Google
A cool neighborhood bar that serves some good fried chicken and wings. The interior is clean and there are plenty of tvs with sports playing in the background. We ordered some wings, fried chicken, and a grilled cheese and tomato soup to eat. The person taking our order at the bar was pretty nice and patient while we figured out what we wanted. The grilled cheese and tomato soup was pretty simple. The wings were good and the fried chicken had a good crunchy exterior, but nice and moist inside. I do want to come here next time for happy hour.

16$ for a puck. 2 stars for the proper beer pour and safe space vibes for POC. 25$ + tip = 30 😞

My first time here. Came with a friend for "a" beer. Had a couple tasty IPA' s. Checked out the patio area...very groovy and cozy....didn't order food so they get 5 stars.. loll. Cool place overall. Pretty big, pretty old. Looks like a fairly good selection of beer and wine. Some video poker i see (About 6 machines i think. I don't play).

Onion rings are best to me. Crews are kind and friendly. Facility looks like a local pub and a vintage. Fun to watch the NFL game with people.

Google
Fantastic dive bar. So many dives in Portland feel very manufactured these days. George's Corner feels authentic with a modest tap list but extensive bottles, cans and liquor, and a great menu. The bacon bleu burger was excellent and the fries were perfect.

Google
This place has been through a lot of changes over the years, it used to be a lot divier which was honestly kind of part of its charm but got a reno a couple years ago and they’re going for more of a sports bar vibe these days which is kind of nice but honestly I kind of miss the slightly sketchier feel of Old Georges 😂 Consistently though, they have had through all their phases a really killer burger (one of the best in town IMO) and crispy fries, good ranch, good BBQ sauce. Sooooo many places have disappointingly soggy fries and this is not one of them. Really solid bar food. Always. Crispy. Fries. Consistently delicious. Also right off the max line and plenty of parking in the lot next door. The impossible burger is a little pricey at $17 but does come with a side

Google
If you're looking for a comfortable, unpretentious bar in PDX, George's Corner is it. This place embodies that 'come as you are' vibe, making it a perfect spot to unwind. Its location on the Max Yellow line is incredibly convenient. But the real star is the fried chicken - crispy, flavorful, and undeniably the best homestyle version I've had in the city. A must-try! Adding to the charm is their giant patio, a fantastic space equipped with multiple TVs, making it an ideal spot to catch a game and enjoy the PDX weather.

Here for the weekend, visiting bestie Britt.. an she brought me here for my birthday dinner!! AMAZING ONION RINGS. Amazing tacos..the portion size was exceptional. The service was fabulous, sweetest servers. Wonderful big screen experience just love it!!! Love Love love the vibe so cool!!!!!!!!!

Yelp
A Killingsworth institution, seems like a casual, typical neighborhood tavern. But don't let that fool you. The Burgers are easily among the best in Portland. The plain hamburger is excellent. The bacon bluecheese burger is superb. The fries are some of the best. The tomato bisque was excellent. If you want a great burger, try George's.

Yelp
The bartender asked if she could help me. I asked for another round. She said "I can't serve you no more". Fair, But why did she ask? I'm calculating my way home. This place is a conundrum. Again, I'm going home.

Nakeva J.

Yelp
The bartender with the beard who has alit of tattoo's needs to practice cleanliness. He doesn't wash his hands enough after touching himself meaning pulling his pants up touching his skin and Scratching himself then makes a drink and touches the rim that is not sanitary at all..

Yelp
One of the best places to catch a game and enjoy the comraderie or rivalry. Good drinks served by friendly bartenders, with one of the best fried chicken in town. Seahawks, Blazers, Timbers and all the games are on, even the 9ers.
google avatar

Yelp
New management has taken this local dive bar out of the dumps! Amazing chicken basket, new patio and the staff was friendly. You never know who will walk in the door since it's right off the lightrail stop. I enjoyed watching a Timber's game there since they have lots of TV's, even outside. Don't miss this classic PDX spot that now has a new LOOK!

