"Anna’s, named after a niece and a grandmother, is a place where the diversity of Kirkwood eats together. Come here for traditional, local BBQ like pulled pork, turkey ribs, and banana pudding, and read the walls to see what others have to say about it." - Allen Gaoiran

"If we’re ever separated from our group while attending one of Kirkwood’s many annual festivals, we have this spot as our meet-up point. There’s just something about a place serving breakfast, brisket, and barbecue ribs every day that brings people together. Beyond the usual hits, you’ll also be pleasantly surprised by jerk wings that balance smokiness with the right amount of spice. It all pairs so wonderfully with Anna’s colorful, flavor-popping array of lemon, key lime, and red velvet cakes. What, you thought we got lost around here only for the meat?" - DeMarco Williams

We found this gem on google had lots of great reviews so we decided to try them out. I had the half of chicken dinner, my husband got the beef ribs dinner and he also ordered the smoked turkey sorry didn’t get the chance to take a pic of it. The food was 10/10 . Everything was so good from the Mac to the collard and the meats options. We will definitely be back.

I was hoping the pictures I saw online were a one off because the reviews were so good but after receiving the food(?) my suspicions were validated. The beef ribs were supposed to be a whole slab but that was a half slab. Now I have had plenty of BBQ and when it comes over done you have the heat either too high or the meat on the grill too long. I thought the sauce would save it, btw was the only good thing, but it didn't. The beef ribs had a little meat on the bone. I have been trying to find a place selling beef ribs and this disappointed me. The skin on the chicken wasn't eatable and the meat was dry. And after consuming a bit of the ribs, I became nauseous. Owner go to a popular BBQ joint and see how grill meat is supposed to look and taste. If it supposed to have been smoked then find someone who smokes. Learn how to properly cut the ribs. There is too much meat missing from the way it's being cut.

Food is astonishing! I live in Atlanta! Never in my life have I had brisket like this! Baked beans are beyond description! I could live on those for days, alone! Get extra sauce! It's worth it! Chef gave us a sample of ribs before we left! It was like dessert. Apparently the actual desserts are brilliant, as well! We had no room left for dessert! The people are so friendly! Not a lot of room in the restaurant. Get to go! It's totally worth it!

The food here is 🔥🔥🔥. I don’t eat everyone’s greens, but this place does them right. Their meat is on point and the baked beans delicious. As was the macaroni & cheese. The husband & wife running the place were so kind and down to earth. They are Southern charm and sweet tea service at its best. I live 40 minutes from this place and will drive to get this BBQ.

My wife and I came across Georgia Boy BBQ the other day and man were we happy to come across this spot. Chef-Pit master Warren and his wife Erica greeted us with some of that Georgian hospitality and served up a feast. This barbecue is amazing, smokey, tender, spicy (but not too much) peppery, bold and flavorful… I could go on and on. We had the ribs and the brisket with sides of collards and coleslaw. Those collards were by far the best I’ve had and complimented the meat perfectly. We were also lucky to see the action on the smoker and share some of our culinary experiences together, truly a beautiful exchange. His barbecue has opened up my eyes and taste buds to the whole sprectrum of BBQ and for that I am forever grateful. If ever you stop near Atlanta be sure to check them out!

Google
Unbelievably kind people, offering samples as soon as you express interest in their food. Delicious delicious smell of smoke smacks you in the face as soon as you walk in! Got the pulled pork sandwich and it was absolutely overflowing with meat. Some of the juiciest most flavorful bbq pork I’ve had. Their house sauce is maybe my favorite in the city. Nice and tangy, not too sweet, not to thick. These folks care about what they’re doing and are great at it too!! Will be back to try some of the smoked lamb.

