Set in a lovely village this hotel blew me away. The rooms were nice and clean. All had a theme. I stayed in the spice room. The staff were very friendly and very welcoming. The hallways were a bit dated, but that was fine. But you must eat here! No place to hang out and have a drink really, but the dinner was amazing. All locally sourced and inspired. I had the 6 course meal for 50 euros and it was excellent. Our group of 9 was well looked after and we were joined by the owner towards the end of our meal. Breakfast was very good also. Highly recommend if you want a great hotel that’s not the same as everywhere else. Definitely going back one day.

Best 3 course menu we've been serves in quite some time! Local delicious autenthic german dishes very well priced! Just be carefull for the wines, as My 2 glasses were 8,40 euro each. Recommend!

When we walked in there was no staff in sight. We sat down at one of the many empty tables. When the lady of the house walked in she looked at us as if we were out of our mind. How dare we walked in her restaurant. No smile and no excuse or advise where we could alternatively.

One of the best steaks i ever had,the cafe de paris butter a dream,the french fish soup,to die for,the kabeljau with wasabi mashed potato and flight in helgolaender petit shrimps,a must have,however the breakfast much better than our hotel in cologne,facit,the place to be,Geniesser gasthaus, Rurberg,a reservation is a must!

Am vergangenen Wochenende durften wir am Sonntag einen wunderbaren Abend im Geniesserwirtshaus mit unseren Freunden verbringen. Der Abend startete mit einem Empfang in der neu und sehr attraktiv gestalteten Scheune - ein großes Kompliment für die geschmackvolle Einrichtung. Hier haben wir uns bei einem leckeren Aperitif wirklich sehr wohl gefühlt und konnten gleichzeitig auch Kontakt zu den anderen Gästen des Abends aufnehmen. Anschließend ging es gemeinsam in die Restaurant-Räume. Dort haben wir ein wahres Geschmackserlebnis genießen dürfen - eine Speise leckerer, als die nächste. Vielen Dank für diesen tollen Abend.
