Gelson's Sherman Oaks

An excellent and clean store with friendly staff in every department. The food is almost always fresh, and the atmosphere is welcoming. No matter when you come, you’re always greeted with a smile and kindness. We often come here for lunch and coffee, and it always feels like a pleasant break in the day. I highly recommend this store — it’s become our regular spot!

Usually I refrain from leaving negative reviews, but had enough from Angela. This store is nice with some nice people working, but the manager Angela is rude and unprofessional. She makes her own rules and treats people the way she wants. It's not the first time and I saw her treating customers unfairly and unprofessionally. She gives a very bad example to some employees, as how to treat or behave in some situations with customers. " Fish rottens from its head", if manager is not professional and customer-orieneted, what would you expect from employees. People on registers could be rude too.

I live next door to Gelsons, so it’s very convenient to run in for a few things. It's a little pricey, but they carry many brand names and a good selection of quality items. Great bakery, deli counter, soup & salad bar with hot food dishes available. Got a complete Thanksgiving dinner with all the trimmings, without going to a restaurant or cooking all day over a hot stove. Which was great, since I was on deadline with major script revisions and could keep on working while I enjoyed a nice holiday meal. Everyone who works there are helpful and really nice, so it’s a pleasure to shop there.

One star to a manager - Angela, who is rude and always complains about things to be done. Feels like she is at the wrong job. No customer service skills at all. Also the girl at the register, as others mentioning, could be rude and lazy... Someone should have a look at that

Awesome cheese section - w small pieces/nibs “mousetrap” available for the connoisseur. Best ice cream selection I’ve found in the area… Even noticed a customer leaving happily w a EXL soft serve - in a waffle cone!

don't come here if you appear low income. They profile you and follow you around the store like your trying to steal. I've never stolen anything before in my life but boy do these people make you wish u did. Worst customer service and security lady she is the rudest and most useless woman Ive ever met. She once was so busy watching me since I look poor that I watched an old lady steal a loaf of bread, foil, and peanut butter right in front of her but because she was too busy profiling me she didn't even notice. Dont come here if you don't have a nice car or nice clothes. THEY DONT WANT YOUR BUSINESS!

I think his name is Martin Lugo, he was fantastic. We were looking for something specific in the meat department and he got fresh stock for us from the back. Great customer service!

ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!! ANGELA, who is apparently a manager here likes to racially profile customers. I’ve shopped at Gelson’s for years and have never been treated in such a way. This was the WORST interaction I’ve ever had. I visited the store to pick up 3 items, a rotisserie chicken, crackers and hummus (that’s it). I gather the chicken and hold it in my hand, then I go to grab the crackers. Upon entering the cracker aisle, ANGELA is standing in the aisle slightly blocking the way. She takes a odd amount of time to move out the way, but I think nothing of it as I’m on the phone with my wife confirming what crackers she’d like. I proceed to grab the crackers and put them in my personal GELSON’S shopping bag, as I always do in multiple Gelson’s in the LA area. Soon as I drop the crackers in my bag, Angela pops up stating, “Hey, it’s against company policy to shop with that bag!”. I explain, I’ve shopped using the bag before and never once had a problem. She then states in a nasty tone, “you can grab a cart or basket but you can’t use the bag”. Now, I totally understand that there could be a policy for this and I don’t have a problem with the policy, but at this point she is approaching me as if I’m trying to steal or cause harm to the store and I didn’t appreciate that in the slightest. I leave my box of crackers in my bag and go about my business to finish shopping. ANGELA then proceeds to follow me around the store while on her walkie as if I’ve committed a crime. As this is happening, I spot another manager and ask them if what I’m doing is a problem. They say no and that it’s fine. I was going to just finish shopping, but as ANGELA was still following me i felt so frustrated and appalled I decide not to finish shopping. I hand the items back to her and leave the store immediately. It’s honestly just a sad and disappointing experience. In hindsight, starting from my first interaction with ANGELA, I know she racially profiled me because I’m a black man and that’s unacceptable. If this store wants to provide the best service to its customers they need to reprimand and most of all educate Angela so that no one else of a similar background has to experience the same thing.

