"Nothing could make more sense here in the picturesque Weissensee Nature Park than to align the kitchen philosophy with the natural surroundings – the name of the set menu "BERG.SEE.KÜCHE." ("MOUNTAIN.LAKE.FOOD.") doesn't give away too much. In six courses – plus extras – patron Hannes Müller brings his own signature to creations such as "rhubarb, mountain brook trout, carrot, yarrow, sunflower seeds" or "red cabbage, venison, celery, miso". Light, fresh dishes, flavoured with herbs from the immediate vicinity or fermented foods from the previous season. When it comes to the quality of the ingredients, the restaurant relies on personal links with producers, eg sourcing Krainer Steinschaf mutton from the family's own farm – Zöhrer-Bauernhof. The wine list is centred on Austria, but also includes natural and orange wines. Cordial hostess and sommelier Monika Müller's commitment is palpable. The view from the modern restaurant across the meadows to the lake is fantastic. Stylish and elegant accommodation is available in the hotel of the same name." - Michelin Inspector

Die Forelle is not only a place where you are able to clear one's mind - from the beginning (arrival) this whole elegant designed concept puts you on a little (vacation) journey on its own. The service team - one of the best we have ever experienced- takes care of every wish with a polite, professional and personable way you just know out of the books. The kitchen - just harmonious. The concept of a suntainable way to create and rethink a dish, with sunstainable grown products (from the area or near by) is just inspiring. Die Forelle is one of a kind "Geniesserhotel". Not only worth a try - its a must at mountain lake Weissensee.

Wonderful welcoming hotel, small but nicely presented rooms with a view over a frozen lake & hills in a nice location. Friendly staff, fantastic food (part of the slow food hotels). Small but well organised spa. Visited end of February for one night with my wife and a friend.

It was a dream vacation! Loved everything and would be happy to experience all for seasons with the amazing Müller family. Everything was ideal, from seasonal food, sauna with Aufguss and dive in the frozen lake, till design, hospitality and warm ambience!

We were in the restaurant and really enjoy the experience. The location is top and everything is built inside with a lot of taste. The service is also very profesional. We took the 6 dishes Menu. It includes several add ons from the Kitchen at the beginning and the end which were very good. In general all the dishes were very good but there were a couple that were not maintaining the level. Specially the ones with fish, where they were killing the fish taste with other sauces and flavours. I didn’t not find the dessert so good also. That’s why I don’t give the five, as the price is quite expensive. But I would recommend it and probably go again.

Visited here for some relaxing and fishing, a break from the life in Monte Carlo. What a great choice this was. The facilities and the staff are top notch, the food exceptional. We stayed 4 days and everything was simply wonderful. The scenery, beyond belief. If you want to "live" the feeling of the movie, The Sound of Music, this is your place!

I came for the skating by myself in early February. I chose the hotel because of its location on the lake and good reviews. It was my 3rd time to Weissensee. My first time at this hotel. Everything about the hotel was wonderful. The hospitality, the amazing and healthy food, the location on the lake, the bright sunny rooms. I am an American living in Italy. We are 4 weeks into our lock down and given the unsettled state of the world right now I am so happy I made my impromptu solo trip to discover this hotel (that I hope to return to many times) and to skate the day away.....

Wonderful place right at Weissensee lake. Friendly family atmosphere guarantees relaxed stay over. Restaurant is highly recommended with Michelin style dishes produced with local sourced ingredients.
