Where To Eat At Oracle Park

"Location: Sections 118, 144, 221, and 331 At this point, everyone, including that second cousin who visited one time and still calls the city “San Fran”, knows about the gilroy garlic fries. Get an order in a paper tray or ask for them in a big souvenir helmet—either way, they’re loaded up with so much finely diced alliums that the folks over at The Stinking Rose get a little jealous. Just keep in mind these fries have a short shelf life before they hit massive levels of sogginess, so be ready to eat up as soon as you get them. " - ricky rodriguez

Avg atmosphere, no music or anything and it’s kind of condensed into a wide halfway. Food is good, it’s definitely garlic themed and we really liked it. That said, food is pretty heavy on the greasy grill style. And the fry portions are not large. Service is nice, they’re just under-staffed. We went during late lunch and the hostess/owner was the only person running about 5-7 tables (20 people)

I came here with my friend today. I had never been here but had been wanting to try it. I’m glad I came because it’ll be my first and last time. They have limited seating and only one server. It was lunch time & pretty full so I understand why it’d take so long. However, they brought my friend’s coke, took our order and still had not brought out my coffee. I had to ask for my coffee and they told us they had to brew the coffee. I continued to wait. When my tiny cup of coffee arrived, she asked if I wanted flavored creamer and I said yes. She brought me creamer with some open containers. My first impression upon seeing this is they are not throwing away the empty creamers after they clean the tables. Second thought was this is unsanitary and disgusting. Someone else touched this and they didn’t bother to clean it or throw it away. When she came to take our order, I asked her what she recommended from several items. I asked her if the onions were grilled, she didn’t know and turned around to ask the gentleman, and walked away. She didn’t answer my question; she just walked away. When my sandwich arrived, it didn’t have any onions. The chicken was super chewy and semi cold. It was supposed to have chipotle but all I could taste was bbq- I am not a huge fan of bbq sauce. My mug was so small, I needed more coffee, but the server wasn’t coming over to our table. I placed the mug at the edge of the table so she could see it. We had to leave since we were on lunch, my friend went up to the counter to pay. The server wanted us to split it in half. My friend explained she wanted to pay for her food and I’d pay for mine. My friend and I left feeling so disappointed, especially after paying $17 for a dissatisfying sandwich.

Don't let the prices deter you, this is an amazing restaurant. The menu is confusing, but their dinner entrees include a soup or salad as well as toast. (Kinda disappointed it wasn't garlic bread). The pasta is great and very fancy, and the sauces taste freshly made. The portion sizes are huge and you could definitely share one. Try the garlic vanilla ice cream for dessert (; Very Unique

Food was great! Service was good. Seems to be family owned and operated. Not really welcoming/inviting, but not rude at all. Just kinda matter of fact. Again the food was really good, give it a try, I'm sure you'll enjoy it. Update December 2023: California Omelet and Joe's Scramble were both delicious. Denver Omelet was very good as well, to go on that one. Past visit I tried the Corned Beef and Hash with Eggs. It was okay but not really to my liking. Castroville Own Omelet was fantastic. I really liked the California Turkey Club Sandwich a lot. El Paso Cheeseburger is outstanding. A lot to like here for sure.

Followed a garlic truck into town and wasn’t disappointed. The garlic chicken sandwich came on delicious flakey French bread and the garlic cream soup was AMAZING. The garlic was so fragrant. The soup before the sandwich made me wish for a smidgen of salt on the chicken. My husband had the garlic burger which came fully loaded!!! The Gorgonzola mayo is funky but yummy. Garlic fries were lack luster and needed salt since they were just frozen crinkle fries with with delicious crumbled garlic n dry parm. Lots of lighter more Mediterranean options. Atmosphere was definitely old time Greek/tuscan diner. Price was appropriate for atmosphere but the food was worth more.

Google
A variety of foods from soups, salads, sandwiches, burgers, and pasta. They have outdoor dining which is pet friendly. Very reasonable prices for their dishes. Located in the heart of gilroy off the Main Street. Had the garlic soup, chicken breast for my dog, and mushroom chicken sandwich which comes with a side. Everything was bursting with flavor and the service was fantastic. Love coming here when I pass through town.

Yelp
I live in Los Angeles, and whenever I visit San Jose, I always make it a point to stop by here to dine in or get food to go. I discovered this place by chance, and ever since, it has become a must-visit for me. The quality is on par with that of a high-end restaurant. This time I ate Chicken and Prawns Pasta and to go Chicken sandwich and Garic French fries and my family said it was amazing.

