Gateway Breakfast House

Okay, this place surpassed my expectations by like a 1000. The food was cooked perfectly, my eggs were the perfect amount of yolk runny with zero white runniness. My French toast was so fluffy am delicious. My husband ordered the chicken fried steak, an was pleasantly surprised when they brought his plate put an there was 2 chicken fried steaks on his plate, both cooked perfectly an mouth watering !! We were able to eat 2 decent sized plates of food for under $40 !!! The wait staff were extremely friendly, happy an awesome!!! We will most definitely be visiting again. 😊

In a city with so many good breakfast options, it is so hard to stand out. You have to have exceptional food and great service. Gateway Breakfast House does this and more. I thoroughly enjoyed my extremely classic Eggs Benedict, the hollandaise was absolutely wonderful, a picture perfect example of the dish. I also got to try the biscuits and gravy, and I have to say, biscuits and gravy are not something I typically order, but I absolutely loved it. Finally, the country fried steak is extremely flavorful, made my day. Overall, the food is a 10/10. The staff are so friendly and accommodating too. Thanks everyone!

Great spot for a hearty brekfast that will make you want to take a nap after. Sat in the same booth as Barack Hussein Obama which was cool. Had a bit of a wait but was well worth it. Servers are old school and very friendly. Very affordable.

If you need a good breakfast Gateway Breakfast House is the place to go for several reasons. Not only is the food good but they serve you very large portions for a decent price. The food is delicious and also let's not forget their customer service is over the top. Both Waitresses Carrie & Judy are so nice and sweet but let's not forget how funny they are. Carrie's personality is so funny & humorous. It's like she's constantly telling jokes the whole time she's working. Not just with me but every customer in the restaurant. Both waitresses make a customer feel like they've been knowing them forever or better yet like family, especially Carrie. I will defintely be going back whenever I come back to Portland.

Great spot for breakfast. The food is good, and they don't skimp on portions. This is kind of a dive, so keep that in mind... however, do NOT let that deter you. Get there early. There is always a line, sometimes out the door. The eggs benedict is quite tasty. The biscuits and gravy is a huge serving. Go hungry. Enjoy. Color a picture with your kids.

A great place for breakfast. I don't know what their politics are like because I don't really care. But I thought the bottom option today was interesting. We definitely got grilled and toasted by Obama!

This place going down hell. Their coffee is almost like water with coffee flavored. Ol white lady gotta find different job cuz she aint happy serving ppl and its looking bad on the restaurant. Food is below average. Obama .. idk how you end up here brother.
