14 Best Beaches in Thailand

"Also known as Garnet Beach, this gem can be found on Koh Muk, which translates to “Pearl Island.” A tuk-tuk ride from town means Charlie Beach is away from the hustle and bustle, and those who venture out are rewarded with gentle waters and standout sunsets. Head here in the peak season, when beach businesses come alive." - Katie Lockhart Katie Lockhart Katie is a freelance travel and food journalist specializing in luxury brands and hotels. Nice, chill, not crowded, many places to sit. Locals call it “Farang beach”, that is, ‘foreigners beach’. Water is clear and nice. Many places to eat cheaply or drink. After sunset you’ll hear very loud birds chirping.

Lovely beach to spend the day on, plenty of sun loungers with brollies you can rent/ just buy something to eat and drink from the stalls at the back behind the treeline.Calm clear waters, paradise really! Easy to snorkel and see the big fish ball near the rocks on the left, amazing to watch..sea eagles swooping and hornbills flapping in the trees ,just love it there! Nice view at sunset from beach or up on the hillside cafe x

Beautiful when quiet. Some ok snorkelling around the rocks by the restaurants. Large schools of small fish in the bay as well. Worth kayaking around to Emerald cave from here. Takes 15-30 minutes each way depending on how hard you work. If you leave after 3.30pm you avoid paying 400 Baht park fees. You'll also miss the crowds. You'll need a head torch and a dry bag (you can buy these in town for 100-200B depending on the size you want). We went there in mid- and high- tide and had no problems with water levels. Worth visiting the caves with a tour first before you kayak there just to get orientated to the area and the cave. Food stalls were great as was Mong Bar at the end of the beach. Our favourite food and drink stall was the one closest to the restaurants Nong Champ - nice folks. Definitely worth a beach lounging day or two.Very walkable from town ~30 minutes, but much quicker to get here by motorbike.

The beach is not crowded, however on the left part upon arrival there are sunbeds and umbrellas, foodstalls so there is bunch of people. The right part is more secluded, but the swimming part is more rocky. We had a blast of seing a monkey too 🙃

Nice beach super clear water plenty of fish about, boat trips lots of different options of seating food drinks. Careful on last bit of track deep sand if on scooter.

The beach has potential, but there are several aspects that detract from the experience. A significant portion of the shaded area is taken up by sunbeds, leaving limited space for other visitors. While there are a few hawkers around, we noticed some of them interacting with stray dogs, which for us is a big hygiene concern. Additionally, stray dogs tend to approach you if you're eating snacks, which can be unsettling for some people. Behind the beach, there is quite a bit of trash, which mars the overall ambiance. Lastly, the access road to the beach is quite bumpy, making the journey less comfortable. We only spent 2 hours here and would not recommend.

Very nice beach, turquoise water and few nice bars where to enjoy the sunset from. The second day we went, I got beaten by many sand flies so be careful!

Walkable from the main “town” at the pier. 30 minutes. Or take a motorbike tuk tuk (50฿ per person each way) if you are not mobile. The walk is pleasant, but there’s a lot of motorbike traffic. The beach itself is great for sunsets. Free seating/loungers, but only if you make a purchase from one of the stalls behind. Reasonable enough. I bought a smoothie and stayed for hours.
