Google
Gelato Paradiso hands down has the best gelato in town. The staff is friendly, the flavors are plentiful, and you can sample before you commit which is perfect because choosing just one is nearly impossible. The best part is that you can mix up to four flavors in a single cup! Yes, the line is usually long, but trust me, it’s always worth the wait. If you’re craving authentic, Italian-style gelato, this is the place. Perfect to beat that summer heat so don’t miss it!

Marissa

Google
You won’t catch me waiting on the line that wraps to the PCH, but I understand why people are willing to do 😂 Very tasty. Parking is easiest in the structure behind the building.

Hakan Akel

Google
A hidden gem just steps from the ocean! Creamy, authentic Italian gelato with rich flavors like pistachio, stracciatella, and mango sorbetto. Portions are generous, and the staff are friendly and happy to let you sample. Perfect treat after a beach walk—definitely worth the wait if there’s a line.

Google
Best gelato in California! We make sure to stop by everyday when on vacation in Laguna. I’m Italian and this is the closest to being in Italy.

Google
Gelato Paradiso is the freshest tasting gelato I have had. There are so many good flavors to choose from. The place gets super busy for good reason so go earlier rather than later. Great place and I highly recommend it!

Google
Line was pretty long but worth it. Staff were friendly. Portion sizes were good. Would visit this location again. I gave it 4 stars because the gelato may not have been as smooth and creamy as I have had it at other places. But, it was still yummy.

Vexivero

Google
While it is not the best tasting ice cream / gelato I have ever had, it is well above average and they give you a lot, hence the 5 stars. I got the large cone, which they give you 3 large scoops for under $10. The picture really doesn't do justice to how big it was in real life. My 3 flavors were vanilla, chocolate and peanut butter. The peanut butter didn't have a strong flavor, so I wouldn't get it again if I ever go back. Chocolate had a strong coffee taste, which I do not like in ice cream / gelato. I thought the vanilla was amazing, however. I saw a guy making it in-house through the window while waiting in line, so it's not generic pre-made preservative-laced food. Not sure about other locations in California under the same franchise, but this one is amazing.

Google
Visiting Laguna again and being a sweet tooth brought me back to this place the second time the ice cream was not that creamy and also a little runny for an ice cream the flavors we got were Tiramisu, chocolate chip, blackberry, strawberry cheesecake… The waffle was too thick and hard to bite

Yelp
Great gelato. but the cleanliness was very bad. i saw one of the employees digging in his arm scratching...AND THEN started rearranging the waffles cones (without gloves may i add) no longer wanted a waffle cone after that and got a cup. good but dirty

Yelp
This charming gelato spot is tucked away in the cutest little alley, offering a delightful hidden gem experience! Despite the long line, it moves quickly, making the wait well worth it. The gelato is delicious, with a wide variety of flavors to choose from. The prices are reasonable, and the location is perfect for enjoying a sweet treat while taking a leisurely stroll through the neighborhood. Parking can be a bit tricky since the roads are pretty small, but there is public parking lots around the area that are around $4/hour. Highly recommend for anyone in the area!

Yelp
If you're roaming around Long Beach and looking for some desserts, come into Peppertree Lane. Gelato Paradiso is tucked away in this cute alley at the other end. You'll also find small shops and boutiques on your way in. Gelato Paradise offers a variety of flavors including a flavor of the month - this month is Kit Kat Gelato!! Surprisingly our favorite out of the four flavors we got (we also got buttered pecan, tiramisu, and cookies & cream). The gelato's are creamy and not overly sweet. You have the option to choose a regular or large cup and waffle cones. We got the regular cup and we had the option to choose 4 flavors.
google avatar

Mia S.

Yelp
I love all the unique flavors they have here. Everything is creamy and not too sweet! Only thing is I wish we could've tried more flavors, as they only let us try two each.

Yelp
Popping! This little gelato joint was packed with the line going out the door and down the corridor. The smell of fresh waffle cones drawing everyone to the shop. It smelled like heaven! And I knew that I couldn't pass up this opportunity. I got a regular sized cookie dough flavored gelato. It was delicious! It had little pieces of cookie dough in it. Yummy!

