Great service and fun exciting atmosphere. If you’re a Buckeye fan, this place is a must. Talented live shows inside and seasonally on the patio. Will likely return when the desire to go out strikes. As for food, the menu has clots of feel good choices. Had the fries. They were fresh cut style. Next time I’ll definitely try the fried pepperoni

Google
Great place!! Stopped in here before a HS football game (short walk to Gahanna stadium). Very friendly service. Large place, big back patio had live music, front patio was relaxing in the shade. The pizza was delicious!!! Highly recommend!!!

Google
Great place to enjoy some “adult soda pop” good bar food and just hang out with friends.

Came here needing a spot that was open a little later and left being absolutely impressed! The jalapeño poppers are some of the best I’ve ever had. I was chatting with our server and someone (maybe the owner?) heard It was my first time there. They brought me out some of their coleslaw to try. It was delicious! I am excited to go back!

Google
We were first time visitors and loved the place. They have an outdoor bar,(not sure of the times so you may want to check before you go). The atmosphere was fun, our bartender was great and one of the owners got us a drink! We ordered burgers and pizza and both were great! We will be back for sure.

Google
Great location. Excellent live music! The pizza is superb. Love the different areas to enjoy being with friends, inside or 2 outdoor patios.

Google
Kind of a dive bar but in a cool way... The exterior of the building looks a tad sketchy and during the day on Sunday it is kinda of weird because the back half of the building is empty... BUT I will tell you the service was spot on. The pizza was awesome and the antipasto salad was delicious. Plus the beer is cold... This place is worth a visit so don't let the building fool you.

Google
Wings were amazing! There BBQ sauce is fantastic. Chill place to have some wings and a Guinness on draft. Can't beat it!

Yelp
Always have Fun here at Gatsby's. Wife had her 50th reunion here and it was a Blast. Food is still as good as it ever was Live their Pizza

Yelp
Have driven by hundreds of times and have always thought I need to stop in. Well we did on a Saturday night and had a lot of fun. Great neighborhood bar with good service, amazing atmosphere, and fun entertainment. Plenty of TVs for the games. There was a live band in the back bar and trivia in the front bar. The restroom was probably the cleanest bar restroom I have been in. Ordered beers, drinks, pepperoni pizza, and skins. I suggest you stick with beers and simple drinks. The margaritas was from a mix and very weak and the cranberry with vodka was also weak. You almost need to order a separate shot to make them better. Decent beer selection both on tap and from cooler. Prices were reasonable. We enjoyed the pizza and skins and were surprised with the taste. Looking forward to a return visit to try some other items on their extensive menu, but will stick with beer.

Yelp
One thing we love to do when we travel is go where the locals go and eat where the locals eat and we're glad this spot was down the street from our AirBnB. We had the Buckeye's Favorite pizza and man was it good. Highly recommended. One thing about going to local spots is sometimes you may not feel very welcome if the place packed with regulars but we were not only greeted with a warm welcome the locals didn't look at us like had the audacity! Like most if not all joints in OH, specially in this area this is Ohio State bar and it shows. The place is rich in history and just what a local watering hole should be complete without outdoor areas and live music. We'll definitely be back.

Yelp
A respectable dive bar. But is it? By today's definition, sure is. I love how they make you feel like you're a regular on your very first visit. It's a very popular place. Every trip in here, it's been busy. So busy, we sometimes end up sitting at the bar Pro Tip: Sit at the bar. It's faster and you get more attention. The food isn't bad. I now remember how Great Gatsby's burgers are (Sorry). Try the Cod Fingers. Remember, never judge a book by its cover. 07/24

Yelp
Great, hidden gem for breakfast. Not very busy around 10:15-10:30am on a Saturday. There was a large group of 10+ who looked like regulars but the place was not that loud. They have a simplistic breakfast menu but what they had brought out looked and tasted good. I had the breakfast burrito with bologna (who does this?), my wife had the breakfast bowl and our two friends had the breakfast platters. They fried and diced the bologna before putting it in the burrito which added a nice crunch texture. The price was very adorable and the portion size was just right. The waitress was very attentive and stopped by multiple times to check on us and make sure our drinks were filled up. I will be back when we're in the area and looking for breakfast or brunch.

Yelp
The Gatsby Burger and fries. Can't go wrong with that one. Pizza is really good too. Mmmmmm.

