Where to Find the Best Desserts in Dallas

"Chef RJ Yoakum loves a dish that mimics and elevates something else, and his Candy Bar dessert is exactly that. Imagine a Snickers bar, with it’s core ingredients of chocolate, caramel, and peanut, but instead the best version of those ingredients one could use, paired with house-made croissant ice cream. It’s a fun time and it satisfies a chocolate craving." - Courtney E. Smith

Google
First time trying Georgie's and I was not disappointed! I got the eggs Benedict with a side of hash browns. The Hollandaise was so delicious and the eggs were cooked perfectly!! My boyfriend got the Denver omelette with fruit and rye toast!! Also delicious!! I am so full but I absolutely can't wait to come back again!!

Super delicious breakfast and good coffee. Nice little spot with great service.

Our first time here. We waited for about 5-10 minutes for a table. It was busy so we knew it wasn’t “fast food “. Definitely worth the wait. My husband had the Georgie’s Omelet with ham and I had the Buffalo’s Chicken Wrap…sauce on the side. The portions were great and the fries were hot and tasty! We will make it back again.

Big smiles greeted me from the staff. I loved sharing this space with the locals. I had to try the Banana stuffed pancakes with Nutella. It covers all the major food groups - chocolate, sugar, butter, grains, fruit. I finished the entire order-it was that good. I love a place that is handicapped accessible!

Google
Great service, Great food, Great people! Visiting Fountain Hills and stumbled upon Georgie's for a Sunday morning breakfast. I would recommend!

Google
Remember, it's pancakes 🥞, not French toast 😂!! The food is always fabulous, but somehow, when my friend orders pancakes, they bring her French toast! It's kinda hilarious as it's happened twice in a week one month period.

This restaurant is consistently great! Keep up the good work and we appreciate your fantastic service. From a FH local that loves her southern skillets well done.

Google
Nice little restaurant on the Avenue of the Fountains. We have eaten here twice and the first experience was ok. Good enough to give it a second try. The second visit was terrible and we will not be dining here again. The server was pretty much useless as we only saw her 3 times total during our entire meal. Once to take our order, once to drop off our food, and once to drop off our check. We had to ask whoever we could flag down for coffee and water refills and never did get any cream or sugar for the coffee. Half of the food didn't taste bad, but the preparation and presentation were all over the map. I ordered the Eggs Benedict and was very disappointed. One of the eggs was very overcooked think hard boiled while the other was super runny and undercooked to the point of still being cold and the white still clear think half raw. The hollandaise sauce was very sour like it was a few days past its expiration date. I love food and I love to eat so it's rare that I don't finish a plate even if I don't care for it. I left this on the plate with only 2 bites taken out of it. Our server couldn't be bothered to even notice that I left an entire uneaten plate of food in front of me before tossing the check on the table. My wife ordered a mimosa that never showed up and the French toast and other than being cold from sitting before being brought out it was fine. All in all, one ok experience and one really bad experience= I will spend my money elsewhere. Really no excuses for service this poor and food that's not been properly prepared when you are charging people to eat it.

Yelp
Went here for brunch. Very clean modern interior look. We were seated immediately, although the place had many customers already. Very friendly staff. Food was great, from the veggies scrambled from the Skillet section to the French toast all were yummy. Their outdoor seating is great for nice days. They have a bar and serve food all day, so whether you join for brunch/lunch or dinner you are in good hands.

Yelp
Just because this spot is not my cup of fresh brewed coffee doesn't mean it won't be yours! My partner and I visit Phoenix/Scottsdale annually, so we decided to do something new and stay in Fountain Hills for the weekend. I like pancakes but wanted hummus, and my partner likes giant omelettes and anything and everything full of eggs. Bam, Georgie's was the perfect fit. Once immediately seated, we were ready to order. Hummus, check, pancakes, check, omelette, check. There was a bit of a mixup with my pancake order, but the kitchen tried to resolve it. While I wish I could go on and on about how fabulous everything was, our experience was...just fine. The service, albeit friendly, was just fine, each item we ordered was just fine. Perhaps I need to try a few of the other menu offerings, but it's not a spot I'd be eager to recommend just yet!

