Garver Events and Star Bound Catering did a superb job as the venue and caterer for our nearly 300 person wedding last weekend. The worked with us as we neared their capacity to make sure everyone had enough space and that we got to the dance floor ASAP. It was seamless to have the ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and reception in once space. The dinner was the best wedding food I've ever had. They highlighted local ingredients and worked with us to customize our menu. They even made our dream of sourdough bread centerpieces happen. The party that followed was just awesome. Logistics at the end of the night were so easy. 11/10 would get married there again ;P

It was 4th of July. Came to this part of Madison to take a bike trip around Lake Monona. Started at ended at Garvers. The building is a restored feed building, built in 1906. There is a plaque on the outside of the building that gives some of the history. It has a high quality feel to it, and has been well maintained. Inside is a collection of small business, a restaurant, lounge and coffee shop. There are restrooms and seating areas inside and outside. The lower level can be used as an event space for receptions and parties.

Working with Garver for our daughter’s Quinceañera was amazing. The place is gorgeous & the staff made her special day run so smoothly. If I could give them more stars, I would.

I wanted to like this place but it was a confusing and uncomfortable experience. My husband and I came in for dinner on a Monday evening. We went over to the pizza counter and chose the pizza which was difficult because there were no labels or explanations anywhere. We were told to get the pizza at the pick up window. We stood by the registers and they sent us to the other side to a pick up window. We were unable to get the pizza because we didn't pay for it, so back to the register to pay . We finally were able to get the pizza from the the pick up window. The pizza was a bit burnt on the bottom but tolerable. The chairs are very uncomfortable and I ended up standing to eat. My husband found a soft chair but the area, which was occupied by several other people was off limits to us. We looked outside for a place to sit and only found a picnic table. After being on my feet all day, I just wanted somewhere to sit and finish my drink. It didn't happen. If we go back I will bring a seat cushion.

Beautiful building. Lots of indoor seating. Pizza was fantastic, had a make your own salad station. Ask the server to create your favorite salad.

Love the Garver Feed Mill, but I am going to review it as a wedding venue under this account. Despite the number of times we had been at Garver, we did not expect to fall in love with it as a wedding venue! The brick façade, tall ceiling with modern chandeliers, the lounge space, Ians! Heck, if you want to leave with a plant at the end of the night, you can do that too. (At least two people bought a plant from the Grow Greenhouse via QR code haha) Garver really has everything you need. Want to make travel easier for you and your guests? You can do both the ceremony and reception at Garver. The staff will room flip for you. The backdrop that IS Garver is wonderful for every picture. The brick and greenery is lovely. We did all of our photos in and around Garver. Even if you don't have a large floral/decoration budget, the venue still looks amazing. There is a hospitality suite in the gallery if you want to get ready there or need space for storage. There is a very long mirror, single stall bathroom, and plenty of seating. Consider bringing additional lighting for makeup. The various coordinators for the event and food/drink (Ashlie and Marilyn primarily) were quite lovely. They were great about answering our questions, making suggestions, and being accommodating. Great, consistent communication. They have reasonable response time in that I usually heard from them within the week. They're great about being a middle person for the vendors they partner with and vendors within Garver such as Event Essentials, Ian's, and Ledger Coffee. Event Essentials and Ledger were included right into our invoice with Garver. Note that Garver is still open to the public, so you will have random people coming in/out the area to go visit the vendors within the building. As a busy bride with 130 guests, I hardly noticed the random folks. Food and drink is included and you are required to use their catering. They can do the usual options of styles such as buffet, family style, plated, etc. Their bread and butter seems to be family style, so we went with that. They will have a discussion with you food you like, food you grew up with, favorite restaurants, etc. From there they will build you multiple menus. You can mix and match them as you please. (See photos for our specific menu). They even included some Filipino-inspo foods. They have multiple packages for drinks. We went with 2 signature cocktails, 3 beers, wines, and NA options. There are higher and lower packages than what we did. Similar scenario where they took suggestions for us and will propose options. You do not get to taste test the food but people LOVED the food and drinks. They can do dessert but you are not required to use them. They have a lot of options including vegan and gluten free. We used them for some vegan cupcakes but used another vendor for everything else. They had dessert platters free to use and they even made labels for the dessert for us. One less thing we had to worry about it! Day of, I do not think I saw any of my coordinators. At least, not knowingly. I take this as a good sign, honestly. I do know they were around because Marilyn (food coordinator) took some shots with the staff at our photobooth! I'm happy that they did. :) I hope they got a copy for themselves. +1 is that they keep a reserve of your signature cocktails. We ran out of the Calcifer quickly, but I was still able to enjoy a few glasses of it myself. I'm sure I'm missing a few lovely things, but I think you get the picture. I loved my wedding at Garver

I photographed a wedding here in September and it was absolutely stunning! I loved getting creative with the industrial windows and moody lighting! The staff were so kind and helpful, and it was really just such a unique space! 10 out of 10!