Liza S.

Yelp
This is one of the worst bars I've ever been to. Awful customers to start, creepy old men sending kissy faces and winks every time you turn your head. Their well tequila was the worst I've ever had. Jalapeño poppers were disgusting. $16.50 later and wishing we had never stepped foot Into this establishment. Bartender was nice and had a cool shirt, but everything else was far below par. 0/10. Would never return.
google avatar

Yelp
George's just does not care about CUSTOMER SERVICE! Why spend your money there when there is five (5) more close by that does? Just get on the train anything is better.

Yelp
Well sitting for my 96 year old mother has been an adventure, but Lordy how much fried chicken can one little old sweetheart eat? I drove from 82nd and Fremont to George's, I was greater by a overly kind and attentive bartender, who graciously placed my order... Arriving home I found her passed out in her chair, but once I put those chicken wings and Jojo's in front of her she sprang awake instantly... I will return...

Yelp
My knowledge of George's is that of a good dive bar, the best fried chicken in town (with Reel M Inn a close second) and really good burgers. I think that sums it up. After a nice seven mile bike ride up to Arbor Lodge, it was the place we wanted to stop for a beer or two and some good grub. It was a busy night at the bar because the Western Conference Finals were on and there seemed to be many OKC fans there to watch them beat the Warriors for game one. That wasn't expected when we walked in, and being that a sign at the bar states that fried chicken could take over an hour if the place was busy, fried chicken was not to be had on my first visit here. Oh well.... Burgers however, were a great choice. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger special with fries and my buddy got a cheeseburger with potato salad along with a couple of frosty beverages. The wait began. Even with burgers it took quite awhile to get the food but the food was worth the wait. This is not a "bar burger", this was a really good and large burger with all the fixins plus BBQ sauce that I asked for. It could have used a bit more bacon, because why not? But the burger was cooked perfectly and seasoned well, the cheese was thoroughly melted and the veggies were plentiful. The shoestring fries were crispy and there was an ample side of them. There was only one bartender for this busy night and she was all over the place, perhaps a second was needed because it took awhile to get drinks and to pay our tab at the end. She was friendly when we did get her attention. It's a nice place with many TVs and even a couple of video games and video poker plus a decent patio out back. I want to get back when it's not bust because I want to try some of best fried chicken in town. Enjoy.

Yelp
I don't know what happened but the food isn't the same anymore. The portion is horrible now. $17 is too much for the 3 pieces and 6 jojo's. Probably gonna stop recommending this place.

Brandon G.

Yelp
I cracked the code: check it, order the Loaded Grilled Cheese and spend the extra buck for JoJo's w/ranch on the side. I opted for the Overlander IPA and a PBR finish on draft. Service is legit! If you are in NoPo, gotta do it!

Yelp
new to the area and was starved. popped in bc they had video lottery and was not too bad. the burgers were bomb not to hipster and didnt force weird salad on us
google avatar

Yelp
Just moved to Portland and we were starving after a 18+hr drive from Colorado. We found this corner tavern and we said to our selves "screw it I'm starving let's eat whatever they serve". We order the bacon blue hamburger and a bacon cheeseburger. They only thing I can say is "Wowwwwwwwwww!!! Best freaking hamburger I had in a while! So happy this joint is a block away from my new apartment. Definitely coming back...... Ps drink are hella fucking cheap.

Yelp
Amazing food and service! Definitely recommend to try their Fried Brussels Sprouts ... The best thing I've ever tasted dipped in their sweet chili sauce. So yummy!

Yelp
Awesome place for food drinks and video poker. The cook went above an beyond to make me a veggie burger that was so good no would have even know it was vegan!

