Garlic Crush Review - Bellevue - Seattle - The Infatuation

"Garlic Crush is an Eastside Greatest Hit for many reasons. Their falafel is excellent, their lamb/beef gyros are excellent, their shawarma is excellent, their hummus is excellent, and their baklava is also excellent. Service is fast, and takeout travels well if you’re taking your food back to Seattle. It’s not a place you’d hit up for the interior atmosphere, but but bring a group and line up a few outdoor tables for a Mediterranean feast that’s amazing every time. (Or have a feast by yourself)." - Aimee Rizzo

Ordered chicken plate and falafel sandwich from DoorDash from here. My wife found hair inside her sandwich. We had to throw that, garlic fries were underwhelming and chicken plate was okay. But the hair ruined everything for us.

Google
The food has great flavor, very fresh taste. Love the chicken kebab salad.

Google
Soulless, bland, disappointing. Chicken, hummus were so lacking in flavor. Tabbouleh was equally tasteless. Not an ounce of love in this food. Their "large" tabbouleh that they charge $11.50 for barely even qualified for a small.

Google
Excellent, delicious food, we ordered Veggie Mezza plate and Falafel sandwich. Both were excellent choices..you have an option to choose how hot ..very hot was our choice. Not much of a place to look or sit but five stars for the food.

Google
We love Garlic Crush!! The chicken kabobs are so tasty and tender, the lentil soup is top notch, and their hummus is the best! Mostly we order for takeout. (The restaurant interior is basic, but clean and comfortable for eating there.) The people who work there are super nice. Highly recommended.

Google
I've been here a few times now and I really enjoy it! Great chicken schwarma wrap and fries. There is a combo to get a wrap and a side which is nice too.

Google
The food is super delicious here, if you are a garlic lover, this is the place for you. The service was great and very friendly. The food came out in a timely manner. The dining area is quaint. Overall experience was great.

Google
I’ve been a customer of this restaurant for the past 9 years. I drive all the way here to have their lentil soup. That soup it’s now so watered down that it’s more like a broth. Portions are about 3/4 of what they once were. It’s sad to see how “shrinkflation” is affecting this business. I don’t think I’ll return to this restaurant after what they’ve done to the food.

Yelp
The food came to us pretty quickly and the food tasted pretty good for the price! The fries were a little too salty for me but other than that it was pretty solid for "fast food" I wouldn't recommend eating here because the area is not the best but the employees are super nice. I'll come again for take out if I ever need a quick tasty bite!

Yelp
The food is mediocre, the establishment is clean, and the service is good. If you value your hard-earned money, READ ON. We entered this nicely kept facility expecting great service paired with excellent food at a good price. What we got was only 1 of those 3 expectations met (i.e., great service). The prices were way too high for the food that we received. At gourmet prices, you'd expect the food to be good. Well, alas, the food was insufficiently seasoned and the beef "sandwiches" (more like wraps) were RAW!!! This is inexcusable. Rushing food out without checking that it is properly cooked is a dangerous thing to do, as someone can get ill. I unfortunately ate a piece of raw beef and was ultimately left with a bad taste in my mouth. Once bitten, twice shy.

Yelp
I have been eating at Garlic Crush for several years now and I love their chicken shawarma plate with extra garlic paste. Today for some reason it wasn't available on Door Dash so I ordered the Beef and Lamb Shawarma plate and I was so disappointed by the quality of the food. The meat was rock hard and so dark it looked like pieces of shoe leather and had a weird smell. I had to scrape off most of the meat as it was inedible and disgusting to eat. I will be calling the restaurant tomorrow to request a partial refund.

Yelp
Our go to for real Lebanese cuisine in Seattle pickup or delivery. Their garlic sauce is addictive and their chicken shawarma sandwich is too. Also, gyro plates, shawarma plates, baba and hummus are all excellent. Their lentil soup is a must with plates, so lemony delicious!

Yelp
Late this afternoon early evening I tried to purchase food and paying by cash. Unfortunately the seattle location of garlic crush stopped accepting cash in September 2023. The other garlic crush locations in Issaquah and Bellevue still accept cash. My credit cards were maxed out so I couldn't make a purchase at garlic crush seattle. Many people who dont have credit or debit cards at their disposal and this new cashless policy is elitism!! Since I was hungry I walked next door to the qfc service deli to purchase some hot food with cash. I went onto Facebook messenger explaining my situation on garlic crushes Facebook account. The response I received from management on Facebook messenger from garlic crush management was ignorant, rude and not understanding toward my situation!! Maybe garlic crush seattle is doing so well that they didn't need my $35 cash purchase!! I will never ever return to garlic crush seattle again but maybe I will return to garlic crush Bellevue. Or maybe garlic crush is a ruthless business!! Also I found an old garlic crush giftcard in my apartment and the garlic crush in seattle refused to accept it because they got a new register system. Terrible!!