This place is the bees knees for any day, any hour, any event or if you’re just super bored. Was craving a slice of pizza and a beer tonight so stopped in to find most of the place to myself and a welcome seat at the bar. $13.00 for a slice, a breadstick, and a beer. Just noticed they have brunch on Saturdays. Guess I’ll be coming back soon for a nice espresso from Ledger and brunch at the Lounge. Will report back on Brunch. 👌🏻

Yelp
Very interesting compilation of rooms for events, restaurants, and small boutiques. Unique interior. Cute stores. Great vibe. We had Caesar salads from Ian's pizza. The salads were amazing. We didn't get to try the pizza. So, I can't speak to that. I'm so glad we stumbled upon this place while we were in Madison.

Yelp
We were here for the Dane County indoor farmers market at Garver. Lots going on! Their whole first floor event space was filled with vendors, mostly bakery items, honey, some produce, etc. I think this is a good space for it, however it was very crowded. It's nice how Garver has super tall ceilings and a second floor space that frames the first floor. It was cool to be able to walk upstairs and check out the many businesses at Garver. I have my eye on the Kosa Spa and Perennial Yoga. Very cool space with awesome local businesses! Note, the parking lot isn't big enough to accommodate events like this. We ended up parking over at Olbrich Gardens. It's nice they have a path from the Olrbich parking lot over to Garver.

Yelp
Garver is a terrific place to meet friends in the summertime. You can chill on their large, cute and comfy patio with pizza, a glass of wine or some ice cream. They also have a nice coffee shop - Ledger Coffee and a great gift shop with a variety of fun stuff. Grow Greenhouse sells beautiful, healthy plants there and on summer Friday evenings, Garver hosts Food Truck Friday. Plus, this historic spot is right on the bike path.

Yelp
What a cool spot! When I walked in here, I thought I was in the Milwaukee public market (but not as crowded). I was dazzled by the sheer number of options available in one spot from coffee to cocktails to ice cream to pizza. But there's also things to do from yoga to a spa to board games, and even event hosting! In addition to the spacious interior, I enjoy the patio area as well which is just as spacious and perfect for enjoying the weather outside. If you get a chance, I highly recommend trying Ian's pizza, which I have covered in a different review.

Yelp
Close to the community, nice to be there, service is great! Ian's is a great place to go, would 100% recommend.

Yelp
The Garver Feed Mill is a shopping center in Madison, Wisconsin that my husband and I got to visit recently. The Garver Feed Mill was originally constructed as a sugar beet processing facility in 1906. It was in operation as a sugar beet processing facility until 1924. This facility houses the Garver Lounge, Ian's Pizza, Ledger Coffee Roasters, Roll Play Madison, Calliope Ice Cream, and many other businesses. They also host private events here. When we went, there was a wedding reception taking place, so we weren't able to see the entire shopping center. With businesses this eclectic, everyone will find something they like. I highly recommend the Garver Feed Mill!

Yelp
Next to Olbrich Botanical gardens, it has a few eateries including a pizza and salad bowl place, ice cream, cookies, and drinks. Place is rustic and modern, quiet and. calm. We went on a weekday so there weren't many people. Would hope to see this place grow with more food choices and activities. To liven it up a bit.

Yelp
I was there on a weekday evening. I got a parking spot right away. There was live music on the patio. There were some nice chairs outside, and some seat inside. I tried 3 slices of pizza from Ian's pizza - All the veg, mac n cheese, and chicken and pasta. Calliope was an interesting ice cream places with very interesting flavors. I tried 3 flavors - lemon lavendar, kale smoothie and summer tomato. Last 2 were the wierd flavors. But I liked most of that. Roll play was another very interesting food place. May be I should try it the next time.

Yelp
Absolutely adorable space! Came for the farmers market. Nice selection of vendors with handmade goods and produce. Bought some homemade graham crackers, local honey, and handmade soap. Got coffees at the shop inside and sat at a cute table for people watching as we had our treats !

Yelp
I would give the salvaging of this structure five star - they did a spectacular job saving what could have easily been demolished. Look around the first floor to find the photos of the ruin this place was in order to see what a miracle this community space is today. As others have mentioned the parking situation here is one star. Terrible - nowhere near the amount of space needed for the venue. When the weather is good we either walk here or ride our bikes since it is on the bike trail. Or we end up parking in the back section of Olbrich Gardens' lot which I am sure they don't like. We have been here for the winter market which is a nice location at that time of the year. And just recently we ate brunch at the Graver Lounge. (In the past I have separately reviewed the Ian's Pizza at this location). The brunch at the Garver Lounge was OK - we were surprised at how empty it was given it was a crummy Saturday and thought it might be hopping with people looking for an indoor distraction. The vibe was dead. The staff was friendly and the prices on par with most places. Two of us tried their version of the Monte Cristo. It was a bit dry and lacking in flavor - not nearly as good as the traditional preparation. Though the Bloody Mary had a nice kick. I know our brunch friends liked what they ordered including the pancake fritters - sort of a cross between a donut and a hush puppy. Strangely they don't serve coffee so you have to go across the hall to the Ledger coffee shop for that. Hmmm. Bottom line - great space and so-so food.