Yelp
Gatsbys is just an amazing place. Wonderful and friendly owner, great bar staff and excellent food. The vibe is casual and fun. If you haven't been here... stop by! I promise you will want to be a regular like I am!

Yelp
Pizza on point crispy yummy Midwest pizza. All their food is good and their fried items are crisp and clean tasting oil. Entertainment always good Staff are so nice, if busy just wait your turn. Ambience fun!!!

Yelp
Dive bar with incredible food. Reminds me of a bar you'd stumble upon while at the beach. Bartenders were friendly and the locals loved to chat. Nice outdoor patio too and live music.
google avatar

Yelp
Yes, it is a dive bar per the description. It's been around forever; we usually only come when our friends are up from down south. They have a full menu of great eats. The pizza is good. We've been multiple times and tried the wings, tenders and burger to name a few...they were all great. The beer list is not long and if you want to taste a bunch of craft beer this spot is NOT for you. They do have some craft beers to choose from but not a huge selection. Your best bet is get a PBR or Lite and spend more money on the liquor. They have live music inside and outside, depending on the weather. We always have a great time here. We'll be back for sure.

Yelp
Stopped in for trivia night on Saturday. It was crowded. First time here, it was not what I was expecting, the separate areas was pretty cool; however, it was pretty small overall. We had to first find a seat at the bar, which was tight. Finally a table opened up. We were seated in a small booth. Our waitress was there to take our drink order. We stared with the potato skins. These things are amazing! Full size skins, filled with a great bacon filled cheesy filling. A side of sour cream and salsa and these were mind blowing! Great flavor, and great portion size. For dinner we had the pizza but changed to white sauce. The dough here was great as it was not a thin crust but wasn't overly thick. It had a great flavor and a wonderful crunch! The toppings were plentiful and there was a great amount of cheese. Aside from the cramped atmosphere, this was a good choice for an appetizer and pizza!

Nick P.

Yelp
A must try in Columbus. I think that they have the best pizza I've tried in the city. Also get their sweet potatoes fries and wraps. No complaints

Yelp
This review is based solely on the food which I ordered during the week for lunch so I can't comment on how the party atmosphere is here on the weekends. I will say this place has been in business for over 40 years and the inside does look worn down, but they do have decent TVs. They have their own parking lot. As for the food I thoroughly enjoyed the three items I tried which were pretzel bites with cheese, boneless spicy bbq wings, and a small pepperoni pizza. The wings weren't overly spicy, but still had good flavor. The pizza had a nice crispy crust and a bit of a sweeter sauce. Loved the crispy pepperonis. Pretzel bites were lightly salted and the cheese dip was great. Definitely recommend this place for lunch!

Yelp
Awesome place and awesome pizza .........feels like a great local bar Thanks for the great service

Megan P.

Yelp
Eaten here several times. We're not from the area but so fat this is the best pizza we've had in columbus. Looks like a dive from the outside, but it is clean and service is good.

Yelp
Dive bar with good food, live music, great outdoor space, and a really nice wait staff! Went on Tuesday night, 9/3. Beautiful night to be hanging out in their outdoor space. Volleyball league was going on and live music on the patio. Pizza was excellent & beer was cold! Jen (waitress) was amazing!!! Fun Tuesday night!

Paul M.

Yelp
The food and service is fantastic and for anyone that calls Gatsby's a "dive bar" you have obviously lived a very sheltered life and have no idea whatsoever about what is and is not a "dive bar". It is unfortunate when ignorant people use terms that they know nothing about. Please go to Gatsby's and see for yourself, it is a great place.

Yelp
I came here on a Wednesday night with some friends for a few drinks. The place wasn't too busy for 6pm but there was enough of a crowd that you could tell they had regulars. I arrived after the rest of my party and was addressed about 5 minutes later for my drink order. I ordered a gin and tonic, the rest of my party ordered beers. There was nothing special about the gin and tonic but it was a good classic one. While I did not order any food, two people at my table split a pizza. I have to say that it looked delicious and I would probably order one next time I stop in!
google avatar

Yelp
Food was excellent as always but our server must have been having a BAD day and unfortunately took it out on us. It took almost an hour to place our food order and the bartender actually came out and took our food order. We understand that weekends are busy but an hour to place a good order is a little crazy. We have been here before and not had this issue (when they were a lot busier) so I am not sure the problem. Good food and a great atmosphere but something was out of whack tonight with the service !