Yelp
One of the best and liveliest bars to watch football games on Sunday. My default option unless someone in our group wants to try something different. The crowd loves their teams and will talk tons of smack but friendly. Drinks are really reasonably and fried chicken is on point. I've had Reel M Inn and I think George's are better. Haven't tried the other food because I stuff my face with the wings and thighs. Sunday staff is awesome. Why not five stars? I don't want to punish the bar and rest of the high class staff bc of one terrible employee. My friends came in to catch a Thursday game and the employee with the chin piercing decided to feel one of my friends up. He then looks at her and says "oops, I thought you were someone I knew." Bartender behind the bar laughs and says "happens all the time." Basically assault being mis-classified as "mistaken identity."

Yelp
Dakota is THE BEST!!!!! He's efficient, kind and also knows how to lay down the law when necessary. A consummate professional, to be sure.

Yelp
Amazing food always, great service, good music, decently strong drinks, and great place to catch a game. Been about ten times and never had any issues. Love this dive.

Yelp
Very cool little corner dive bar in the Arbor Lodge neighborhood of North Portland, stumbling distance from the Killingsworth light rail stop. I really dug this place for a bunch of reasons, in no particular order: 1) tons of friendly folks who were obviously regulars but who were completely happy to share their space, and it was a diverse crowd too--all shapes, sizes, races and ages. Awesome. 2) a pretty decent menu of bar food, along with a rather astonishing note on the wall that during busy periods, fried chicken orders can take 1 to 2 hours to make...I should hope that it's some mighty good fried chicken... 3) I ordered a quesadilla, and it was truly impressive. It was actually two quesadillas on medium-sized tortillas, and they were loaded with cheese and some veggies; they must have each been over half an inch thick. They don't cut any corners on their quesadillas at George's! 4) Super nice bartenders, although the bar is sort of horseshoe shaped with taps and bottles in the middle, and if you sit on the side furthest from the door, as I did, there's a good chance that the bartenders won't really be able to see you...you're sort of in the "obstructed view" seats back there. And of course they have sports on televisions and the standard assortment of games where you play golf and shoot deer and match keno numbers and stuff, but you don't care about that! You're here for the good company, dranks, and a super-fat quesadilla to hold you over while the chicken is frying. Make yourself at home!

Yelp
Let's get down to it - the fried chicken is where it's at... hands down. If you don't like waiting for food, don't order the fired chicken bc we ALL know fried chicken takes some time when done right. They do it right here. They have Big Buck HD which is ALWAYS a plus for me and my compadres. They have cheap drinks, and dirt-cheap jello shots. They have TVs for sports. It's another old Portland site I don't see changing much in the future to come. I've been coming here for awhile on-n-off and I enjoy my time there. Don't be weird about how it looks on the outside. There's a reason George's is on the 'best of' fried chicken lists yearly. Being that this is right next to the max, it's a great place to pre-game prior to going to sporting events at the Rose Garden or the NW soccer-plex.
google avatar

Bryant B.

Yelp
The world needs bars like this. George's is delightfully divey. The food is bog standard bar fare (think fried and/or between bread), and they do it all quite well. The star of the show, however, is the fried chicken. Tender, juice meat hides behind breading with the perfect amount of seasoning. The kitchen gets a bit backed up (it's small), but the wait is worth it. They're right up there with Reel 'M Inn, for charm, earnestness, and quality of food. The regulars are quirky but very friendly, and the staff are quite funny. This is a piece of the old Portland...kinda scruffy, a little worn, and just a bit sketchy (in the best possible way), but absolutely unpretentious with a casual vibe with quality food and great people. If you're ever in the area and waiting for the MAX, stop on in.
google avatar

Andrea P.

Yelp
What to say about George's... Cheap drinks, good food and fantastic people watching. Easy access to public transport - max right outside. TONS of flat screens, so a great place to be on a Sunday in the fall. There is a back patio - all covered, so if you don't smoke - don't go out there (cough cough). Service is efficient and friendly. Good fun jukebox - people do dance. In general - it is kinda, well, divey - so it's dark and dirty, the corner by the mens room has a pervasive odor of...something, well, hmmm - I don't know but it is NOT good. I end up here often.
google avatar

Celina B.

Yelp
Fun dive bar!! The fried chicken is hit or miss depending on whos cooking, bartenders are all cool and all the old men day drinking there have great stories. Theres a big back patio too. go get drunk here
google avatar

Randall B.

