The Best Places To Eat When You’re Merging Friend Groups - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Garlic & Chives is a modern Vietnamese restaurant in Little Saigon and home to some of our favorite - and the most inventive - food in the area. No matter what day of the week you come here, you’ll find a lively atmosphere and a bunch of other tables also trying to merge their respective friend groups. It’s hard to order poorly at Garlic & Chives, but let’s just say if you don’t get the pomelo salad, shaken beef, and whole roasted garlic crab for the table, you’ve done your friends a greater disservice than making them sit a table with somebody who’s currently trying to message them on a dating app." - brant cox

Met the owner while we dined here. Food was excellent and one of the best Asian cuisine in the area. We had a party of 13 also and place accommodated well!

Service was great. Refilled the water and was attentive to our group. We tried a few dishes. We had the garlic noodles with shrimp. That was good. Also tried the salt and pepper calamari. It’s good but caution about it being spicy. We also tried a few different salads which was refreshing. The decor was nice and pretty. I think it’s a nice place to take a date. Weds evening there wasn’t too many people which was nice.

The Vietnamese food here is amazing. Chef Kristen’s dishes are so creative and versatile. You can get acidic, sweet, salty, umami all in a single meal. The portions are perfect and the food is so fresh. Highly recommend going with multiple people so you can dine family style and try as many dishes as possible.

I'm so thrilled this location opened in Cerritos. I would drive down to OC to its original location. Personally, think this location is better. It's spacious and modern. There's also a private dining area you can reserve. Great friendly service 👌 The menu selection is vast with lots of seafood options. So happy to have some modern traditional vietnamese closer to home versus driving out to OC.

First time coming to this branch, but always coming back here moving forward! Shorter lines and the restaurant itself is newer, cleaner. Plus all the dishes are on point in terms of flavor and texture. Recommend the papaya salad, calamari and lamb dishes!

We went on a Tuesday for dinner, there weren’t that many people in the restaurant which told me what I needed to know. Really wanted to support the small business, have seen amazing things online. Was really looking forward to this meal to celebrate my mom’s milstone in her cancer treatment. We saved our stomachs all day looking forward to this meal. However, was really disappointed. We ordered about five dishes, two of which weren’t able to be ordered because the kitchen ran out of key ingredients (Mustard green rolls, seabass hot pot). What we were able to get sent to our table were razor clams & it really lacked the pungent Vietnamese flavors I grew up loving. Most notably, the size of the razor clams were super small and overcooked. Perhaps we went on a bad day, but there seems to be too many misses for me to warrant a second attempt. Our server was really nice & understanding and let us return the razor clams so I tipped him accordingly.

Wow the food was so good. We started off with the Pomelo Salad. The dish was so bright and citrusy and sweet and acidic. An amazing balance of flavors and textures. Especially with the fried rice cracker. Next up was the toothpick lamb. Another 5/5. Each bite was a great balance of char and spices. It gave such a nice kick while having that delicious gamey lamb flavor. Then we got the Holy Fried Chicken. The texture of the skin was crackly and crunchy and the sauce was sweet and sticky. And finally we got the grilled scallop with masago. The scallop was sweet and delicious but downing it all in one shot including the juices sitting at the bottom is a must.

We ordered dishes that we shared with a group of over 20 people. The total bill was very doable. The food were fairly priced.

Yelp
I was a bit hangry and chose this restaurant for so home cook Vietnamese food. I ordered the caramelized salmon with rice and it absolutely hit the spot. Salmon was not too salty and complimented white rice well. They offer a nice menu of Vietnamese classic and fusion offerings. Casual. Good service. Good parking. Please come and create your own adventure.

