Incredible steak and very patient with recommendations and instructions on how to cook it. I don't cook much but following what they said, it came out amazing. Dont forget the double baked potatoes. So friendly and made me feel like family. What nice guys!

Otto, Diane and the rest of the team is nothing short of amazing! My boyfriend and I go into the shop twice a month to pick up a mass order for our dogs and a few things for ourselves. I love being able to call ahead to order 40 lbs of meat for the dogs and it's ready when I arrive. The team is courteous, and sweet, their offerings are wide and the product is top notch!

This place is awesome! Since moving back to Chicago, I was on the hunt for a traditional meat market similar to ones I had in Grand Rapids and Denver, and this place did not disappoint! Friendly, knowledgeable, clean, and straight forward. I even accidentally left something on the counter when I left and the poor woman chased me down to make sure I got everything. Definitely going to be my go to joint!!

Ridiculously pricey!And what I mean is their price of ribs were right at $6.99 per pound when I ordered! I couldn't believe it when all I ordered was four slabs of ribs and a few pounds of hamburger and the price tag was a whopping $90! I don't mind paying a little more when you are getting a little more but this is ridiculous because the meat is the same... i'm in such disbelief that I am going to weigh these things when I get home.….If this is what an old-fashioned butcher place has to charge to stay in business I'm sorry I cannot be a sponser because these are not average customer prices these are more like sponsor contributions!

The PRIME Rib i bought today was, according to everyone, fabulous. I lost my sense of taste and smell two years ago so this was quite a stretch for me but I wish I would have had my camera on. They were all googly eyed it was so delicious. Amazing. If you want praise and are willing to pay for, Gepperth's is the way to go.

Put in my order for a 4 rib PRIME RIB for Thanksgiving, Robert was great! will pick up on the 22nd and let y'all know if it's as scrumptious as i expect. They sell nothing but PRIME so i'm hoping for the BEST!!! Also got a pound of Moroccan lamb sausage... will let you know.😋

One of the worst customer service experiences ever. I thought I would give this place a try because I recently moved to the area. But the staff today were incredibly u helpful. They did not have the cut of meat I had in stock. But instead of taking my order in advance, they told me just to drop in every day to see what they might have. What a joke.

Seriously awesome butcher shop and market. They had everything I could want, including several game meats. Their hotdogs are downright amazing, I know you're thinking 'a hotdog, seriously?', and yes I am serious when I say it was the best tasting hotdog I have ever eaten. Many flavors of house-made sausages which were delicious and are highly recommended. The guys working know their craft very well and can offer butchering and cooking tips if you need. I will absolutely be going back for more.
