"An unlimited (for two hours, at least) smorgasboard of proteins awaits at this flashy California import. Choose from beef, pork, chicken, and seafood options like thinly sliced brisket and garlic marinated pork belly, and try not to fill up on the little bowls of banchan (kimchi, potato salad, and more) that circle the tabletop grill." - Amy McCarthy

Good drinks and selection of meats! The wine pork belly is my favorite but takes forever to cook. Service is okay, the wagu is good as well. The rib eye was impressive with the rosemary sprig. Overall, I would recommend!

I’ve been a loyal customer of this place for years, but today’s experience was beyond disappointing — it was the last straw. We arrived at 2:57 PM, and there was no host at the door. We stood there waiting for 5 full minutes before someone finally showed up. I asked if it was still lunch or had switched to dinner. The staff said after 3 PM it’s dinner pricing. I pointed out we had been waiting well before 3, but they clearly stalled on purpose to push us past the cutoff. They reluctantly gave us lunch pricing, but their attitude was awful. Then came the real letdown — they were out of everything. No brisket, no shrimp, no marinated beef. It was honestly embarrassing. Food came out painfully slow — just two rounds in over an hour. And the service? Nonexistent. No one checked on us, and it felt like we were being deliberately ignored. This is not the Gen I used to know. With so many other Korean BBQ options nearby offering better food and better service, there’s absolutely no reason to come back here. That wasn’t a meal — that was an insult.

Gen Korean BBQ provided an excellent dining experience from start to finish. From the moment we walked in, the staff was friendly and welcoming. Our waiter was exceptionally attentive, ensuring our drinks were always refilled and that we had everything we needed throughout the meal. The service was impressively quick, making the experience even more enjoyable. The food was absolutely delicious. The brisket was tender, flavorful, and cooked to perfection right at our table. The cheese katsu was a standout dish—crispy on the outside, with a perfectly melted, gooey cheese center. Every bite was satisfying, and the variety of side dishes complemented the meats wonderfully. The high-quality ingredients and generous portions made the meal even more worthwhile. Another great aspect of dining at Gen Korean BBQ is its convenient location. With plenty of shops nearby, it’s easy to make a whole outing out of your visit. Whether you’re in the mood to do some shopping before or after your meal, the area has plenty to offer. Overall, our experience at Gen Korean BBQ was fantastic. The combination of excellent food, fast and attentive service, and a convenient location makes this restaurant a must-visit. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a high-quality Korean BBQ experience!

Google
It was a good place but I expected a bit more for the price. I think they must provide some rice items in the buffet not just plain rice. They have too many meat based items. I would have loved to eat their fried rice for 30$ buffet, they said it’s extra. What kind of buffet does not have their signature dishes in them. Drinks were not free either. My point is for price point you could give something other than just meat. They have good fresh meat. Their sea food is good.

Amazing dinner menu selection. Ban Chan is ok with the basics. Waiter was overwhelmed and didn't check on us enough. Not his fault because he was moving as fast as he could. Managers need to do better selecting people to work.

Google
Bad service ! I have been coming here almost 8 years. I have not had any worst service like tonight. The lady that served us was very rude and mean. I do not know what we did to her but she was not even look at us while taking orders. Never came to ask what we need. We have to get out the table to find someone when needed. She was not even help us change the grill until we found someone to help. Some of the orders never came so we decided to check out because we do not want her to serve us anymore . I do not remember her name but she is the one who serve some of the tables on the left side of the front door. Bad experience ever!