Yelp
While exploring Laguna Beach, my boyfriend and I stumbled upon this cute little nook that had Gelato Paradiso. There was a long line, despite it being a chilly day. I was impressed. Even from the outside their gelatos looked really vibrant and smooth. It was definitely time for a treat. I convinced my boyfriend to share with me since all of the patrons leaving had huge portions. We shared the regular size Cono ($7.85) which comes in a freshly made waffle cone, and up to 3 gelato flavors. I didn't ask for any samples since there was a long line behind us and I didn't want to be inconsiderate. I know they give it if you ask cause other patrons were sampling. We went with the hazelnut, mint chip, and a seasonal white chocolate peppermint. The staff wasn't friendly but operated quite efficiently to handle the demand. There was these cone holders at check out but the cashier handed it to me, and I had to juggle to pay with my free hand, since I had already sent my boyfriend off to find a place to sit. Speaking of seating, there isn't much seating in the area. We sat on some ledges my the parking garage nearby but it wasn't that clean. Some seating nearby would be nice. Anyways, back to the gelato. Just as tasty as expected. The consistency was smooth. The flavors were subtle and not overly sweet. Nothing was overpowering and it all went well together. We both really enjoyed the quality of the gelato and would consider coming back they next time we are in the area.

Yelp
The gelato here was DE. LICIOUS. I just wish parking in that area wasn't metered! I hear there's another Gelato Paradiso at Fashion Island, so I'm for sure gonna try that one, too. Got a lil' cup with three flavors, I believe one was dark chocolate-based, another was coffee-based, and the last was Stracciatella. They have an awesome selection of flavors there that made it so hard for me to choose. My first bite impressed me so much that I was seriously considering going back to get another cup for the road home. Rich, decadent, sweet but not in the way that sickens you. More smooth than icy, almost looked like it was whipped and fluffy. I honestly don't care if foodie snobs condemn this type of gelato and don't think it's "real" gelato based on how it looks and tastes - I enjoyed it thoroughly. It did melt fairly quickly, so enjoy the gelato right away! Service was quick, as there was always someone available to help you with samples or with your order. The actual shop front was slightly tricky to find since it was inside an alley between buildings.

Yelp
Best gelato!! I love that you can get a small and still choose up to 4 flavors! The small was the perfect size!! They had plenty of options to choose from. They let me sample some of the flavors to help me decide. In the end the overall service and ambiance was great! I will definitely be coming back. If you're in town, I highly suggest stopping by. It's a wonderful treat to end your night. Worth the calories

Yelp
There is so much to love about Gelato Paradiso. There's a parking structure nearby. We came during the week and there was a line. I immediately knew we came in for a treat because the people in line were making their own recs with us. Customer service was super patient and friendly. We ordered the small and was able to get three flavors each. We ordered pistachio, espresso, salted caramel and hazelnut. We could taste all the flavors - so impressive! I would definitely recommend!
google avatar

Yelp
Just adding to original post of how wonderful and memorable our ice cream experience was here! I had more pictures of the amazing gelato I forgot to add! can't wait to go back

Yelp
From start to finish this place is so worth waiting in line for. Located down PEPPERTREE LANE, an alley off the Main Street ,PCH you walk down and the shop is located next to RUE DE CHOCOLATE. Check in on Yelp and get $1 off a waffle cone. I got coconut and pistachio, they let you sample as mush as you want I think within reason! Everything tasted so fresh and delicious. My daughter got a kids cone with raspberry and vanilla, she really enjoyed it and the portions here are huge, I couldn't finish my cone! Will be back for a gelato treat when back in Laguna!
google avatar

Keerthi D.

Yelp
Gelato Paradiso is a Gelato store in Laguna beach known for their flavors. There's paid street parking nearby. The line here is always long, but it's because you get to try as many flavors as you want. It moves kind of slow, but the gelato is worth it. We ended up getting 2 1/2 and 1/2 scoops. The blackberry chocolate chip was pleasantly balanced well, the panna cotta was a little sweet, the Nocciola tasted like nutella, and the dulce de leche was delicious. The consistency wasn't the best that I've had for gelato, and it was a little pricey, but the unique flavors made up for it. It was a good sweet treat while we were near the beach!
google avatar

Ria B.

