Newcomer Supra Is Leading the Georgian Wine Renaissance in D.C. | Eater DC

"A Washington D.C.-based wholesaler and importer, Georgian Wine House — through director of sales and operations Noel Brockett — worked closely with Nelms and the Supra staff to craft a comprehensive wine list that strikes a balance between traditionally made options and budding innovators; Brockett emphasizes that Georgian winemaking encompasses ancient, modern, and old-world techniques and calls Supra’s menu a unique opportunity to reflect that wide tradition, and he also notes that the D.C. area is one of the strongest markets for Georgian wine in the country." - Dayana Sarkisova

The Georgian Wine House was quite a delightful find for us. We love all types of cuisine, and this was a complete feast! We wanted to try everything and ended up taking a lot home and that in itself was wonderful as we could continue the taste experiences into the next day. Some dishes were known to us but most were not and the adventure of discovery did NOT DISAPPOINT!! The owner and staff are very friendly and accommodating. We highly recommend this to anyone who is wanting to try something different that is also absolutely delicious and exquisitely prepared!! Kudos to this establishment- we will be back as frequently as possible! And thank you again to the owner for his special gift to us at the end of the evening! Quite delicious and totally appreciated.

We had the pleasure of hosting our International Workshop Committee meeting (Drexel University) at Georgian Wine House & Cuisine, and it exceeded our expectations in every way. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with elegant Georgian decor, soft music, and perfect lighting that created a relaxed and enjoyable setting for both conversation and dining. The staff was exceptionally accommodating and attentive throughout the evening. From the early planning stages to the conclusion of our meal, they remained professional, organized, and flexible to meet the needs of our group. Service was smooth, efficient, and marked by thoughtful attention to detail. The food was outstanding—every dish was beautifully presented and full of rich, authentic flavor. It was evident that only fresh, high-quality ingredients were used, and the care in preparation truly stood out. Portion sizes were generous, and pricing was very reasonable for the quality offered. We also appreciated the restaurant’s ability to comfortably accommodate our group and provide a semi-private space that allowed for productive, uninterrupted discussion. Overall, Georgian Wine House & Cuisine was an excellent choice for our Drexel University committee meeting for International workshop. The hospitality and service left a lasting impression. We highly recommend this venue for future professional gatherings or formal dinners—and I’ll definitely be returning with my family and friends!

Absolutely the Best Georgian Cuisine! This place is a true gem for anyone who loves authentic Georgian food. Everything we tried was delicious, but the shashlik was out of this world — juicy, perfectly grilled, full of smoky flavor, and seasoned just right. The meat was tender and literally melted in our mouths. The khachapuri, sauces, and starters were equally amazing. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, with that special Georgian warmth and hospitality. A huge thank you to the staff for making the experience so enjoyable. Can’t wait to come back again!

Fantastic place with amazingly flavored authentic dishes. Georgian culture can be felt through their food, which is the main reason I'd come back. Great place!!!

Happy and grateful to have a special place to visit, and enjoy truly Georgian delicious &amazing food at northeast Philadelphia. I am glad to say that this is the best Georgian Restaurant in the area I ever been. I took my friends from Washington at that new place and we really enjoyed our dinner so much. I couldn't ask for better service and food. Stuff is polite and helpful, food is very tasty, the place is well decorated and cozy. Highly recommend for any special occasion or if you just want to take someone you like.

Yelp
This location has gone through several changes in recent years; from Russian nightclub, to Turkish restaurant, to it present operator, a Georgian wine merchant and restaurant specializing in that South Central European cuisine. We were actually looking for the Turkish kitchen, but we're happily distracted by the new tenant. Without reservations, we were directed to the outdoor seating in front of the building. Not a bad place to eat and drink, with heavily urethaned picnic tables and large umbrellas overhead. Our server was very helpful and hospitable, understanding we had little experience with Georgian food and less with their vineyards. We were invited to sample the wines in house. She poured a dry red for us that we both liked and ordered a glass for each of us. It was drier than a merlot, and more like a cabernet . Its Georgian name escapes me. We ordered Borscht soup and Adjaruli Kharchapuri for me and Pork BBQ for son 'o mine, which was a 50% off special. The Borscht was served hot with plenty of red beet and chunks of beef. A small dish of sour cream was offered to lighten/sweeten the flavor. My grandmother made this dish, but served it cold with a hot boiled potato thrown in for heat and added texture rather than meat. Liked this version, too. The Kharchapuri is an excellent bread shaped like an open boat (Viking?), full of salty cheese. A raw egg is placed in the middle with pats of butter. Again, our friendly server was helpful in mixing all that together until it was an egg/cheese mass with wonderful taste with the bread ripped apart by hand and cupped to scoop up the gooey center. It was a terrific tactile entertainment. Delicious. The BBQ Pork was simple and tasty. All customers other than us were speaking Georgian which greatly contributed to the exotic ambiance of the operation. People were dressed up for Fathers Day, and there were grandparents and plenty of children involved in the activities. We appreciated being allowed to sit on the edge of their Sunday evening and sample a nice slice of Georgian culture.

Yelp
I would give it a one star, but food was fine. Service is terrible, frankly nonexistent. We had to "beg" repeatedly for everything, from placing our orders to cleaning our table. Waitress's attitude was ignorant to rude at the very least, felt like they really didn't want us there. Shame, such a downfall from a year ago Luckily there are plenty of other places around where customers are not ignored

Yelp
They don't speak English very well, but they are very welcoming. Lots of great food and wine to try!

Yelp
Decent food, but terrible selection of wine. Ambience also sucks. Russian music and songs in Georgian restaurant.