I hate to put out bad reviews, but my experience at Gen KBBQ today was just frustrating and entirely disappointing. It’s Memorial Day, mood is up, ready to spend money, eat a bunch of food, and have fun. That didn’t happen though… Starting off, they’re charging dinner price despite it being lunch time because it was a holiday, which is fine and we were cool with, BUT that’s only if the service and such was even at 80% the standard. Originally ordering, most of the things we asked for on round 1 wasn’t brought to us. Of the 15 plates requested for a GROUP OF 5, we got 4. 4!!! It’s not like these plates are big or anything either, most people would be able to clear that in about 10 minutes just by theirselves. We finished that in about 3 mins after cooking it and was expecting for the rest of our order to come out. It never came. This lasted for another 30-40 mins before we had to bring it up to different servers. To make matters worse, through the first round and for the entire hour and a half, despite asking for another pair of scissors and another set of chopsticks because we were not given enough at the beginning, we were never given those things. What didn’t make sense was that the server even came back to ask if we wanted to order more. WE HAVEN’T EVEN GOTTEN WHAT WE ORIGINALLY REQUESTED FOR LET ALONE THE BASICS! But of course we went ahead and ordered more. After just sitting hungry for the next 30 minutes, running down our limited time (about 25 minutes left before our 2 hour limit now) we brought it up for someone who looked like they ran things and just left since now we’re hungry and paid for 4 plates which wasn’t even close to being worth it. Compared to other KBBQ spots like Omni or Bons, this was by far the slowest, least organized, and overall worst experience so far. I’ve had faster, smoother service on even more packed weekends elsewhere. In summary, wasted one and a half hours, wasted money, smelled like meat and food from the smoke in there, and left hungry into the rain outside. Almost completely forgot since the experience was so bad, but there was also an insect inside of my water just floating around. Should’ve just left then. Day ruined, do better.

I'm confused as to why this place is so popular. The beef Bulgogi was not marinated well and lacked flavor. The sides were sparse. The music was club-level loud and the service was bad. Waste of money.

Yelp
This place was absolutely great, we arrived on a busy Friday night and there was a line of people waiting so I assumed it would be good. We got seated fairly quickly and set up at our station with our sever arriving shortly after that super nice and friendly. The place was really big, blue lights on the tall sealing, gave it a really cool futuristic effect, the lights were dimmed but bright in the center of each cooking station. The menu had a LOT of options, and I even asked our waiter for some recommendations. Everything we ordered was absolutely delish. Several waiters came to our table to clean the pots and I was surprised how many times they we switch us the pans and stuff so it made me very happy because they kept it clean for us to continue using and the staff in general seemed to work very well in teams to make sure we were very well taken care of. They also had a huge drink menu with lots of fun things and even some non-alcoholic stuff which always is a win for me. I enjoyed the ambient, the food and staff, the prices were reasonable but honestly, even if it was pricey, it would be worth every penny. Will deff be adding this to one of my fav Korean BBQ places.

Yelp
Went here for lunch as I was craving pork bulgogi and it didn't disappoint. The meats were exceptionally well-marinated. Ofc the standout for me was the spicy pork bulgogi, which was perfectly seasoned and delicious. Also the second fav was fish katsu. Additionally, we tried the Hawaiian bacon, spicy pork riblets, kfc chicken, deep fried mandu. Overall, the quality of the food was top-notch. The sides were all delicious. The only thing I wouldn't try again was the Hotteok which is Korean sweet pancake, just personal preference. Also the drink I ordered was meh so maybe would order something else next time! It didn't satisfy my sweet tooth. But yea definitely will go again whenever I'm craving Korean BBQ!

Yelp
Overall, a good experience for Korean BBQ and would easily recommend. Ambiance is like any Korean BBQ place. Nothing too much to comment on here. It's not too loud to where you can't hear the others at your table, which is nice. Would recommend the premium option if you can. If you can't do premium, you will still easily enjoy the regular dinner menu (41 different items). My partner and I went on a Sunday night and it was decently crowded but we didn't wait for a table. Because of this, the service was probably slightly better than when it is more crowded. Our service, though, overall was good. We never had to wait an extensive amount of time for an order and items came to the table under 5 minutes. I was given wrong information on gluten with regard to the Banchan and unfortunately consumed gluten when I was allergic to it. Our server did eventually bring us an allergen menu, which was extremely helpful. If I was able to eat gluten, the experience would have easily been 5 stars but because of the allergy situation, it lacked.