Yelp
I got the lemon sorbet, raspberry sorbet, blackberry stracciatella, and strawberry cheesecake. First of all the fact that you can get four flavors in one scoop is already a reason to go to this place. Then on top of that the flavors were sososo good, I have never had straciatella with blackberry and it was definitely one of the best gelatos I've had even when compared to Italy. The flavor was so good and the texture of their gelatos was so silky and creamy. My other favorite was lemon sorbetto which has such a strong and good lemon flavor something that is often missing from lemon flavored desserts. There is usually a line out the door but that's because the place is pretty small, no worries though because it is in the cutest alley so waiting is very pleasant. The staff allows u to sample as well. Definitely coming back to SoCal for this one gelato place
google avatar

Caroline G.

Yelp
Gelato is always delicious here. I had the strawberry and Italian crème, great combo. The strawberry flavor tasted natural and had the tanginess of fresh strawberries. The lane it is located on is perfectly tucked into the center of Laguna Beach. There was no line on the Wednesday evening I visited, but any other time I have been there is a line of at least 15 people. Worth the wait, though!
google avatar

Michelle H.

Yelp
Line looks long but moves at a good pace! Definitely worth the wait if you are in the area. The gelato thick and tastes so good, they have a lot of flavors to choose from. You can get samples to try out different flavors to see which one you like. You can also get multiple flavors if desired! Great spot for dessert after dinner and you can walk around enjoying the view.
google avatar

Cathy H.

Yelp
Nice place! There was a line as always but the wait was quick. Got pistachio, tiramisu and strawberry this time all were good! We could taste that the ingredients are fresh and rich in flavor. The cone was a little bit too sweet, but overall a nice gelato place.
google avatar

Susan C.

Yelp
Very delicious gelato ! All the classic flavors , you can combine flavors , multiple sizes and cones !
google avatar

Briana L.

Yelp
THE gelato & sorbetto destination in Laguna Beach! Right off Main Beach, totally worth the waiting in the winding line down an aisle to get served in this little gelato shop. Best chocolate sorbetto I've had. Guava sorbetto also very good. A bit underwhelmed with the blackberry gelato & the almond tasted more like vanilla. Very quick service, generous portions, esp for $8. No seating, so plan to eat standing in the alley.
google avatar

Jessica Y.

Yelp
Cute Ice cream shop in pepper tree lane. We came here for the first time Saturday afternoon/ early evening. The line was not too bad at all and the service is very quick. We maybe waited 5 mins. There are a lot of ice cream flavors to choose from, but they let you try a sample before deciding. I got the salted Carmel and Italian mix it was delicious. Price is $6.85 and you can get up to 4 flavors.
google avatar

Kaylynn Y.

Yelp
This place was highly recommended and so I knew I had to try it while I was in Laguna! We had to search for a while to find this place... Our GPS kept sending us to the wrong ice cream place. When we got there, the line was out of the store and wrapped around the corner. It was insane! My friend said, "This better be worth it!" And I think it was. We got to the front of the line (the line moved surprisingly fast- they were pumping people out like crazy!) and we were able to sample as many as we wanted. The summer flavors were especially fun. The store was clean and had a fun vibe. The employees weren't super friendly, but it was late at night and I'm sure they were sick of scooping. Don't skip on Gelato Paradiso - but be prepared to wait in a long line!!
google avatar

Alyssa A.

Yelp
I was really excited to try this gelato place because icecream-like desserts are my absolute favvv. I saw reviews saying the line can be pretty long but worth the wait, so we decided to join the queue and waited about 45 min. The line winds down a cute hallway, and the parlor itself is small. Because the line was so long, I didn't want to take up too much time sampling different flavors; plus the employee who helped me looked pressed on time. I ended up getting a large with caffe, hazelnut, and cookies & cream. A large can likely be shared between two people because the scoop portions are pretty big. I ended up not really liking my flavors that much unfortunately... I do wish I didn't feel pressured to order quickly, but that could've been a fault of my own. The flavors are pretty light (except for espresso which had a very very strong coffee bean flavor, obviously). I would give this place another try in the future if the line is much much shorter.
google avatar

Katherine N.

Yelp
After a long walk at Laguna Beach, we stopped by here for some Italian gelato!! It's refreshing and delicious!! They make it here on sight!! And the line goes down towards the street, but service is quick and efficient!! Staff is friendly and accommodating. We both got the espresso coffee flavor. So yummy!!
google avatar

Thanh L.

