The Gaylord Rockies Hotel Just Opened With Seven Bars and Restaurants - Eater Denver

"Aurora’s new mega hotel, situated 7 miles from Denver International, opened Tuesday looking like a little city sprung up between the capital and the airport. Gaylord Rockies Resort & Convention Center packs in 1,501 rooms, 486,000 square feet of meeting space, and seven food and beverage options, putting “everything in one place” for travelers who like that sort of thing. The Gaylord hotel brand, a Marriott offshoot, is expecting to do big business in Colorado with convention-goers, generating $275 million a year in economic activity. Operators told the Denver Post they already booked 1.1 million rooms over the coming years, including half the rooms for 2019. About those seven bars and restaurants (plus room service), they include a steakhouse, an Italian fine-dining spot, a sushi bar, a sports bar, a lobby bar, a marketplace, and a coffee shop. The sports bar has views of 75-foot TV screens; the lobby’s 75-foot atrium window looks out to the mountains and Denver’s skyline. Here are some words used in a press release to describe the various food offerings: “Angus beef,” “artisanal cheese,” “seasonally-inspired,” “modern sushi,” “mouth-watering burgers,” “late-night noshing,” “eclectic-inspired cocktails,” “grab-and-go,” and “Starbucks.” Outside, there’s a lazy river and mini golf." - Josie Sexton

Just a short drive from the airport, this resort is beautifully tucked away with stunning views of downtown Denver and the Rocky Mountains creating a picture-perfect backdrop. As you step inside, you're welcomed by soaring ceilings, an impressive indoor waterfall, and a massive wall of windows that frame the mountains beyond. The rooms are exceptionally quiet — no hallway noise at all — making it a peaceful place to relax. The outdoor pools offer a fun and family-friendly vibe, with great music playing and attentive staff regularly checking in to see if you need anything. Inside, you’ll find five diverse restaurants and bars, a convenient on-site store, and a charming little gift shop. This resort has everything you need for a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

This is a massive resort hotel and sits out on its own estate. It’s not walkable to anything off-site so you’ll need a car to get anywhere (e.g. Denver). Fortunately it’s just a few minutes drive from the airport so useful for my purposes as I was attending a conference and I was flying in and out. I stayed two nights in total.||Unfortunately as I arrived a power cut happened, lasting over an hour. No big deal but it did delay matters with the conference registration and setup. If that wasn’t annoying enough I also wasn’t able to get any reliable TV service during my entire stay. Other guests said they had the same so it wasn't an isolated incident. On the first night the TV service had issues, and on both nights YouTube didn’t work at all (ironic given I was attending a streaming TV conference at this resort).||It’s definitely more upscale resort for families rather than business hotel, complete with on-site bars, restaurants, shops, pool etc. There were a far amount of kids and families in swimwear mingling among the conference guests.||The room was quiet, spacious, clean, and had everything I needed other than a working TV service. If I’m being super picky I found the bathroom layout a bit strange with separate shower room to the toilet/washbasin room. It seems they built this place with families more than solo business travellers in mind which probably explains this, and the fact my room had two double beds in. Otherwise it was clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. For the cost and convenience I’d stay elsewhere if I was visiting Denver. This place is HUGE, and it takes a while just getting around it. It's fine though if resorts are your thing.

We had a great staycation at the Gaylord! Beautiful rooms, great service, and awesome pool! If you have kids and want to have fun at the pool, the cabana is the way to go and worth every penny. If you can get in Josh’s section, he’ll take care of you! He gave our group phenomenal service! Plus he was fun! When a storm rolled in and we had to move indoors, he helped carry all of our stuff which included a lot of baby stuff. He was great! 10/10 would recommend!

Google
Stayed here to share the water park with the kids in my family and was not disappointed. This is a terrible place to stay if you want to visit Denver. Unless you want a chain restaurant, it takes at least 30 minutes to drive to anything else. And there’s nothing within walking distance. But the time spent at the hotel is great. The pools, slides, and lazy river were great fun. Rooms are surprisingly nice. Food at restaurants was good too. Gum better than most, Will do this again.

Google
What a fun weekend! We spent a couple nights at the Gaylord, with a cabana by the pool. We had a blast! Our cabana server, Hannah, was THE BESTEST EVER! She took exceptional care of us and sang us show tunes and Disney songs! We had even more fun because of her! ❤️

Google
What a wonderful resort! Loads of fun things to do (yard games, indoor and outdoor water activities including several slides, lazy river and pools/hottubs, arcade, delicious food, etc.). The service was excellent by all parties we encountered including the life guards who were very present. As Marriott members we were upgraded to a Presidential Suite which was the nicest room we have ever stayed in (and we have stayed in some lovely upgraded rooms). Would love to go back again and have more time!