Yelp
Food- good Service - almost non-existant Ambience - Bright, simple, not too loud, casual. Not much more to add about service. We didn't need much but it's good when at least they check 9n you a couple times before they drop the check. Our server was nice, just felt we were somewhat overlooked because we opted to sit at the counter so we wouldn't need to wait for a table. Had the Denver Omelet and son had the Country Omelet. Both good. My fruit was ripe, fresh, and crisp. The hashbrowns looked like a perfect shred, browning, and a large portion. Thr Mimosa was off in flavor but that could be the champagne they use. I'd go back if I'm in the area again because of the food and ambience. Maybe we'll have more personal service when that next time roles around.

Yelp
Went here for Mother's Day brunch and it was such a great experience. It wasn't busy and we were able to sit outside, with a group of 8. Though, the inside was decorated perfectly and gave such a homie feel. The servers were soo accommodating, constantly asking if we needed more shade, water, etc. & The food was amazing, huge portions! Got the chocolate chip pancakes - and we were able to make substitutions as needed. We went home stuffed with smiles.

Yelp
I can't believe I've not yelped this place yet? Huh. It's great for breakfast and lunch. They've got a good diverse menu, salads, burgers, pitas, and sandwiches, breakfast and lunch! My go-to is the Greek Salad with the gyro meat. I imagine their Beet dressing is really good, but it's mayonnaise based so I can't eat it, instead I'll get the Balsamic dressing. The gyro meat is so good that you really don't need dressing, though. The hubs usually gets a burger, and thoroughly enjoys it. It's comfortable and casual with indoor and outdoor seating. The staff is always friendly and helpful. I don't want to forget that they have a bar. After you're done, be sure and walk Linear Park (the median on the Avenue) and check out the art. Burn off some of the calories before you head home!

Yelp
Location is everything and I live upstairs. Score. The food is fantastic but kinda basic. You will not find fancy coffee -black, cream & sugar (NO Splenda here only the blue or pink packets ). Not a whole lot of options if you don't eat pork or beef by way of substitution. So no chicken as an addition, no turkey sausage or turkey bacon. It's like a diner from the 80s. Sanka or Folgers.. it's like that. BUT the food is on point. My go to is avocado toast because there's not much else for me unless I go meatless or want pancakes etc.. the avocado toast is phenomenal so there's no real complaint other than lacking in options. My friend had the banana and Nutella stuffed pancakes and they crushed that. Well except for the Hershey syrup on top. Nutella is amazing. Hersheys syrup is not really chocolate and tastes nothing like Nutella so that was a fail. They should dollop with Nutella and bananas on top & forget The Hershey syrup as it is NOT even close to the same caliber of chocolate. I know they are catering to older people but older people have taste buds too. If they love Hershey's syrup they're most likely not gonna order Nutella and banana stuffed pancakes.. so no need to force that union..just sayin'

Yelp
Delicious food, huge portions and a super cute patio area that does not get a ton of morning sun! They were very busy on a Sunday morning.

Yelp
Great service. We were the only ones under 75 in the place so it was quiet and peaceful. Bright and clean inside. Food was 8/10.

Yelp
Service was super slow that day but it was Memorial Day. Only two staff in front of house as we watched the hostess quit during our meal. A street dressed guest/ maybe employee on her day off? Started bussing tables at one point. Other two waitresses looked ready to cry. I really liked the food so it was a shame.
google avatar

Shawna H.

Yelp
Dropped in for breakfast although they serve lunch and dinner as well. The place is cute and clean but a bit bare bones. The service was slow and our order was incorrect but the server fixed it and all was fine. Until we had to wait for the check ... and then wait for the server to return to pick up the check ... and then wait longer for her to bring it back to us after charging our card ... so not very attentive. Not interested in returning.