Yelp
I've been coming to this location for the past 5 years. Something(s) about this last visit were a bit lackluster. The wait time to be sat was shorter than usual, but it was a Monday night. We were sat right next to BOH/servers area. Overall we felt rushed and they were ready to get you out not even an hour into dinner (2 hr limit for the table). Mind you, I've seen it when the place is packed and it was not. The server did make a meat recommendation that was great. They no longer print your check or let you review, they just show a tablet with the total. I had to ask for a physical receipt. The young man clearing tables approached our table in the middle of dinner to ask if we were done with meat still cooking on the grill. At the end when we were finally done, he cleared the table speedy fast, spilling sauce on my phone. I will probably not be back.

Yelp
You can't go wrong with AYCE Korean BBQ! The lunch menu is reasonable and for $19.99. That's a great price for a nice selection of meat such as brisket, steak, pork belly, chicken, etc. The service was great and wait time for the meats and all other items were reasonable. We love to get the soondobu and chap chae with the variety of meats. We always ask for the salad and extra side dishes. Overall, we are happy to find Gen in the area! Gen is located in the same shopping center as 99 Ranch Market, Kung Fu Tea, Daiso and Somisomi.

Samantha D.

Yelp
Pic of the booths and video of cooking the meat. Food is still great but they've gotten so popular that it's ALWAYS packed. Popular dinner times end up being 1-2 hour wait.

Lily T.

Yelp
We were craving Korean BBQ and had planned to go to Gyu Kaku or another location but picked this one because of the Somisomi next door. It's in a huge complex with tons of other asian staples like 85 degree bakery, 99 Ranch, Somisomi and other milk tea and bingsu places. We put our name down with the guy working the tablet out front and headed over to the supermarket to play some claw machine games and browse while waiting for a table. We were seated on time and our waiter Daniel was super attentive! Every time a plate was empty it was picked up immediately and he would always come and ask if we needed anything else. The food at this location is on par with other Gen locations but the service is much better than other places I've been! My new favorite meat is the beef bully and kalbi. The premium steak was fine but came a bit too frozen for our liking and lacked any seasoning. We only had beef this time around and left super full! The lychee soju carafe we got was great too and the sides were delicious as always. My only complaint is that they seated us near the employee entrance and exit and every time someone would open the door there would be a super cold draft. Overall it's very reasonably priced and it does get pretty loud in there so not the best place for conversations and you will leave super smoky smelling but that's just part of the experience!

Yelp
So we were in town for a meeting and my wife suggested this place. I must admit that I was a bit hesitant but agreed to go - I am very glad! So they have a single dinner price - it's sort of like an all-you-can-eat buffet, except that you order whatever you want from the menu and they bring it to your table. The appetizers came already prepared. The proteins that you order are brought to the table uncooked with onions. In the center of the table is a Korean bbq on which you cook your protein. There were many sauces that were brought to the table along with pickled cucumber, kimchi, Korean potato salad, pickled radish, and pickled onions. For appetizers we had two servings of deep fried Mandu - each serving has 6 pieces and they were very good, flavorful and prepared perfectly. We also tried a few pork riblets which were also wonderful - they were grilled in a honey bbq type glaze and were also great. Finally, we tried the Jap Chae which was also very good. There were about 6 other appetizers we could have tried that all looked great but we needed to save room for the main course. We started off with Beef Bulgogi and Spicy Pork Bulgogi. They were both full of flavor. I preferred the pork and my wife preferred the beef - but again, both were great! We also tried the Honey Soy Beef Belly which was quite tasty, especially when dipped in the honey type sauce (I don't know exactly what it was). Finally we tried the Chadol (Angus brisket sliced paper thin) which was good, but our least favorite of everything. There are 25 different proteins to choose from - have all of them or some of them! The rice was exactly like I prefer it - a bit sticky. Our server was wonderful. Since we had never been here, she explained how everything worked and made some recommendations - which were spot on. When a plate was empty it was whisked away. When a protein was cooked, the metal grill liner was immediately replaced with a clean one. Service was phenomenal. If there is one drawback, it's that because there is seating for probably 100 tables, it was fairly noisy - but they tell you that upfront, so I can't really complain. We will definitely come back when we're in town and are looking forward to the opening of the San Antonio location this year!