Google
I’m here for a conference. Lots of fun. Hannah by the pool is amazing! I do wish that more things were open until midnight. We had sessions that ended at 11 and weren’t able to get food or snacks or anything. For a hotel of this size it’s shocking how few places there are to get food and snacks at night. The same goes for the morning. The marketplace and Starbucks would be perfect in a small hotel, but for an event with 3,000 people both are severely lacking.

Google
This is one of the best Gaylord hotels I have visited. Beautiful scene and spaces. The rooms are typical Marriott with pretty much everything you need. The guest services from valet to registration are great. The convention area is well designed and clean. The patio and view is prob one of the best feature. Restaurants are ok and the market has tons of items to fulfill your needs. The prices are a little too high. Def recommending this place to any nobody coming to Colorado.

Yelp
Really enjoyed this hotel. Stayed here on the first leg of my Colorado trip. There is so much to do here. Came here last month when they had ICE slide and frost. The ICE slide was a lot of fun, and even I could slide down.... Frost was a really cool show and the dancers were very entertaining. Large pool areas and an indoor pool area for kids with large slides. Has a lazy river outside too. This property is huge and the best Marriott resort I've stayed at. Best sports bar outside of Vegas! Highly recommend staying here if you are coming to Denver as it's right next to the airport.

Yelp
Expensive? Yes, but great service and beautiful facility makes Gaylord a winner in my book. The minute we walked in the door and saw the grand lobby upscale bar and halls filled with art, we knew the facility was special. Check-in was easy and quick. Our room was spotless and comfortable. Rooms are super quiet. The eleven guest elevators are amazingly fast. The housekeeping crew is super friendly and accommodating. Room amenities include a coffee maker (with coffee and tea) and a safe. Unfortunately there was no microwave, which would have bern handy for reheating leftovers. The pool complex is incredible. There are indoor and outdoor heated pools with slides. An indoor lap pool is unheated. And there are 2 outdoor hot tubs and 1 indoor hot tub. There was plenty of tables and lounge chair near all the pools. The lifeguard team is the most dedicated and focused group of guards that I have ever seen. Towels are provided upon entering. The main pool has a nice shallow area for kids. I spent 3 hours at the pool everyday and there were many times when I was the only one in the pool. The outdoor pool has amazing views of the mountains. The staff offers craft classes and games throughout the week. There is a snack bar and bar located near the pool, which is convenient but fairly expensive. There are pickleball and basketball courts as well as a putt putt golf course, which are complimentary for resort guest. Equipment is available near the pool. In addition, there is a lot of nice seating outside and walkways. I did use the fitness center a couple times and was blown away by the nice equipment and amenities. That said, I did have a 30 minute wait for a treadmill during one visit. There is a spa, but I did not use it, so can't comment. There are about seven restaurants, a market/coffee bar, a large gift shop and a Starbucks located throughout the facility. We enjoyed the Copper Table and Grains and Greens restaurants. The Convention Center is beyond huge. There are lots of common areas to sit and socialize outside the meeting rooms. The place is spotless with lots of interesting art. Parking is expensive, which doesn't make sense because there is nothing close to the complex. The resort is only 15 minutes from the airport and about 14 miles from Denver. There is no nearby shopping and the closest grocery store is about 3 miles away. All in all, a great place for a convention with lots of amenities. The high pricing ($400/room) made it difficult for some attendees to participate. I'm not sure that I would go for a vacation stay. They do take dogs. But I'm guessing the up charge will be hefty.

Yelp
**Holiday Event Review** Because who could afford to stay at the Gaylord? It has become a tradition for my bf and I to enjoy the Cirque and ICE! events. This year seemed a bit underwhelming however. We always try to get lunch reservations at one of the fine establishments in the Gaylord but they are always booked. No matter how far in advance and by recommendations from a summertime outing. So with that we attended an afternoon showing of "Cirque: Jack Frost" followed by a walkthrough of "ICE!". While the Cirque show is always impressive (incredible acrobatics and lovely choreography) the ICE! display was not the coolest of deals. The latter events ticket cost seemed high for a display that provided us a mere 30 minutes of entertainment . The line for the slide was too much of a wait to enjoy it and I feel like The Polar Express was a display once when the Gaylord presented an array of holiday movie settings (3 or 4 years ago). This year's experience may impact our choice to attend in the future as we both feel the overall cost (don't forget the cost of parking too) was not worth the visit.

Yelp
Just coming back after a 10 day stay at the Gaylord and what a great experience! All of the staff I encountered were friendly, helpful, and went above and beyond to accommodate our large group's needs. On the room side, the beds were extremely comfortable with great pillows, and the daily housekeeping service was detailed and great to come back to each night. The staff on the conference side went to great lengths to meet our needs, providing excellent and timely assistance. Julio, who provided refreshments to our main meeting space, and Thomas, one of the teal coats for our group, were both exceptional. The facility, though located away from pretty much everything, makes you forget how far you are from Denver Metro and offers an excellent getaway and event space!

