My boyfriend and I stumbled upon Gelu’s mobile truck while walking through Montrose near Stages during an event—and wow, what a find! We each got a cup and were seriously impressed. The flavors are made with real fruit, perfectly refreshing, and not overly sweet. I had the mango with Tajín and a splash of chamoy (pictured in the review), and it was amazing. My boyfriend went with strawberry, and he was just as obsessed. We both loved it and can’t recommend it enough. Can’t wait to visit their permanent location soon for round two! Also the lady that helped us was really nice!

Tried it for the first time, got the Mango Madness, Strawberry Kiwi and Blue Bomb. Finished it and went back for seconds, then Tony (the owner) hooked me up with a free scoop! Definitely coming back!

Gelu has THEEEE best Italian ice. The manager was super kind. The Italian ice is light, flavorful and delicious. It’s like you’re eating sweet air. I kept going back to buy more because my family kept eating whatever I bought. Can’t go wrong with the very cherry flavor but I trust any flavor will satisfy your sweet craving. So if you are ever near Gelu, do yourself a favor and treat yourself to the best dessert to cool off in Houston!!! You won’t be disappointed.

Had a 10/10 experience loved it. The employee who helped me named Chloe she was so sweet and smiling the whole time. The place has such good vibes and the milkshake was amazing you should definitely go there!

Tony was absolutely wonderful and hooked us up with his gelato specialty and a yummy frappe !! Wish we lived here!!!

I went with my friend yesterday around 5p & there was this girl (staff) just waiting with all her stuff collected.( I’m assuming for the next person to come in) I understand it was her time to leave but at least communicate to us that we had to wait for the next person or something not just awkwardly starring away or greeting us. Quite some time has & passed she finally put her stuff down grunting saying I can take your order. All I wanted was a milkshake and she gave attitude saying we are only serving ice cream scoops. I politely decline and said oh nevermind then and walked away. But the more I thought about the interaction I just felt she could have at least spoken up first hand or say sorry I can only serve ice cream before finally attending us.

Had a great experience here the Italian ice was amazing and the employee who helped me her name was Chloe and she was a sweet heart and was so patient 10/10 experience.

Perfect to try on a hot sunny day and I really loved the tiger blood flavor.A young girl named Chloe if I remember correctly was very nice and had great customer service.Overall I would recommend.

The ice was very smooth and flavorful The very cherry had there weird flavor chunks that made it very very tart with a bad taste.

I wanted to write this because I am extremely disappointed in this pop-up. Not because of the quality of desserts, but what I have witnessed while being served. my first time being served, I waited 15 minutes for the kid's Italian ice scoop. the next time I had stopped by, I had asked to talk to the manager about a complaint of quality of service, yet when I was pointed in the manager's direction he was watching a game while drinking a beer on the job. I find this behavior unprofessional, and disrespectful to the employers. this type of behavior shouldn't go unnoticed, and could effect the quality of service given to the customers. I understand everybody has something going on in their life, and I am no one to judge, however this is not appropriate behavior while on shift. I hope this makes people reconsider going to this location, when there are plenty of other great Italian ice cream shops, and they are at a much better price range.

Put so many toppings! Tastes great and nice service!!! You can add so much candy! Good portion sizes but a bit expensive.

Oh my God I ate Tiger blood and loved it! The young lady let me try a few flavors. This was my fav out of the ones I tried. The color is very red and resembles blood. The flavor combination is genius.

Very ordinary Italian ice, 8 or so flavors. I tried the pineapple and lime. Not creamy, not like water ice, and not like NY street vendor Italian ice. And, pricey for frozen water and some flavoring. Just okay in my opinion. Server was nice and willingly allowed tastes of the requested flavors.

Okay I am completely obsessed with this place , it's Tigers Blood till the day I die. The green apple is a great mix as well. I first tried the truck version at the vegan vibes festival in the middle of the summer smh. Y'all were my saving grace and now I can't get enough. I literally pull up to post in downtown Houston, walk right past all the food and get what I came for lol.

The worst chocolate milkshake I have ever had. I spent $17 on it, I wouldn't have spent $5.

Gelato! But not really. It's a water based ice cream. I had the strawberry and mango. Which were great on a hot day but real gelato would've been better. No line. Service was quick. No add ons for me. They also have mangonadas!

Amazingly refreshing. We came to the POST for dessert and were not disappointed by Gelu Italian Ice. I had the watermelon with tajin. Wow!

This is a great spot within Post Market for a light, refreshing snack from friendly staff! The menu is pretty simple, but you can customize/build your own treat from their selection of Italian ices. I opted for the small, which is 3 scoops and I added on candy topping for the gram, obviously. The small is definitely shareable, and is priced right. Check these guys out next time you are at Post!!

I LOVE this place! A good amount of flavors but not too many where it's overwhelming! Prices are not too bad and there's candy options as well to add. Definitely a returning customer

POST Market is my favorite place to eat in all of Houston. A giant food court with NO chain restaurants? Perfection. Gelu is one of the many dessert places at the POST and it offers a new spin on a familiar conceit. Picture FroYo, Orange Leaf, Pinkberry, etc., but with Italian Ice instead of ice cream or frozen yogurt. Lots of flavors and fun combinations. Big recommend from us!

To be honest I get gelato here every single time I go to Post and it's just plain awesome. My personal favorite is definitely the mango but you can customize all different flavors, scoops, and toppings like candy, sprinkles, and Taquin/Chamoy. Would for sure recommend this gem for a quick dessert or cool down.

The Italian shaved ice is super refreshing on a hot summer day. They even set up a stand on the weekends!