Yelp
I've been coming to Garlic and Chives for about 2 years and it was always a pleasant experience. The waiters were attentive and cordial always aiming to please. However, today was not the same and I probably will not be coming back. As we walked in today, we were greeted by a server whom I had not seen before. He greeted us and when we asked to be seated at the usual booth we like to sit at he directed us to a table, and I asked why and he said "that booth had been reserved". In all the previous times we had come to eat here that had never been an issue, we requested a booth and we were seated without any objections. I let it go because I didn't want to make a scene nor ruin it for my family. From there on I knew I wasn't going to enjoy myself there. The place was not crowded and there were no Reserved signs on that booth! We ordered and we ate. As we were eating, a couple walked in and they were seated at another table. But when the gentleman asked the waitress to be seated at that booth, they cleared the table which had plates and utensils for 4 and left it so that it would have them for 2. That showed me that the table had no reservation and when another couple asked to be seated there the waitress complied without remarks. To make a long story longer... the waiter who served us, Jonathan tl Nguyen, ruined it for me. If this is brought to his attention he will remember me because I did not leave a proper tip. To Insure Proper Service, (TIPS) which he did not. Anyway, lesson learned and all it takes is one waiter to make me not go back to this place with my family to enjoy a meal and a good time.

Yelp
Located in a busy plaza, I'm not sure if people really notice this restaurant since it's towards the back! Deserves so much recognition! Such a delicious Vietnamese restaurant with a vast menu. The owner is really involved with her staff & customers. She was so kind & helped us order since it was our first time here. We pretty much ordered all the OG appetizers & they were all 10/10. The crispy tofu was to die for because it had the perfect crunch on the outside & soft inside. The dipping sauce was like a fish sauce sweet & sour something. It paired so well. Chicken wings? Drenched in sauce, textured in a crisp perfect way that was so mouth watering. PAPAYA SALAD?! ugh u can't go wrong with any of their salads. It helps so much with like not feeling bloated & full. Speaking of, all of their dishes are laid on top of fresh veggies!! The only thing I can say is that the fried flounder we got tasted a bit too fishy for me. The mango sticky rice however made it all up because it was delishhh!! This is the first place that didn't skimp out on the creamy coconut-y white sauce! Although some of the rice was a little hard & chewy...but we can look past that!! We will definitely be back to try the rest of their menu. The interior is so chic & clean. They even have a big party room in the back if you're celebrating a birthday or something! Being here on a Tuesday night was so relaxing & quiet because we were literally the only customers! I can only imagine how they are on the weekends!

Yelp
Ummm... what?!? This food was fire . The flavor was on point, prices good and portions good. Ambiance was beautiful! Very romantic. I went with a friend but can't wait to take the husband. We thought service wasn't good at first but as we left we realized there is a button the table for service. Ooops. I'm sure they would have come more often if we pushed it. Great date night spot!

Yelp
This is my local favorite restaurant serving some of the best modern Vietnamese cuisine, well deserved the Bib Gourmand from Michelin. The salmon belly spring rolls, Pomelo salad and shaken beef are amazing. The Cerritos location is tastefully decorated with a private dining room. You can often find the executive chef-owner Kristin Nguyen interacting with customers. And if you book a banquet in the private dining room, Chef Kristin will dazzle you and your guests with some off the menu special treats that will blow your taste buds away.

Yelp
Great service and delicious food! The decor is very pretty. Perfect for a celebration. Also found out they're Michelin recipients. We ordered the ahi tuna rolls. So bomb! My hubby ordered the spicy tofu and he inhaled it. The staff is very friendly and attentive. They want to make sure your experience and meal is great. We loved it so much we returned a few days later with my brothers.