Yelp
Great dive bar with live music! My wife and I went here one Friday evening for a couple drinks and had a great time. They have a very large patio and two main areas inside. The staff was super friendly and personable. We had such a fun time listening to music and it seems like they book a variety of genres. Additional FYIs - - There are NO Happy Hour specials. - There are two lots for parking and both look to be shared with the recreational lot behind Gatsby's. - You don't have to turn at the light to enter the lots. If you're heading north on Hamilton, there is an entrance right before the light. Great stop for a Friday night outing :)

Yelp
I drive by this place multiple times a week, and it looks like a bar I'd really love, but I hadn't been there before. My co-workers had told me it's a pretty cool spot in the Summer, since it has a huge back patio and two volleyball courts, which I think they have some leagues play on during the week. Unfortunately, I didn't get the chance to drink there yet, but I heard that they had some decent food, so I decided to put in an Italian sub order for takeout. The lady on the phone, which turned out to be the bartender, was very nice, and took only 10 minutes for the food to be ready. The place itself is interesting to say the least. It reminds me of a bar that should be on a beach from the outside, but when you get inside there's all different levels of seating until you make it to the top level which is the bar. The whole place is a bit of a dive but a fun one. It was lunch time so only a few people were in, but I noticed they did have different activities during the week like trivia and open mic, so I'm definitely stopping by sometime this Summer, especially to chill on the patio. I was really surprised by how much I liked the sub. It actually looked like they put their own house made Italian on it as well, and they gave me some on the side as well. It was real tasty, and by the time I ate it, it wasn't even hot out the oven either. The bread was great, and it came with a ton of ruffles chips. I highly recommend. I've heard the wings are pretty great as well, so I'll be trying those at some point in the coming months and keep everyone updated. Overall, this looks like it could be a fun neighborhood dive bar in an area that's been built up quite a bit. The bartender was super nice, the food was tasty, and it looked like the drinks were pretty cheap. You can't ask for much more than that.

Yelp
This is a good neighborhood bar that was established in 1977. It serves the typical bar food of pizza(free at happy hour sometimes and it's pretty decent), wings, subs, and free popcorn. The staff is friendly, fast, and accommodating. On draft as of this review, they have Harpoon IPA, Pabst, Blue Moon, Bass, Sam Adams Seasonal, Alcoholic Cider(I forget which brewery it's from), Guinness, and the typical beers that purport to be American, but really aren't anymore. I'm looking at you Anheuser-Busch. They have a limited selection of scotches unfortunately, but they do make up for it somewhat by carrying Kraken Rum(Put a beast in your belly!)! In the men's room they have sports pages above the urinals and a cologne dispensing machine, but be warned the cologne might make you smell worse than you did when you entered. I've heard that the lady's facilities are ridiculously cramped so maybe you should pack some Vaseline and hand sanitizer in your purse. Live bands play downstairs, where there is another bar, tables, and a small dance floor. There is also a pretty sweet patio in the back with another bar and bands play there as well. There are some volleyball courts in back. They have coed leagues you can sign up for in the Summer. Also there is one of those touchscreen games, but it doesn't have naked photo hunt unfortunately. Go to Gatsby's on a Thursday or Weekend night and bring some friends, tip generously, leave all pretension at the door, and have a good time!

Yelp
Review only based on cold beer, awesome bartender and AMAZING women's restroom! The bar is older...your local, comfort place to grab a drink - but ladies, the bathroom is great. Recently remodeled and clean! Bartender was a Steelers fan which was all the better. Great personality and very outgoing. We didn't order any food but the meals that came from the kitchen looked appetizing. Would recommend stopping by for a quick drink or two!

Yelp
I went to Gatsby's for a friends birthday. It's certainly not a place I would typically be drawn to but I'm a good sport. It reminded me of something that would be popular in my small town growing up. Small town, dive. Fun, if you're into that sort of thing. I'm not. That being said, these places can have great food. Sadly this wasn't my experience here. My friends LOVE this place. They are African American and this place could not be more white. And the food is not great so I'm having a difficult time figuring out this equation. I had the chicken fingers which are supposed to be really spicy. Guess what? They're not. They clearly are not made fresh there. They were just meh. The cheese balls...I mean how can those not be good? Well, you guess it...no. I can like really bad for you food on occasion but it has to be delicious. This stuff just doesn't rise to that level. I'd be interested in their pizza. Maybe that would be good. We also shared the quesadilla. I mean how do you not make a quesadilla good? They managed it. Sorry guys. This was a big miss. The service was fine once they got going. And by "got going" I mean I got there after my friends did, was there a good 20 minutes...no one came up and acknowledge my arrival or asked if I wanted a drink. I finally went to the bar and asked if I was supposed to order at the bar. The server was behind the bar socializing with the other staff.