Yelp
The ordering was fast. We got to try the flavors before deciding. We got the mango, strawberry, and lemon sorbet. The very was rich and everything tasted good. A bit on the jig end on price but worth it
google avatar

Yelp
We went to Laguna beach on a nice day, and my lovely friend said we had to get gelato from Gelato Paradiso, and I'm so glad that she made this decision. The location is found in a small stone hallway off the main street, but the line is a dead giveaway that this place is good. For roughly $10 pre tip, you can get a large waffle cone with up to three flavors. My friend recommended a few of her favorites and I chose from those options. I went with the strawberry cheesecake, pistachio, and salted caramel. They all tasted exceptional. She had a similar cone but instead of salted caramel, she had the banana; I would say she made the right decision as the banana did taste better than the salted caramel. No regrets though, as both were good. We walked to the beach and enjoyed our cones with a nice view of the water. I think I will be visiting this location every time I come by Laguna beach in the future.
google avatar

Jessica A.

Yelp
Let me just say the girl coughed all over the gelato, I got so disgusted I didn't let her serve me. They should really be wearing gloves.. the same girl also touched her face.
google avatar

Jamie S.

Yelp
This was worth the hype! We went on a Tuesday evening while touristing Laguna Beach on a work trip, and there was a short line. It's a tiny little shop in the cutest alleyway. Gelato is delicious and the homemade cones are top notch. I thought it would be more expensive too, but it was great.
google avatar

Bridget M.

Yelp
While visiting Laguna my husband and I decided to try this place out. GPS took us to the alley entrance of the place because it's closer than the street-- but what we didn't realize is the line went all the way towards the street entrance! We looked down and contemplated the idea of finding somewhere else but a few people spoke up saying "the line is long but it's worth it!!" So we figured, we had the time let's just see how worth it this gelato is. The line didn't even take super long. Maybe like 15 mins? Once we got our gelato we were so happy we waited! The workers were very kind and handling the busy crowd well. The amount of flavors was a little overwhelming but nice to have options!! The area it is in is very cute and shaded most of the time so we stayed cool and even had some benches to sit on part of the time. I would go back and and wait in line again for this gelato.
google avatar

Susan M.

Yelp
I went back and forth between 3 stars and 4 stars and decided to settle with 3. Gelato Paradiso is probably one of the most overly hyped places in OC especially with their long lines at all times. I don't ever dare to go here on the weekends because I avoid crowds as much as possible so I went last night since it's the middle of the week. Ordered the trifecta: double chocolate, hazelnut, and chocolate chip. Yummy but definitely not worth standing in a long line for. Also you can tell the employees are all so over it heh...I don't blame them...
google avatar

Mike N.

Yelp
The service here is prompt and courteous, not at all jaded by the thousands of tourists who come here. The flavors of the gelato are bold and upfront very delicious, but what stands out for me is the creamy silky texture with perfect tempering. The place has a traditional ice cream shop feel to it and they don't attempt to stray from that model. There are a few places to dine inside but we opted to enjoy the product outside. For a business that must cater to the summer throngs, they have held back on the tourist pricing practice. I have sampled several flavors so far and have enjoyed them all.
google avatar

Christina N.

Yelp
Gelato paradiso is mouth-wateringly delicious and a must try when you're in the Laguna Beach area. It's a charming space tucked away in a little alleyway next to Nicks, so it can be a bit difficult to find. Also, The line is almost always out the door, but it is definitely worth the wait. The service staff is very friendly, helpful, and the prices are extremely fair considering what you receive with respect to the quality of gelato AND the generous portions! I've tried several flavours throughout the years, and my top three are: almond, tiramisu, and dolce de leche. My toddler, who also has great taste, loves their chocolate covered strawberry and chocolate. Anyhow, stop by when you're in area- You will not regret it. Don't let the line intimidate you. The line is long for a reason as they serve the best gelato in OC (& it's Made fresh daily). Not to worry, the line moves quickly & you'll will understand why this shop is always so busy after enjoying your first bite.
google avatar

Tifanie T.

Yelp
I had a great time at this place. It's at the end of a cute, little street. The line moves fast, and the ice cream is really delicious and creamy. I got three scoops on a cone for less than $8, which is a great deal. I'll definitely be visiting again. It's now my top ice cream spot!
google avatar

Tabitha M.

