost moved to tears by the skill, artistry, silent choreography between the artists and the finished masterpiece. It's an inspiring experience and the art they create is beautiful. I've taken my kids (10 & 13) to watch and they love it too. I wouldn't recommend for little kids, as the walk through the narrow store lined with breakable treasures would be daunting with little ones. On our most recent visit the senior glass blower had the kids come down and he made a special piece right in front of them as another employee narrated. It was an incredibly thoughtful and generous experience.

Rosita B.

Yelp
Always a nice place to watch true artists at work . Great atmosphere, always neat and organized. Nice that you can buy their artwork in the shop. This place reminds me of Venice

Yelp
We were staying at the Hotel Contessa in SA. They had several poeces of glass from Garcia's. They had some beautiful blown glass flowers at the check-in desk and some sconces and other pieces around the hotel. We took the short walk from our Hotel to the store. The salesman was very friendly and helpful. We decided to get one of their new pieces a heart bowl for Valentine's Day. They have a varied selection of blown glass items. If you are an art or glass collector I would recommend a visit here.

Yelp
I was in town for my daughter's graduation and enjoyed some of the fun tourist spots. However, Garcia Art Glass was my favorite stop of the day. The art was so beautiful, and the experience so unique. I felt so welcome from the moment I walked in that I truly didn't want to leave. I was able to go in the shop where the artwork was being created. The artists were such gentlemen, explaining to me the process as they created amazing pieces. This is a must see for anyone that appreciates kindness, beauty and art.

Yelp
We are still considering out options about buying here. All the art we saw was beautiful and the folks were friendly fly and helpful. Likely to buy some custom work for the house. In the meantime, we were enraptured with watching the artists do their work in the shop. They have a great viewing area so that you can see how the final product is created, and they go out of their way to explain the steps to you. Based upon that alone, their attention to their customers, we were ready to buy something then... if we had had our final plan. But even if you are not ready to buy, go to the shop to watch these guys in action. Very entertaining and educational.

Yelp
9/10/2014 The Beautiful Art Glass here is amazing, I highly recommend you check them out while your in San Antonio. Hot - Studio is about a mile south of this location. This is where everythings made. Locally owned & operated.

Yelp
Go during the glass blowing. It was very interesting and the staff is very friendly and attentive. Their work is stunning. If you are looking for a bargain just ask the staff about the 1 offs. Those items are first run pieces or have VERY minor imperfections or so they say. These items are less expensive and there are a lot of neat pieces.

Yelp
I make it a habit of checking in at local glass artists. I was pleasantly surprised at the selection and price of the art pieces here. I picked up a few pieces to take back to Seattle. Thanks for the experience. We did take a few minutes to watch the artists at work. I highly recommend visiting to see the studio and the variety of pieces they have.

Yelp
Stumbled upon this wonderful gem on a recent trip to San Antonio. They have a wonderful viewing room where you can watch the artists at work. It was so impressive and they were great at informing us about each of the processes they were working on. We were there with kids (8-13) and they were all mesmerized!

Yelp
Absolutely amazing work and friendly people!! Took one of their make your own ornament classes today and it was fantastic!!

Yelp
Gini Garcia is our city's glass-blowing bard. Her delicate, colorful, ornate glass bowls, lamp shades, figurines, and more are instantly recognized at the most exclusive Latin restaurants and beyond around town. It's fitting: Garcia has said that her earthy, vibrant colors reflect her Hispanic heritage and land, a perfect match for our culturally tinged place on the South Texas map. Garcia's crowning glories are her incredible chandelier-like drop-down light fixtures. They're like something out of lucid dreams, or Alice in Wonderland: spiraling, multicolored flowers of all shapes and sizes mushroom amid tendril protrusions vie for space like pups at the teets in these dense creations. They're incredible. One piece makes a statement for an entire house. Again, though, they're pricey--she's been commissioned by seemingly everyone in San Antonio (Texsan Heart Hospital, AT&T, etc.) and beyond (Warner Bros., Volvo).

