I’m from the U.S. and was tasked with finding an authentic German restaurant, and I think I hit the nail on the head with this one. It truly felt like we were dining in someone’s home. The waiter spoke broken English, but the service was amazing. While they didn’t have English menus, that was easily solved with Google Translate.
After ordering, we waited about 20 minutes for our food. The atmosphere was quiet and pleasant much different from a typical U.S. restaurant. When the food arrived, it was some of the best Cordon Bleu I’ve ever had. My father ordered the stag, which was incredible, and my mother and sister got what translated to “roast beef,” though we think it was closer to a sirloin steak. The meat was so tender it could be cut with a fork.
Everything was freshly cooked and clearly never frozen. The total came to about 100 euros for all four of us, including drinks, desserts, and entrées. It was such a great experience that we went back the next day and tried new dishes. I would highly recommend this place to both locals and tourists alike.