Yelp
This is a good concept, but has a long way to go. We stopped in on a Saturday early evening and there were a few food stalls. Nothing worth going there for. It is an attempt to revitalize an old building , but has a ways to go.

Yelp
We love Garver so much we decided to get married here! I just wanted to share my experience of Garver as an event venue. Fantastic, excellent, amazing! We had a great experience from start to finish planning our big day here. The events staff is super friendly and helpful. We met multiple times to prepare. They helped us nail down our timeline and the vendors they work with are awesome. We used Garver for food and beverage for our event - tailored menu (the sky is the limit) and custom cocktails all at a reasonable per person price, something other venues did not offer. Food, desserts, and drinks were all a big hit. The venue itself is gorgeous with warm brick and industrial accents, retro furniture. The vibes here were perfect. If your planning a wedding or event, definitely add Garver Feed Mill to your list!

Yelp
Garner is a beautiful space and they've been so innovative on event here. It is 2 levels with the first being a large open space which you're able to transform in any way. I feel like your imagination could run wild here! There are surrounding tenants on the first floor like Surya Cafe and Ian's and a coffee shop. There's also a second floor with individual tenants of different local businesses. I love the high ceilings and the exposed brick and large windows/doors for nice lighting. If you need catering, Garver also has their own catering services to use -- unsure if you can use outside catering but would be good to know! There's also it's own parking lot which has some parking available but be sure to watch for signs for the one ways and look for street parking as well. From my interactions this space seems great for displays, farmers markets, and I could see it as a beautiful space for weddings!

Yelp
We were there for a wedding and it seemed to be a nice venue with above average food for a wedding. The standouts in terms of food service was definitely the appetizers... various Wisconsin artisan meats and cheeses... outstanding. The drinks were good - old fashioneds decent, but not muddled and the bar seemed to run out of garnish's pretty quickly... no orange slices in sight. Aside from the event menu there's an Ian's Pizza... also serving ice cream, a coffee shop and several other venues. If I were an East Sider maybe I'd bike on over or meet friends... seems like that sorta hangout. Overall a decent set up.

Yelp
Garver Feed Mill is Located on Madison's near East Side, nestled behind Olbrich Gardens. It's a neat old building that was converted from a feed mill into a multi use building. We had a few drinks at the bar and then had pizza and salad from Ian's pizza. They did have live jazz outside at the front entrance.

Yelp
Just incredibly grateful for this vibrant place. It's is a smart place that continues to find its way gracefully.

Yelp
Sorry to say we had a very disappointing visit. We stopped by one a Wednesday evening hoping to enjoy small plates snd cocktails in the lounge. Unfortunately there was a group of children who were allowed to run roughshod over the lounge area, yelling loudly, jumping on the furniture and table tops, and running in-between the furniture and ropes around the area as if the were on the playground. I did notify management of our displeasure and have yet to get a reply.

Yelp
Super cute set up. They have plenty of events here and still have room to spare. Doesn't feel crowded or too tight. I love that they have an Ian's location inside. Beautiful space and every clean.

Yelp
Walked over here on a Saturday morning with the pups and my parents visiting from out of town. The patio is dog friendly but table service was not active which surprised me. I've walked over here several times in the past but things were run much differently. We were not as impressed with the food lounge menu. Options were much more limited than when I last visited. It would be nice if they updated their website with the menu so that you could look at it beforehand- it's 2021!

Yelp
This review is solely for the parking situation. They probably should have factored in a parking garage in the design of this glorious building. I have come by car three times for various events and at mealtimes and have found there to be little to no parking. Just be aware access from the bike path in nicer weather is your best bet. You may find you need to turn around and go home and try again another time/day if your looking for available parking.

M F.

Yelp
Visited the outside patio twice. Pleasant venue. Mandatory Tock food ordering app worked okay on first visit and food and drinks arrived timely. However Tock app is a cumbersome hindrance to enjoying the experience, especially since it is an outdoor space and more risks are lower for serving staff interacting with customers. Last night's visit was a mess. Only Ian's pizza and salad showed up on app. It took 52 minutes for one guest's beer order to arrive. Had to input orders numerous times to get them to register. Try to support Garver Mill, but we won't pay to be tortured. Very overpriced also...Bill was over $200 for 5 people who ordered pizza and salad. Whew. We won't be back.

Espino, N.

Yelp
Best thing I've ever tried. I highly recommend this place, good food super cheap, super good spot.