Yelp
Decided to stop here as I was driving through Gilroy. But what surprised me was that the restaurant wasn't as garlic-themed as I would have expected, and it was much more of a locals' spot than a tourist trap. However, you can definitely get your garlic fix if that's what you want. We ordered the roasted whole garlic appetizer, house salad, chicken piccata, and penne pasta and prawns florentine. We got the latter two at the recommendation of the server, who suggested them when we asked what dishes contained a lot of garlic. We were originally going to order the cream of garlic soup as well, but the server helpfully told us that the entrees already came with clam chowder. The garlic appetizer had a small cup of garlic cloves in oil, roasted red peppers, olives, and a creamy sauce, with several slices of bread. The garlic was perfectly soft and fragrant. The entrees came in large portions and were pretty tasty, though a bit on the salty side. The garlic flavor was definitely apparent, as promised.

Yelp
I was actually kind of excited to try the The Garlic City cafe -- when in the garlic capital of the world, try their garlic!! I was surprised at how robust their menu was, sooo many options packed onto the menu, there's probably something for everyone. I ended up going with the garlic burger with garlic Parmesan fries and asked for the garlic pesto instead of the garlic aioli because I really dislike mayonnaise. They said it was no problem, but unfortunately they have a garlic pesto aioli AND and garlic pesto and I ended up with the aioli on my burger. I didn't want to send it back and cause a scene so I asked for the real pesto on the side and gave it to me and one of the managers *I presume* told me I should have parked for the pesto, not the "garlic pesto sauce." You don't know what you don't know though and since it was my first time, I didn't realize they had two spreads with similar names. Anyway, I scraped off the aioli and dunked the burger in the pesto and it was good. The fries were pretty good too and they refilled my iced tea a few times and gave me one for the road. All in all it was okay! The inside was small and not too flashy, but it was an okay place to stop.

Yelp
My husband and I had breakfast at this restaurant for the first time. They had very delicious omelets and we really enjoyed it. The waitress was very polite and kind. I recommend you try itthank you for your service and delicious breakfast

Yelp
Third time eating there we placed our order meanwhile we're watching the Cook make a salad with his hands no gloves ,then he walks into the kitchen with the same hands and throws meat on the grill. Turns around, goes back and put the toppings on the salad without washing hands, I asked the owner if she knew about it and she said it was OK so I told her we lost our appetite. Go ahead and cancel Our order, will never go back cross contamination is very unhealthy but she don't think so. I wish the health department would check them out , we will never go back.

Yelp
There's not many restaurants in the area that stood out to us, but this one caught our eye when we were scrolling. We decided to go here for lunch on a weekday and to our surprise, it was quite packed! The staff are very nice and sweet. The food was good but not super spectacular. Considering the options around here, I would say this is a great spot to stop by if you're in Gilroy.

Yelp
Omg! This is a gem of a place in Gilroy! This was our "special" meal of our trip and I'm glad we chose this over the other places we were looking at. Place is clean, bright, and inviting! We came in a little before 1pm on Friday and we were seated immediately (party of 4). Everything we ordered was great. I had the Garlic City burger and I love all the garlic that was in it. I couldn't finish it though because of how big the patty is. My husband's was the eggplant caprese panini and I got to try a bite out of it. My mind was blown by all the flavors it had. It was expertly crafted for a panini! Overall, I'd definitely recommend this to anyone new and want to try something from Gilroy! We'd definitely be coming back next time we're here. If I can give them more than 5 stars, I would.

Yelp
The food was amazing. It was recommended by a local winery and we will be back. The waitress was ver kind and didn't rush us at all.

Yelp
This is my go to place to have breakfast after work. Owner/chef and waitress super nice and personable. Food is fresh and cook to order. None of that precooked and heat up for you in the microwave kind of cafe/diner.

Yelp
We came here after noticing the restaurant we originally wanted to try was temporarily closed. Garlic City Cafe was across the street, so Gavin and I walked over and was seated immediately. It was quite empty on a regular Friday. Gavin was on his summer break, so I took the day off to take him to Monterey Bay Aquarium. Service was great. The menu was quite overwhelming. They had a lot to offer and as always, my eye is bigger than my stomach. I was able to control myself and did not overdo it this time. Gavin wanted waffles; he ordered their chocolate chip waffle. I ordered their portobello mushroom and garlic omelet. Instead of toast, I wanted the pancakes. What else can I say? I love American breakfast. The country potatoes were good, the omelet was good. The pancakes were light and fluffy. Gavin finished his waffle. I don't do anything in Gilroy, but I do have an aunt that lives there now. Maybe next time I will check out their lunch items. Gavin and I enjoyed our day date together as usual. My forever day one.