I'm honestly pretty darn impressed with the Poke bar which is what my review is based on since this was my very first visit to a Gelson's. Fresh enough for a market, and fresher than most poke spots in LA. Great variety of toppings, sauces, etc. Clean bar, and overall great experience

Great selection! I travelled 12 miles to get here because none of the many markets near me had the ice cream I wanted and they had it in various flavors. This Gelson market is located in an outdoor shopping center with a few other businesses and a good size parking lot. Getting here was relatively easy as it is freeway close. Parking was plentiful. The first thing I noticed when I walked in was the hot food bar, full service deli and Humphrey's yogurt. Everything was tempting so I had to remain focused. As I walked through most of the store, I noticed they had a great variety of items that many other stores don't carry. The ice cream area had the best selection (suitable to my liking) that I have seen in a grocery store. Before I traveled here, I looked at their website to make sure my specific ice cream was in stock. The store was clean and organized with an old school feel. Customer service was friendly and helpful. The lines moved quickly as checkers came out when lines got to three or more people. Pricing was reasonable. I will make the trek here again without hesitation. *Dining tables for the deli, hot bar and yogurt shop were available both inside and in front of the store.

service has been very bad lately, pizza slice was a good amount, not its not even the half of the size, hardley fits your palm, foodcourt employees talking, mingling, while there is a huge line during lunch hours, disapointing, it used to be good for a quick lunch break.

Gelsons is an upscale local supermarket chain and this location is very nice and convenient. They have a large selection of high quality products. On some ofcl my recent visits I really liked the fresh fruits, salad bar and chocolate cherries were amazing. Service is fast and professional. I drop a star for prices, below avg. value. There is ample parking in their lot and nice outdoor tables.

My local neighborhood Gelson's is pretty swell. I don't stop in much, but when I do building a salad for lunch via their salad bar is fun though pricey! Always well stocked from produce to pressed juice. The service is friendly and it's never too busy, even on weekends however they do stay busy. I've enjoyed some bready things from the bakery, plus Vicktor Benes does some amazing vegan friendly pastries. You can pick up solid wine deals, hot meals and not so inexpensive thrills... The plant based products always seem to be more marked up here compared to any nearby grocers or chains [even Whole Foods and Erewhon if you can believe that]. Great parking in a shared lot with neighboring business, but pro tip: more parking in their back virtually private parking lot off Milbank Street/Sylmar Avenue just passed Best Buy.

I pranced in here because I was craving soup in the middle of the night. It was around 10pm so the hot soup bar was already closed and cleaned up. I was bummed because I thought my chances to get fresh soup was over. But after walking around a little I found that they have some packaged fresh soups along the first wall to the right when you enter. So I couldn't resist but I got their quart of Lobster Bisque and a pint of their Tortilla Soup. They were both so yummy. Now I know where to go first great late nite soup.

Gelson's has such good quality desserts here at their bakery section! I've tried several of their cakes before but their fruit tart is THE best fruit tart I've tasted. It comes with fresh, juicy fruits and the custard is light, not too sweet, and creamy. The crust is buttery and soft with the best crumbly texture to complement the sweet custard. I also recommend their coconut cake and strawberry shortcake as they make the cake so light, fluffy, and not too sweet! You can definitely taste the coconut, strawberries, and perfectly whipped cream!

Today I was feeling a little "boujee," and in need of "mixers" for my margaritas. So, this is where I landed. Great for gourmet/specialty items that you can't find at Ralph's. Yes, I am a little frugal...(makes shopping more fun)...So, there are certain things I refuse to buy here especially if I know I can get them somewhere else for less...just sayin They upgraded the "grab n go" section which is very impressive & super clean! They even have a "Poke Bar" if that's your thang. I am more of a "soup & salad" kinda girl. And let's not forget their infamous bakery inside...Vicktor Benes! So many yummy things Plenty of parking here in the lot. Just be patient with some of the bozos that don't seem to care that you are trying to park...they seem to be too engaged on their phones while walking to care if a car is coming. Oy!