Yelp
You can't use money to buy 1-star comments. If you're really concerned about the service or food here, read the 1-star comments. Today is a beautiful day in June 2024, I came here to enjoy the food, then I met this young waiter, he used his hand to throw our plate of food on the table the first time ( very loudly), I was calm and understanding about their busy day. but after that, he threw more times, I didn't understand why he had a problem with us alone, even though we tried to laugh with a distorted face, I couldn't swallow food because those behavior . food with a sense of humiliation, when an Asian person behaves like that towards an Asian person. When I tried to record some video , he became more gentle. When I forgot to record, he continued to throw. Please, don't judge Asian people for giving small tip, I will happily tip here over $30 every time I go out to eat with a family of only 3 people. If you are a manager or restaurant owner, please take service seriously, and re-educate your young, healthy, and beautiful employees, because you are opening a restaurant that is not self-service. I really hope the service industry Restaurants of Asian brands will develop more. And if you are a customer, please, use your money for a polite dining environment, don't tip anyone so you can't eat happily and are disrespected.

Yelp
Super disappointing that Gen takes advantage of it's customers by raising lunch prices just because Wednesday is a "holiday" Juneteenth. So greedy, you would make more money by rewarding customers that come in rather than taking advantage of the extra customer count to boost sales for a quick gain. Success is a marathon, not a sprint. Return guests are the key to success, you just lost a few.

Tina B.

Yelp
I love this place. 2nd time here and if it was a lot closer to where I live, I would be eating here more often. We were here for Mother's Day weekend and although it was crowded, we were seated pretty quick. Great service and the vibes is cool with blue lights. Two negative things to say is that parking is really bad and you will smell like BBQ after eating until you shower.

Ebone' W.

Yelp
Stumbled on this place after going to another location that was charging an exorbitant fee for the all you can eat barbecue. It was a weekend, so the wait for a table of 2 was a little long, about 30 minutes or so, but once we were seated, we were immediately attended to. They have a good selection of meats, and kept the refills coming upon request! Our absolute favorite was the spicy pork bulgogi, but other items were solid too. I'm going to go back and take my family, and I can't wait.

Thuan N.

Yelp
The meat was too much fat and quality of the meat has gone down. It used to be to my favorite K-BBQ. Services was great

Verilynn H.

Yelp
Food is ok. The banchans were "meh." I've had better variety of food and banchan at other Korean BBQ restaurants. However, the service made up for the "ok" food. The ambiance is very modern which is an eye catcher for those who are walking by.

Mimi L.

Yelp
Gen is a weekly ritual for me. I've been to plenty of other AYCE KBBQ, but always end up going back to Gen. The price is unbeatable and they don't charge kids 4 and under. Just a heads up, there's always a wait on the weekend. So we usually go to the market or bakery in the same strip while waiting for our turn. Service here has never been bad. They're fast, efficient, and friendly. I have not met one bad server here. It does get a little hectic for them so if you need your grill change, just ask them. The ambiance is super modern. It does get pretty loud during rush hour, but it doesn't bother me. My favorite meat to get here is pork cheeks, intestines, galbi, and their beef belly. Pretty much the only reason why I keep on returning. Their intestines taste super clean. I wish they had egg soufflé and corn cheese. If they did, I'll be coming here twice a week then! The banchan is unlimited so don't feel shy to ask for more! If you haven't been, go! Food: 4/5 Service: 4/5 Ambiance: 5/5

Heidi M.