Yelp
Horrible.! The food here is NOT authentic and the meat is dry. SUPER OVERPRICED and they add too much garlic to everything. $20 for dry lamb and overcooked rice.? Never again.!!! Wasted $70 for a 2 person meal, i'm never eating here again, they ruined garlic and Mediterranean Food for me and my wife.!

Yelp
I haven't been to Garlic Crush in years and decided to revisit after craving some Mediterranean food. Maybe it's my taste buds developing or maybe it's the quality going slightly downhill, but I was disappointed! $50-60 for 2 people at a fast casual establishment is on the pricier side, especially if you had high expectations :( I ordered the beef kebab plate with a side of lentil soup, my partner ordered the chicken shawarma plate with upgraded garlic fries, and we shared a small greek salad. Food wasn't bad but it wasn't anything special, especially for the amount we paid. It also doesn't help that their menu board doesn't list the prices. On a positive note, the place is super clean and the service is fast and friendly. Also, it's located right on Broadway with big windows - perfect for people watching.

Yelp
I gave the Seattle location another chance after almost a year. The serving sizes are back to normal. The chicken kabob salad was not shorted as it was in the past. My boys enjoyed their chicken kabob plates. Looking forward to enjoying more meals when watching Sounders games.

Yelp
Didn't care for my gyro, but the garlic fries were on point! I think my husband liked his vegetarian plate.

Yelp
Great place for some Mediterranean food. It's not a super fancy place but the food is the deal. Chicken kebab is great! The food is even better than the fancy Mediterranean restaurants I have been to in the area. The staff is nice as well. Highly recommend this place. Their garlic sauce is to die for
google avatar

Yelp
Little pricier than other mediterranean places but given how much I enjoyed the meal I can totally forgive that. The chicken shawarma plate was absolutely packed with shawarma, rice, hummus, and the yummiest toum. It came with a warm pita and choice between soup or salad (chose salad). Thought I'd be able to split it into 2 meals but it was so good I couldn't help eating it all even when I felt myself getting fuller. That's how you know it's a great meal

Yelp
This place really went down the tubes. Haven't been in 3 years so I took a gamble. I have been coming here since it was Mediterranean Express and they were good but I've been a GC fan for ages so I was stoked when they took over. I ordered the Falafel sandwich per usual and let me tell you, boo boo. Paper thin peta, no cucumber or onions. Just halved falafel, pickles, hummus and tomato. The falafel has good flavor but was like a flattened brick. Customer service wasn't great. Order took over 15 minutes with no one in front of me. They don't have Apple Pay. Overall for $10.50, don't bother at this location.

Yelp
Ambience. B Service. B??? Food. Price. A Found on Broadway outside street side of the QFC. My first time here, but I know this place has been here for years. Service is friendly, but getting 5 people to try and explain the difference between a gyro sandwich vs schwarma sandwich was so confusing!!! English seemed a little difficult in here. I got that sauces are different, but people kept confusing I wanted different meats?!!! Even though there's a lamb gyro and lamb schwarma. I ordered schwarma since I wanted tahini and hummus sauce with my meats. No prices are in the menu board so downloaded the web menu. My schwarma beef lamb was $10+ The light grilled tortilla with lettuce tomatoes and tahini were good. Unfortunately, I thought the sliced off meat was dry...if it weren't for the sauces of tahini or hummus, this would have been a dry tasteless sandwich. There's a big turnover of food during my time at lunch... don't know why the meat was way over cooked and dry. Sigh. I've definitely have had better. There's a long list of takeout and pickup orders. So I had to wait over 10 mins as each sandwich is prepped to order. Today. Not a fan...

Yelp
It was fine but not great. I did not feel it was worth the cost. I would skip this one next time

Yelp
I frequent Garlic Crush in Bellevue, and I am always satisfied. The Chicken Kebob is my go-to, as it is char grilled yet juicy/moist. Roasted peppers and saute onions are a nice compliment. Cap Hill is full of eager groups of young, stylish Mil/Z types, rendering this old dinosaur feeling lost and out of place with the super "hip" foodies running about. I was discouraged to haunt many establishments due to my "simple and hungry" disposition. Entering Garlic Crush, I found the tables had several single guys eating quietly and a line of Uber eats fellows waiting for pick up. It appears this little shop was a haven for lonely/single/working dogs on a busy weekend night that just needed two things-good food and to be left alone. Thanks to this place for being a refuge from the pretenses of eating "importantly" in a stylish nabe and giving this blue-collar guy good grub at a good price with a good company of solo compatriots....