Yelp
I love this place. The food here is excellent!! So damn flavorful. None of this frozen food and reheat like most restaurants do. I highly recommend. Everytime I eat here the food is amazing.

Yelp
We ordered the Antipasto, which did not just came with great presentation but also tasted great, especially the cheese. The Sage Chicken too was so tender and the taste was so Gilroy ish, with great aroma of garlic. We closed with a Vanilla Garlic Ice Cream to end the evening with a memorable high note.

Yelp
This place is a surprise. For a large menu, the chef nailed both of our orders so well. Been to high end Italian restaurants and I can compare how at par the sauce he made. Pasta is perfect al-dente and the flavor is fresh. A place to stop by when you re in Gilroy.

Yelp
Nice little smalltown diner! We were passing through on a 1200 mile road trip and decided a perfect name for a restaurant in Gilroy is Garlic City Cafe. Service is great and the paining and sweet potato fries are wworth pulling in for! If you are near at meal time give this lace a try!

Yelp
This is a family run place and it shows. The staff go out of their way to be helpful and I've enjoyed every meal I've had here. The garlic soup is pretty darn tasty and whether breakfast or lunch, it's a good place to visit.

Yelp
The food here is absolutely delicious. All the dishes are amazing. The signature cream of garlic soup is a must! Creamy, umami, with diced potatoes! The bowl for $6.95 is an amazing deal. The egg battered calamari steak with pasta was our favorite dish. Comes with garlic, artichoke, caper, lemon, butter with cooked broccoli, carrots. The calamari cooked just right so it is easy to cut and chew. Best texture and not overcooked/rubbery. We licked the plate clean! We chose salad for the side and the leaves are crisp, the honey dijon mustard dressing are light and have the good kick of flavors sweet and spicy. We also ordered garlic chicken eggplant sandwich. Also amazing, cooked well, great combo of flavors with pesto spread. Comes with salad as well (you can choose other side options too, soup or fries). Chicken tenders have juicy chicken with crispy outside and fries are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside like they should be. Kids love them both! The food takes some time but worth it! Garlic items are amazing!

Yelp
I have lived in Gilroy just over 10 years now. Before this most recent visit I had only been here one time, eight years ago, and it was not good. So I had not been back. I don't know if I simply got an anomalous bad experience, or something has changed, but this visit our meal was amazing. I told my wife spontaneously that we were going out to breakfast - I just had to pick up trash downtown first! How romantic, right? She was surprised that I wanted to go to breakfast because my general policy regarding going out to eat is I either have to be away from home, or the restaurant must be able to do something that is incredibly difficult for me to do at home, better than I can do at home, or involves ingredients not easily sourced. That mentality makes it very hard to do what we did this morning and go to a local cafe. But we did. One could never say anything negative about the location of this restaurant, or the ambiance. Situated in the center of downtown Gilroy, it has that hometown feel and a few tables out right on the boulevard perfect for people watching. We were seated immediately and service for coffee and order taking was fast. Living by my credo above, I ordered the corned beef hash eggs benedict and my better half ordered the 8oz ribeye and eggs. Prices were very reasonable with todays inflation - steak and eggs was $22 I believe and came with choice of toast, short stack, or french toast. She chose the latter. I was surprised when my server asked how I wanted my poached eggs. I thought, right, like a restaurant can even do this any more, we'll see. This is where the only negative came in - don't expect a quick in and out for breakfast here. Clearly their kitchen is not prepared for a full dining room as our table was no different than others in that it took about 30 minutes for our food to come out - all the while I was thinking to myself, this had better be amazing... And, IT WAS! Both plates came out as if they just came off the griddle. My dish was beyond my expectations - The eggs were somewhere between easy and medium (ordered medium) but I would rather they be a tad under than over. The hollandaise sauce is rarely done right at most breakfast places - often even broken - this one was really good, sharp flavor, right temp, no chance this was sitting on the pass for a five minutes. The corned beef hash was good - most likely not homemade, but it didn't matter - it was properly grilled up before assembly. The country potatoes are something I usually never eat at a breakfast place because they are either cold, or worse, reheated. These seemed fresh from the grill/fryer and were delicious. My wife's steak was cooked nicely and the star, she said, was the salsa. I agreed. She wanted the recipe! French toast was good - not as good as mine at home - but nicely done. Overall, we'll be back and hope that we have another good experience - nothing I am more disappointed by than a place that does things right, sometimes. So crossing my fingers. Give it a shot, report back here!
google avatar

Trav H.