I had a terrible experience with ESTELA, who was consistently rude and dismissive. When I asked her a question and provided my number, she raised her eyebrows and responded sarcastically. Treating customers this way is unacceptable. ESTELLA'S behavior is reflecting poorly on Gelson and we've been loyal customers but Her treatment of customers is unacceptable and damaging the company's image. Will speak to who ever supervise her!

The new bakery Mannolo's at Gelsons is a big disappointment! Pastries are stale and dry. Eckairs also dry snd barely filled with cream. Cookie selection is poor. No where near the high quality of their previous bakery Viktor Benes. What a shame! I now have to look for another bakery as I won't be returning to Gelsons.

I have shopped at this Gelson.s location a few times. I used to work and live in this area years and years ago, and this market would be my go to market once in a while. Produce and meats are always fresh. Customer service is good here too. Lots of parking since it is right near Best Buy and other local stores. Not the cheapest place to shop these days, and never was. Gelsons have really good food choices.

i'm always happy going every week but today a lady Rosemary or Mary Rose my boyfriend lost he's reeding glasses and he was on self cashier.. he's vision wasent good because today they broke he's window still he's glasses and he politely ask to Rose mary if he can help him she was so rude she say on. Rude way To what a help you ... lady if you was there and you don't want to help move yourself to online service he is coming to put police report feeling week no good vision and thirsty and hungry all the time all employees are excellent but that lady she was Rude and ugly personality even myself i got surprised i came help him i was getting our food i toll her if you don't want to help better pretend you are cleaning the sodas or something else after us a senior cudent pay and she did the same horrible lady

I have been shopping at the Sherman Oaks Gelson's for decades. When the Gelson's family sold the store this was the start of a slow but sure downward trajectory. It is my understanding that the employees hours were reduced to below 32 hours per week, so that the owners no longer needed to provide health care insurance. This changed the demeanor of every employee. But since the Japanese owner took over, the downhill trajectory has gotten steeper. Here are some things that I have noticed, and I have brought to store employees attention to no avail. The produce has slipped in quality, and things like cut watermelon are no longer prepared in the store. So the cut watermelon is usually several days old by the time it gets to the store. This makes me wonder if it is now being treated with preservatives. I buy Bellweather yogurt at $4.39 per cup, and I now see that approximately 1/3 of the cups are stored upside down in the refrigerator section. So when you take off the top, a large portion of the yogurt in the cup is stuck to the top. The same is true for the humus. The bakery is no longer Viktor Benes, and the quality has slipped. The deli is now terrible. The employees have a rude attitude and are often in the back and leave the deli unattended. The premade sandwiches use old lettuce and tomatoes. They are put in hard plastic containers. In many cases the container cannot close all the way because lettuce and/or meat is jambed between the top and the bottom of the container. And there is often an air gap of 1/8 to 1/4 of an inch. This means that the sandwich is much more vulnerable to bacteria. And sometimes there is a gap between the top and the bottom of the container because the sandwich was not carefully put in the container. Yesterday I asked for a sandwich to be made, and the croissant was stale. There seems to be little to no employee supervision by managers at the store or by managers from the corporate office. These are some of the things I have been seeing, and meanwhile the prices keep going up up up......

The produce department at Sherman Oaks Gelson's has recently been remodeled, and it looks outstanding. Ada, the produce manager, and her team ensure that the fruit and vegetables are always in top condition and provide exceptional service. All Gelson's Sherman Oaks employees are dedicated to going the extra mile to assist customers, making every visit a pleasure.