Yelp
Horrible! Gyro meat was dry and burnt. Rice was undercooked. This place is not a good replacement to the place that was there. Mediterranean express was so much better. Now I'll only go to Med Mix in Central district.

Kelsey M.

Yelp
Absolutely terrible. I ordered Greek fries and they were cold. The meat looked like it was burnt and from hours ago. Disappointed.
google avatar

Yelp
Food: 5 Service: 4 Ambiance: 4 Garlic Crush is inconsistent, but when it's good, it's great. If the garlic fries were cheaper, I would get them every week; they are to die for. I've had their gyros, shawarma, and plates. They're not the best that I've had, but it's hard to argue with. The prices are expensive and despite there being better alternatives, Garlic Crush is a nice treat if you're in the area and craving Mediterranean.
google avatar

Andrew ..

Yelp
Chicken shawarma was decent and the lentil soup was pretty good. Really did not care for the gyro. A to-go order with a soup and rice pudding could have used some utensils in the bag, I'm just saying.
google avatar

Yelp
Don't be scared by the bad reviews. If you look closely at the bad reviews, all of them say that the food is good (which it is). Instead they nit pick about small things which probably won't matter to most people. As for the food itself, it's delicious. I've been eating at the Bellevue location for years and hoping they would open closer to home. My favorite is the chicken kabob platter. The chicken is super tender and juicy with a wonderful zesty marinade. It comes with the best lemon chicken soup I've had. And I can't get enough of the garlic sauce it also comes with.

Yelp
How the heck am I first person to review the newly taken over Garlic Crush? But let me tell you, I'm glad I am! My first time at Garlic Crush was in Bellevue. My good friend (IG:kee.bites) introduced me to the fresh and delicious Mediterranean food that Garlic Crush had to offer. Like the time in Bellevue I had ordered the Beef and Lamb Gyro Plate ($12.95). You get a choice of soup or salad, plus a hot pita. The gyro meat comes more in a think strip form, laying on a bed of rice and mixed with onion and covered with a nice smattering of tzatziki sauce. Fresh herbs and spices melded everything perfectly together. The portion size is enough to share, or have for left overs later. The quality of the food hasn't changed from the Bellevue location to the Cap Hill location, and still keeps me wanting more... with more tzatziki sauce. I'm not ever a lamb fan, but somehow Garlic Crush had done something magical to trick my taste buds into loving the lamb on the gyro plate. Prices seem to vary a bit from the website to what is actually posted in shop. Probably trying to win over the college and university kids. But let me tell you, Garlic Crush you've won me over. Thanks for being delicious Garlic Crush! Keep up the good work!
google avatar

Je'Tara J.

Yelp
Listen, hands down this is the best Mediterranean spot in Seattle. The Garlic Fries are bomb by themselves but I add the gyro meat to it and baby when I tell you, it'll make you slap somebody's mama (because I'm not slapping my mama, she slaps back) - you'll slap her into oblivion! The gyro meat is extra and they're always confused when I order it this way but man, it's good. I'm from the south, so fries for us always have a topping on them. Trust me, get the garlic fries with the gyro meat on top and extra garlic sauce!! It's delicious and filling. Leave me a compliment if you ever try them this way!
google avatar

Yelp
Eaten here twice both times food was amazing- quick delivery yummy foods. I've ordered gyros chicken and lamb- both were great. The garlic/ Parmesan fries were super good and The hummus with the pita is a great starter. No complaints outside of ordering thru UBER eats it is challenging to modify or add extras
google avatar

Maryam K.

Yelp
Garlic Crush is my go-to takeout place! I love that they are always quick without compromising on flavor and freshness (portions are also super generous). If you're not sure what to try, I'd recommend the Beef and Lamb Shawarma plate. Adding as a note since I haven't seen any reviews mention, but everything on the menu is halal!
google avatar

Yelp
We stopped by whole driving through on a rainy day. I got a falafel sandwich and my man got the gyro sandwich. They had people waiting In the rain even when no one was in the restaurant. I get its the covid era but it was raining.. We got the garlic fries too. Food was mediocre at best. The falafel had no flavor. The wrap was stale. None of the flavors came together. Plus it wasn't warm. The gyro was runny and tasted like old meat. As for the fries, we ate immediately they were cold.. there's no coming back from cold fries. $25 and we ate less than half of it and tossed the rest. Sorry but we will not be going back.