Yelp
Love this place. We have been making it our Sunday lunch tradition. Lots of fresh delicious side, meats and veggies all tasted fresh. Servers are outstanding. They have it down to a science. Galbi beef ribs, GEN steak and pork belly are a few of our favorites. Make sure to ask for radish wraps and their salad (lettuce with dressing). They also have spicy and sweet dipping sauces.

Rafael R.

Yelp
Compared to the Gen's in AZ, Texas has ALOT more options for meat! I ended up paying for the premium ($50), but was able to get quality meats and even pitchers of beer + assorted alcohol drinks. I wish AZ had this same approach for Gen, it would do even more well out there.. Stayed for the usual 2 hours and got my money's worth. If you are in the area, I HIGHLY recommend coming to this location!

Mayela M.

Yelp
This places is amazing, if you know how to grill this si even better! They have all different kinds of food and options for everyone. 10/10

Fred T.

Yelp
Keila is THE BEST server hands down. She never fails when it comes to customer service and having a great attitude.I will ALWAYS request to be in her section. Also, met Tin who I recognized from another restaurant and he was kind as well. He was very welcoming and informative about the business in his short time there. Customer service is high on the list for me Revisiting a place & they never fail. Then the meat is unmatched. It's always fresh. I enjoy visiting during my the day bc the wait at night or the weekend can easily be an hour and I totally understand why.

Michelle C.

Yelp
Overall rating a 4.5/5. I haven't been to GEN in years ever since all the other kbbq places opened in the area. I used to work here back in 2017, but never once really came back after leaving. GEN is not one of my go to's, but I decided to go here because it was my friend's birthday and he has never had kbbq before. I feel like GEN is a great place to start for someone who usually does not eat Asian foods. Food (4/5): We've tried almost everything on the menu. There were a lot of new things on the menu that I have never seen before. Every thing was good, but some things were never delivered which is fine because in the end, we ended up still getting full. All the meats I ordered were good, but nothing too crazy-Galbi is still great as I remembered. Just meets the minimum standards. Service (5/5): Our server was Cindy, she was so sweet and helpful. Very direct and on top of it. I'm glad she was our server because many servers at AYCE places aren't usually that great. She never once got overwhelmed and provided excellent and upkept service. She provided us lots of foods and cute a birthday chant as well as dessert for my friend. If I were ever to go back, I would love to have her take care of us again as she radiates good and positive vibes. Ambiance (3.9/5): It's a cool, hip, night club vibe KBBQ place. Very loud and casual vibes. The thing I'm not really fond of is that the tables are very close to each other and both parties next to us had a difficult time getting in and out as well as the grill vent, it has never really worked that well and still doesn't, but it's okay. Just remember, your clothes will smell. Thank you Cindy! Your service was so great that it made me forget all the bad memories I previously had with GEN.

Noah C.

Yelp
Awesome food and service, the meats came out fast despite the long line and amount of people inside. Meat was fresh and grill was changed very often. Ralph was a great host and made sure we were all very comfortable.

Katie H.

Yelp
This was our first time experiencing Korean BBQ. We felt very underwhelmed in taste and overwhelmed with the ordering process. Our server didn't help us much in explaining how the process worked or provide tips for cooking, given they knew that it was our first time. It seemed like maybe our grill was not getting hot enough, because everything took insanely long to cook. The pricing felt a bit steep for what it was. The food was okay, but not out of the world amazing. Due to poor service and mediocre food, we likely won't come back. But the restaurant is clean, and if you're well-versed in Korean BBQ you may have a better experience.

Lynn D.

Yelp
Food here is good & menu is extensive with meat selection & sides! Every time I've come the service is quick & attentive I have no complaints. I don't like coming here because it's always extremely packed & hard to have conversations with people at your table because it's so loud. Wait times are always at least 1 hour or more that's how packed it gets. Definitely recommend coming here for lunch but avoid dinner unless you arrive really early.

June L.

Yelp
Quality of food and service was on par with the price. We went for an early dinner with 2 young kids with a friend who was visiting from out of town. The inside is darker without it being hard to see. The vents are working hard so you don't smell TOO bad of meat when you step out. We love ordering their jjigaes and the servers come often to change the grill pans as well.