Yelp
This place was huge like truly one of the biggest convention centers I have ever been to. The staff at every restaurant was very nice, this is like a cruise ship on land. all the food and drinks were good, nothing was spectacular and obviously overpriced. Amenities were standard, rooms were nice but also nothing spectacular. This wouldn't be where I book for a stay in Denver but they handled the large convention I was a part of very well

Yelp
Christmas Eve we saw the Cirque du Soleil show "Frost" in Bubly Theater at Gaylord's Rockies Convention Center. (Note: Cirque du Soleil began as street performers in the early 1980s.) This was a fun family Christmas show! Parking was easy with lots of spaces, however there is a $15 charge. We arrived a little early & were ushered to our seats. The theater was transformed into a winter wonderland with a small stage in the middle & seating on all four sides...really not a bad seat anywhere. The show is only 50 minutes, no intermission, perfect length for families with small kids. The world-class stunts & fantastic acrobatics were very entertaining. Live Christmas music played thru out the show by an outstanding violinist. I never could figure out a storyline between the acts & Jack Frost, but the show was enjoyable none-the-less. While at Gaylord's check out the other Holiday activities such as ICE! & The Mistletoe Village.

Yelp
Think suburban hotel trying its best to be a destination resort and failing miserably. This place is beyond awful. 21$ for a small tube of toothpaste and a sharpie. I paid 10$ for a grilled cheese only to find out it wasn't even melted in the middle and was still kind of cold. They didn't have the walking Christmas lights outside like in years past. Maybe because they didn't charge for it. I get the lack of outdoor activities because it has been unseasonably warm these past few weeks but no lights?? The pool bar charged 10$ for an angry orchard which is ridiculous. 15$ for a daiquiri with alcohol. The menu prices were ridiculous too. Had to stay again but not because I wanted to. The room fridge barely worked. The rooms lack microwaves (probably to encourage eating at one of the terrible restaurants) which I haven't seen in well over 2 decades. There is also be thin blanket and certainly not enough to be comfortable. Parking is now $33 a day AS A GUEST!!!! Next year I will stay at a local hotel and Uber to the Gaylord for the comps. I hate this place more and more. I wish I could leave 0 stars.

Yelp
Ice sculpture exhibit. The sculptures were very cool. The slide was a blast. The resort us enormous. If you can afford a $40 dollar ticket and $15 for parking it is a fun experience. Tip, bring a hat, gloves, and scarf it is chilly. I thought the price was highway robbery especially considering had to park in the Ice lot was full so I was forced to park in the back 40. The signs for parking said 13, but for Ice it is 15. Would I go again, no. Do I recommend it, if you can afford it then it is a fun experience.

Yelp
Such a poorly run hotel. I arrived a day late because I had a sick child. Despite my messaging of the hotel, they canceled my reservation and had absolutely zero sympathy. I had to find another hotel, yet unfortunately still come here because of a conference hosted there. Separately, we had a lunch reservation at the Copper Table within this hotel, and we waited well over an hour for food to arrive. It came so late that my colleagues had to leave without eating to make it back to the conference. Again, no apologies or acknowledgment. I will not be coming back here.

Yelp
I visited for a conference and enjoyed my stay. The resort is quite large with plenty of space for the large number of guests. Staff were accomodating with an early check-in and providing a colleague and I with rooms that were near each other. There were several restaurant options and the ones we were able to try were solid. There were also a couple of cafe locations and little shops which were convenient. I loved the outdoor spaces--we enjoyed a hot cocoa by a bonfire my first night there, which was a great touch. Though it got too cold and snowy to repeat that other nights, I still enjoyed watching the snow fall from the large windows out the back of the lodge. The pool areas looked really nice, but I didn't have a chance to truly try those out either. My only complaints were that there was a used water bottle in my room when I first arrived, no wash cloths. Easily remedied, but not the best touch. The location is quite far from downtown Denver as well, so I don't think I'd pick this for leisure, but for a conference they have everything you'd need.

Yelp
So we stayed at the Gaylord the weekend! It's a little cheaper than Wolf Lodge in Colorado Springs! We went to Ice and saw it the theme was great and it is a treat for my family! The food was great but expensive! To stay at this place you have to have money! To me it was well worth it and it was a great gift for the holidays!