Yelp
George's Corner Tavern is a real deal, no frills, dive bar. Come here for the cheap, stiff drinks. The jello shots out of a mini fridge. The barflys that are both too friendly and unfriendly. If sports is your thing, this is a good place to get your sports watching on. They have large, flat screen TVs strategically placed all around so you won't miss a second. The only place without a TV is the bathroom, but it isn't too far from one either. Don't worry though, if sporting isn't your thing, they have ample patio space where there aren't any TVs. The main reason I keep coming back to George's is the fried chicken. I love me some fried chicken and I often make it for myself and friends whenever I get the opportunity. George's fried chicken is great. Well seasoned, juicy, and crisp. It's fried to order so you aren't getting any of that corner store fried chicken that has been sitting under a heat lamp. Even the jo-jos are piping hot and crisp, not lukewarm and limp. Although I've never had it, I've been assured the burgers are great too.
google avatar

Yelp
This is difficult for me. I've been going to this tavern for 5 years. I've spent so much time here and some of the staff have become really good friends of mine. That said, I will not step foot in George's again. I've been unhappy for a while but the day staff have kept me coming back. The day crew are amazing and always treat the people eating and drinking well. About three weeks ago I noticed the food going downhill. I'd end up sick after I ate dinner there. I've been treated badly and witnessed racism from the weekend night bartender so I limited myself to going during the day and weeknights. I've still been supporting George's just not during the weekend. Tonight I had the bartender walk a customer that I've never seen before over to reset the jukebox so his songs would play before closing even though people had already put money in and were waiting for songs to cue up. This seems trivial I know but it's a symptom of a greater issue. In the last six months I've witnessed people that have been going to this bar for more than 10 years kicked out simply because of their skin color. In the last three weeks I've watched their food go from "great! Best fried chicken in town" to "...okay?" Great staff that worked hard to supply service fit for kings have been fired or quit. I know I'll stay friends with the people I've met here but we won't be spending time in these doors. This place is sick and it's to the point where I need to walk away. I'll spend my money somewhere else where people are treated the same regardless of color/class. It saddens me to walk away and hangout elsewhere but I know there are spots just blocks away that will treat people equally.

Yelp
I think I was surprised just like everyone else when I received my bill to pay for this fine establishment. A baconburger with potato salad, guinness, a couple of super stiff whiskey soda's, and 2 hefeweizens for under $20 bucks certainly made my day. The food arrived shortly after I finished half my guinness. Talk about fast and pretty good quality food to boot. Diced onions instead of sliced was a nice a touch and the bacon wasn't crisped to hell. Before I was able to take my first bite, the juices were dripping to my pants so already my small clumsiness was kicking in.... The fries that were shared were crisp and had the right amount of salt for seasoning. The patio in the back certainly catered to the huge group that I was with. The bar had some similarities to the one near my neighborhood except the food is so much better and the prices are a great steal. If you sit the in the back of the patio, don't expect the bartender to come to you. You always order more drinks at the bar, every time. It makes sense, I don't have to worry about splitting checks; just take care of everything at one spot.
google avatar

Tara S.

Yelp
I've lived down the street from George's for 5 years now, and have gone in often. It's a dive bar with average quality food for cheap prices, which in my book made it worthwhile. I went in tonight, ordered onion rings to go, and was met with a $7.50 bill. Menu said $6.50. Waitress had run my card, and I asked about this, and she said it was the Dollar to-go charge. Really? I've been coming here for 5 years and there hasn't been one yet, and the menu doesn't mention it, nor did she warn me when I placed a to go order. So now that I've paid $7.50 for a to go order of onion rings, get home, change in to my pajamas for the night and settle in to watch some Hulu and realize that the ranch that they are supposed to come with on the menu has been omitted and instead I've been given 3 packets of "Fancy's Ketchup". What? Really? You are going to charge me nearly $8 for onion rings, fail to mention your new upcharge, and leave out the ranch sauce that's listed on the menu and give me not enough ketchup packets to even make it through half of the order? I heard George's went through an ownership change. This does not bode well if this is the new level of care dedicated to the menu, service, and value of the overall purchase under new ownership.

