"This tasteful restaurant in the appealing hotel of the same name promises a modern, elegant decor and a pleasantly quiet, almost intimate atmosphere, as well as attentive and proficient service, and – last but not least – really good cuisine based on selected ingredients. Quality and craftsmanship are evident in dishes such as the dumplings and caviar from wild-caught pike with lime and chives or theRahmbeuscherlmade with Mühlviertel milk-fed veal lights, served withServiettenknödel(bread dumplings) and fresh marjoram." - Michelin Inspector

We chose this hotel to celebrate our first wedding anniversary, and everything was absolutely perfect from the moment we arrived until the day we left. The staff was incredibly friendly, the environment spotless, and the decor was tasteful and romantic, perfect for a couple’s getaway. The spa was excellent, and the food… wow! It was by far the best dining experience we’ve ever had at a hotel. Breakfast offered a wide variety of delicious options, and dinner was prepared by Chef Thomas Hofer, whose dishes were simply exceptional. I even enjoyed foods I normally don’t eat, that’s how amazing his cooking is! The only thing we would have wished for was air conditioning in the room. It was quite hot during the last weekend of June, so we had to leave the windows open at night. Unfortunately, that let in some bugs that disturbed our sleep. Still, that didn’t take away from the overall incredible experience. We’re already looking forward to coming back. Highly recommended!

This romantic getaway is off the beaten path for US travelers but well worth the time and effort to get here. With breakfast and dinner from an exceptional chef and staff, the culinary experience is superb. Service is very attentive, and the support for couples looking for romantic time is enhanced by the natural beauty of the location, the quality and cleanliness of the rooms and the opportunity for private spa time.

More than an hour's drive from a train station, this is certainly off the beaten path, so much so that it's within walking distance of the Austrian-Czech border (unguarded). The service is friendly and very attentive, and the entire experience is redolent of "romance" as if misted daily with heavy doses of some (metaphorical, of course) kind of perfume. The relaxation areas outdoors are a bit crowded and "we" chose not to spend much time in the pool with nude strangers, especially the unshowered ones. Hiking through the nearby forest was more of a pleasure. The kitchen is a bit over the top, as if every meal is competing for some eccentric cooking show award. No choices of any interest were offered for vegetarian or vegan cuisine, since beef, veal, pork and venison were the typical main courses, daily, during a five-day stay. All-inclusive for breakfast and an early supper is misleading since anything from the bar, from a glass of wine to a bottle to a cocktail is an extra tariff. It's a well-kept, kitschy novelty for a night or two, but no more in our opinion. It promises "romance," but needs to learn that that can't be canned or programmed.

The romantic theme is a little "over the top" but if you stay a maximum iof 2 nights with your partner you will be able to enjoy this. Great wellness area, very clean. Also the food is very good! Not suitable for groups or people with children.

Best romantic hotel ever 😍, I have to confess that I cannot help myself comparing them with other romantic hotels we have been and Bergergut is just the best, starting with thematic rooms, only adults, great service, excellent food and drinks. It’s a place to really disconnect, relax and enjoy quality time with your partner. Highly recommended, we have been there couple of times and looking forward for our next visit in October 🥳

If you are looking for a REALLY romantic holiday, this is the right place. Everything is perfect here. You will be welcomed like a king and you will dine divinely.||||It's not cheap, but it is worth EVERY penny! It's not something that most people can do too often, but if you can do it, you really should!||||The rooms are fantastic, absolutely 5 star. The service is perfect and you can escape into a whole new world....||||Yes, it is a beautiful hotel in a very beautiful area and yes, the food is exquisite. The critiques all confirm what a great place this is. But it's time to be honest, there is MUCH more! This hotel is so much more than just a place for wellness and good food. You can get that in a lot of places, so why come here? ||||This place is special. It is a resort that offers tons of extras that you can book, all kind of erotic and sensual delights. You can become a "living desert" or you can enjoy a private spa... there are LOTS of very intimate choices. It's a couples place and true sensual delight, a place for you and your love to enjoy each other and to get even closer. ||||Our days here were a true romantic adventure. It's a beautiful and special place.

The "Devil's cave" is definitely worth a visit. Its rustic charm, the beautiful whirl-pool in the middle of the room, the chains and the walk-in shower is bound to get a little bit of a naughty "devil" out in you. ||On top of that, the delicious food, beautiful spa area and the extremely friendly staff made our stay unforgettable.

It is supposed to be a romantic place for all kind of couples in love and it seems that it is a successful sales promotion.||The hotel is indeed a very nice place in a beautiful abandoned area in upper Austria and probably the 5 stars might be well deserved for many aspects but according to our experience with other hotels in this category we rather rate this time with 3 points. Simply because 5 stars does not allow any compromises.||But let´s go point by point :||TOP Friendliness: all people are very friendly and helpful||FLOP Service : unfortunately majority of people working in service are not competent and confident enough for a 5 star hotel, on the contrary it feels like this people just started to work in service||TOP Room: we had a very nice Love Suite, very spacious with excellent quality furniture||OK Spa Area: nice Sauna chambers but the rest area is too crowded with beds, hardly possible to access your bed in the back. Indoor pool is about to fall apart, needs urgently a new painting. Outdoor Pool is equipped with a countercurrent system, perfect for swimming on small space||TOP Restaurant: we got every evening a 5 course love dinner and every single dish was delicious , simply a place to be recommended for eating||FLOP Decoration: it is absolutely TOO much, although it is a question of taste of course and each and every single element is nice but this collection of Kitsch in every corner is overwhelming and at least for us not very much romantic at all||FLOP Cleanliness: again, a 5 star hotel standard in Austria requires a perfect set up , meaning the dust in the room is never ok, dirty tables and used ashtrays in front of the entrance is never ok, quite dirty fabric on the benches in the restaurant is not ok