I LOVE SUMMER FRUITS So I was super curious about the Black Apricots. The cashier also hyped them at checkout. I picked up some for my mom and hyped them up playing to her curiosity... it runs in the family. They're NOT apricots at all. They're super dark velvety/ish plums. They don't have apricot seeds, they have plum seeds. They don't taste or have apricot texture meat... they ... are ... plums. They could be plums named Black Apricots because of their size... similar to the cherry plums. The BIG surprise... my watermelon was yellow... unbeknownst to me... perfect. I suspect grafted ... but it could be traditionally yellow. DELICIOUS. Get curious. Try something unexpected. Buy intuitively. It's Gelsons. You can't go wrong. Remember the days when the produce er would make recommendations? Now we have yelp! Oh, generally I prefer chilled watermelons, however in the case of the yellow, it was significantly more flavorful at room temperature in comparison to it chilled. Whichever permutation... ENJOY your SUMMER FRUITing. I think oranges are not in season. Peaches are about to embark on their best season. I don't think strawberries are summer fruits either... so much to learn. Bye!

All good on this visit except this is the 2nd time I've seen the hot food bar barren at the time it was supposed to be properly open ! I was trying to get a hot meal for lunch then something cold to bring to Hollywood Bowl for dinner, so I only accomplished half my goal ! Maybe they'll do better next time !

This review is for the bakery, specifically the crème brûlée, which seemed very old as it was dry and chewy. However, the other cake I got was good. Great service overall.

Today at Gelsons I had the pleasure of a security guard following me around staring at my every move. Funny thing Gelsons was OUT of every item that I came in for. A little bummed I couldn't use my $5 off of a $25 purchase coupon. Not a fan of being treated like I'm there to steal. Also, funny thing, I've been a member of the Gelsons loyalty program for years. But goodbye Gelsons, you gonna pull this kind of move then guess what? I don't have to shop at your store anymore. You've lost a customer. PS this take place about 7:45 Saturday night.

I only come here for the aioli chicken sandwich and Cesar salad at Wolfgang Puck Express. The chef is so kind and makes the best meals for us! The wait is only 5 minutes. We love her

I was shopping for someone at this Gelson yesterday evening (9/18/2022) and did not have a great experience. I've been to this location before but it's been years so i wasn't familiar with the location of some items. Usually when you ask for help to locate an item someone will walk you to that location to help you find it or they will get someone to help you. At this location, the employees just point to somewhere across the store and tell you it's over there. One of the employees did walk with me to one location and tried assisting me. The rudest employee was the employee who worked in the front behind the cheese counter. I asked where can I find the dough balls and he pointed his finger and did not say anything. I had to verify that he was pointing me in the right direction and he said something rude as if I was irritating him and as if I should know that's where the dough balls are located. When I told him I'm shopping for someone else and I'm not familiar with where the dough balls would be located he just stared at me and turned away. How rude!! Also the security guard will follow you around the store for no reason and make you feel uncomfortable. Every time I looked up I saw the security guard which made me very uncomfortable. I hope the next time I come to this location I have a better update. I've never been to a grocery store where so many employees where just not helpful and rude.

I was in this Gelson's yesterday. A homeless man stole food from the deli. Workers did nothing to stop him and handed him anything he asked for: sliced meats and salads, which is fine I guess. Prices will go up and we will pay for it. What happened next I'm not ok with. This man exited then came back into the store. He went to the soup and salad bars and touched the tops of the clean spoons, salad dressing tops and everything he could. He had feces on him. Smelled terrible. Employees (who I know can't stop anyone any more - not blaming them) but they did not clean up after him or replace the things he touched. Felt horrible for shoppers who want to pay for a meal and will be eating feces. This Gelson's is run by the homeless. Don't eat anything at the open food bars. It's all contaminated. Someone needs to implement food safety here. We pay triple there and it should be safe to eat there.

Here's a little update. This Gelson's is just so weird. I used to go to Studio City - always great. Lately, I've had to see an eye doctor in Encino just down the street from that Gelson's. THAT is an amazing store with great everything. And then we have Sherman Oaks. I don't get it. I'm there ALL the time. I but lots of stuff. And every time I'm there, day or night, whatever the hour, there's one or two checkout lines open. This is not why we shop at Gelson's, folks. Encino? ALL checkout lines are open. Same with Studio City. Sherman Oaks? Never. Ever. I was there yesterday buying my stuff. Two stations open, both with people with big carts of stuff. I turned to the manager or whoever was manning that station and said, "Could you please open another station?" She called for someone to come out - that someone never came out in the ten minutes it took for me to finally checkout. Please, Sherman Oaks, we love you but get it together, seriously.