Kevin R.

Yelp
Love coming here. You get your bang for your buck for sure. This place gets crazy busy so I definitely suggest getting reservations. The meat is a good quality, I only wish the pork belly was thinner. It's a super thick slice. Staff was good about changing out our cooking surface (it'll start to burn and char if you order a meat that is marinated in a sauce). We ordered multiple rounds of food and it made it to our table very quickly. The service has definitely improved since the first time I came here. The grilled meat aroma of this place is fantastic. It's very fancy looking and well kept. The lighting is pretty dim, so it's fairly dark inside. Makes a good environment for multiple occasions, including dates.

Conner R.

Yelp
Good service usually! Had a grumpy dude as a server the other day but every single other visit great food and great atmosphere.

Vu L.

Yelp
Food is getting worse. Service is bad. Selection is small. King Chinese Buffet is $18 with crabs and shrimp with better service. We were not even offered to refill water the entire time. Waiter keeps disappearing. Didn't see him for 30 minutes. He came back to ask us if we're ready for a check. Unbelievable.

Lisa C.

Yelp
One of the best all your can eat BBQ. The unlimited selection of food included is phenomenal. The service is very good. I probably would say my favorite is the Kalbi. I would go primarily for this with a bunch of starters. Value is excellent, location is good and the ambiance is just fine.

KayLee W.

Yelp
My favorite Korean BBQ! Simply the best. I love to get soju or a cocktail and dive in. The Mandu is delightful and I've enjoyed every meat I've tried.

Assylzhan Y.

Yelp
My visit to Gen Korean BBQ House was an absolute delight! The all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ experience offered a wide array of delectable options, but the star of the show was undoubtedly the Galbi - tender, flavorful, and simply the best. The succulence of the meat and the overall grilling experience surpassed expectations. Additionally, the Japjae was a delightful surprise, adding another layer of deliciousness to the feast. Gen Korean BBQ House is a must-visit for anyone craving an exceptional Korean BBQ adventure.

Kenny I.

Yelp
This restaurant coming in seems quite popular considering how packed it was, but it was worth the wait. The place us very moderistic and the food was nice and crisp. Everything was fresh and there was a nice variety of dishes to choose from, all of which were delicious. I would definitely recomend this place to anyone looking for some fresh korean cuisine.

Alisi V.

Yelp
Love Gens! Great food too far tho wish they had a closer one........................................ I've only been once

Yelp
We came here for a birthday dinner. We were promptly greeted and seated right away for a party of 3. Our server was friendly and efficient in taking our order. From what was ordered the standouts were the beef bulgogi, chadol, thinly sliced pork belly, cheese katsu, jap chae and hotteok. Tip: don't eat all the rice so you don't get full so fast! We order salad and wrap our meats or rice paper. There were a couple timing issues in getting our orders then we received things we didn't even order. Overall, KBBQ is always a great time with friends and service was friendly.

Temina C.

Yelp
All you can eat Korean BBQ and banchan!! You get 2 hours at a flat rate. Alcoholic drinks are an additional charge but it's such a great experience here. As soon as you're seated, a server comes and gets your meal and drink order and the food starts coming! There are hot dishes on the menu if you don't want to grill. From the outside you wouldn't expect the restaurant to be as massive as it is. The restaurant is very modern with cool tones. I highly recommend you don't come on the weekends it's way too busy but it's great for family and friends gathering!

Karen L.

Yelp
Good selection for the price but sides were small and grill did not heat well. The meat did not cook well because the fire was not strong enough. Ive been to many kbbqs and this one definitely has a huge selection of meat options for sure. The unique ones we liked were the large intestine, the shrimp and short ribs. The chadol was not good quality and with pork belly jt was difficult to get a nice sear with the grill. I would recommend as a local spot but not my favorite.

Linda S.