Yelp
I've had food from Garlic Crush delivered to my office 3x this week for lunch and I was satisfied each time. I ordered the same thing everyday - classic gyro with a house salad. Both items came in good portion sizes and were very good. The gyro is pretty much all meat which is nice because I just add some of it to my house salad. This review is based solely on the food I've been delivered. I've never actually been inside Garlic Crush so I can't speak on the actual restaurant itself.
google avatar

Kathy N.

Yelp
Came here during my lunch break. I thought the food was alright, although the flavors were a little sour (not in a spoiled way; more like yogurt sour) and saltier than I would like. I don't eat Mediterranean often so I can't compare too well so take that opinion w a grain of salt. The serving size was plentiful, good for one hungry person, or enough for 2 small servings. A little pricy after tax and tip. Personally I would not return unless I'd have to but this isn't a bad place to get food from, from what I can tell
google avatar

Jake B.

Yelp
Got the job done for sure! The wrap was really solid, and exactly what I was looking for. It was simple, but in a good way. Would recommend if you're looking for something fast and easy!

Sumara J.

Yelp
The sandwiches here used to be higher caliber. Went 10/8/23 evening and the chicken shawarma was a sticky mess, hugely oversauced, the chicken not even grilled this time but more like boiled, cold, and three days' worth of salt in the thing. Got a really bad stomach ache, I think it was all the salt that functioned in effect like a saline laxative. Sorry for the brutal review but wish I could get my $$ back, it was so untasty and downright unhealthy. The cooks are currently clueless and untrained. GYRO HOUSE on north end capitol Hill much better.
google avatar

Nancy S.

Yelp
Chicken schwarma and garlic fries from here are just delish!!! They give generous portions too which is always nice when you are hangry ;) Simple food that tastes great!!!
google avatar

Saahil V.

Yelp
Great Mediterranean food and even better service! My wife and I wanted to try something new for lunch and we decided to go to Garlic Crush. She ordered a Chicken Shawarma sandwich combo and I got a Chicken Sharma plate. The plate had awesome flavors. A medley of spices and dips. The garlic dip was to die for and the hummus was great too. The chicken and rice were not exceptional, but the overall experience was great. My wife ordered her sandwich without the tzatziki sauce and tahini. Apparently there was a house sauce that she forgot to get without, since it was not a part of the description on the menu. But the staff was courteous and got a replacement sandwich instantly. Great service, great food and great location.

Yelp
I'm not sure if the cashier is always like this but it seems like he was having a bad day by the way he took his frustration out on the customers. He was extremely rude and aggressive, not only to me and my friends, but also the customers in front and behind us in line! We came about an hour before closing. The people in front of us wanted to dine in (which was allowed per the sign on their door) and he got mad and said they were closed for dine in and then passive aggressively said "it was fine" and that they could? Then he was rude to my partner and I when we were ordering and was very aggressive towards us. The people after us ordered and asked if they could use the bathroom and he completely ignored them and they asked 4-5 times before he finally acknowledged them. I don't expect the BEST service or even GREAT service but I was only there to order food and leave and it's just kinda crappy that he took out his anger on some unassuming customers like that :/

Mariam A.

Yelp
I like their sandwiches. They are Yumi. I usually take chicken shawarma with extra garlic sauce. The only downside is the meat is always cold. I wish they heat it before they make the sandwich.
google avatar

Urba M.

Yelp
Love their chicken shawarma, garlic sauce and fries! Quick pickup and delivery options and great for on the go sandwiches.
google avatar

Jane M.

Yelp
M glad i tried Garlic Crush.. really good place for some reasonably priced delicious mediterranean food..we tried the garlic fries and the cauliflower (a MUST try) and the chicken kebab plate and the chicken shwarma plate..i personally loved the spices and flavors on the cauliflower and the chicken kebab plate.. it was delicious and the chicken was super juicy and tasty..we dint have to add on any more flavors or spices..the pita and hummus were delicious and so was the garlic tahini..we enjoyed our meal and wish they open another one at Belltown or in Queen Anne!! Until then we will drive here!!
google avatar

Yelp
Ordered take out from this place. I ordered the veggie mezze which clearly mentioned that it comes with Pita bread. However they forgot to send the Pita & did not send any utensils. I had nothing to eat the hummus & baba ganoush with. For 14$ they just give you 2 pieces of falafel in the veggie mezze which was very disappointing. The food itself was pretty decent hence the 2 stars. But I would pick another place for takeout, since these folks cannot get their order right.
google avatar

Zack F.

Yelp
I placed an order at 8:30. It's going on 11:30, the restaurant is closed.... Still no food. No call, no update, no dinner I guess. Pretty terrible customer service.
google avatar

Bex B.

