Yelp
I am actually stunned. A chair I found on Wayfair, ($669.99)is selling for $5000 at Garde. That means they bought it from Wayfair, a retail outlet, not a supplier and marked it up by 1000%. That's insane. Normally a retail store buys from a wholesaler and marks up maybe 50%. That is from a WHOLESALER!!
Typically, the average markup of furniture ranges from 20% to 50% based on the furniture's wholesale cost. Furniture retailers use markup to cover their operating costs including employee salaries, rent, utilities, marketing costs, and other overheads, while leaving a portion for profit.
1000% is like saying " I know people who shop here are idiots"
Crazy.