Yelp
I've been here twice now, and I really really want to give this place 5 stars. All the food I've had so far is flavorful and the service is great, but some things are definitely not hitting the mark for me. Overall, I feel like it's not enough food for what you pay for. There's ample parking here. This restaurant is huge and every time I've come for lunch, it's practically empty. 5/5 Charboiled pork spring rolls: Delicious, has a crunch from wonton skin. I love when spring rolls have mint which is rare in the area 4/5 Combination beef pho: Great broth, but usually combination beef pho comes with meatballs which this one did not have. Definitely felt like they skimped out on meat. 3/5 Garlic and Chives fried tofu: Wanted to love this, but looked nothing like the photo. In the photo each piece is COVERED with a layer of garlic/chives and definitely felt like there was only a little sprinkle of it. Also, felt like the photo showed more pieces than what we were served. 4/5 Pork Ribs Clay Pot: Super flavorful and delicious. Just feel, again, that there could be more meat for this.

Yelp
Yummy Vietnamese spot. The location is huge and great for groups. Although it's a casual place, it has a somewhat nicer upscale vibe to it and can be a good option for a family gathering or a celebration of some sort. I came here for lunch with a friend on a weekday and it wasn't too busy. We shared 3 dishes: - Pomelo salad: AMAZING! WOW! I absolutely loved this dish and still think about it and crave it. It's perfectly balanced, super refreshing and also has that umami flavor. Even if you don't really like grapefruit, I challenge you to try this dish. This one is up there on my top 3 favorite salads of all time. Ugh I want this right now as I'm typing this. Literally salivating dammit! - Chicken wings: yummy! Sticky, savory, delicious. - Garlic noodles with shrimp: just okay, a little bit underwhelming. It was lacking in the flavor department. It needed just a pinch of salt and a lot more garlic. Maybe it was just an off day. Service was fine. Parking: free in plaza lot

Yelp
Came in for lunch and I was greeted warmly letting her know that I have a certain diet I'm following. Wow! Chef Kristin hooked me up with the perfect fish fillet dish steamed in lime sauce. So goood that it's now one of my new fav place. The atmosphere is cozy and clean too. Folks, bookmark this one for sure!

Yelp
Came here to meet up with an old colleague and we had a blast. Ambience here was amazing with a 2019 Michelin Guide. Food was delicious and very tasty. Our favorite was their Nem Nuong, a meat roll and Bu loc lac which is a filet mignon dice and cooked medium rare. Service was excellent and they're open until 9:30 pm. Plenty of parking. A must visit if you're in the area. Cheers!

Yelp
This place needs is one of my favorite vietnamese restaurants in Artesia! The place is clean and beautifully decorated. staff is friendly and very helpful in answering questions. Their drinks are delicious and have a generous amount of alcohol. We got seated in one of their comfortable and spacious booths. I got myself started off with a lychee martini. We ordered their famous corn cheese as an appetizer, then the claypot pork spare ribs, walnut shrimp, and garlic fried rice for our mains. Lychee martini- Sweet and refreshing with a good amount of alcohol. I felt my drink after a few minutes and enjoyed eating the garnish lychee at the end. Corn cheese- This has got to be the best version of this dish I've ever had. Perfectly buttery and cheesy and practically melts in the mouth. Has a hint of sweetness to it as well. Walnut shrimp- Engulfed in a signature sweet and savory sauce, the shrimp has a nice crunch outside and soft inside. The walnuts add an extra depth of texture. Claypot pork spare ribs- The meat is perfectly tender and the caramelized sauce is delicious and pairs well with rice. Served with a side of vietnamese kimchi that was nice and crunchy with a sweet-tangy taste. Garlic fried rice- Abundantly sprinkled with pieces of fried garlic and a must try for those who adore the herb like I do! Paired perfectly with our entrees. Thanks for a wonderful meal!

Yelp
Ordered salmon spring rolls Togo, it came with a delicious fish sauce dip. Salmon was really good. $9 for two salmon spring rolls. Get their penny wort drink, so good and refreshing. My go-to drink. Service was great!

Yelp
Everything we have eaten here has been very good. Also the service was fast and attentive. We tried the following: garlic noodles, toothpick lamb, salmon belly spring rolls. Our favorite was the pomelo salad! In fact this is my current favorite salad. We also tried the steamed whole fish, pictured below. It was delicious and moist. Last but not least, we met Kristin. No wonder the food is so good - she loves to learn about new ways of cooking and travels the world doing that!