Yelp
Gaylord Rockies Resort & Convention Center - A Spectacular Retreat in Colorado! I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Gaylord Rockies Resort & Convention Center in Colorado while attending SHRM's Inclusion Conference, and this property exceeded all my expectations! Nestled against the breathtaking backdrop of the Rockies, the resort offers a perfect blend of luxury, comfort, and natural beauty. I stayed on the 15th floor, the highest floor, and the views were simply stunning! Every morning, I woke up to a panoramic vista of the mountains, an awe-inspiring sight that set the tone for a fantastic day. The architecture and design of the Gaylord Rockies are outstanding. The grand entrance with its towering glass windows gives you a sense of both grandeur and warmth as soon as you walk in. The property is expansive, with a beautifully maintained outdoor space complete with lush landscaping, fire pits, and cozy red Adirondack chairs, inviting guests to relax and take in the crisp mountain air. It's the perfect spot for unwinding or networking with colleagues after a day of sessions. The rooms are incredibly spacious, with a modern, rustic charm that's both stylish and comfortable. The attention to detail is apparent - from the plush bedding to the thoughtful amenities that make you feel right at home. My room on the 15th floor offered unbeatable views, and I could see both the bustling activity of the resort below and the serene mountain landscape beyond. The combination of these elements made my stay truly memorable. Every aspect of the resort is designed to make guests feel pampered and relaxed. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, always ready with a smile and eager to help with any requests. The on-site dining options are excellent, with a range of choices that cater to every taste, and the food was consistently delicious. Whether you're here for a conference or a relaxing getaway, the Gaylord Rockies Resort & Convention Center has something for everyone. From the stunning property grounds to the luxurious rooms and world-class amenities, this place has it all. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Colorado - you won't be disappointed!

Yelp
Stayed for a large conference and found the property impressive and enormous. You can literally not leave the resort and have a variety of experiences. The room exceeded expectations and housekeeping was attentive and thorough. The restaurants were quite solid. There are plenty - sports bar, cantina, steakhouse, English... and lots of places for drinks with beautiful grounds and views. The room service prices are very reasonable and food was good. All staff experiences were great. No complaints. Probably a great venture for conferences, meetings and families.

Yelp
Took our cynical chef son here to experience something Christmasy. He was knocked over by the massiveness of this place. We were somewhat disappointed by the lack of Christmas decorations, although what they had was festive. We didn't go into their ICE display, which was The Polar Express. We just walked around and enjoyed the atmosphere. We noticed that something was different within the open space, there was a giant bar with lots of seating. One of the employees said that the river had been removed due to underutilization. We were disappointed with their discussion, but that's a giant corporation for you. Beware, parking is expensive.

Yelp
I attended the show Ice qt Gaylord Rockies and I had a great experience. The place is beautiful and very clean. Their customer service is excellent as well. I totally enjoy the shows they offer. I'll definitely book a staying next time while in Denver.

Yelp
I was not a guest at this resort and conference center but my 17 yr old daughter was. She attended an international youth convention with roughly 5000 kids her age. Although I am certain that the resort was awesome this review is about one employee in particular. Daniel. He works in the Lost and Found / Safety and Security department with Marla. At least he did on the morning of my call. As many 17 year olds, my daughter is a social butterfly and as flighty as can be, especially around her friends. Upon arrival the convention had a marketplace set up with goods for sale where she bought many items. As you may have predicted, she lost the entire bag of goods. Every day I asked her if she had checked in L&F and she said "Yes and it's not there! Someone stole it!" She has been home now for 2 days. We have scoured the internet trying to replace the items lost to no avail. She is miserable which, anyone with a teenage girl knows, means we are ALL miserable. So, this morning I called the resort myself. Long shot (longEST shot EVER). Needle in a haystack. NGH (Never Gonna Happen). Not a chance in Hell. I somehow knew that when 5000 kids evacuated the premises there would be an ocean of stuff left behind but I also did not expect that anyone would care enough to swim through that ocean to look. The call was really for me to feel better knowing that I did everything I could to help. Daniel answered the phone. Told him my tale of woe and at every break in breath he responded with "Copy that!". He asked for the best number to contact me at, I gave it to him, and I went back to work. Less than half an hour later I got a text with not one picture, but SEVEN pictures. Godly Saint Daniel with Gaylord Rockies Safety and Security found the bag and took pics of every item in it just to make sure that this was the bag my kid lost. OMG!!!!!!!!! HE FOUND IT!!!!!!!!! I can not contain my excitement and gratitude to this man. He has helped me accomplish the (seemingly) impossible. He climbed that mountain. He swam that ocean. He f#@%ing DELIVERED!!!!! Now I am waiting to hear from Marla to arrange shipping. I am hopeful that I can get the stuff home safely so that I can straighten my crown and resume the title of Magical Unicorn - Mother of the Century! To the Big Wigs at the Gaylord Rockies Resort and Convention Centre Marriott - GIVE THIS MAN A PROMOTION AND A RAISE! Always acknowledge those that help you achieve your missions!