Yelp
The cook said he's been a chef for 25 years. If he's a chef I def need to become one because that steak had no seasoning dry as hell and was suppose to be medium well. Clearly wasn't med. and then still to decide to charge me for it with those over cooked noodles. It was all gross. Do not eat at this place. I'm going to make him go viral for this. With that over cook steak was the worst ever steak I had . And the waitress had audacity to also say my steak was med well. lol if I could give negative star I would. Straight trash and I still paid 45 dollars for this trash

Yelp
When in Garlic City, one must eat garlic of course! This is a diner-like cafe with limited ambiance but everything is well made! We enjoyed a relaxing and enjoyable meal in an unhurried fashion! We had garlic soup, garlic burgers and garlic fries! The soup was clearly homemade and quite tasty! The burgers each came with at least eight cloves of roasted garlic! Perfect! The fries could have been crispier. Next time, will order extra well done! We were pleasantly surprised with the food and the coffee was suitable strong! What else do I need? Nothing! Garlic focused food and coffee and life is good!

Yelp
Food is always on point. They make great comfort food with generous portions served by a kind hard working family. The pickles here and the ranch are the best !! I always get the same thing the contadina salmon salad. My husband always gets a gluten free cheese and bacon burger burger . They let him bring a bun of his choice and serve his burger up in it hot and perfectly grilled. We feel lucky to have a great place like this in our community. Its always busy because its so yummy so go early for dinner

Yelp
I have lived in Gilroy all my life......Garlic City Cafe is by far the best restaurant in town. They serve high end meals at a cafe price. The service is great. All staff are super nice and friendly. I can honestly say I have never had a bad meal. The chicken piccata is out of this world great. The pasta dishes are wonderful. All the salads are very fresh and not bagged lettuce. If you are vegetarian or vegan there are options that with a simple request can accommodate your wished. The is a top notch restaurant with great ambiance. I look forward to going here for any meal. You will not be disappointed. *The city of Gilroy is again doing construction that can interfere with a business. They are tearing up the parking lot behind all business along 5th and 6th street. Please patronize these establishments so we don't loose them.

Yelp
Service: 3000/10 Ambiance: Happy, Hard Working Workers and Amazing Chefs Food: Left me speechless. I have no words that can describe how good the food tastes the amount of effort and cooking skills. Def and will always come back. Taste and made with love.

Yelp
Overall pretty disappointed with the food. They weren't offering the garlic soup and they didn't have any ice cream (server said they ran out). Our order took a really long time to come out. Burger was dry, chicken sandwich was dry, fries looked like they came out of a bag of frozen fries from a grocery store. I think most of the meat/food was all frozen so it tasted like that. I was really looking forward to the place based on the reviews. Our server was really nice and always refilled our waters, but I can't recommend eating here.
google avatar

Yelp
The best hamburger I've had in California so far. We had the Garlic Burger. It was delicious and I didn't even need to add mustard or anything it was juicy enough without. And the flavor amazing. The meat was also good exactly as asked (medium)! The cafe itself is a skinny narrow dinning area. They had the front door open to allow the cool at in. The air was filled with the smell of garlic signature to the city. The staff and even the patrons were very nice. It felt more like being in another country dining in the evening than an American restaurant. It all around was the best.

Yelp
Do you love garlic? I grew up in Gilroy and it's in my blood! This restaurant on Monterey Rd. was excellent in their menu and food quality. I highly recommend you check it out as soon as possible!

Yelp
A locally owned business with extremely hard working couple that own the restaurant. Very reasonably priced!! Great food and a lot of it ! You will definitely be happy with the large portions.

Yelp
The waitress was so sweet. Very welcoming place. The food was wonderful. So glad we stopped here. The food is priced very decent. Not expensive at all especially for pasta. The place is very clean everything tasted really good. Definitely recommend if you're in town. Tomato soup was delicious!!