Yelp
Met up for an early dinner with a couple of friends here on a Saturday, and we made a reservation but it was pretty empty so we didn't really need them. I appreciate that they take reservations though! They have both booth and table seating. It looks like they would be able to accommodate larger parties as well. The menu here is Vietnamese/Asian fusion focused, and it's pretty extensive! They have several noodle dishes, clay pots, seafood, meat entrees, hot pot, soups, and salads. Can't go wrong with a classic garlic noodle dish with shrimp. Tasty, garlicky, and a little sweet. Pretty good portion size too. I enjoyed this dish! Always a bonus when the parking situation is good! Plenty of parking in this plaza that's shared with several other businesses and eateries.

Yelp
Tasty food, friendly staff, nice ambiance, vegan/plant-based food available. While the menu doesn't list many vegan/plant-based options, the owner and chef Kristin offers vegan options and you can request that your fried food be fried in separate oil to minimize cross contamination with other fried meats. Some vegan options I enjoyed are: 1. Kung Pao tofu, vegan 2. Shaken tofu/Dau hu luc lac, vegan 3. Vegetarian chowfun noodles/ap chao chay, with veggies 4. Vegetarian rolls/goi cuon chay, vegan 5. Green beans with garlic The staff is always friendly, and everyone I've taken has enjoyed the food.

Yelp
Had a 10/10 experience at Garlic & Chives today for Restaurant Week! 3 time Michelin star chef, Kristen, came out and introduced herself, along with a full explanation of the entire menu! Suggesting different drinks, appetizers, and entrees. I've been here a couple times, but today's experience tops it all. Service was awesome, and the food was absolutely divine! Photographed: LA Times winning Best Salad in LA, the Pomelo Salad, and the Crunchy Chicken Wings. Not photographed: Mango-rita, Lychee Martini, Lemongrass Gin & Tonic, Shaken Filet Mignon over grilled vegetables, Garlic Noodles, and a Vermicelli Bowl with pork egg rolls.

Yelp
The holy crunchy chicken wings and caramelized salmon clay pot are my go tos here. The garlic noodles were just okay for me. The salmon just melts and is delicious. One thing I love about the place is that they really use lots of garlic in their food which for me gives sooo much flavor. I've been to their garden grove location as well this location has much more seating especially if you're a big group. The staff is really nice and very attentive.

Yelp
Having no other prior knowledge of this place besides the fact that it was recommended in the Michelin Guide at one point, we randomly came by for a weekday lunch before running errands in the area. Initially, we were kinda intimidated by the menu, as we thought it was just your regular pho/bun thit nuong type vietnamese restaurant. But there were some unique items that I was excited to see and ordered, like rice paper salad (Banh Trang Tron) and holy crunchy chicken wings (Canh Ga Chien Gion), along with the more commonly known grilled pork vermicelli (Bun Thit Nuong) and shaken beef (Bo Luc Lac). The prices are... pricey, but given the restaurant's pedigree, I guess it's justified. The food portions are generous and every dish was good. We have no complaints about the food! And those chicken wings *chefs kiss* damn, they were good. The only odd thing was the service and ambiance. We were 1 of 3 tables during what was a typical lunch hour, so that was kind of depressing. Music was kept low, as if they had just opened (or closing). Our server was nice, if not a bit inattentive. We had to ask for water more than once, for the same refill. And it appeared to be one of those manager acting as server type situations? I'm not sure, but maybe it's a sign of the times. Restaurants be struggling y'all; support your local stores!! All in all, I think I'd come back for a special occasion or celebration but probably not for a quick drop-in lunch. It's pricey, but at least the food is good. Yelp 2024 Adventures - 2 of ??