Yelp
Loved the selection offered I had the tiramisu flavor with mint chocolate chip The young servers working there are awesome! Very efficient and friendly Love this gelato joint
google avatar

Yogi I.

Yelp
The gelato is delicious. There are usually long lines on weekends, but they move fairly quickly. We enjoy the cozy ambience--it's located inside a small, old building with charming small businesses. It can get a bit chilly during winter, but the gelato is worth it!
google avatar

Eric W.

Yelp
Excellent gelato if you're looking for a quick summer treat! it's location is in a very cute alleyway right in Laguna Beach right downtown. We figured it must be really good because there's a very long line (that moved very fast). It's always a very good marker if the nondairy sorbetto is as good as the dairy base gelato. Highly recommend the chocolate sorbetto . If you get a large cup, you can get four flavors.
google avatar

Yelp
After a disappointing start to our gelato quest due to a broken machine at another top-rated spot, Gelato Paradiso saved the day in Laguna Beach. We drove by trying to find parking and it was difficult to find because you can't see the shop from the street. The entrance to the corridor to this shop is facing PCH. If your go down the back side of the building, on Glenneyre St, then you will find that there is a parking structure where you will pay at the pay station but after 7pm seven days a week then you don't need to pay. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a line that stretched out onto the sidewalk, showcasing the popularity of this hidden gem. Despite the wait, which clocked in at almost 28 minutes from start to finish, the anticipation only heightened our excitement. Once inside, the aroma of freshly made waffle cones filled the air, tempting us to indulge further. The gelatos we selected did not disappoint; each scoop was generously portioned and bursting with authentic flavor. I opted for the waffle cone, drawn in by its irresistible scent, and was not disappointed. While I wished for a few more adventurous flavor options akin to nearby competitors, Gelato Paradiso's traditional offerings still delighted my taste buds. The ambiance of the shop transported me to a quaint European ice cream parlor, exuding charm and character from a bygone era. Moreover, the staff at Gelato Paradiso truly enhanced our experience. Despite the bustling atmosphere, they remained cheerful, efficient, and patient, ensuring each customer felt valued and attended to. In summary, Gelato Paradiso may be tucked away from plain sight, but it's a hidden treasure worth seeking out in Laguna Beach. With its delectable treats, charming ambiance, and exceptional service, Gelato Paradiso offers a sweet escape for gelato aficionados and casual dessert seekers alike.

Yelp
A great gelato spot. Was a great find when we were hanging around the beach. Liked the chocolate and coffee flavors!
google avatar

Huey B.

Yelp
Nothing better than starting off your weekend with a visit to Laguna Beach and some delicious ice cream from Gelato Paradiso. When I arrived Jonathan behind the counter recommended some of the house favorite flavors. I ended up picking the Hazelnut Gelato, the Pistachio Gelato plus the Amarena Ciliegia Gelato from the three flavors I was able to choose from. I normally like my ice cream in a cup but since I watched Jonathan making some waffle cones fresh in front of me plus the incredible smell which filled the air, I went with the waffle instead. While I wasn't a huge fan of the Amarena Ciliegia Gelato, the Hazelnut and the Pistachio Gelato on the other hand were to die for. This was without a doubt the closest to Italian ice cream I had since my last trip to Europe. The Hazelnut Gelato was my absolute favorite! It was creamy, not too sweet, and yet very flavorful. Going forward I can't wait to come back to this amazing place and to give the other flavors a try. I'll be back. Enjoy and Bon Appetit.

Yelp
gelato paradiso is sooooo good! probably my 4th/5th time visiting. the amount they give is DEFINITELY worth the price! the portions are a lot more than you think. today i got the pistachio, espresso, raspberry, and toasted almond! i'd get all of them again line can be seemingly long, but goes by faster than what it looks
google avatar

Lynn L.

Yelp
ORDER cookies n creme, mango, strawberry (5/5) everything was so good and not too sweet, which i really liked! you can check in on yelp for a free cone, which was perfectly sweet and tasty. you can sample the flavors. this place is definitely worth the hype and the line moves fairly quickly. SERVICE despite the long line, service was quick and friendly. AMBIANCE the store is small and there are a very limited seats available outside. there is a parking structure behind the shop, as well as street parking.
google avatar

Kaylie C.