Yelp
Definitely not worth a visit. Only 3 tables here & our food took forever. Bland spaghetti. 4 ppl working and I'm still not sure why it's sooooo slowwwwwww. Found this place on Yelp. #Failed me

Yelp
Absolutely delicious! The place was a little quiet when we stopped by. There was some sort of festival going on with lots of vendors and food trucks. We ordered the garlic burger and the steak with crab stuffed prawns. The garlic burger had whole cloves or roasted garlic! Honestly, I wasn't sure what to expect of my steak dinner but was pleasantly surprised. It was tasty and the steak was cooked perfectly. The sauce was a little spicy, unexpected but worked out well. The service was amazing. The lady who was there was super tentative and so sweet. She was even concerned that we didn't eat much of our dinner. We did! We were only able to finish close to half. Oh, the leftover was just as good when we reheated it back at the hotel. If you are in town, stop by! We definitely will next time we visit Gilroy!
google avatar

Pat T.

Yelp
The food is consistently delicious, and the portion sizes are generous. I always opt for pasta or sandwiches and have never been disappointed. I highly recommend it!

Yelp
The food here is good. We ordered the Gilroy Garlic burger , shrimp pasta and, Alfredo. All thee dishes no complainde, but just like many other Yelp reviews said, the server owner lady has little attitude. She's kinda rush with order and seems impatient. She is not nice. I know she is the owner because there was a picture of her and her husband there. I'm unsure if that is just her personality but it makes the experience a little bit unpleasant. The restaurant is small, cozy and standard clean. Maybe because family business so you may need to wait for a long time for food to arrive. I guess maybe just come here for the food but ignore or don't give too much expectation for services.
google avatar

Shannon L.

Yelp
After a hot but fun day at the Gilroy gardens, I needed some food. I wanted garlic fries. This restaurant brought them! They were crispy and not soggy. Vegetarian options are a plus. Prices are good. The restaurant wasn't crowded and the service was good! Only complaint is the flies I spent shooing off my body and food the entire time I was there due to the open front door. I hope they consider a cheap adhesive screen mount if a screen door isn't possible. It was a nuisance throughout the meal.
google avatar

Yelp
Charming! It was raining, so we drove over to Gilroy to hit the outlets. We wanted to try something different for lunch so we selected Garlic City Cafe from the Yelp reviews. The place was packed for a Tuesday lunch. There was only one table available. We knew we were in a good place! We ordered the grilled chicken salad and the tuna melt. The ingredients were simple but excellent. Everything was prepared with fresh ingredients. It's the great farm to table meals we all want without the unnecessary flash. I wish we had tried the garlic soup but we will save that for the next visit!

Yelp
worst service, I stop at this place to enjoy a breakfast, My order was served wrong for the second time, I told the owner, which happens to be the cook. I said this is the second time i come here and you serve my order wrong, he responded I don't know why you come back. Wow! after you give my order wrong, and I worked with you not remake it you tell me not to come back. Please Remember, we are part of your economy, we like to consume local, but please don't mistreat customers. Update: We try to pay our order, Owner one more time comes won't accept my pay, I am not asking for free food. He said. I don't want your money, I don't want your business, wow so I told every customer there how unprofessional his service was. Please don't come here, if you are an owner you don't treat people bad ! You messed up my order, I told you, not to remake it but please be careful. The you act this way, no Mr. and to his wife, thank you , you are awesome, I love your service but your husband was not polite nor delivered a professional service. I understand we may have bad days, but to treat people this way, unacceptable!

Yelp
My friends and I had lunch here previously and enjoyed our experience, really loved the soup, so we went back. Unfortunately, we did not have the same experience as before. The waitress, who might be the co-owner was so rude. Not a smile, nasty tone of voice, not accommodating at all. We should have cancelled our orders and left.

Yelp
When in Gilroy one must try Garlic City Cafe. We wanted a local restaurant that served seafood. We tried the Blackened Salmon that was served with the fluffiest risotto. The Seafood Linguine was super flavorful, both made-to order and served piping hot. The blue cheese salad was a great starter and the freshly baked bread was paired nicely with our entrees. Casual Dining with a hometown feel. Family-owned and run for over 15 years. Will definitely come back.
google avatar

K Joy R.