Yelp
Garlic and Chives' original location in Garden Grove was in the Michelin Guide as a Bib Gourmand selection in 2021 for its quality and value. It was recommended by Jonathan Gold in the LA Times as one of LA's top 100 restaurants. Nevertheless, I actually feel that this location is underrated. It's one of my favorite spots to eat in this area for Vietnamese food and it's usually easy to get a seat. These are my go to dishes: 1) Toothpick lamb: This lamb appetizer offers flavorful meat that's cumin forward without being too gamey. It's tender and delicious with plenty of garlic and cilantro. 2) Egg rolls: I love eating their eggrolls wrapped in generous amounts of lettuce and herbs. Wrapping it with fresh herbs and veggies gives a freshness that is really nice. 3) Salt and Pepper Shrimp. This is my favorite dish at this restaurant. The shrimp is nicely fried and the skin is carefully butterflied back. You get a garlicky and perfectly cooked shrimp, and you could eat the skin of the shrimp like a salty and peppery chip. You can't miss this dish. 4) Beef loc lac: Eating tender steak stir fried with peppers, onions, and garlic with a garlic fried rice is my ultimate comfort food. This is a fair rendition of this dish. Garlic and Chives and Vietnamese food, in general, are incredibly underrated. If you order these dishes, then you will be able to eat some flavor bombs. Let me know if you give any of these dishes a try!

Yelp
Very underrated place in Cerritos! We got an order of the tofu spring rolls, garlic noodles with chicken, and rice porridge with chicken. Tofu spring roll was great. Very light and fresh with some crunch. Peanut sauce was also on point. Garlic noodles were amazing! The chicken was a little crispy, but not breaded. Dish had a good amount of heat, but was not overpowering. Rice porridge was a perfect option for a cold day. Very warm and comforting. Service was very friendly and food was cooked fresh to order. The inside is very spacious. This would be a great place to get a group together. Also, prices are very reasonable considering portion sizes.

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday for lunch with friends to celebrate a birthday. Beautiful decor and there is also a private room with a long table for more privacy. Among the 3 of us, we ordered two spring rolls, beef and shrimp, the garlic noodles with tiger shrimp and two salads: pomelo and lotus root. The spring rolls order is only 2 rolls per order. The salads were definitely refreshing during this summer and they are able to put the dressing on the side as we asked but this time it was on it. Did think it was too much dressing making it a tad bit salty. Nonetheless it's a delicious way to get your veggie intake. It's a bit on the pricier side. Plenty of lot parking and excellent service.

Yelp
I'm sad to say I'd rather go to BIEN HEN or OC & LAU. The quality of the food was just not there. AMBIANCE: Empty on a weekday @ 7pm FOOD: $15 LOTUS ROOT SALAD: it was good! LOVED THIS! BUT there was only 2 pieces of shrimp cut in half & 2 shrimp chips on the plate. $18 GRILLED SCALLOPS: sooooo disappointed in these! They obviously put them thru a broiler cuz everything was BURNT. The scallops were over cooked and so tiny. I was so excited to get some seafood, I wish ordered something else. Because of this I won't be back here.

Yelp
Our good friend knows the owner/chef Kristin, So we let our friend ordered the dishes. The service, ambiance and decor are excellent! And all the dishes were super delicious. What an amazing chef! This is now one of my favorite Vietnamese restaurants !

Yelp
Amazing experience at Garlic and Chives! We were canceled by Wazabi Sushi - Orange last minute for our graduation party and Garlic and Chives #2 saved us. Kristin, the owner, was so accommodating. We had 25 guests and ordered so many great dishes. Our family and friends could not even decide which one is their favorite. Kristin reserved the beautiful private room for our party. She visited us a few times to make sure everything is going well. Everyone was so impressed with the food, service and "feel at home" hospitality. We are already planning the next group party to be held at Garlic and Chives! Thank you Garlic and Chives for making the graduation party a beautiful experience to remember. 5 stars is not enough!!