Huge shout out in appreciation to Martin L in the butcher department in Gelson's on Van Nuys Blvd - he's a 10-star employee! We were looking at packaged meats as he approached and inquired whether he could assist. Told him what we were looking for, he put together a special package for our NYE dinner and pounded the meat for us as well. MARTIN L MADE OUR YEAR!! Ten months ago, we went to the Gelsons on Ventura Blvd in Encino. After shopping and putting items in our car, we needed to go to CVS across the street. The Gelson's security guard came up to advise us that if we walked to CVS - after already shopping at Gelsons, and he knew it as he watched us put the items in our car - our car would be towed since we were "no longer shopping at Gelsons" and hence, not entitled to leave our car in their lot. I've been living here in the Valley for 60+ years and have never been so offended by a total lack of care for a retail customer. Not only did we stop shopping at Gelsons - Encino, but our adult children and friends did the same. We'll never return to Gelson's Encino but will ABSOLUTELY return to Gelson's on Van Nuys, even if just to say hello to Martin L and see how he's doing. We all have many choices from Pavillions, Ralphs, Amazon Fresh, Vons, etc. Ultimately, it's the employees that make the difference in our decisions and Gelson's Van Nuys should be proud of their employees and the service provided! THANK YOU MARTIN L FOR CARING ABOUT THE GELSON'S CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE!!!

I bought some sushi today cause I was hungry for sushi I saw the price and it was too expensive But I said myself... it's just once in a blue moon So I grabbed it.. I started eating it and when I saw Inside the rolls there was more rice then anything else For the price of it you guys should put a bit more effort on making it better... Thanks anyways

I was at Gelson's today and got small poke ball. I came to cashier and it was 29 dollars. Are you serious for small poke ball . And I also got chicken salad.all the lettuce was frozen I couldn't eat it. I went to manager and told her about salad. She gave me store credit with very bad attitude. Never going here again

It was my first time shopping at Gelson's & really love the environment . Everything is so fresh . I told a worker by the name of Martin in the deli/produce that it was my first time here & he gave me samples of the sushi bar .He makes everything at the sushi bar daily so it's fresh. He knows what he's doing everything tasted amazing .He took time out of his day to make me feel at home , Very welcoming experience. Will definitely be going here for my Groceries from now on . Martin deserves a raise or a promotion

Hello so if you go into the Gelsons be careful Edwin and associate manager in the store he is verbally aggressive does not explain himself and says things like I really don't care what you think this is not the Gelson's customer service people expect to have supposedly their customer services based on the Nordstrom plan which is supposed to be the gold standard of customer service This morning I went in to do a simple return of two items student line return it I was told I had to go to mattresses I said no I'm not getting in line twice Edwin ignores his pages finally comes over talk to about four other people while he's processing my return walks over hand me a receipt with one amount for two items I said this is not an itemized receipt I need an itemized receipt

There is a Gelsons two minutes from my home. Always stocked, always clean. Great bakery, the princess cake is the best cake in the world and in general gelsons is a better market. They also have good sushi. Not mediocre. It's fresh and you can see and taste the quality ingredients. However !! The sushi party trays are a different story. disappointing! We ordered two trays and the rolls were much smaller and the sushi fish was so thin almost transparent with too much rice. It also tasted a little different than the regular sushi in trays. Fish was dry and not tasty and rice had too much vinegar and sugar. We ate it but no one was very happy.

