I am so thrilled with my new air conditioning! Jim Adams and his team from Gary & Sons did an outstanding job! They were a personable, professional, and knowledgeable team! It took them only two days to install 4 units through my home! My husband’s and my experience with Gary & Sons, from the beginning with meeting with Steve Songer, who was so kind and very helpful in answering all our questions, to the day Jim Adams and his team showed up was an experience beyond our expectations. Five Star, highly recommend Gary & Sons..you will love their service from beginning to end!

We had a great experience with Gary and Son’s and would highly recommend them. Last year we started a whole house renovation and realized we needed to update our heating and cooling They assisted with planning and finance and so far we love our Lennox system The unit is very quiet and efficient. Steve in sales, Kevin in service, and all the installers were very professional and did everything they promised to do

1st visit...The boys were pleasant and courteous. On time. Very helpful until my part comes in. 2nd visit put panel in. 3rd visit Andrew was very informative and sadly found many repairs that need taken care of but appreciated. More visits and repairs and replacements ahead. 4th visit Lucas did many repairs which required lots of time, hot water tank, exhaust, expansion tank etc. Again they are courteous and efficient. 5th visit, Hunter arrive. He fixed the rest of the problems that we were having. He was great at communicating the problems so we understood and how the equipment works. You can send him to the house for repairs anytime.

The system and installation look great! The guys that installed it were very kind and responsive to any questions or preferences of ours. They seemed more concerned about my home than I did. I would highly recommend Gary & Sons!

In 2023, we bought a new furnace from Gary & Sons. It’s a great product and we’re very happy with it BUT…after screwing up the install, they came out again and again until a month later it was done correctly. In 2025, we bought a new A/C unit from them. Once again, a great product BUT they screwed up the install. After causing water damage to our property and multiple returns to get it installed properly…a month later we’re happy with the product. NOT happy with Gary & Sons. They sell nice products, but are 0/2 on the install. We won’t be buying from them again.

Outstanding work . Excellent job and end result excellent another great job by James and Jonathon. Jonathon Dixon was called out and got our units working after a power surge. Thank you

Install so professionally done by Jim and coworker. Aside from the unit on the wall (as planned), you would never know he had been to my home and done his installation. Not a speck of dust or debris from the install to be found. Excellent work!

Yelp
In September 2023 I bought a new Thermo Pride oil furnace for my Mobile Home from Gary & Sons, It came with a Beckett oil burner. The Manufacturer Installation Manual requires to install the furnace: 1. Level. 2. The roof stack has to be at least 3 feet higher than the roof at the high roof penetration point and at least 2 feet higher than the roof ridge. 3. The air intake under the house has to penetrate the skirting of the crawl space to the outside. 4. The fuel line should have a shut off valve. My furnace is not installed level and not plumb. To open and close the furnace cover to clean the air filter the top part of the cover has to be pushed to the left side, what is difficult to do. Between the base of the furnace and the furnace is a gap where hot heating air blows in the room instead of in the furnace duct. When the a/c is running warm air blows through the gap in the room instead of over the a/c evaporator to cool the room air. My roof stack ends about 1 to 2 inches below the roof ridge instead of 2 feet above it. The roof stack height affects the draft in the burner. The draft affects the burning. The air intake does not penetrate the skirting. There is no shut off valve in the fuel line. All that is reported to Gary & Sons multiple times. Verbal and in writing. Since the installation they have been at my place 8 times. One time together with a technician from Thermo Pride the furnace Manufacturer. THEY NEVER INSTALLED THE FURNACE AS REQUIRED BY THE MANUFACTURER. The furnace makes a lot of strange sounds including ringing and whistle like a water kettle. Beckett the oil burner manufacturer wrote to me these sounds are caused by wrong installation of the burner and furnace. BUT GARY & SONS SIMPLY REFUSE TO INSTALL THE FURNACE AS REQUIRED BY THE MANUFACTURER. Not even Thermo Pride urges the contractor to install as required. I have reported that to the BBB and to the Attorney General Office for Consumer Protection. Both cases are unresolved. BUT GARY & SONS STILL REFUSE TO FIX ALL THE PROBLEMS. NOW THEY DON'T EVEN HAVE DECENCY TO ANSWER MY LETTERS. DESPITE THEY CLAIM TO WORK FOR 100 % CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. INGO STEINIG naturelive2009@yahoo.com

Yelp
The only reason I'm giving them one one star is because I can't give them zero stars. I'm no longer one of their customers because of their poor service. I purchased 2 furnaces from them years ago, both were replaced because of the same repair issue. Not a good situation. I've stayed away from them since. My story is simple, an friend of mine had them service their furnace. They replaced parts without authorization and the parts were incorrectly installed and then left. I knew the part replaced shouldn't be that expensive, so we looked the it up online, the price was increased 10 times the value on the bill. (example $40 part $400 bill). The carbon monoxide detector went off later. The friend tried numerous times to contact Gary's on their 24 hr. emergency service. Finally someone answered and they said, they would have to charge the for the service call but probably wouldn't be able to help them that day and would call 1st of the week and do another service call. They did tell her to turn off her furnace and leave. I personally called my service technician and we went to see if the situation could be resolved. My technician partially got the furnace in operation that evening to make it safer so the water didn't freeze. I took several pictures of the furnace for proof if needed. Gary's are extremely lucky my friend didn't die that afternoon of carbon monoxide poisoning. Just beware of this company.