Yelp
For our first day in Fountains Hills, we were looking for a chill delicious breakfast and caffeine spot, and Georgie's was perfect for this mission. They have many yummy breakfast options, I opened for the French toast with a side of scrambled eggs and bacon. My friends liked their avocado toast, house black coffee, and the breakfast burger. The portions were large and we felt fueled for the day. There wasn't a wait either to be seated.

Yelp
I had breakfast this morning with my friend who suggested going here I had the meat lovers omelette, which was pretty good fruit and toast. She had the vegetarian skillet with a small couple small changes and hers was good. Service was good and the price wasn't too bad.

Mary M.

Yelp
I chose to sit at the bar area. There was one couple sitting there. The server was engaged in conversation with them. It was challenging to get the server's attention. I was ready to order and again, I had to get the server's attention, taking her away from conversation with the couple, to take my order. Someone else delivered the food to me. That person got me silverware as the server had not given me silverware. The server did not check back with me after I received my food. She continued in conversation with the couple. I had to get the server's attention again to ask for the bill. I am a server. This experience caused me not to want to return to Georgie's. I wrote underneath my signature on the bill that the server made me feel invisible. I hope she looks inward and does not repeat this behavior for future customers.

Yelp
Great breakfast spot and good people. They have daily soups I really like as well. They also have saganaki.

Yelp
This is a great hidden spot. Service, prices, and food are all great. Dine inside or out in the patio. It's perfect for families, and either before or after dining here, there is plenty to see on the Aveune.

Sharon B.

Yelp
Good food and service; will be going again sometime soon...my aunt really likes this place and the owner is very nice to her as well.

John C.

Yelp
Food is well prepared and portions are generous. Menu items include some Greek specialties. I love the lemon chicken soup.

Yelp
Up front I want to say that the waitresses were AMAZING and this review in no way should reflect on them trying to make the best of this situation. This without a doubt in my mind falls squarely on back of house and management. Summary: Kitchen sent out a sandwich that had very little meat, refused to fix, then refused to make a new plate, while being rude enough to the waitress that she was crying while apologizing, despite the fact that she did nothing wrong. I waited a full day to post the review to give myself time to calm down and make sure I didn't write something in the heat of the moment. I ordered a Philly Cheese Steak and my wife ordered the Gyro. I took a bite of my sandwich and surprised I got nothing but onion and pepper I opened it up to look at it. I was surprised to find almost no meat in it, but figured that mistakes happened. When the waitress came around to our table I showed her the sandwich which she immediately agreed looked light on meat and took back to the kitchen. After a few minutes she came back and notified us that the cook said that was the correct portion amount and he would not add more meat to the sandwich (keep in mind the gyro my wife was enjoying had at least three times the amount of meat). The waitress offered to cancel that out and have me order another item at which point I attempted to order the bacon burger. I say attempted to order the burger because again in a few minutes the waitress came out, clearly upset, and stated that the cook not only would not add meat to the sandwich, but flat out refused to make a different meal for our table. She offered to comp the table and apologized which was upsetting because she did absolutely nothing wrong. My family finished the fries on my plate and left, making sure to tip the waitress who was so helpful and had to deal with the cook. At no point did we ask for anything to be comped, and actually would have still been happy to pay for the gyro and burger if they had been made. My wife and I were simply in shock at the rudeness of the cook, and the management not stepping in to address the issue when their waitstaff was trying to help a situation they had no responsibility for.

Yelp
Georgie's wrote the book on customer service. The food is not good but great. Service is not good but great. Keep up the great job.

Yelp
We enjoyed our first breakfast here. We stumbled on it driving around looking for breakfast options. The service was friendly and we were offered drinks right away. The menu had lots of options for breakfast eaters. I went with the waffle and my hubby with with the classic meal of eggs, sausage and potatoes. Our meals came quickly and they piping hot. Eggs were cooked beautifully. I wish they had espresso drinks but the coffee was okay.