Yelp
I have had many amazing food experiences here that I leave in a food coma each time and feeling so satisfied. My last outing was for a birthday get together so we ordered dishes to eat family style. Their pomelo salad with a soft shell crab topper (off menu item) is off the charts delicious! This has got to be the best salad in town! We also love their honey walnut shrimp and if you want to splurge, try their lobster (much more expensive since lobster is by the pound but worth every ounce)! I love Garlic & Chives: great service, great food, & great ambiance! Love love love this restaurant is an understatement!

Yelp
If you're into Vietnamese Asian fusion seafood, this is a good place to start. Check in on Yelp ahead of time or you can head straight there. There's plenty of parking in the plaza but can get very busy as there are other popular restaurants. They're able to accommodate big parties but need some slight work on service. Our waiter had to double check on our order a few times and make sure we didn't have any peanuts as we had allergies. Of all the dishes we ordered, the shaken beef with sauce was one of the best along with the chicken wings. We were really there to try the scallops, razor clam and snails. The scallops were overcooked, razor clams needed some additional sauce and snails were super big. The bigger the chewier and the smaller they were, the juicier. I'm not sure if that's the preferred or how it's supposed to be. Overall it was a good dinner, but some dishes need a little more work.

Yelp
We ordered 4 dishes: Baked clams with garlic and chives, Charbroiled black tiger shrimp with garlic noodles, Hanoi Style Vermicelli with Grilled Pork, and Pineapple Basil fish. Everything was great. Lots of strong flavors. Like for the basil fish, it had a strong basil flavor and was spicy but it wasn't spicy for two of my family members. The clams were soft, juicy, and fresh. The garlic noodles were lovely and the tiger shrimp was juicy but the the perimeter can be a bit charred. The grilled pork is very flavorful and the vermicelli was good. The interior design is very nice and aesthetically pleasing and pretty. The service was decent.

Yelp
PROS: - The shaken filet mignon was pretty good along with the jasmine rice. - Our server was friendly and attentive. - The interior decor was very pleasant. CONS: - The garlic noodles literally tasted like they mixed it in some olive oil. Not very tasty. - The food her just wasn't that good and I don't know what the hype is all about. - This place is also fairly pricey for what you get. FINAL THOUGHTS: - I don't have to come back here and I don't I ever will. There are tons of other better Vietnamese places you can go to instead.

Yelp
I had the worst experience at Garlic & Chives on a Saturday night. As a party of two, we were seated after two large parties and a few smaller tables, but our food took over an hour to not even be ready. Despite following up multiple times, the staff kept giving vague excuses like "it's coming out soon" or "just another minute," yet there was no sign of our food. After waiting over 20 minutes beyond their assurances, we finally asked them to pack it to go since we were in a rush. Unfortunately, when we got to the car, we realized they had messed up the order and forgot our garlic noodles. To make things worse, the chicken roti was raw inside. We had to drive back, park again, and request a full refund. The whole ordeal made us late to our Sheng Wang show in Long Beach, though thankfully only by 5-10 minutes. This was easily one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had--poor service, excessive wait times, and inedible food. I won't be coming back. I wish they'd just tell us that two large parties just came in and that we would have to wait, but now they just lost us as customers.

Yelp
Last night at the Sta. Anita Donation Center, a donation drive for Wildfire victims , we saw a long line of people being served noodles. After volunteering as traffic enforcers, my friends and I decided to join the queue since it was cold, and a hot bowl of noodles sounded perfect. The pho was so delicious, we couldn't wait for seconds--it was restaurant-quality! Turns out, the soup was being served by Garlic & Chives, a Michelin-starred Vietnamese restaurant--talk about five-star service!