Yelp
Tech did not fix the issue we had with our air handler. Left without making it so that our air handler would turn on/off via the thermostat. Charged: $100 (Diagnostic) $75 (Labor) $85 (Part) $89 (Part) Both parts used are available at RETAIL price for $13 and $15 respectively. Was told by person who answered call that they mark up their parts the 600%+ for "troubleshooting." When I suggested that "Diagnostic" charge should cover "troubleshooting," the person I talked to said that the extra markup (over RETAIL price, mind you), was for "labor." I said, "So you charged $70 to screw in four wire nuts?" His response was basically, yes. When tech arrived, air conditioner, air handler (w/ fan), and thermostat were all installed. Tech was told to check wiring and correct an issue that was causing the small in-line fuse for the thermostat to keep blowing. When tech left, after less than an hour, he took fan relay with him, installed transformer in air handler and a part in the air conditioner. Air conditioner and fan both worked, but would not shut of or turn on via the thermostat. When called to complain (after new fan burnt up), person I talked to suggested just turning heating/cooling/fan off and on manually. So I guess, if you want to overpay for parts, wait days for a return call after issue (which still has never came), and manually turn on/off your heat/air every time it gets too hot or too cold (ie. constantly), they were spectacular and a great deal at $360. If you want your system to work correctly at a reasonable price when the tech leaves....call someone else.

Yelp
They sold us a lemon stove. We bought it new from them for 4k. Every year something breaks on it. And every year they charge us over $500 to fix it and then a month later it breaks again and they charge us again only to have it break again next year. I definitely see a pattern here and when we told them we wanted this fixed for free cause they never fixed it right in the first place they fired us as their customer. Shotty business and I will never recommend.

Yelp
Gary from Gary and Sons Inc should change his middle name to "Bad Service" because we got bad service, that's what we got!! Our water heater kicked the bucket in the middle of the night whenever my wife and I were having a pool party. As we were filling up the kiddie pools with scalding hot water, we heard a loud "Kaboom!" from the basement. I had my wife go down and check it out because the basement has spiders. I'm scared of spiders. Anyway, I got a hold of Gary and his son or whatever and I heard some rustling and scrounging around, ya know, and he said he'll be there in 15 minutes and asked if I have any pants he can use for the time being. It was a big issue because I've gained a good amount of weight over the years and whenever he arrived, he put them on and looked like a gosh dang clown. So when Gary got here, turns out the son that Gary brought was an infant so he had to carry his son on one of those front backpack harnesses as he went to my spooky basement. Although the service was bad, bless his heart for going down there. He said that we shouldn't be pushing our water heater so hard and I couldn't believe he had the nerve to tell me and my wife how to handle our weekly pool parties. So as I stood there in my swimming trunks and floaties, Gary looked me in the eye and said, "This town ain't big enough for the two of us" and then he reached down for a fake revolver and shot at me. Now, since I'm a big fan of theater, I played along with it and fell straight back into one of the pool leaving a pretty impressive splash. Gary walked out and didn't even do anything about the water heater. My wife and I looked at each other and said "Baaaaaaad serviceeeeee" and that's the first and last time we spoke. That Gary is a man that I think of every day whenever I wake up and when I go to sleep. But overall he was a great father figure

Yelp
I have been a customer of Gary & Sons from the first day they were in business. Their first project for me was to install a spa and the work was done efficiently, quickly and professionally. Since then I have used Gary & Sons for any needs I have had at my house from installation of zero clearnace fire places. Central Air Conditioning, which included running new duct work, installation of an above ground pool, and yearly maintenace checks on all the equipment to keep the warranty in force. Garys was the only company in the Dubois Area that would even give me a price quote on doing residental service. Everyone else in the area seems to only want the commercial business. Garys has always been professional, efficient, neat in the approach from quote to completiong. I would recommend them to anyone with confidence that they will do a great job as they always have

Yelp
He is correct. They did not do maintenance work on our air conditioner in February. I only discovered Yelp recently when I was asked to post a review when a very professional computer repair person asked me; which I am totally happy with. After that, I thought of them and how horrible Gary and Sons service was on that summer day. If anybody should be under investigation for fraud they should look at themselves. As far as my name goes, I go by my maiden name.

Yelp
I gave them one star for showing up. I recently called them to come and service my mini split air conditioner/heater. It took at least 3 weeks to come and after they got here I was told they couldn't pressure check my system because the outside air temperature was to low. They knew what the temperature was before they left the shop. But the wasted trip cost me $60.00 anyway. Still no heat. They returned the next week and told me they had to order a part. I asked how much it would cost, he said 3 or 4 hours labor plus the part. I asked how much for labor. He said $50.00 per hour. I said approximately $200.00 plus the part that was only $45.00 when I called the manufacturer. I told the tech to order the part. I called them back in two weeks, still no part. Eventually they came with the part. It took 6 hours including the hour the tech left to go get a gauge he forgot. So now I'm looking at approximately $400.00, or so I thought. When the tech was done the heater wasn't working any better than when he came and he knew that. So he called his boss and was told they could try ordering a different part and come back. So the tech hands me a bill for $800.00 plus dollars for a heater that still wasn't working. I asked him to leave and called his boss. He tried to tell me I approved the quote When I never saw it before nor did we talk money other than me talking to the tech. I would never have approved a $800.00 quote. So he lied. I told them to send me a itemized realistic bill. I received a bill for $600.00 plus. I called the boss and expressed my dissatisfaction. He wouldn't accept any responsibility for wrong doing. He wanted payment in full even though the heater still didn't work when the tech left. I didn't want anyone saying I don't pay my bills, so I paid him in full and told him I would do some free advertising for him all negative but true. He said do what you have to do. Since then I heard similar issues from 4 different people. I see a pattern here. I'm going to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Please join me to help deter other potential victims from doing business with Gary and Son's in Falls Creek PA. Thank you