Yelp
THE BEST PISTACHIO GELATO EVER. I've tried so many gelato places around the world and I think Paradiso has the most accurate pistachio flavor. Other flavors are delicious as well, but the pistachio is just another level!
google avatar

Serene A.

Yelp
The line gets long yes but I feel this is a staple to get when visiting laguna beach. I loved the pistachio gelato it was very nice and creamy. It's in a nice building that has other cute shops. 4 starts because a server was rude to my friends when they asked to try more than 1 flavor.
google avatar

Claire G.

Yelp
Yes, this place lives up to the hype and yes, it's worth your time to wait in the very long line that wraps around the building and through the charming courtyard. Once inside you will be deeply rewarded . If you are a gelato lover, you will be in gelato heaven here! The problem, my dears is what flavor to choose? How can one possibly decide when there are like 10 that are screaming out your name? It's creamy & dreamy, & reminded me of the best gelatos I had in Italy. On this visit, hubs, and I tried the dulce de Leche, the pistachio and the espresso. The pups got their own little cup of vanilla, and I'm sure if they could've voted they would give it five stars as well!
google avatar

Francine V.

Yelp
One of the best gelato spots we've tried! This location is inside of Peppertree Lane along with a few other shops. The line wasn't too long, we waited about 15 mins but it can grow ridiculously long wrapping around to the outside during peak times. It moves fast though so don't get discouraged! You can smell the sweet waffles and contemplate on the wide array of flavors to choose from. We got a regular cone which you can get up to 3 flavors. The gelato is made fresh in shop daily and we loved that they offer free samples if you want to try any. We did feel a bit rushed when we asked for one though, it felt like the server helping us was just waiting for us to hurry up and tell her our order. Service is fast and efficient. Gelato itself is not overly sweet and creamy. Great place to to get a treat while strolling around. Check this place out if you're in Laguna Beach!
google avatar

Lina T.

Yelp
There is always a line! It moves at a decent pace, but if you're in a rush, it will be a tight squeeze. The gelato itself is pretty good. I loved the flavors (dark chocolate hazelnut, cookies n cream, and strawberry). The consistency was what you would expect from gelato and they do allow samples. Service was wonderful so there's not too much to complain about. It was $7 for this large but it didn't seem that large to us though.... Would I come back? Yeah if I were nearby, but I wouldn't drive out of my way for it though. FYI there's a public lot in the back of the alley. It's not worth it to circle around to find street parking.
google avatar

Allison R.

Yelp
We came on a busy Saturday night to try some highly recommended gelato. It took about 40 minutes to get to the front of the line. I was excited to see what all the hype was about! I ordered a regular size and was told I could mix up to three flavors. I opted for mango, strawberry, and raspberry in a waffle cone. My husband got a cup of s'mores. As it was really crowded, seating was also hard to find (no tables inside). This was tricky with a toddler but we made it work. Don't get me wrong, it was pretty good. I don't know that it was worth the long line. I'd go back if there wasn't a huge wait.
google avatar

Macarena O.

Yelp
My favorite Gelato place! When in Laguna Beach we always have to stop by here. I love that they always have themed ice cream and also have dairy free flavors. They always have unique flavors so I love that we get to sample them. You can't go wrong with quality Gelato! So good. They are super popular so sometimes the line is out the door but it moves pretty quickly.
google avatar

Margarita M.

Yelp
Well good thing I went there on Tuesday before noon since I heard they can get very busy. Got the blueberry gelato regular size. It was so good worth the hype! Not too sweet! Friendly service!
google avatar

Jamie A.

Yelp
No meal in Downtown Laguna is complete without grabbing Gelato Paradiso for a sweet treat to top it all off with :) Lines can get crazy long out the alley but time it just right and you're looking at zero to minimal wait times. My fan faves are the almond, banana, and stracciatella! Service is always wonderful and I'll be coming back for years to come. No seating inside but it's perfect for a grab and go treat as you continue strolling around downtown or the beach.

Yelp
I had a fantastic experience at this ice cream shop. They make their waffle cones in-house, and when I got mine, it was still warm. The staff members were incredibly friendly and helpful.