Yelp
Food and service was just okay sorry to say. I did have high hope too based on other reviews. Prices much higher than shown online for food we wouldn't be going back for. Feel bad but gotta be honest for others. Out of the three plain tasting dishes we ordered the house salad that came before my meal I asked for blue cheese dressing and it was white water, best way I can describe. I tried to eat it but couldn't. Blue cheese is thick with chunks of blue cheese I don't know what that was. My sons Alfredo was bland as can be. He didn't eat much. We just ended up eating elsewhere shortly thereafter. Wasted $60+

Yelp
The food was very tasty and fresh. Chicken was tender and juicy. I ordered garlic chicken sandwich and garlic chicken with eggplant panini. For the side I ordered garlic fries and potato salad. The panini was a bit heavy for me, but my friend loved the sandwich. I on the other hand enjoyed every bit of garlic chicken sandwich. The potato salad was average, however at this restaurant I had the best garlic fries ever. The service was quick & server was very friendly. There's plenty of parking spots on the side of the street. Would definitely come back to explore more of the menu.

Yelp
For a small town like Gilroy, this place is pretty decent. They have a nice menu with lots of different choices to choose from. Very traditional American food. The waiters in this small are pretty nice. The only down side is they took a long time for our food to be ready. We waited for 20mins and the restaurant wasnt even busy. Also, when paying, if you want to split the check (putting more than 1 card) they add an additional $1 fee to every card which us outrageous because no other restaurants does that.

Yelp
Oh my word! Amazing little place. Had a minor battle with the grandkids about where to lunch at, they wanted the usual mystery meat nuggets or similar, I wanted something unique. I asked yelp for help and my inner explorer vibe told me that since we were in Gilroy, this had to be the place for lunch. I'm so glad we were able to locate the place. Not only was the service exemplary, but the food was amazing as well. The grandkids had a request or two, even some customization of an existing dish. The need was met and both staff and our party loved everything we were served. Everybody cleaned their plates. I had the Garlic City French Dip and have to admit that it was wonderful. If we are ever back in the area, this will be the place to go for a meal.

Yelp
Wow. Stopped in Gilroy on our way to the Bay Area. Looks like an order and eat place but it is a sit down restaurant. The food was so good! Roasted beet salad and bucatini pasta were amazing. Staff were very kind and friendly. Definitely recommend and if ever in the neighborhood will come back.

Yelp
HIDDEN UNDERSTATED GEM!!!!! This place should only receive 5 reviews. Family owned and operated (Father and son cook, Mother and daughter serve), friendly, caring, down-to-earth service and vibe, BUT THE FOOD IS ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING!!!!! Everything on the menu is excellent, if you need suggestions just ask, BUT THE QUALITY, THE TASTE, & THE DETAIL OF PLATING IS MICHELIN STAR LEVEL. Check out the photos alone of their latest addition to their menu, their Chicken Cordon Bleu - Best I've ever had. STRONGLY RECOMMEND AND WILL ABSOLUTELY RETURN.

Yelp
Craved garlic bread and this place did not disappoint. My pasta dish had chicken and shrimp and was good. My lunch dish came with soup as well.

Yelp
I am not a huge fan of garlic. Haha I know I live in the city of Garlic how ironic! My husband and I recently moved to Gilroy, he has tried a couple of places here before we relocated and Galic city Cafe was one of them. We came to this cafe for brunch and at first I was a big skeptical if I would like them food knowing that most of their dishes had garlic in them. I chose the Caesar salad which had their own caesar dressing infused with garlic and OMG it was delicious I finished the entire plate. My husband chose one of the burgers (I totally forgot which one ) I usually do not eat burgers but he was eating the burger with so much passion it looked so tempting so I had to snag a bite. The patty was juicy and had a bit of a spicy kick to it aswell! The workers were so kind to us and made sure they waited on us as quickly as possible. Will 100% be there every Saturday!

Yelp
I just had to try something garlicky when I'm in Gilroy, and with a name like garlic city cafe I was sold. We ordered the garlic cream prawns Florentine pasta, extra garlic bread, and garlic fries. So first, the garlic cream pasta was fine, tasted pretty good and flavorful, but I felt like for a place called garlic city cafe it could have MUCH more garlic. What confused me was the garlic bread. We saw the server carry plates of pasta with cross section cut garlic bread on the same plate as the pasta to other tables. Then we ordered extra garlic bread on the side, but none of our plates came with slices of garlic bread, we only received the side order of garlic bread itself. The bread also looked nothing like the other bread I saw. It seemed like a half loaf of French bread that was toasted with some garlic butter. It also arrived cold and pretty stale, a disappointment. The bottom of the bread was hard and difficult to chew through, the top was lacking garlic flavor. I didn't think it was possible to mess up garlic bread but I was proven wrong. The garlic fries were good and probably my favorite part of our order. The servers were nice, but it took a long time for us to order and receive the food, which is understandable as I assume they're understaffed.