Oh my, Georgia Boy BBQ is AMAZING! My wife and I visited tonight and had 1/2 rack of ribs (DELICIOUS!!!), some of the BEST mac and cheese we've had, tasty potato salad, some brisket (WOW), and some amazing sweet potatoes! Warren and "Red" own the place, and they are so nice, so welcoming, and so dang talented at cooking it up right! I've had BBQ all over the country (including in Texas, Nashville, etc.) and there's none better than what Warren cooks! The restaurant is not fancy at all - which my wife and I thought was so cool (authentic). We loved it! Timothy and Kay

Soon as you walk in the ambiance is that of a familiar BBQ joint. The wife greets you at the counter with a warmth that only close family or BBQ veterans can deliver. I had the brisket, ribs, and a bottle Superior Crack Smoked Sea Salt. The brisket could have been eaten with no teeth it was so tender. The husband heard me smacking and stepped away from the smoker to collect his praise to which I gave it to him. But I know BBQ so I challenged him "yeah the meat is tender but maybe the sauce is the star" I said. The husband looked at me, smirked, then gave his lovely wife the head nod. She reappeared with some ribs with No Sauce. LISTEN HERE!! It was soooo good, the smoke, the wood, the seasonings, the decades of experience was front and center!! I'll be throwing my next birthday party there for sure.

Yelp
We had some fantastic smoked wings here--so tender and full of flavor. Separated into flats and drumsticks. The peppery-sweet BBQ sauce on the side was a perfect match, and the collard greens were surprisingly good. I'm not usually big on collards, but these had something different that made them stand out. Glad to find this bbq place.

Yelp
Ribs were some of the best I've found in Atlanta in 23 years. My roots are Oklahoma and Texas and it's very challenging to find amazing BBQ like Oklahoma and Texas, but Georgia Boy BBQ comes close. After 23 years living in Atlanta I put Georgia Boy BBQ in my top 3-4 good places for ribs. I wasn't too crazy about the potato salad because it was a little loose and wet for me and didn't seem to have anything in except potatoes but I would probably order it again. The baked beans had ground beef in them and I kind of liked that. The BBQ sauce was too sweet and I like to have a choice of a sweet sauce and a hot sauce. The banana pudding was delicious! The customer service was amazing! The lady working the front counter was so sweet and nice!

Yelp
I wish I could return but I can't. I got my bro a half a chicken which he said was a 1.5 tasted like lighter fluid smh. I got a brisket sandwich which was the best thing I was able to eat. I also got a beef rib plate. I had beef ribs from every bbq place in the area that you can think of. I wanted to support the business because I never been. I cash app my bro back his money. The prices are more than the established bbq restaurants I visited. My beef ribs were charred. I couldn't eat much of that at all. If anyone grills meat you know that you are supposed to use odor less lighter fluid. No shade just facts. Other people left reviews on the restaurant website. Someone said that this is better than Fox Bros. I don't know whether they are on dope or dog food. Anytime someone asks do you want sauce on the bbq they are usually trying to cover up something. This happened to me like 3 to 4 weeks ago at a different restaurant.

Yelp
Stopped by on a whim just to try some wings. They didn't have wings at the time, so I ordered a 4 bone meal with collards and mac and cheese. The ribs were delicious, the collards with pigtails were VERY good... not overcooked to mush, and still had a nice bite to them. The pitmaster gave me a slice of brisket on the house and it was incredibly tender. I am not big on BBQ sauce in general, but their sauce has a nice bit of heat to it. Also! Owners are super nice. I love the places in my neighborhood run by good people. I can't wait to come back and try more.

Yelp
Perhaps if one of the Bs in bbq stood for "burnt" I could reconcile how over-cooked and tough this meat is...Truly a disappointing experience. It's like this location will be cursed until Anna comes back.

Lenora C.

Yelp
This was our first time coming here and we will definitely be back. The BBQ was delicious.... All of our sides were very tasty...

Nicole M.

Yelp
The owners are super nice. The food is great and i don't really even like BBQ. The location is perfect.

Yelp
We got the brisket and BBQ chicken and it was almost inedible. The brisket was super tough and covered in BBQ sauce when we asked for sauce in the side. The chicken was charred and dry. They also got our sides wrong which isn't the biggest deal. They're just opening so I get there will be growing pains but the food is not good at all and more expensive then places like Fox Bros which is top tier. It was over $30 for the most depressing brisket plate I've ever eaten. I would save your money and just get Fox Bros instead

Candace C.