Yelp
I had SUCH a hard time finding this place. Holy crap. Once I found it I was in love. This is our cities first established glass blowing store. I've seen stores like this but those were in Europe. The decor was amazing. By far some of the best glass blowing work I've seen in Texas at least. Obviously everything is going to be a bit pricey but it's well worth it for the work that you're getting. I completely agree with Jennifer L. this stuff will make your home. One piece is one room will bring everything together. It's just amazing work and even if you're not in the market for new furniture for your home or a little piece for your apartment, this place is still so much fun to visit!

Yelp
I think about this gallery way more often than I should. I don't know what it is but Gini Garcia moves me. I haven't checked out her studio yet but next time I'm in SA its happening. The people that work here are always extremely kind and informative. Definitely worth popping in and drooling over if you are scoping out the Riverwalk.

Yelp
This is a very creative family owned and impressively operated business. The passion instilled in their work and the attention to detail is inspiring.

Yelp
Pretty! This location is basically the gallery of the Garcia Art Glass Company. Located right across the Hyatt Regency, it is in a difficult area to find because it's in the lower walkway between the actual riverwalk and the stairs leading up from Ripley's and across the street from the Alamo. Once you stumble on it, it's a hidden gem: a gorgeous art gallery made of glass. Creations are the brainchild of Gini Garcia, who is San Antonio's #1 glass-blowing artist. Her actual studio is on South Alamo, south of Hemisfair Park. I hear there are tours there, which I must partake if I come back.

Yelp
Awesome place with beautiful items and friendly people. We really enjoyed watching the artists at work... and trust me they are artists! Nothing here is inexpensive but you'll have a unique piece that's for sure!
google avatar

Emily H.

Yelp
Incredibly friendly people! There is a place in their studio where you can sit and watch the glass blowing process for free! They will answer any questions you have about the process, and it was an enjoyable experience!

Yelp
Very beautiful blown glass art work. Great gift or memento of the San Antonio River Walk. Large tear drop blown glass sculpture. Gallery on the Riverwalk

Yelp
The shopping experience was just amazing! Angela was super helpful and the art is beautiful! There's something there for everyone at every price, so you won't regret visiting Garcia Art Glass!! Go check them out and plan to stay and see them blow some glass while you're there!!!

Kristina K.

Yelp
Amazing art! All their pieces are spectacular !!! Very helpful staff. Convenient location. Would love to see the whole process.

Joy B.

Yelp
We so enjoyed our visit to the Garcia Art Glass Gallery. Angela was friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the glass art. We loved so many of the pieces, and it was difficult to choose just one. We look forward to our next visit so we can add to our collection. Keith and Joy

Yelp
Whoa! Too cool to watch them blow glass...and its free! You can sit about 10ft away from the action. They will periodically tell you what is going on so you know what is happening. No one was in there when we went which confused me, because I think this is a 'must see' that is up close and personal. It was very warm in there due to the equipment, so anytime other than summer would probably be a good time to go. Oh, they sell the art right there!

Justin J.

Yelp
Amazing operation here. Bleachers set up to watch the glassworks. Friendly staff, explaining the process as they work through a piece. They showed us the materials up close. Gorgeous finished pieces too. Highly recommended.

Jen H.

Yelp
Beautiful glassworks! And it's closer to the Riverwalk than it looks on a map. It only took us a few minutes to walk from La Villita. You can sit and watch them make amazing works of art just outside of the store. We purchased a unique oil lamp. The really cool part is that you can give them custom orders! This allows you to get the design you like in the colors that match your decor. The glass workers are extremely talented! We are so happy with what we bought.

Barbara R.

Yelp
Loved the store and watching the artists blow the glass. Very informative and explained all they were doing. Will definitely go back very soon.

Rachel S.

Yelp
My family and I discovered this place while shopping on the Riverwalk, decided to stop in, and loved every moment. The glass pieces are beautifully crafted by a small team of people. Everyone is very friendly and processes and pieces were shown off up close and explained to us as they were being made! Definitely worth stopping by if you're a fan of glass art or if you love supporting local businesses!