Yelp
Appointment: this place needs appointment. We went around 4:30pm on a Sunday and scanned their waitlist QR code and it shows how many groups of people are ahead of us. The wait time for us was about 30 mins. We were seated immediately after we show our turn is up. Services: The services were great. The waitress made sure that we always have food. Time limit: 2 hours. When it is about time, I received a survey on text message. Food: kimchi is more salty and spicy than I expected. The sweet mashed potato tastes great. The only con is that it does not have much vegetables. We ordered a plate of vegetables, it comes with zucchini, red and green peppers but it does not have lettuces.

Breana C.

Yelp
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME!!!!! We should have left as soon as we walked in. The issues began with the hostess. And only got worse. 1) Hostess attempted to seat us at a dirty table covered with dirty dishes. We demanded a cleaned table. 2) Volume of music is excessive and eliminates all possible conversation at the table without yelling. 3) Service was slow and didn't improve. 4) We ordered our food. The meat was rank, tough, and tasted disgusting! Banchan was horrible!! 5) They didn't have any rice. (How can an Asian restaurant run out of rice?!?!? SERIOUSLY!!!) We left the food and will never return!!!

Amanda S.

Yelp
Damaris is RUDE. This isn't an exaggeration by any means. She treated our group disgustingly. And she honestly needs to be fired.. From the second we got there, she was short, didn't explain anything, and had a temper anytime we couldnt hear her. Rolling her eyes. We ordered soju and in the first 20 minutes of us sitting there, no altercation, she goes "Can you make room??!!!!!" With an attitude. We go "oh sorry". And we proceed to make the room that was already there. My group and I are all servers, and are always very polite when we go out, and tipped well regardless of her attitude. But she was barking and yelling at us the entire time. Telling us to "HOLD ON!!!!!!!!!!" when we asked if we could order. Sorry, but I don't think us trying to flag you down while we waited 30 minutes for sauce and had to ask again means you get to yell at us. Dripping oil all over the table when changing the grates, oil into our drinks. Spilled water all over my boyfriends food when he was eating. Literally saw the water spilling on my boyfriend, stopped, and then proceeded to dump even more water on PURPOSE. Yup ON PURPOSE!!! Ice and water on the table, my boyfriend, and all over his plate. It was CRAZY. we still said "please" and "thank you", stacked our plates after getting yelled at and water spilled all over the table. Why were we giving her good service lolol Only reason we didn't call for a manager is because we didn't want to cause a scene.

Yelp
I love that Gen's always has the same quality of food no matter whether I'm in DFW, Vegas, California, etc and this place is no difference. Pricing now here is $30.99 per person for dinner which is around the average pricing for KBBQ now it seems. Besides the food, this place is always harder to visit because of the traffic this location drums up. If you were to visit on a weekend, you should expect to wait 30mins + for a table. Fortunately this plaza is full of stuff to do. Because of the traffic, I never get the service as good as their Frisco location. The tables, seats, and checks all feel extra oily and I can't get comfortable here. Because of how rushed the servers are, we always have larger gaps between orders and forgotten orders. The servers and bus boys starting packing the tables prior to me leaving the table and they were really rough with the plates and the grill, splattering some on the table. I have no complaints on the food. My favorite definitely was their beef belly. I would pass on the calamari steak. Come for the food as long as you can stand the service and wait.

Yelp
Service is way too slow , when I mean slow it took 10 minutes to receive our first round of food . After that we ordered another round and it was another 10 minutes waiting. By then we were done and ready to go , I asked for the check and it took another 10 minutes for it to, then when he finally took the check we waited an additional 10 minutes for him to come back with the receipt , btw this is my second time here and first time was just as slow, it wasn't even that busy !!

Yelp
Came here for a group birthday dinner and heard this place was pretty decent for Korean bbq. We had a reservation, but still had to end up waiting for a while longer. With all you can eat kbbq we definitely ordered a lot and stuffed our stomachs. Like any kbbq there is Plenty of meat choices to choose from. Unfortunately, I did have stomach problems after eating here, which wasn't good. Service was okay, it was hard trying to reach our server to refill our drinks. Place was packed on a Saturday night.