Yelp
Food was very good Nice surrounding friendly bunch really enjoyed myself Thank you. I give you 4

Yelp
As many have said the appearance can be deceiving. It's a nice local bar to enjoy bar food and some good bands throughout the year. AJ plays there regularly and he's just a fun entertainer to watch. The lower bar has some great bartenders that know how to keep the people happy with great service, even in a crowded environment. I'd give it a try if you're in the Gahana area.
google avatar

Fana M.

Yelp
Don't change. I have only been there once. Came straight from a workout to reward myself for burning calories with more calories, I felt slightly out of place and underdressed (sweats and a winter coat). The weight of the package was hefty, the serving outstanding, the satisfaction lasted three days (so did the serving). I do hope to return and get my calorie-filled fix after a reward of a good couple days of physical activity.
google avatar

Nancy K.

Yelp
The pizza is surpassingly decent and the bartenders and owners couldn't be any nicer and accommodating. It's a pretty tight space so I wouldn't try to watch a sporting event here as it can get quite hectic and not great tv angles from the booths. While I appreciate the dive bar feel, the exterior could use some tlc. People love this place and are super loyal so it gets busy on evenings.

Eileen L.

Yelp
We hadn't been here in at least 25 years. A woman at our bank said they have the best chicken wings. I said extra crispy, no breading she said yes. We gave it a shot and they were horrible. The pineapple jalapeño sauce was a puddle of flavorless grease. The boneless wings were soggy in same tasteless sauce. The nachos with cheese were missing most cheese. On positive side meatball sub ok. We won't go back. I haven't eaten chicken wings at bw3, signatures, wild wings, longhorn and all roosters. I'm a fan of bone in flats extra well done so far signatures and longhorn are my go to. Roosters tenders and potato skins best. My friend had the boneless at gatsbys she said horrible but wouldn't send them back. The pretzel bites greasy no salt.
google avatar

Eric M.

Yelp
It's ok. Typical bar with a lot of space. Food was ok. I did like how cheap it could be if you took advantage of their specials. Meh.
google avatar

Martin P.

Yelp
Stopped here for awhile on St. Patrick's Day to grab something quick. We stuck around for pint or two, because the place was pretty packed. I did take advantage of the unlimited corned beef and cabbage, and split an order of nachos with the Mrs. The nachos were delicious... the corned beef and cabbage was pretty good. The bartenders were friendly and attentive, which anyone knows can be a challenge for a place that's slammed for St. Paddy's... not to mention opening day for the NCAA Tournament. Beers were very reasonable, with no upcharges for the holiday, which is nice for a place that tends to have a nice (and crowded) party for St. Patrick's. Overall, a really good time. It's nice to have a nice neighborhood bar like this just down the road a bit.
google avatar

Yelp
Gatby's in Gahanna is pretty good. i fell in love with the wings and the pizza is okay... but really love the wings the inside is very dark and the such. kind of dingy. But the wings are good. imma see if they are open now so i can get me some.

Yelp
I love the atmosphere of this place! Reminds me of a place from back at my home in the Ohio Valley. Good fresh food and friendly people! We started off with their potato skins. My husband had a cheeseburger and it was huge! It came with fresh cut French Fries, which I dipped in my gravy!! YUMM!!! I had the lunch special Roast Beef meal (hot roast beef sandwich) with mashed potatoes and gravy and green beans, with little bits of bacon in the green beans. We even helped ourselves to some of their good popcorn while waiting on our meals! So good! I would love to go back to watch a few bands in the summer. They have a really nice outdoor area! This is my kind of place!

