Garlic Shack

This is a pub that is near my San Diego place and I just discovered it today. Very good food! I ordered the Chicken Sandwich and my son ordered the K beef sandwich. Both were amazing! The chicken sandwich was so good I plan on going back to try a few more items.. Beer selection was OK.

Talk about a diamond in the ruff! Except for the physical asthetics of the building the food is great, the staff is awesome, and the food is excellent! If your in the area and looking for a place with amazing food, great beers from local breweries, and a great super chill atmosphere this is for you. My wife and I went here I got the Cuban which was seriously incredible and we shared the garlic fries (sooo good!). I forgot what beer I got because I forgot the name but it's a craft brew in the area. I definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for something good.

I always love going here. So different than anywhere you have been. Trust me, it is! All made in house from the sausages, breads, soup bases etc. You will always find the owner, Danny in the kitchen working away with a smile on his face. Menu is always changing with new additions. Extensive drink menu from teas, sodas, beer, soju, sake and more!!

So good! The place indeed looks like a shack from the street, but the interior is clean and open. Dog-friendly patio. The food was some of the best I've had. We'll be back!

Delicious and just spicy enough garlic fries. Fun art on the walls. Not tons of searing, but enough. I recommend this place at least once! Plus the neighborhood is fun and diverse. It's close to Golden Hill and Barrio Logan/ Chicano park.

Burning dishes! Highly recommend this place for casual hang outs and beer day. 1. Garlic Shack hotdog: crispy on the outside and warm moist, rich of sauce in the inside with tasty hotdog in the center. Cannot ask for more! 2. Korean beef fried rice: very large portion, good to share between two people. Dish has bean sprout and spinach to balance out the richness of beef and fried egg.

I ordered the Horchata Wheat from Bay Bridge Brewing and the Bahn Mi sandwich with potato salad. I enjoyed this little restaurant because of the variety of drinks they offered. The sandwich was pretty good but it was a little dry and I found myself coughing a lot. I noticed the girls at the counter didnt know how to pour the beer. She just sat the cup down and poured it which led to the beer being purely foam. She didnt keep pouring until it was topped off as seen in the picture. That is pretty much my only complaint.

This place is awesome! Had the garlicky meatballaholic with garlic fries. So yum! My kiddo had the normal cheeseburger and raved about it as well. The portions are seriously huge. Homemade bread, lots of vegetarian options and craft beer.