10/10 food and service! Must try items!: Toothpick lamb: never gamey Salmon belly: perfectly cooked with the right amount of fatty Calamari: tender and well salted Shaken beef: very tender and always love the assortment of veggies it comes with

Yelp
My wife and I were craving Vietnamese food and decided to try this restaurant based on some positive mentions in the LA Times and other places. It was a Saturday evening and the restaurant was 1/2 full, so plenty of tables available. We tried four dishes and the results were mixed. The pomelo salad was bright and refreshing. Definitely our favorite of the.meal. The grilled scallops were also very good. The lemongrass pork ribs could have been delicious but for the chewiness of the meat. Ribs should be more tender. The bun bo hue also tasted great, especially with a little bit of heat coming through. However the meat was much too chewy for our liking. To me, this is just poor execution in the kitchen and there is room for improvement. Our waiter Jose was very nice and friendly. We did share our concerns about the food with him so hopefully things improve in the future.

Yelp
Yooooooooooooooo! I usually get take out here if you vietnames chinese food fusion most of the dis though are mixed with sometimes to much spice my family didnt like it too much like the lil toothpick lamb were all a little too over cooked and dry. the only thing we enjoyed was the peking duck. the clams we sometimes get are also quite often over cooked. Service was very face we were hungry and food came out right in time since when I was there not many people were eating maybe 1/3 of the restaurant was filled on a weekday. Also got to try the lobster noodle and its good when its fresh, takeout it wasnt as good after we microwaved it and not much lobster was in the noodles. Not a place id come often, since my family doesnt like al the spices they use its in there salads, toothpick lamb, in the clams too. Ambiance was great since it still faiy new Nd bathrooms were clean. Best thing here for me was the pekking duck and the amount of veggies for the duck, i prefer it wrapped with thise peking duck tortilla looking thin wrapper instead of the pekking duck bun.

Yelp
This location is pretty chill compared to the one in OC. Food is amazing, decor is beautiful, and service is outstanding. I took my parents since we wanted carmelized fish and catfish soup. Didn't disappoint but the surprise yumminess was the fried salmon belly and I love love the mango papaya squid salad. I'm in OC but would rather drive to this location cuz I cannot deal with the craziness of the other location.

I enjoyed my meal here! First and foremost, the servers are the best. Both our host and server were incredibly sweet and friendly. Service was amazing! My group of 3 ended up ordering Shaken Beef with Garlic Noodle, Crunchy Sea Salt Garlic Fries, Crunchy Garlic Butter Chicken Wings, Thai Tea, and Avocado and Chocolate Smoothie. The food was great! It tasted less fusion and more Asian, if you know what I mean. Everything was cooked to perfection and tasty. Really liked the garlic noodle! Fries were addicting and the wings were juicy and crispy. I was a bit disappointed as they didn't have chocolate for my chocolate and avocado smoothie, so it ended up just being an avocado smoothie...not quite what I wanted. But the servers were so sweet and nice about it that I don't hold it against them too much. The menu is quite large so it is a bit overwhelming to know what to order. Overall, I really enjoyed our choices! And I'd 100% order the garlic noodle and fries again!

Yelp
Got garlic? Yes? Bring breath fresheners. Loved the pomelo salad served with shrimp, fried shallots, fried garlic, banana blossoms, carrots, onions, mint, peanuts and pieces of fresh pomelo and tossed in a slightly sweet vinegarette. I'm a big pomelo lover so most things pomelo or grapefruit I'd try. We also ordered goi cuon nem nunog (grilled pork sausage roll). Can't go wrong with fresh rolls. Aside from this we also ordered some glass noodles with shrimp and crab. This dish had lots of fried garlic too. Also, good and made to order. The avocado shake we ordered was refreshing and tasty as I expected. Made nice and thick with ice cream. Overall, good food and service.

Yelp
Tried this place this I loved their original location in Westminster. Been here a few times and the restaurant didn't seem all that busy. Customer service was great but food was lacking. We ordered their garlic noodles, shaken beef, salmon belly, and rolls. It was decent but quality is not the same as the original restaurant. The noodles was a bit more oily/greasy.