Yelp
I recently stayed at the Gaylord Rockies Resort and Convention Center in Denver, Colorado for the OLC conference, and it was an amazing experience. This visit completes my stays at all five Gaylord properties, and I'm excited to hear they're building a new one in California--definitely on my bucket list! Each Gaylord hotel has its own unique charm, and the Gaylord Rockies is no different. My room was outstanding--clean, immaculate, and very comfortable. The resort's restaurants are unique and convenient, meaning you don't have to leave the property for meals. This is especially important since the hotel is in a relatively remote location. While there are many new homes being developed around it, it's still a bit of a drive to stores or groceries and even further to get into the city. The conference center is huge, which gave me the chance to get a lot of steps in. The hotel staff and the conference concierge were all welcoming and courteous, making the stay even more enjoyable. Best of all, the airport is only 5 to 10 minutes away, which is incredibly convenient. If I have to visit Denver again, I definitely want to stay here and bring my family. If you're looking for a great hotel with all the amenities, Gaylord Rockies is the one!

Yelp
Well thanks to the greed of this resort I am no longer darkening their hallways. I was wanting to attend NDK and was trying to park. These two gentlemen were standing at the entrance of the parking lot and said that the fee to park was $33.00 flat rate. I told him what about the hourly rate you guys usually do. He said to alleviate the blog of departure that sales said to charge that rate. I said even if I'm only going in for an hour to pick up my badge? He said yes. We had to pay $33.00 every day. So do the math. I paid $55.00 for three day badge. Parking is $99.00 plus the over priced food in bar I would have bought plus items at booths. I'll take the $55.00 loss on badge. Too bad I can't transfer it.

Yelp
Attending an event. The hotel is pretty. It has changed from when I stayed there. Never attended an event so was curious. We ended up parking in a lot closer to the hotel entrance as we didn't want to walk to the convention center parking which is lonelier. Restrooms by the event halls were ladies or gender neutral which caused some men confusion. The hall was nice - Adams hall - but only has one side as entry. The other is the kitchen area which I found out when I tried to answer a phone call during the event :) The food was not great. Chicken with goat cheese all over it. I dislike goat cheese and it couldn't be scraped off really. And two people at our table had to send theirs back as the chicken was not cooked through. The dessert was meh. And the server didn't understand the social cue of 'thank you' as when to stop putting dressing on my salad so it was swimming in dressing. I'm glad I got to attend the event but right now not impressed with the quality of their food. It was good of the server to find tea for me and another guest since we don't drink coffee.

Yelp
Unfortunately I was extorted here. I spoke with the manager "McKae", by giving calm constructive feedback for training his team as I train in customer service as well. He apologized, wrote my room number down and assured me that he would credit my account back $25. Unfortunately, he is not a man of his word because I checked my emailed bill went I got home and he did not care to follow through. The back story to this is I called the hotel in advance to inquire about a delivery. I have had items delivered to all brands including Marriott, however I always call in advance to provide a heads up. When I called to inquire I was told by an employee that guests have items delivered all of the time either from DoorDash, Amazon or Instacart. I'm familiar with Amazon so I had water delivered and schedule to arrive when I arrived at the hotel. When I checked in the front desk said they didn't have it in the back and to try the business center where FedEx is. I went to FedEx and they told me to go back to the front desk. To save you time, I was sent back and forth a few times. After pushing and pushing that my delivery is there at the hotel "somewhere" FedEx employee Karina shared that Amazon will often say they delivered an item however the employee steals it. I basically begged to please look for my order. She went to the area where they receive packages and came back with my water. She weighed it and told me I needed to pay $25 for storage and handling. So in order for me to get the water I paid for and had shipped, I now had to pay $25 for her to get it from the delivery spot and hand it to me. I was extorted. So when I spoke to the manager of the hotel "McKae" he said he understood, apologized, and would credit my account $25. At first he thought I checked out already, and he said he wished he could help. However once I told him I wasn't checked out, this is when he wrote down my room number to credit my account the $25. Whelp. He did not. We have a large group that is planning on using this hotel, and I certainly will share this experience and ask them to reconsider it using this hotel. I do not recommend this hotel. Experience and integrity is of importance. This experience really has damaged my relationship with Marriott and I have stayed in many. It's unfortunate that customer service is tanking in so many areas.

Yelp
Lodged here for 2 night and 3 days for a conference. -Tuesday, I arrived to a line out of the door of guest attempting to check in. Luckily, there were two separate lines for Elite members. I think I was in & out within 10 mins #Perk I checked in around 11am, set my bags down & went to the Mountain Sports bar for lunch. We ate on the top floor which offers a limited menu. I ordered chicken tacos, rice & black beans. Chicken was seasoned nicely. Wednesday- I decided to try the store with Starbucks & they had a ton of pastries. Of course I ordered a croissant & dirty chai with oat milk and a scope of vanilla bean powder. No disappointment there! Wednesday night - we dined at the Steakhouse (under renovations) but it did not compromise my experience. The food was amazing- bread & butter was delicious! Danny was our waitress & he was super nice. Thursday I decided to try the same store with Starbucks & miss Shawn was sweet! She took care of me. Thursday for lunch we went back to mountain sports bar (bottom floor) with full menu. We were told the wait would be a hour but management made something shake. My overall experience was great!

