Make a reservation! This is the best restaurant in the area. Very delicious authentic Austrian food. The staff is incredible and despite all of the people, the service is fast. Highly recommend you stop by here for dinner.

This was the best Austrian experience we could have ever asked for. We came in hoping to find a last minute table on a Saturday (try to reserve ahead if you can - this place is popular!) and they initially apologized and said that they didn’t have any more tables available. That’s when Stefan (the owner - far right in the image) walked up and found us a space to eat and enjoy the evening - and boy did we!! We ended up being the last guests there - drinking Schnaps and singing along with the locals to music from all over the world at the big Stammtisch. The food was excellent - traditional and amazing. But above all, The people at this restaurant are so welcoming and they gave us a once in a lifetime experience. We couldn’t stop Smiling and we couldn’t be more grateful. Hopefully we will be back soon - I already know where we will eat when we return! 🥳Stefan, we wish you all the best! Thank you so much for the best night !

This was the authentic Austrian meal we were looking for. Every dish was fresh and tasty. The biggest hit were the spinach balls. They were the best we had during our visit. I highly recommend getting some to start your meal.

Warm and noisy restaurant. Not able to relax. Won’t recommend on busy nights. Maybe nice on calm evenings. The food is average classic traditional German/austrian food.

Since the pension we chose to stay didn't have an in-house restaurant, we ventured in to the nearby town of Tschagguns for our early dinner. Our friendly hostess at the pension recommended for us to try this restaurant without any hesitation, so we felt pretty good about it--and we were not disappointed. We didn't have a reservation, but since it was early enough our server gave us a table in the main dining room with an understanding that we would be finished by 19:00. It gave us more than 90 minutes, so it was plenty of time to do so (even with a slow service which it wasn't). As we understood it, things will pick up after 19:00 especially live music by the owner's family band will start at 21:00 on Thursday night. This definitely is a solid traditional Austrian restaurant. Locals meet here to enjoy home-style food in cozy dining rooms--typical dishes from their homeland. It's located in the middle of the village--and Gasthof Löwen has been in the center of village life for 500 years. Can you imagine your neighborhood diner operating for 500 years?? Food and service were very good. Our two young male servers took care of us in turn. My Wiener schnitzel (from pork) was very tender and flavorful, it was deep-fried as usual, but I did not detect any greasiness at all (and I have unfortunately eaten some very greasy schnitzels). My wife opted for Montafoner Bauernbratwurst ("mountain famer" veal sausage) with potato salad. She really enjoyed her salad, but she wasn't too keen on her veal sausage. I think she's so used to eating pork sausages in Germany, she didn't care for the flavor of veal one. I thought it tasted just fine--I'm more of an in-discriminant meat eater, though. We enjoyed our time at this fine restaurant. We wished we'd stayed for the live music by the family band playing typical Tyrolean music, it would've been too late into the evening for the early departure on the following day for us.

One of the best food I have ever eat. I am from abriad so traditional kitchen was something I wanted to try. The food was excelent. My soup was delitious and I have never eaten anything like that and my friend told me that is was the best cordon bleu he ever eat.

Best place for real traditional Austrian food in town; unbeatable! Especially the wiener schnitzel variations, the cordon bleue and their mushrooms meals are outstanding! Try the ice palatschinken (austrian pancake) as desert - unbelievable yummy!

A cosy place with good food and excellent, friendly service! We had the Wiener Schnitzel and Apfelstrudel and it tasted exactly as good as we anticipated. Very affordable and as a cherry on top they had live music. Vielen Dank und auf wiedersehen!