Yelp
This is the second location from Garden Grove is much larger in size with more seating. Chef Kristen is mostly splitting her time with her soon to open third restaurant Chinese Vietnamese cuisine. Chef Kristen welcomed our large party of 20 in the private dining room. She introduced the off menu selections she especially prepared. My favorite is the pomelo salad and shaking beef. Come here if you like Vietnamese cuisine with lots of garlic.

Yelp
Owner/Chef, very nice lady. She introduced herself and explained the menu. We were very impressed. Appetizers arrived after the main course of two of our party. I might say, we had to ask for the appetizers. We attempted to cancel them and was told they were prepared and about to be brought out. The two members of our party completed their meals. I never received my order. Curious, we asked for the check. My order was not included in the final check. That was reassuring. I asked for the Owner/Chef, she was gone. The Waitress asked the Black Cook to interseed.... Wow....we were offered a 20% discount. If I continue....it will only get worse, I think I made my Point!

Yelp
1st time visitors Plenty of parking available Located next to a chinese restaurant Came late and there was no one being serviced (but a party of 10 people came in after) Not sure if I was really impressed or maybe having to come back at another time Service was mediocre Interior dining was ascetically pleasing to the eye Large booths / tables Kid friendly, date night, full service bar, group outings Pricing a little on the higher side for the quality of food Ordered 4 dishes Stir fried eggplant 13 - tough firm exterior and rubbery skin (could of been cooked way longer), a bit oily but good garlic flavor Scallops 18 Size of tiny scallops but pot of filling with noodles masago on hot plate - it was pretty but nothing that made it stand out Bone Filet mignon peppers egg served with rice Filet mignon lacked flavor, they didn't ask how to cook it, it was tender but bland Pepper onions tasty combo Egg was sunny side up Lotus root salad I think was the star dish Filled with different veggies Crunch and textures Diff proteins Probably will try again during a diff time of the day but wasn't overall impressed with the food and service was basically take your order and here is your check and that was about it

Yelp
Stopped by for Sunday dinner with two friends at this Vietnamese fusion spot, and while we had some misses, I think I would still come back, since everything on their menu looks so good. We ordered the calamari (very underwhelming, partly because I prefer the squid tentacles over chopped up squid head, but we should've tried the Thai Calamari salad instead), the shrimp garlic noodles (MI TOI TOM XU NUONG), which was also underwhelming because I expected wayyy more garlic flavor than what was delivered, and they only give like 5 shrimps too in the dish, which was disappointing. Our saving dish was the Sticky Rice (XOI LAP SUONG, TRUNG, CHA BONG), that came in a small cast iron skillet, and was topped with pork floss, egg, and Chinese sausage. I haven't had Xoi Lap Suong before, but I loved it! It was slightly sweet with the coconut flavor and sweet meats, but it was very filling as a sticky rice dish. This was the perfect amount of food for the three of us, and overall, I think I would come back to try their other dishes.

Yelp
Been here a few times! Location is great -- right in the middle of many other dessert spots, etc. The service is amazing and they are very friendly. Everything tastes great for the most part. I'd highly recommend the noodle bowls and eggrolls, however, I wasn't a fan of the sticky rice/pork floss/chinese sausage dish. Overall, I'd come back!

Yelp
Excellent restaurant any time of day. Every entree was deliciously prepared. The standouts are the wings, corn, And lotus stem salad. We will return often.

Yelp
Of you're in the mood for delicious Vietnamese Fusion, then your come to the great place! The restaurant is very modern and upscale in its style All the dishes we sampled were very good. Their full bar is top notch. Our bartender new exactly what she was doing. Great place! Check it out.

Yelp
Pomelo salad is the only reason I regularly go here. I cannot recommend other items since the prices are quite high for the items. $18 for stir fried vegetables seem too much. Also seafood are pretty expensive for the quality and quantity of the items. The servers are usually pretty friendly but heavily depends on the server. The inside is spacious and somewhat clean for Asian restaurants.