Yelp
Wanted to check out the new spot- when I say the food was literally inedible I mean it. The brisket was insanely tough I could not bite through it- I can't stress this enough it was impossible to even bite through. All of the meat (we got pulled pork and brisket) tasted overwhelmingly like lighter fluid to the point where we couldn't stomach it. The potato salad was warm and it had eggs in it so that was unsettling. We got four sides and 3 of them were very bad- dry, under seasoned The collard greens were alright and the owners seemed really nice! - sad to report how overwhelmingly bad the food quality and taste was.

Yelp
Step into Warren and Erica's kitchen. You'll truly feel right at home. Welcoming smiles, appreciation and the sweet, tasty BBQ you're looking for. We had the pork platter, meat and sauce were great. Baked beans on the sweet side, which I liked. Great slaw. Warren even threw in a rib just to tempt us to come back for more.

Yelp
I like the pulled pork, really loved the baked beans, great collards and solid mac n cheese. Excellent service. All the customers were giving complements on their meals and I'm looking forward to trying the brisket next time. Super chill, very fast, and has a patio so bringing the dog was easy.

Yelp
Got the brisket dinner, whole chicken and pork dinner plus the cook had sausage he had me try. Delicious so got one of those to go too. Collards and potatoe salad on point as well. I'll be back for sure. Food a little on the pricy side but the portions are large and the quality is worthy the price of admission. Both the cook and wife super friendly.

Jeff C.

Yelp
Brisket is really amazing. This was my first time eating collard greens and they were phenomenal with a bit of heat. Portions are humongous - which explains the prices. I only sampled a bite of the pork ribs without the sauce and it was delicious. The owner has a great personality and is obviously passionate about his food.

Brant C.

Yelp
Excellent BBQ... MUST TRY!! The atmosphere and smells are free and I will gladly pay for the great Que and experience!!

Joan S.

Yelp
Goihd food and atmosphere. Enchantingly good food. Reasonably priced. Easy parking.

Yelp
I heard about the restaurant from a friend, and I have to say it was way better than I could've imagined. But as always I read reviews before I eat in Atlanta. Despite what seems like others hating on a black owned establishment nothing but good came from my visit here. I especially love the the veteran love I received being there and know the lady serving me was also a veteran made me feel at home. To the owners of the restaurant thanks so much for the service looking forward to seeing you all again.

Janette T.

Yelp
i don"t see this business lasting long. i orded a rib plate when i got home i had big bones of beef ribs and loose bones to make it look like i had a lot . i was highly disappointed burnt meat and not tender.will not give them a second chance.and pricey too for quality of food.

Yelp
CAUTION! This review reflects the actions of the Owners ON 3/10/24 my daughter Accidentally parked here as she was meeting friends after Mass at Petit Marche- She is a young mother 4'11" about 125 pounds with my 5 month old grandson, both were harassed and emotionally assaulted first by the female who identified herself as the Owner and asked for my daughter to move her vehicle, shortly the woman sent her husband to continue to the harassment- and godforbit what next? The man was yelling and wanted to engage into an argument with my daughter about her moving the vehicle- as the vehicle was being moved luckily by now her friend and herself were already moving into Petit Marches restaurant parking as directed by parking custodian, guiding her away from angry husband yelling at my daughter as he still was trying to engage into a argument for absolutely no reason. My message to patrons is be aware of surroundings and people like these people praying defenseless people. I am so thankful that they didn't hurt my daughter or my grand baby. CAUTION! My daughter did apologized right off the bat and told the lady I'm sorry i will move my vehicle and she did, the rest of the situation should have not happened.

Yelp
I accidentally parked my vehicle in the wrong lot in front of this restaurant on Sunday afternoon after mass. As I unloaded my baby the owner (a woman) stated I was not allowed to park there since I was dining at Petit Marche. I stated I would have somebody move my vehicle in just a moment. As promised, I came out with the gentleman who volunteered to move my vehicle since I was alone with my baby. The owner ended up having her husband come out to harass me for "rolling my eyes". Honestly, I was so scared and overwhelmed with everything. I cannot believe this was happening. Thank God there were witnesses, because I thought the man was going to approach me. I ended up just walking away from the husband. I had a nice man save a new parking spot for me in front of petit marche. This is suppose to be a nice neighborhood so it's unfortunate the owner sent a man outside to do god knows what to me.