Yelp
This is a strange place. Is it a hotel at the edge of the rockies, or is it a destination? They definitely try for the latter, with supplying lawn chess, Adirondack chairs, a big pool with slide, &c. Still, with a bustling town like Denver close by, and the Rockies only a little further, why are you going to a resort? Being way at the edge of town and not near anything, they have a captive audience. On top of the very high room rate, food prices are also high. That's offset by the fact that they have a couple of stores that can supply you with prepared food and other necessities. Of course my only reason for going there was for a conference. So my room rate was more reasonable, for starters. The center is very large and everything is nicely set up. I've seen worse conference centers.

With world-class amenities, including a spa, family-friendly dining, and the thrilling Arapahoe Springs Water Park, every moment spent here is a celebration of luxury and relaxation. The food & drinks were amazing. We were given a chance to roam around. I love the vastness of this location. My favorite part was the outside area with chairs and fire pits and live music!

Yelp
This place is GINORMOUS! I came here for my daughter's cheer competition so that the place may have been more packed than usual. There were long restaurant lines, so be prepared to spend a lot on price-inflated snacks. But holiday decorations made the place extra festive, and there was plenty of stuff to do, including the ICE exhibit and a lazy river. It would definitely be worth a staycation.

Yelp
This is not a resort in the regular sense. This is an airport hotel/convention center. However, it basically has a water park for kids. So, if you're stuck at a convention here, your kids will at least have a good time. The rooms are nice as they're basically new. The beds, of course suck, not sure why these places can't invest in quality mattresses. I'd like to say there are stellar views, but this place is so far from them you have to hope for clear air and good vision. You're pretty much out in the middle of nowhere, but Denver is a quick 30 minutes away. Oh and despite having massive amounts of spots, they want to gouge you for parking. I'd say attending a conference is the only reason to stay here.

Yelp
Staff was great service was great however as a single mother who works very hard 9 to 5 job every single day including Christmas, I get three days off so I want to take my kids to the Gaylord but it's $75 to take a picture with Santa that is not affordable for me. My kids were so disappointed when I told him they couldn't have apicture of Santa, and then when they saw the ice show, they wanted to go so bad but my card got declined when I tried to pay for it. Because the price of the room per night you would think that they would have enough money to not charge that much for the ice sculptures and for a picture with Santa Claus but no.

Yelp
Impressive place! I was here for a conference and was amazed at the size of this facility. Additionally, for some place so big it was clean and well-managed and I felt very comfortable here. Currently, this gigantic place sticks out from the prairie like a mountain rising from the land. I'm sure within a few years it will be surrounded by houses and strip malls, but right now driving up to it, it felt like going up to the hotel in that movie "The Shining". Luckily, nobody was chasing us with an axe here. Check in was smooth, although we arrived really early so our room wasn't ready. But the lobby was comfortable and I was able to get some work done and then got a notice my room was ready after about 30 minutes. The room was nice and very clean. We had daily service and the staff was super friendly and did a great job of keeping the room spotless. The conference facilities were nice as well and I loved the views of the mountains out of the windows. We stayed in the east building so it was a bit of a hike to the conference center and our main room was far apart from our breakout rooms. On the plus side, that meant I got 10,000+ steps each day without even leaving the building, but it did take about 10 minutes to get back to the room. The pool area is very nice. We had lunch one day at the cafe by the pool and the food was fine. The indoor pool is still closed after the unfortunate accident that happened a few months ago but the weather still allowed some of our friends to go in the outdoor pool and lazy river, along with the hot tub. There is also mini golf and basketball courts. The restaurants here are fine, but as you're captive they can be a little pricey. My husband and I went to the breakfast buffet in the Italian restaurant one morning and $75 for two people for some cold scrambled eggs and soggy bacon was not a good value. The Mountain Pass sports bar was a little better but you really are trapped here if you don't have a car so you'll just have to deal with what they have...that includes paying $4.50 for a bottle of water at the little market they have. I bought one bottle then just refilled it with the water coolers in the conference center. Because of that, the main drawback is that if you don't have a car, you're kind of trapped here and any Uber/Lyft ride is going to be a minimum of $20 each way....more like $30-40 if you're going all the way into Denver. Otherwise, you'll have to eat your meals at the restaurants here. They are fine but pricey for what you get and after a few days, you may want more variety. However, overall we really enjoyed our time here and were impressed by the facilities and the staff. We're thinking of coming back for some of their Christmas shows as that would make a nice family trip.