Yelp
My go to football watching bar and where I will be watching March Madness. Yes this place is divey and a little sticky but it still is great! The bartenders no matter how busy it gets are spot on, quick, and pour strong. The food is tasty and comes out quickly. And the regulars are diverse and boisterous. This place is a legit bar with bar food and strong drinks. They have enough TV's to play all the games as well as plenty of seats at the bar. They serve breakfast for those who show up for those early games. They also have daily specials that are very affordable. ......did I mention the drinks are cheap?
google avatar

Joshua B.

Yelp
Love their fried chicken and jo jos, so tasty. I've always been treated very well by the staff and find it a comfortable place to chill with a good beer and feast on a delicious meal.

Yelp
True to the popular opinions expressed, this place is indeed a true sports bar. Went in here yesterday for the 49ers and Packers game and yes it was very rowdy! I was not hungry so I can't vouch for the food, but it was a fun friendly bunch. Sat next to this nice man who told us about a recent accident he was in. He was a in a neck brace, it didn't look comfy. Waitress was very nice and attentive. I would certainly love to return. Watching the game here was FUN!
google avatar

Mike P.

Yelp
Had Cheeseburger & Tots at Georges Corner the other day. The Beef was flavorful and juicy, the bun was fresh and soft. The best part was that the ratio of beef to bun was perfect. Tots were crispy outside and tender inside. In my opinion this Cheeseburger was as good or better than many of the other cheeseburger's I've eaten at some of Portland's notable Burger Joints. Keep up the good work George's Corner, I'll be back soon.

Yelp
Best dive bar ever. Cool bartenders and regulars. Highly recommend the grilled cheese with a side of pickles..

Yelp
An efficient, very clean, sports bar, dive. I had a really nice time here. The bartender was extremely efficient and no-nonsense. I saw traffic on the I-5 and it was bleak, so I considered stopping into George's. It was a satisfying stop. I forgot how clean this bar is. I used to consider it a dive, but it really isn't-----it's very clean. Their tap beer is just okay - kinda blah, but I had a Sierra Nevada Pale. This is one of my favorite and reliable beers. The bartender took a little while to get to me, but she was running the entire bar herself and it was busy. I appreciate any server who works hard and acknowledges the patrons even if it takes awhile to get their order. Lots of monitors each tuned to something different. Great decor around, clean restroom. I ordered Chicken Strips and Fries & a Tall Boy of Rainier. Man, is their food clean! It arrived piping hot, two huge chicken strips, and fries for $7. It was gluttonous and I felt guilty ---- but the quality was good. They do have a reputation for their Chicken anyway, so I knew this was a strong pick. Highly recommend getting of the road for this place. Lots of regulars surround the U-Shaped (sort of) bar. Keep up the consistent, solid work. One thing I laughed at, their menu print is pretty small, so a bit tricky to adjust my eyes.
google avatar

Joshua L.

Yelp
I used to like this place, a nice neighborhood bar with cheap drinks and excellent fried chicken. New owners took over though and changed the menu and the prices. Now you simply get less for more in terms of both quantity and quality. It's a shame really but unfortunately another sign of the times.

Emma P.

Yelp
I have loved this place and been somewhat of a regular for 10 years. I accept the changes going on there, and do like the happy hour menu and new items. However, the new bartenders are SO SLOW. The last 4-5 times I've gone in the male working is the worst. I know stuff happens, side work, talking to other customers.... But when I had to sit for 20 minutes with an empty beer glass in front of me--not cool. Or when I said I wanted to order food and instead you went out for a smoke break? Not cool. Don't turn this place into sh*t, please. We don't need another entitled "I serve you when I feel like it" bar around here.
google avatar

Stephanie W.