Yelp
Ordered the veggie platter and the lamb/beef shwarma platter. I really loved the baba, pickled turnips and the garlic sauce. I was so happy to get the food because it reminds me of home. We called in the order while at a near by brewery. We will be ordering again from a different location to see if the chain is just as good around town.

Sebastian T.

Yelp
Ridiculous and insulting really. I ordered a chicken kebab sandwich. Cut it in half and this is the amount of chicken kebab that I got throughout the whole sandwich. Might as well call it a veggie sandwich and not try to fool people.
google avatar

Kristin O.

Yelp
We have ordered to-go food from here. It is a tasty, inexpensive option but it definitely depends on what you order. Negatives: the gyro plate isn't great. The rice was bland and the plate needed sauce. Positives: classic gyro and garlic fries are delicious and definitely worth trying.

Anonymous A.

Yelp
Unsafe and unhealthy. Or just negligent towards the health of their customers. I found a bug in my salad.

Destiny O.

Yelp
Today I placed an order on Uber eats for a chicken kebab plate with pita +1 extra pita bread . After arriving home I discovered both pita breads were covered in green mold and smelled old . Unacceptable to be serving customers out dated old food . I politely called the Restraunt to inform them , and WILSON "the supervisor" was very rude and told me they opened a new pack today and it can't be old . So I saved the receipt and let him know I'm driving all the way back there to show him his old food he denies . Don't recommended eating here unless you want to get sick from workers knowingly serving spoiled food .
google avatar

Danielle M.

Yelp
Not my favorite Greek restaurant I've ever tried. Zoë's was my go-to place in Texas but it looks like that chain is not in Washington. The hummus could have had more seasoning/flavor and same with the rice. This was my first time trying falafel and it peaked my interest but I'll be on the hunt for another Greek place in town. I will say the Greek salad was amazing and I would go back just for that if I am looking for a light lunch!
google avatar

Emma K.

Yelp
I ordered the Chicken Shawarma Plate and some Spanakopita, neither were particularly... good. At all, really. The rice had no seasoning and wasn't cooked all the way, the spanakopita was cold. It's all plated very lovely, but the taste does not align.
google avatar

Sid B.

Yelp
I went there with my son to have a good time, I can't even remember the food quality, my issue was with one their imployees who was on break talking on speakerphone not far from me for quite a long time and it was loud. I asked nicely someone who works there to tell her to use headphones, she ignored him, When I finished I told her I appreciate you ignoring me, she was very rude and told me to go ahead and complain. I don't think anyone deserves to be treated like that, one think for sure, I ll never set a foot in that place ever again.
google avatar

Olena V.

Yelp
I have mixed feelings about this place and I would rate it 3.5 stars overall. Pros: - Delicious garlic fries. - Decent and generous portion sizes. - Fast service: we only had to wait 5 minutes for our order to be ready. Cons: - All our food tasted extremely dry: my gyro lacked tzatziki sauce and my boyfriend's plate was really dry as well. - The food tasted okay but nothing spectacular. - The man who ran the register was not very friendly.

Yelp
Was in Seattle for a small vacation with my man from NM. We were exhausted and starving in our hotel room and decided to order delivery from Garlic Crush. (The photos looked SO good) We ordered 2 Gyros and an order of garlic fries. I'll say the Gyros were huge compared to what we were used to back home and the fries were big enough for us to share. Unfortunately everything was extremely dry.. there seemed to be no sauce? Seasoning? Juice? We had about 3-4 bites of our Gyros, tried a few fries and finally tapped out. It was almost as if we needed to chase our food down with water. Not sure if it was just because it was delivered/dried out or just sucky quality.. I really wanted to enjoy the fries. I'm a slut for potatoes. The spices along with the (feta?) cheese, and garlic sauce was delicious! Again.. wasn't very appetizing since the fries were so starchy. I think whenever we do come back to Seattle, I'd be willing to try this place out again in person!

Kea K.

Yelp
I ordered a kabob plate like I do every week but this time the bread was covered in MOLD! I called to let the staff know, not to ask for a refund but which honestly I'm entitled to after this discovery, but to make them aware of the unsafe bread they are selling. When I called Wilson informed me it was impossible that the bread was molded because " I opened all the bags today" his rude and pompous tone made me decide to publicly post a review. This could have easily been resolved with better customer service.

Madison P.

Yelp
Way overpriced for the mediocrity of the food. Got the chicken shawarma plate, which tasted okay but some of the rice was hard and not cooked properly. And the spanakopita is just not good. Ideally it would be crunchy phillo with warm filling. This was sad soft phillo with solid cold filling, topped with tzatziki sauce for some reason?! Never seen spanakopita served that way before.
