Oh wow what a fun, delicious place! Went for first time for my birthday instead of other restaurant and was pretty glad I did. I'm sure I would have had a fabulous time if it weren't for our chef who, oddly, was the only human working not showing his face. I've always had a hard time talking to people with their hands over their mouths ESPECIALLY when other things are going on. However, I was not rude to him at all. Yet somehow I upset him by saying I couldn't understand him in the mask. It really threw me for a loop and I had forgotten what I ordered. He ran off not to be seen for well over 5 minutes. I felt bad for the rest of the table because he didn't double check with them on what they ordered and sure enough, messed up another person's order.
I really wish this place was 100% face friendly however, I do understand not telling people how to live their lives. But I'm telling you, if it wasn't for that, I'm sure our whole table would have had a much better time. Because he wasn't showing his face, probably because he couldn't breathe, he also didn't talk to us. Husband noticed all the other tables had the chef talking to the crowd and entertaining them. Also, our chef screwed up on the two "exciting" things he did. It wasn't too upsetting other than it was my daughter's first time at a restaurant like this and I was hoping she'd get more of the *show* and excitement. But instead, she hated it. (Not entirely their fault. She had a long day at school and was tired...) I'm sure she could have had at least one smile if we had a chef who was entertaining and, also, would have been helpful to know what she could or couldn't have. She's allergic to gluten (which we told them) and had a reaction to the meat which I'm curious if it had a gluten sauce so she literally only got to eat rice.
Anyway, long story to say we still enjoyed. We loved the American flags, katana sword, other decorations, and atmosphere. We liked the rest of the staff including our waitress, Cassie.