Yelp
Their fried chicken is totally something to write home about! During our extensive conversation with a friendly and interesting stranger, the two of us got a couple of pints each with an 8 piece 'bucket' of chicken and 12 jo-jos for about $19.00/each with tip! I certainly cannot complain, it's a really great deal! It takes a little while for them to bring out the food itself, but the best part about waiting is you end up with a piping hot meal that's fresh to order and not sitting in a wire basket under a heat lamp getting lukewarm and soggy. The skin is crispy but not super thick and crunchy - so be warned if that's your thing - and the meat is moist and tender. I'm just glad we finally made it there after a friend urging us time and again to check out his favorite neighborhood dive. We'll be sure to come back again when the fried chicken mood strikes and we don't want to stand in line for 1-2 hours over at Screen Door.
google avatar

Kari M.

Yelp
I KNOW I wasn't THAT drunk... Yet how can I explain a $18 bill for a bacon cheeseburger, fries, 5 PBR's and a rum and coke? I was flabbergasted. Was this a dream? A hallucination? A drunk girl's wishful thinking? No, it was all real and a dream come true, all at George's. I think I would consider moving up near this place just so I could stumble home from it more frequently (some people had some confusion at which direction was South after our departure, making stumbling distance something to be quite jealous over rather than using the incredibly convenient MAX right outside.) The food was yummy! Super cheap, served quickly and tasty to boot! Shangri-La, George's be thy name.
google avatar

Yelp
Jell-o shots! Or should I say "Jell-o $hotz!" Because that would be the kla$$y way to say it. George's Corner has been a staple NoPo dive bar destination for us for years. It has that very authentic dive bar feel - meaning that when your group cruises in on a Sunday afternoon the bar will be filled with authentic old drunks, genuine folks who have worked more than a few honest days in their life, and, well, the kind of people you'd expect to see in a real dive bar (read: not just a bunch of hip kids being ironic). And everything about George's reflects this. Cheap, STIFF drinks. Jell-o shots. Video poker. Old carpet. Fried food. Super nice staff. And the most secret part of all? A rad hidden back patio where you and your gang of drunken marauders can raise a ruckus, take your Jell-o shots and enjoy your stiff drinks. Just beware - the green Jell-o shots are made with tequila. And I'm not talking good tequila.
google avatar

Holy-foo' X.

Yelp
Damn, but there are a lot of sh*t-hole taverns in No Po! Considering the brackish, perma-stink bog popularly called the Columbia Slough, perhaps its only natural that the nearby watering holes would be awash in the brine. Whether you're new to the neighborhood or a NoPo lifer, that's one thing we can all pretty well agree on: the nearly uniform low quality of these old-timer bars. I know I can't be the only one that's glad to be able to say that Gorgeous George's is most definitely NOT among these..... This place has been serving 'em up cold, cheap and fast since the 1940s, when the original George used seed-money he'd scratched together after WWII ended to open the place. George's apartment used to be in the back of the building, and a lady's beauty salon used to be the "conjoined twin". Old George was clever about multiplying the streams of income. The salon of course is long gone, as is the old apartment, both in favor of an ambitious remodel. The place has had some outstanding turns in the Juvenation machine, at least on the inside; the outside still looks worn and withered and like it last saw a fresh coat of paint before any of us were born. [Note: I'm sure the exterior has been painted numerous times, including in recent years. Between the weather and the fumes from traffic and the numerous shhhmokers huddling outside George's, much good is un-done, quickly] Other than the friendly, low key vibe and attentive staff, what sets George's above most of the rest of the heap in NoPo is their outstanding menu, and they are open till beer thirty all week. Many places close by ten or midnight at the latest. George's also lacks utterly the trying-so-very-hard-to-be-rock'n'roll posturing so common elsewhere (uh, Slim's). This is a great place for a variety of burgers or appetizers (I really like the quesadillas, and steak fingers w/queso!). It's great to see the natural way the old and new guards sidle up to the bar, side by side. Apparently we CAN all just get along... Until I can think of a worthy challenger to the title, George's is the de-facto king of the hood. He gets one fool's vote, any way. 5 stars for a humble pub in No-Po, you might say? In terms of best of its class, well, yes. Unless you have a better candidate in all of North Portland, lose the attitude, and raise a toast w/me to Gorgeous George's.....