Yelp
A table of 9 girls sat on the patio overlook like pond and it was beautiful! The patio was lined with misters and it was in the shade when we went. Delicious menu, yummy drinks and a very attentive and polite staff! Would go back again!!

Mary Ann S.

Yelp
After taking in my pre bought coffee to enjoy breakfast here I was told to never bring in outside coffee again... when I asked, Why? (I never leave my cup for anyone to dispose of....) I was told that it was unsanitary. huh? Haven't been back since. Really silly way to run a business.

Yelp
I recently enjoyed a delightful breakfast on Georgie's outdoor patio, including upbeat and relaxing complimentary acoustic guitar music. Our meals (coffee, eggs, crispy cooked hash browns, fresh fruit and salsa) were delicious, and the service and ambiance was spot on. We'll be back again and highly recommend!

Yelp
I have to say I was impressed with Georgie's yesterday. Understaffed on busiest day in years they provided good food and excellent friendly service. I'm amazed and disappointed in the other regulars showing distinct lack of understanding of the situation. Way to live up to stereotype of the spoiled, privileged Fountain Hills resident.

Yelp
The food was good. The service was efficient. The place was pleasant. It was a good breakfast just not spectacular.

Yelp
We tried Georgies since it was right around the block from our hotel. It was a really nice spot to have breakfast (they also do lunch & dinner). Portions are very big & generous & everything was reasonably priced & prepared well. The Eggs Benedict was perfect. Onion rings & grilled cheese was also an excellent choice. It was a bit crowded & noisy inside so we opted for the patio. It didn't seem like the outdoor seating was set up or inviting (it was just there) & we had to ask if it was even an option to do. Others mentioned misters & the photos make it look so nice, but that was not our experience & the table wasn't wiped down or anything when we were seated & it had lots of twigs on it. This wasn't a big deal but it's not abnormal to want to dine outside in AZ in the summer, especially early in the morning & for some reason we've been finding this more & more difficult to do in places or finding that outdoor seating areas are just not kept up for that, which is disappointing. Otherwise everything was perfect.

Yelp
Best restaurant in town! Excellent food and staff is amazing! Great place to have brunch and catch up.

Shawna P.

Yelp
I love this place. Food is yummy, restaurant is clean and bright, servers are very nice.

Yelp
Fish and chips and karaoke at georgies? Yes and not only is the late ole good, but so is the good! The cod beer battered fish was moist and tender snd scrumptious! The chips were the tho k British kind and hot hot to the table, freshly fried and did not sit under the light a second. Thanks to the great service, that is! The staff are wonderful and I will be back.

Yelp
Georgie's' food and service are outstanding and the servers are top-notch in their brand new location. Treat yourself and your favorite people!

Yelp
Georgies has been our go to place since it was on La Montana. Good home cooked food. Service has been good since they moved to their their new locale. Much nicer place than the old place. Bright and more room. Nice patio too. Really like Georgies, unfortunate that they have staffing issues and they have to close early on some nights.
google avatar

Yelp
This is my first visit to their new restaurant. The food was very filling, you won't leave hungry. I had #5, two eggs with polish sausages, sour dough and hash browns. Every item was cooked just right. The sour dough bread was really fresh and the staff greeted me with a smile.

Yelp
Cute little corner shop that feels like home. If you're looking for comfortable spot which I find as a hidden gem out in fountain hills, look no further you found the right place! The waitresses are very warm and welcoming as well as their food is amazing! By far my favorite spot to go with girls friends as well as my husband to get a great breakfast as well as mimosas! And for the men out there, they don't serve little amounts so you get a great sized meal!
google avatar

Yelp
Great service, satisfied customers and lots of shade outdoors. Breakfast does not disappoint. Thank you!