Yelp
The hotel was beautiful all the way around inside & out. There were many options and amenities with so much to do, without even leaving the location. Indoor & outdoor pools, jacuzzis, basketball courts, mini gulf, bikes for local riding. I did it all. My favorite part was being able to rent the bikes at no extra cost. I got to ride around the campus and also got to ride in the beautiful neighborhoods close by. The scenery is great. You can see many mountains surrounding the area. A few of them still had snow. I can tell the entire area is expanding an d becoming a new part of town so in a few months there will be many other shops and stores near the hotel. Food and things in the marketplace were a bit pricey but the hours are very convenient. Overall my stay was fun and I enjoyed as much as the kids.

Yelp
This place is always a good time! This is the first time we were able to utilize the water park, and it was so much fun! We could have spent all day out there! There are plenty of food options both sit down, and grab and go. Lots of fun hotel activities!

Yelp
I was there for a convention this July 2024. This resort is amazing escape for reconnecting with yourself! Amazing room with a view on mountains, great outdoor and indoor pools, selection of places to eat from cafes, sport bar, steakhouse and great upscale lounge with amazing stuff was making me feel like I'm home and don't have to rush anywhere! I enjoyed my each day there and wanna definitely go back again!

Yelp
Excellent hotel and convention center located right outside the airport and a decent distance from Denver. Friendly staff and great in-house amenities. Great bars and restaurants. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

Yelp
Don't expect that paying over $600 for a standard room will get you even the most basic customer service. Its impossible to call the hotel and speak with a local onsite employee. Unbelievable!!! Expect a long check in experience.

Yelp
Took thirty minutes just to leave the parking lot. They really need to get a better system down if they're going to host events.

Yelp
This has been our 6th weekend in a row visiting the Gaylord Resort and it just gets better and better. We now haven gotten to know some of the staff and they greet us like genuine friends! Ana, the front desk manager is amazing! Larry, the outdoor restaurant manager has gone out of his way to make us feel welcome. The best pool side server is Kaci!! She is wonderful, super friendly and makes you feel like royalty!!! Wow Thank you all, we can't wait to come back next weekend!!! Sergio & Jill Alcazar

Yelp
We went there for a spa treatment and to enjoy the day, service very good. Enjoyed the lazy river, pool and spa. Have a meal at the pool restaurant, chicken sandwich, very tasty. Also, had salsa, guacamole and cheese trio dip and was yummy.

Yelp
I was honestly surprised to see such low reviews. However, I can see that some people would be put off by the current construction and the limitations this might create for some of the facilities. I stayed here for three days for a conference. I requested an earlier check in for my flight, so just before 1:00 PM, I received a notification my mobile key was ready. It was probably because of my phone, but I could not get the mobile key to let me into the room. (This was my first time trying the feature.) I went to the front desk for a key. They asked if it was okay that my room was upgraded from two queen beds to a king-sized bed, as I was the only one listed on the reservation. Sounds great to me! Once I got in my room, everything looked excellent. I loved the view of the mountains in the distance and the fire pits below. The staff members were amazing throughout the conference. They worked SO hard with everything from food to the conference spaces to giving great advice about the area. Every encounter with a staff member was nothing but positive. The only part of the facilities that gave me pause is the Colorado Ballroom. Participants could feel the entire floor was moving, flexing, and shaking during the Thursday concert night. (I heard that those who attended the morning yoga session felt the same thing.) Now I'm no structural engineer, but after hearing that part of an HVAC system collapsed not that long ago, it makes me wonder about the integrity of this floor. Hopefully it was just made to flex, but it wasn't an experience I can recall from any other building. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay at this beautiful resort and I would be happy to attend another conference here!

Yelp
We worked a trade show that was in the convention center at the Gaylord. So we were lucky enough to stay in the resort and enjoy all it has to offer. The whole premise of the hotel is that you will never need to leave since they have everything under one roof... We didn't leave the building for the whole 3 days we worked the show. The have a few restaurants and stores on site, a lazy river outside and indoor heated pool, a beautiful spa and gym, and so much more! They also had a few more restaurants under construction while we were there, so we are curious how those will turn out! The only thing that can use upgrading is the beds need some sort of foam topper, because they were uncomfortably hard. Other than this the resort is beautiful and convenient!

Yelp
I thought the mass produced food was very different and impressive. It could give a cruise ship competition. Rooms were very functional and spacious. Pools were nice.

Yelp
Highly recommend as a resort! Good selection of restaurants, friendly staff, clean environment and lots of activities to do in any season. Close to the Denver airport and a 20-30 minute Uber ride to local attractions.

