"Chef Ricardo Dias Ferreira opts for a primordial style of cooking in which fire plays a leading role. Here, everything is prepared on a wood-burning stove and in a wood-fired oven, which impart a special touch and flavour to the dishes. The restaurant exudes an industrial air that includes an elegantly decorated, cosy dining area; however, be sure to try sitting at the counter in front of the kitchen, so you can watch the entire preparation process and inhale the aromas wafting from the stoves. The offering revolves around a single tasting menu, comprising 15 courses that evolves in line with the products available each season. Enjoy the experience with an exclusive wine pairing suggested by the sommelier!" - Michelin Inspector

We celebrated our engagement in Porto by visiting Gastro on a Friday night and quite frankly it was the perfect way to celebrate. We have dined at many restaurants on the Michelin guide and without a doubt it is the best dining experience we have had to date. Every one of the 15 moments were unique and memorable, presented beautifully and explained clearly by each chef bringing them to our table. Even the octopus, which I am usually not a fan of, was outstanding. Our place at the top of the chef's table also gave us a close-up look at the dedication put into crafting each dish. Plus, despite the restaurant being quite busy, it was nice to see the head chef taking time to clear plates so he can speak to guests and get their feedback. Also a quick shout-out to the rest of the staff who were excellent throughout, especially in offering their knowledge of the wines on offer. If you're unsure whether 15 moments would be too much, everything is perfectly portioned over the 3 hours you are likely to spend here. Can't wait to return and wouldn't be surprised to see a Michelin star above the door when we do!

Perfect Dinner! It is very rare that out of a 15(!) course tasting menu, every dish was a hit! The attention to detail, the creativity was at the highest level. And being able to watch the chef work was an added treat. Ambiance was great and the service was top notch. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in Porto!

Gastro by Elemento is definitely the best restaurant in Porto and within Top 3 in Portugal. Ricardo and his teams are playing in the highest league of dining combined with perfect service in a great ambiente! Every time, we dined there, we were very positively surprised! Absolutely recommended! Go there and enjoy! Also his second restaurant Elemento is a must!

Celebrated Gastro by Elemento and Chef Ferreira and team definitely lived up to being featured on the Michelin Guide — 15 courses, all cooked with fire and coal. We’ve never seen a kitchen like this. Impeccable food, seamless service and honestly? This would’ve cost double in most other cities. Creative but thoughtful with its design and flavors of each dish. As each dish is presented and explained you can understand the passion that has gone into them

Excellent tasting menu that achieves what a tasting menu should - a range of delicious AND interesting plates. Phenomenal staff and service with friendly demeanour throughout. Michelin star aspirations are clear and are likely to be won soon.

💯 they did a great job. Food was amazing. Wine pairing is generous and adventurous. With set menu, wine, and tip… = 200 Euro per person

A fantastic journey through the 10 courses (moments) of this tasting menu + wine pairings. We were there on a quiet night and because we were a party of 6, chose to eat at a table but if you are are a party of 2-4, sitting at the bar in front of the chefs & the kitchen would be ideal. The food is simply incredible - every dish outstanding with some surprises. Service is really attentive. Wine pairings, available for all but two courses were also great and the the sommelier introduces and explains each one, (although no wine with the bread course - What Would Jesus Do?) Yes, it's a journey north of the city but it's worth the Uber and feels like it's only going to get harder to get a table at this amazing place.