Yelp
If you want to see the famous fountain! And enjoy some delicious American food! Stop on by to Georgies ! The biscuits & gravy were fresh and fluffy ! Club sandwich was delicious and fresh ! We had the meat lovers skillet & the Georgies omelette with generous portions. The owners are awesome people!

Mimi L.

Yelp
Great spot for breakfast and lunch. They serve the whole menu all day. Courteous service. Good value. Outside seating is nice as well as inside. Clean and bright.
google avatar

Susan G.

Yelp
All meals I had here were super tasty. I especially recommend the avocado toast, especially on Sunday so you can pair it with unlimited mimosas. The mimosas are not the watered-down kind either; they're crisp and orange-juicy--PERFECT!

Al E.

Yelp
Great place to eat! Breakfast is their speciality , wonderful outside seating, great staff and a great cook!! Sunday morning we even had love music!! Can't beat a deal like that!!

Paul D.

Yelp
Had George's Skillet with gyros, potatoes, onions, peppers, etc. it was tasty. Service was excellent.

Marie P.

Yelp
While I was pleased to see the wide menu and the nice patio, the food was mostly disappointing. Vegetarian wrap had little flavor. Lemon soup wasn't that good either. The strangest type of meat in the club sandwich--weird chunky bits of turkey that seemed like chicken but wasn't and a thick slice of ham like for breakfast. Odd...nice wait staff though.

Yelp
We went here last night - two couples with very different palates. It was absolutely delicious! We four each had something different : fish and chips, patty melt, stuffed grape leaves and a gyro sandwich (what a great menu!). Each and every dish was wonderful! I had the fish and chips and the homemade cole slaw was ridiculous. I am a cole slaw expert! Yummmmm. The fish was flaky and moist. So so good!! The waitress was delightful and beautiful (Helena). We loved her! The chef talked to everyone! So friendly and welcoming. You have got to go here. We live in Tempe and we are going back very soon. The chef talked about the homemade cheesecakes he makes and serves! Again I say "yummmm". The atmosphere does not match the delight - do not let that deter you. We thoroughly enjoyed Georgie's and it made us all happy.

Gretchen Z.

Yelp
The floors were dirty with food and paper. The fries were not hot. The meat was dry. My friend ordered soup and said it did not taste good....didn't eat it. The server did a nice job which was greatly appreciated.

Yelp
Sadly, I have to be honest with my review. We are visiting in town and, as is often the case, I looked to Yelp to find the best breakfast. I ordered a couple of plates to go, which were bagged up in the time I was quoted, but, unfortunately, by the time I got back to the hotel, we saw that they had forgotten the toast that goes with one of the egg orders. Also missing was any salt and pepper, which would have been good because the hash browns were under seasoned and, of course, eggs had no seasoning. I'm giving 4 stars instead of 3 because the ingredients were obviously fresh and the avocado egg plate I got was delicious (albeit underseasoned). Nice people, nice looking place. Just a couple of oversights for us.

Wanda S.

Yelp
Some of the worse food we have ever been served. It was so bad, after each of us took a bite of our meals, asked for the check, paid and went to another restaurant to eat. NEVER aga8n will we step foot in there.

William J.

Yelp
Great breakfast place! Ended up eating here regularly while in Fountain Hills. Everyone in our party really liked what they ordered. Friendly service and great food. Definitely recommend.

Michael R.

Yelp
Best breakfast in town and they offer the bottomless mimosas if your in the mood! (Not your average little mimosa so be carful haha) Not over greasy and fantastic comfort food. Been to Georgie's for breakfast, lunch/dinner and have not had a bad meal or service. Highly recommend!!

Bruce I.

Yelp
Ordered two fish dinners to go, one with onion rings and the other regular fries. No onion rings Second request was for extra tartar sauce, none was provided in either dinner. Fries are horrible
google avatar

Yelp
Super sanitized, friendly service, and great family owned business. Love this gem! Owners are really friendly and CARE about their patrons. Would recommend this place. Beautiful location on the ave of the fountains, pet friendly patio as well! Very clean too!