I started shopping here with my grandparents before I can remember. But recently the store's security guards have been absolutely awful. One incident occurred when a guard came up behind me and grabbed me during a late night shop. I was in shock. I couldn't get an answer out of him as to what he thought I had done so I went straight to the manager. The manager didn't are AT ALL!! I tried to continue my shopping and as I walked up to the one cashier working the same security guard was just wrapping up his story about some "bi***" that shouldn't be shopping there. I won't ever go there again. Disregard for their customers and a strange policy about what their security service does makes me wonder how long it's gonna be before a woman is unable to shop there. GROSS

Are used to be a Ralph's shopper until Gelsons kept sending those five dollars off if you spent $25 postcards and because of that every time I go in I spend at least 100 and they get my business instead of Ralph's. Ralph's and pavilions have gas points but you have to spend 200 bucks to get $.20 off a gallon so you save three bucks after doing that. Meanwhile Gelsons is giving you five dollars right off the bat just for spending 25. The Gelsons in my neighborhood and Sherman Oaks the staff is amazing. Absolutely amazing. Although I wish they had more non-milk alternatives .. I do like all their selections, and the bakery in there is to die for to die for!! plus they have fresh yogurt right there in the store is so convenient to get your frozen yogurt without having to make another errand

Every time we go here (really any Gelson's it feels..), staff feels cold, unpleasant, and feels like they hate working there. Staff is diverse, but it's rare to find a consistent staff member who gives great customer service. It may not be Gelson's number one priority as far as training goes, not sure. This review is mostly for customer service and the $30 cake we purchased. For $30 (smallest cake we saw) I thought we would get a delectable, mouth-watering chocolate cake. See photo. The cake was mostly icing. It would have been ok, but the icing was not that good. The filipino market on Woodman in Panorama has better chocolate cake than this. I was sad we spent that much when there is also a local Ralph's that has chocolate cake that is to die for that is much less expensive than this one. The 3 stars is for cleanliness and the general feeling of shopping there. But c'mon, at least train staff to smile and ask customers "can I help you today?" Every time we see one, they see us back and dart away.

I stopped by Gelson's for some soup tonight. I put mostly broth as that is the way I enjoy it. The cashier charges me $13.74 for about 16 ounces of soup. I weighed the container of soup once I arrived home. Here is the receipt as well as my scale results. Shame on you Gelson's.

I have been a Gelsons almost 2x a week customer for years and years. It's convenient parking and most of the staff are friendly. BUT yesterday, I bought chocolate almond pudding, and after taking a couple of bites, I knew something was off with the texture. I looked at the expiration date - 7 days past expiration date! Around 2 months ago, I bought plant based pepperoni, which is usually good for around 20 to 30 days at other stores. One week after buying it, I was making pizza and saw that it had expired 2 days after purchasing. Also, they really need to speak with their Dave's Killer bread vendor. Yesterday, the bread I I purchased expired Sept 2, 4 days away. Each loaf of that type had the same expiration date. It tasted dry. Today, I went to Pavillions in Sherman Oaks, and the same exact bread expires Sept 10. Why is that? Each time manager apologizes and offers a refund, I usually forget to bring the items with me or use Instacart. I would not have probably posted this if I had not eaten expired food yesterday that was just purchased.

Martin and Rosemary are SOOOO BEYOND HELPFUL AND SO VERY KIND! I just love their personality and spirit! Why I will come back to shop here at Gelsons! Love the selection of food and how well kept the store is. Thank you guys! Jade

I have been going to this Gelson's for specialty items for years. They recently completed a remodel, and the store is clean, spacious and has many unique items that you can't get at your local Ralph's or Trader Joe's. Some of my favorites are: Deli Salads: many interesting and beautiful salads, including Jessica's Antioxidant Salad, several delicious kale salads, crudite salad, many more choices Salad Bar: best one around with interesting selections such as seared tofu, edamame, imitation crab salad, tabouleh, always fresh ingredients Poke Bar: delicious and fresh choices, have not seen this anywhere Produce: gorgeous Bakery: decorated and beautiful cakes, cookies and pastries Humphries Yogurt: a local favorite, now inside the store There is so much more. Full disclosure - prices are not cheap. But quality and selection are superior. It's a specialty store and that's how I use it. And they mail out $5 off coupons that never expire, so that helps!