Yelp
My old neighborhood haunt - albeit not all that often, but it still holds all sorts of charm for me even after 4 plus years. So Yay! I'm a fan. It's really more of a 3 star neighborhood dive - but to me, it's still more than just A-OK. Stiff drinks, relatively cheap. Food is ok... sometimes maybe even a little better than ok. But basic bar fare from what I remember (there was no time to eat yesterday as we were passing time while waiting for our train, which is right out the window and across the street). Friendly bartenders, and great patrons. Always a mix of youngins and old timers and in-betweeners and the occasional douchebag (of whom we three strangers united in mockery). So the atmosphere and general good natured-ness of George's usually lifts my spirits and quenches my thirst and need for chatting with strangers at local dive bars quite nicely!

Yelp
Good bacon cheeseburger. OK selection of beers on tap, but mostly Widmer Bros. offerings. Stiff (did I mention stiff?) mixed drinks. Loved the pickled asparagus spear in the Bloody Mary. Nice patio with separated smoking and non smoking areas. About 2 dozen yeeps descended on them yesterday and pretty much took over the patio. Service remained good and friendly even though they were understaffed for our onslaught. Located right at a Yellow Line MAX stop. Next time I find myself in North Portland with a hankering for a Bloody Mary, I know where I'm going.

Yelp
One star. Thought I would give them another chance. Website said they served breakfast. Nope, but the first person I had contact with said he could make it happen. Had breakfast & drink. Tipped 30% because he made breakfast happen. Later ordered another drink. Asked how much ( a different person). He told me $5.25. I gave him $6. Never got change & he went to a different side of the bar. When I asked for my change he said "I usually get it as a tip". Hey dude. No!!!! I took my change. Thief. You put it on the bar as change & then I decide if you deserve it as a tip. NEVER going back.

Yelp
Okay I've been dazzled by the George's amazingly good & cheap food and drinks again and I feel like they deserve a Colbert bump up to 4 stars. They really are that good. The Bloody Merry's are really something as well as the well drinks. Honestly I don't know how much they cost but they are damn cheap and good too. I'm liking the patio and I will definitely be back again during football season as they do have the TV's going with drinks flowing. Thank Goodness for George's Corner! Cheers!

Yelp
This a totally legit dive bar and I loooove it! Old regulars, cheap drinks, and decent bar food make this place come together to make an amazing dive. The people here are super friendly bar flies. Some of them have been coming here for a while. There is a pretty good variety of people in general. The burgers are super tasty. I would say the most popular on the menu. I went here for a girlfriend's birthday party and everyone was getting the meat! I ordered the prime rib sandwich. It was super tasty. Loved the au jus. The horseradish sauce is on the side so you can add ass much or as little as you like. The potato salad was the side dish and it was de-lish. The juke-box is off the hook. They have a bunch of awesome old school songs and people singing out loud ain't no problem for this place. They are even down with banging tables for the most part. I think they can handle a good crowd. I have heard that during sports games that this place can get crazy. Bring it on!

Yelp
Oh, how I love thee... Best bar in PDX, period. The cheap pounder beers, the lively and entertaining crowd, and oh lord, the food! Give me a bacon cheeseburger with tots, and fried chicken any and every day! Thank you for being a non-pretentious, accepting of everyone, yet not a hipster bar bar. I love you George's.

Yelp
Andy! I will start this review by a shout out to a total BAMF of a bartender. Actually, this review is 100% for Andy. Andy: you served us a pitcher of beer as quickly as you could on a Thursday night. Andy: you didn't yell at us when we poured a beer into a can. I don't know why. Andy: you cleaned up our counter beer spills. Andy. Cheap beers, rad bar tender, chill crowd.