Yelp
Updating a year later. This place continues to disappoint even with the new restaurants and updates. Once again got horrible food and service at the Mountain Pass. Parking has gone up even more. It's obscene. Everything is wildly overpriced and wildly underwhelming. This is our 5th year coming for Christmas as a tradition. It will be the last and will find a new one.

Yelp
We drove from Fort Collins for a special day with our two grand daughters at Polar Express Ice. The exhibit was amazing the extra activities were amazing and we had a fabulous time until we tried to find something to eat. The hotel should post on their website there is only the Mountain Pass restaurant open for sit down dining after 3:00. After being out there all day, we were all starving. The mountain pass had a 45 minute wait. We were not the only family with starving children trying to find somewhere to eat. We left and went somewhere else.

Yelp
Don't eat at Garden and Grain. The food is very very underwhelming and expensive for low quality food. The chicken came out cold, the chicken strips were burnt, the mozzarella and pepperoni rolls came out very burnt- literally had to send back and I never send back. Recommend eating somewhere else - NOT Garden and Grain.

Yelp
Our mistake.. We are from NE Florida.. never saw snow, Thought this would be a great snowy holiday.... The Place is amazing, much more reasonable costs than our Florida resorts. Turns out we just couldn't go outdoors, it was so cold, nights in the 20's and days about 36. We never experience being so cold.. we just couldn't get warm! we stayed in the room with the heat turned up. Snow was nice, OK we saw it,,, lets get back to Florida... BTW: Food was great, service was very good. Pool was heated - but it was 36 degrees outside! The surrounding area of Aurora is urban,, Denver, barren and gloomy. If you like cold and snow this is the area for you.

Yelp
Beautifully decorated for the holidays! Book early for best pricing on rooms. Staff was busy during our stay but tried their best to provide great service. Restaurants are pricey but there is a marketplace for quick grab and go items.

Yelp
Overall a really nice hotel! We went for a weekend for the ICE! Exhibit and had a great time. Beautiful Christmas lights and decorations, and all the guests dressed in Christmas pajamas made it feel like we were all a huge family. The exhibit was fantastic and we would definitely come back for that. The employees were all really friendly and we were pleasantly surprised by the food also, having sort of low expectations based on some of the reviews. We only ate at the Sports Bar but we all enjoyed it. The sandwiches we got were really good. Also, the pools and lazy river and fire pits were incredible and we would come back just for that! We loved taking our little 1 year old swimming for the first time but had a tough time finding a place to do so. There are kids and adults sections but nothing for "tiny" kids separated from the bigger ones, and it was hard to find a spot somewhat removed from all the bigger kids doing cannon balls and throwing footballs to let our little one just experience being in the water. The room itself was disappointing. Nothing specifically wrong with it, but it all boils down to "for the price." For the price of almost $400/night, you're in a room that feels like $130/night. The shower is the same stand up one I've seen at Courtyard Marriott standard rooms, in fact the entire bathroom was similar. The bath products I thought would be nicer quality since it's branded by their Spa line, but they were actually pretty bad so definitely bring your own. They did provide us with a Pack N Play for our baby, and some bed sheets which was nice but we brought some anyway. Clearly what you are spending money on during your stay is not the room itself, but everything else. Speaking of spending money, we had to laugh that the self-checkout lines in the market prompt you to leave a tip. Ha! Also the Starbucks does not accept payments from the Starbucks app on your phone, so you won't get rewards or anything for that. Maybe the biggest let down was the morning of check out. We got a knock on the door at 9:30am from housekeeping asking us about leaving, but check out is not until 11am. It woke up my sleeping baby and left me feeling pressured to leave, like we were being rushed out. Definitely a vibe kill. I have no idea if that is standard practice, but it's never happened to us at any other Marriott property before. Our little one's sleep schedule was interrupted and we ended up having to deal with that fallout for the rest of the day, which wasn't great. Overall, we did have a nice weekend trip! Glad we went!

Yelp
8/31/24- This place should have negative stars. I have been attending NDK for years here and every year this hotel makes it a nightmare. Everything from bad customer service, to bad food, parking Nightmares, to having their HVAC collapse on pool goers (videos can be found). This year they are actively stealing from con goers with their parking. They had an agreed hourly (and publicly advertised) hourly rate, but now they are auto charging the full fay price even if you are there only a couple of hours. They are charging the con goers more then other guests who can get the hourly rate. This place needs boycotted if not shut down . This parking thing this year is active discrimination against con goers.

Yelp
Beautiful Resort, feels like a village. Lots of places to eat, grab n go, bar, spa and indoor.. I believe they have an outdoor pool but didn't see. They keep all the bathrooms clean, plenty of them almost every corner. Friendly staff. I the only thing I didn't like was the self parking was very expensive, it's about 4 hrs $13, $23 for 8 hrs and $33 for more than 8 hrs.. But being here for the conversation it became a bit expensive.