Great high end market that offers pretty much everything you need or want. Yes, prices are up there but quality is all encompassing. There used to be a yogurt place in the general mall area called Humphrey's that got folded into the store. Nice move. Employees are helpful and attentive. Some of their salads and stuff in the front of house are just plain amazing. They also have a mean pastry selection in the coffee zone just off from the cake making area.

Gelson's has improved dramatically since a certain grocery genius took over. This location is beautiful and so well merchandised!! Amazing food and ambience plus they have free WiFi!! The layout is so much easier to navigate and they have stepped up their level of quality beyond any grocery store in Southern California. The only minor thing I would change is the music. Classical would be more soothing and less annoying. Everything else is SPOT ON excellent!!

Gelson's has a reputation that does not match its current operations. Although customer service overall remains a strong point, they are failing in several major areas including the bakery and the prepared hot foods. The last few times my family has purchased cakes from the bakery they were old/frozen and didn't taste good. We spent over $300 a few weeks ago on a variety of premade food including sliced turkey that was slimy by the time we got home, "cooked" Brussels sprouts that were just shy of raw, turkey meatloaf that tasted like pork sausahe accompanied by what were clearly instant mashed potatoes, and a salad that turned soggy within an hour. Gelson's was recently acquired by the company that owns Marukai markets, among other holdings. They clearly do t understand what made Gelson's special or don't care and are sacrificing quality for profit margins. Either way, we are so disappointed that we will be taking our business elsewhere from now on.

I had never been to Gelsons before and today was my first time shopping there for my nanny family. I was looking for the list of products I needed to grab on my phone when a man named Martin came up and noticed my confusion. He immediately offered his help and was so personable and kind. He showed me to where every item was and made sure I grabbed the exact items on the list. He was seriously such a breath of fresh air and just seemed happy doing his job. I can't say enough how much i could tell he was a genuinely nice person. I will now be shopping at Gelsons because of the amazing experience i had with Martin, he is awesome!

Another Gelsons with miserable staff. Brought back age sausage and sauce because the sauce was disgusting. Manager Jose tells me that he can't accept returns. I said you can't sell people bad meat and keep their money. So he tells me he'll make me an exception and goes on and on about what a favor he's doing me! Then as I'm walking away he pushes a carriage into my backside! Wow! I get to the register and there's confusion about my refund. They call Jose over and he announces so everyone around can hear that I used an EBT card. I just hate Gelsons.

This is for the gelsons carving station. I was standing here. No one around. Workers preparing salads behind the bar and sandwiches. I waited patiently. The guy behind the other hot bar then asked me if i needed help. I said yes, I'd like to get a couple of sandwiches. He said oh over there? I said yes. He said wait over there they'll help you. So i did. Another person said can i help you. I said again i wanted sandwiches. Then she shakes her head and says grab a number. Why didn't anyone tell me this before. Where are the signs??? There aren't any. I'm annoyed and go storm off to grab a number since i guess that's what happens. The manager then comes out and says well yea it's right there. Where. There's no where that says take a number. He tries to make me grab one and wait AGAIN. Which is ridiculous. Finally he grabs someone since he could tell I'm PISSED. She asks for my order in which i say i want the herb roasted turkey no cranberry. She looks at me like I'm crazy. And says we don't have that. I said you do it's on the menu. She continued to try to argue with me that she didn't have it. Until i showed her the sign and she starts laughing which i don't think it's funny at all. Maybe make signs....if someone says that they've been waiting and have been tossed back and forth help them. Don't make them more frustrated. Don't argue with me when I'm saying it's in the menu and lastly maybe have your employees LEARN THE MENU. Never coming back here again. Update as I'm checking out the worker who told me i needed a number went and helped other people without a number. THIS PLACE IS A JOKE. And i got home and the sandwich tasted like CRAP. Cold and the bread is too sweet. The turkey was DRY. The stuffing was a patty? The bread which i said whatever would be good was extremely sweet. And the gravy was the only ok part. THANK YOU GELSONS FOR SETTING THE MOOD TODAY. PISSED.