Yelp
Finally made it out here. Dinner is $30 for 2 hour limit. The wait is always LONG on the weekends from all the people standing outside. On a early weeknight (6 ish) there was no wait but it started to get busy. Not a huge Korean bbq person but it was good to me. We tried a decent amount on the menu but some things we didn't even attempt to order like the bacon and some pork dishes. First time having pork bulgogi though. I like the beef better. Some of the steak cuts took a long time to cook since it was thick. The brisket was very thin and almost shredded. We probably ordered the galbi the most. The best thing was probably the hotteok, korean sweet pancake dessert that I had for the first time. Save room to try it! Note that it has nuts. I was curious to know what veggies were included in the appetizers since that wasn't clear. The popcorn chicken was ok.. i probably would skip it. wish i had more room to try the jap chae. They were pretty attentive about coming back and taking our order and changing out the grills. Would come back again but don't think it's worth waiting in those long weekend lines!!

Yelp
Gen all you can eat is $29.99 per person on the weekends. That is such a good deal with all the delicious options. It comes with unlimited sides like salad, kimchi, etc. You can also get starters that is included with the AYCE. Don't forget to ask for the soy bean dipping sauce. They have alcohol, soda beverages, and corn tea. We went right at 11:am when it opened today (Sunday), and there was a line already. We were seated within a few minutes. Sides were already on the table ready for you. The hostess did ask us to download the app for the menu which is in front of the hostess stand or you can ask for a menu. You get to choose up to 6 meat options at once. Our server was fast and attentive. He came to change our grill twice to make sure we had a clean grill to cook with. The meats were top notch. So fresh and marinated nicely. It is chilly inside, so bring a jacket. They also play top 40 hit songs. Gen is our go to every time we are in town.

Yelp
Not good quality meat. The atmosphere feels chaotic. The service is average at best. Not a place I would come unless my friends wants to eat here

Yelp
This is how much food they give you at a time. Horrible. The service is so slow. Worst AYCE Korean bbq place in Dallas. And we were the only Korean people in a Korean BBQ restaurant. That's a red flag. Go to Omi or manna. This place deserves zero stars.

Yelp
I have come here many times and not once was charged an extra 5.00 per appetizer. As I was ordering 4 of them while waiting for a table the barkeep kindly told me there would be this fee for each appetizer. I likely will never be back. When you are waiting 45 min for a table and your party is drinking, you should not be up charged for food. The food is good and servers very nice, but I will no longer drive 35 plus minutes to eat here.

Yelp
My daughter and I who's 3 1/2 love coming here for lunch and enjoy the lunch prices at that! Service is always fast and sufficient! I appreciate how often they change the grill so it doesn't get so smoky !

Yelp
The food was good, and the service in this recent experience wasn't great but still enjoyable. The ambience is pretty loud, but not much you can do. It's a popular and good place that definitely won't disappoint if you're thinking of going.

Yelp
This place was a must do experience! After a spa day, we stopped here. The drinks were amazing! The food was great. Order the marinated items.... They are much better then the plain steak and chicken items. Go hungry. The only option is the all you can eat

Yelp
What a fantastic way to spend an evening out to dinner with friends or family! Good for all ages! The lighting catches your eye as you enter the restaurant with its blue/ purple neon hues throughout. The booths are large and fit 8 easily, while they can push tables together for a larger group. Our waitress was helpful and gave us her favorites in the menu, which happened to be the exact same as a friend of mine had suggested , so we went with that. We had the beef short ribs the beef bulgogi, also the honey chicken and the shrimp. Everything was good, but I would pass on the shrimp next time. It comes with several small sides. My favorite was the Kimchi and of course the sticky rice. All of wich are all you can eat. I can't wait to go back and take my daughters or go with friends! Either way... I will be back soon!
