Gelateria Artigianale Antonietta Cecere - Review - Trevi - Rome - The Infatuation

"Even if it’s your tenth time in Rome, you’ll probably still end up at the Trevi Fountain. Weave past the restaurants trying to lure you in for a lackluster lunch and come to this family-run gelateria instead. The selection is small, since everything’s made in the back kitchen. Don’t skip the house specialty: caffe affogato con semifreddo allo zabaglione, a perfect combination of hot coffee and sweet cold eggy cream." - Gillian McGuire

If you're looking for a delightful treat that captures the essence of indulgence, I highly recommend visiting for their Nutella crepe, hot chocolate, and coffee offerings. This charming little spot has quickly become my go-to destination for a sweet escape. From the moment the Nutella crepe i was entranced. The crepe itself was thin and perfectly cooked, with a golden-brown hue that suggested a careful hand in the kitchen. As I took my first bite, the warm, gooey Nutella immediately enveloped my taste buds, creating a heavenly combination of flavors. The sweetness of the chocolate hazelnut spread was perfectly balanced by a hint of buttery goodness from the crepe. Topped with fresh strawberries and a light dusting of powdered sugar, each bite was a delightful explosion of textures—soft, velvety, and rich. It’s a dessert that feels like a warm hug, perfect for any time of day. To accompany the crepe, I ordered the hot chocolate, and it was, without a doubt, one of the best I've tasted. The richness of the chocolate was evident, making each sip a cozy embrace. It was creamy and velvety, not overly sweet, allowing the deep flavors of premium cocoa to shine through. Adorned with a generous swirl of whipped cream and a sprinkle of cocoa powder, it felt like a luxurious treat that warmed me from the inside out. It’s the ideal companion to the Nutella crepe—comforting and indulgent, perfect for cold days or whenever you need a little pick-me-up. As a coffee lover, I couldn’t resist trying their brew, and I’m pleased to say it exceeded my expectations. The coffee was rich and aromatic, with a smooth finish that made it delightful on its own or paired with dessert. The barista clearly knows their beans, as the coffee offered a balanced flavor profile that could be appreciated by both casual drinkers and coffee connoisseurs alike. . The staff was friendly and attentive, ensuring that my experience was nothing short of exceptional. Whether you’re catching up with friends or seeking a quiet moment to unwind, the ambiance is just right. The Nutella crepe, hot chocolate, and coffee create a trifecta of indulgence that will leave you satisfied and smiling. Whether it’s a treat for breakfast, a midday snack, or an afternoon pick-me-up, this café has mastered the art of comforting sweets and delicious brews. I can’t wait to return and explore more of their delightful menu!

Our taxi driver told us we must try zabaione, so we did. It was super thick and creamy, similar to the mascarpone filling in tiramisu. I loved a few bites of it but was too heavy for me to finish. On the other hand, both of my daughters Stracciatella (vanilla with chocolate swirls in it) and loved it! It was delicious. I loved that there were beautiful, tempting dessert just at 5 euros (like tiramisu, strawberry or pistachio tiramisu) that you can grab and go to enjoy at your convenience

Probably the best gelato I’ve ever had in my life. I had pistachio and nocciola and both were absolutely fantastic. My wife had tiramisu, and it was just as amazing. Lorenzo, who works there, was super friendly and offered us a taste of their famous zabaione flavor. It was incredible. A must if you’re anywhere nearby!

New Years Eve, not too busy. Tiramisu gelato was ok. Cream bread was very creamy. Decent stop to grab something but not a destination.

We had Tiramisu and a biscotti with pistachio ice cream. Both were very good, but to be honest we had better. The guy at the counter was very nice though, not typical for a crowded place like Rome, especially over eastern.

We had a 2 Tiramisù and gelato. Tiramisu for €5 with lady finger or sponge vanilla of 1 cm thick and all mascarpone cream on top was not good in here. Get some gelato instead. Service staff is 5 ⭐️ here.

Based on the price, the variety of the flavors, the taste of the ice creams, the service, the environment and the area this place is one of the best to take your ice cream and go for a walk in Fontana di Trevi. The best flavors we have tried were "fragola" and "nocciola". "Frutti di Bosco" wasn't that amazing. I recommend it and I'll go again.

Good variety and quality given the fact that it is so close to the Fontana di Trevi. Very helpful and kind stuff.