Yelp
If you want that small town bar n grill atmosphere you will not go wrong at gatsby. The owner Doug is a great guy and the staff are awesome. Food is great . Award winning wings. Bike night ever Saturday. 11th year of a bike raffle to benifit a very sick young lady . Stop in get to know the staff and Doug

Yelp
Perhaps the weekend before St. Paddy's Day is not the best time to judge a bar. Or, maybe it's the perfect time. This place looks like it's had many additions so it is pretty much the bar version of the Winchester Mystery House. That said, it was nice to be able to sit upstairs and not have to hear the band that was playing downstairs.. We ordered some food and drinks at the bar from the very busy, but friendly, bartender. Now, I am not sure what it's like on a normal weekend but their pints were much larger than your standard pint (I'm not complaining!). There isn't a huge beer selection but there were a couple of beers that I haven't seen anywhere else in town so it's not all the usual suspects. The food wasn't really anything special. I had the nachos which were good and a large portion for being called an appetizer. The boy had some chicken tenders and was underwhelmed... but, he didn't get any sauce and chicken tenders are pretty much a sauce delivery device. Overall, this place was a relaxed, locals joint with friendly servers and some damn fine people watching. The crowd was skewing a bit older on this night but they were having fun and fun to watch.
google avatar

Mike H.

Yelp
Ordered a pep pizza and hot wings last week. This was my second time being there. Both times the pizza and wings were really good. I prefer Roosters's wings but it's a different style of wing here. I don't think they're breaded and it's a more traditional type of wing in my view. Really good, not my favorite, but good for a change. Don't expect anything fancy. Good quality bar food type place.
google avatar

Jason K.

Yelp
Gatsby's is my go to restaurant for pizza during the summer. They have two great patios, one in the front, and one in the back where they sometimes have bands that play. My go to order is a large pepperoni pizza, but they also have good chicken wings. My wife likes the wings in the Jim Beam sauce. Beer prices are good and selection is okay, but when drinking here I normally stick with Yuengling.

Tim M.

Yelp
Have gotten food here several times, they have excellent food, wings and service!! Will definitely order here again!
google avatar

Chris E.

Yelp
I had the All American burger and it was pretty good. The live music was great and the beer was the cold. Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was that there was nothing that seperated it from other similar places.
google avatar

Mindy W.

Yelp
Gatsby's the is the place to hang out in the neighborhood. The food is OK, but not awesome. You come here for the entertainment and the atmosphere. The patio is fantastic and HUGE, but the stage is pretty small. Also, they run trivia in the cool months, which is fun. Judging by the sheer number of reviews that say the pizza is awesome, I guess I'll have to get pizza the next time I go!
google avatar

John H.

Yelp
Was there last night till 2am. Good and friendly service. Tap domestic tall beers are $4. It wasn't crowded. Music was good and lots of tv's.
google avatar

Liz L.

Yelp
It's super bowl 2015 made a order for take out and we got burgers and fries and nachos and fried pickles and side salad. The burgers were ordered medium they were good and so were the fries. Nachos not so bad the chili tasted like it was old and way more chips than toppings. Fried pickles were breaded not battered, they were pretty good. I liked my side salad it had nice toppings but for size it was not worth 4.25. Over all it was pretty I would go back and have a drink.
google avatar

Jane B.

Yelp
I'm a business traveler and am in the area 10 days a month. Used Yelp to find a good place to relax, listen to music and have a beer. Both times I've stopped here it was after 10 pm. Apparently the only time the staff pays attention to customers is during the day or when they have live entertainment. Customer service is not their specialty.
google avatar

Kelcie M.

Yelp
The atmosphere was awesome but or waitress was a little clueless on almost everything. The food was pretty good also. I had the small Bleu Chicken Pizza which was the perfect size and very delicious. My friends had the wings and raved on them.
google avatar

Amanda S.

Yelp
Fun atmosphere. Excellent pretzel balls with cheese sauce. I haven't tried the pizza yet but it looked and smelled delicious. Beer prices weren't bad, bartenders all seemed pretty nice.

John T.

Yelp
Gatsby's used to be an entertainment destination maybe 20 years ago. Sadly, it seems as if ownership hasn't put any money into the place since then. During my last visit, there was a stench coming from the sewer or a dumpster that was so foul, it was like a rotting carcass or human waste.....all over the outside bar area. Somebody needs to invest in better infrastructure.

Jeff H.

Yelp
Incredible bar! Great staff. Affordable beer. I love this bar so much, I drove down from Cleveland the week of my wedding just to go here.

Robin M.

Yelp
If you plan on having a couple beers or drinks this is not a good place to go! The local Gahanna police patrol the parking lot to see how long patrons have been there, and I have even seen them come in and walk around while on duty. I have also witnessed patrons being pulled over as soon as they pull out of the parking lot! I believe in driving on safe roads but they are actually very over the top!
