Germain's Chicken Sandwiches

Stumbled across this place it has nice outside seating Undercover and a few places to sit inside it is a little warm but it's okay decorated fun simplicity. I had sticky ribs absolutely delicious my other half of the chicken wings and he absolutely devoured them we even ordered the chicken sandwich to go look forward to going back

I drove 45 minutes to try Germain’s, and while the chicken sandwiches were very good, the real standout was the ribs. They were absolutely delicious—perfectly seasoned with a great balance of flavors, and the meat just fell right off the bone. On top of the great food, the outdoor seating was perfect for enjoying our meal on the beautiful day we visited. While I probably wouldn’t make the long drive again just for the food, if I’m ever in the area, I’d definitely stop in—especially for those incredible ribs!

This is the best chicken sandwich I have ever had. All a restaurant has to do is create a good product and do that consistently well over time. Germaine does that. What a great spot! Today was a beautiful day to sit out for a good meal and Germain's was the right choice. It was my first time here and my friends as well! I took a messy pic of my food but it was delicious! Mine had blue cheese on it and it was delightful!

Great everything. Left the kids at home and came here for an adult lunch out. I opted for the egg rolls, a warm roasted Brussels sprout salad and a lovely adult beverage(because I can never pass up anything with elderflower). Everything was seasoned well, the egg rolls had dark meat in them (which I was happy about) and they came with consume and chipotle sour cream dipping sauces. My wife had a hot honey chicken sandwich with ranch fries and thought everything was great also. Her’s was also well seasoned and noted that the chicken was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. We actually ended up sitting outside and listened to some great music. Excellent vibe and well worth the money for us. We will be back.

I ate The Honey Bird. It was very good but not as hot as I thought it would be. My daughter had the Katsu Chicken Salad. I loved the atmosphere with games and our door seating. Also they had exceptionally clean bathrooms.

We stopped in because the patio dining area was full around 2 pm, so we figured the food was good. Took about 25 min to get meal but it was worth the wait. Tasted amazing. Staff seemed a bit confused and stressed but overall a great meal.

If you haven't had Germain's, you haven't had a chicken sandwich! I tried the Rooster Dlx, and it is the best chicken sandwich I've ever had. On top of the delicious sandwich, the fries are perfect, crispy, and well-seasoned. On top of THAT, the seasonal lemonade, mango right now, was a surprise hit, perfect for a hot Florida day. If you're in Gainesville, or traveling through, Germain's is a must try!

The Korean fried chicken sandwich is delicious! Stopped here today while at the big Booksale at Friends of the Alachua County Library. We come up twice a year from South Florida for that, and we just found our new favorite place for lunch around the corner!! You order here at the counter, and they bring it to your table. It was a bit warm to sit outside, but in better weather that would be nice. I'll return in the spring during the next Booksale!

I had tried Germain's food truck a few years ago and sadly got a raw chicken patty. I had already left the premises so I didn't say anything. It was enough to put me off that I never went back. I went through Yelp and Google reviews and was convinced to come back. I came with my bf and we each ordered 2 different chicken sandwiches. I always split food with him so we cut our sandwiches in half and dove in. After it we were hungry but not because of portion but because we had not eaten since 9am and it was already 7pm. So we decided to try a third and split it in half as well. The sandwiches we chose were The Good feather, Rooster Deluxe & Honey Bird. Each was so delicious. They were curated so beautifully. The Rooster Deluxe felt a little plain to me. But The Good feather had this Parmesan garlic sauce that was just so decadent and I was dreaming about how that sauce would taste on some wings. Probably the best homemade parm sauce I have had. Very balanced . The toppings offered a great balance to help with the richness of the sauce. I would say the Good feather and the Honey Bird was my favorite. Honey bird was messy but in a good way. It was sticky and the right amount of spicy for me. It offered a sweet and sour flavor. The fries were ok nothing to brag about I wish they had more flavor. The first batch of fries we had tasted like McDonald's and were soggy but the second batch was crunchy and hot. Overall the workers were friendly and didn't judge us for our big back activity. Would definitely come back.

The sandwiches here are definitely very tasty and there's lots of fun options! We tried the honey bird and the good feather, and both had very different flavors but were quite tasty. They're very messy and difficult to eat, and maybe have a bit too much sauce. However the chicken remains very crispy and is cooked perfectly. The fries here are crispy and the ranch seasoning on them really amps it up! A bit expensive for a chicken sandwich but it is definitely elevated. The service is good and the inside is very cutely decorated and clean. I'd come back, but it's more of a decadent once-in-a-while kind of place for me.

Just enjoyed the Classic and the Honey Bird at the food truck during First Magnitude's "Pints and Predators" event. Food was worth the wait. Hot and huge! Guys behind the counter were friendly and getting food out as quickly as possible. Event had a great vibe with birds, snakes and other animals for visitors to interact with.

Fantastic fries and creative sandwiches. Made it hard to decide what to order! Got the "good feather" which is garlic parmesan favored. Everything was freshly cooked and they clean up your plates afterwards. Friendly staff and overall a great option for lunch or dinner.

Literally the BEST fried chicken sandwich in Gainesville, FL. Hands down! Try the angry bird sandwich if you like spicy food, it did not miss. It was so spicy and just perfect. The french fries are seasoned with homemade ranch flavor, and they were amazing too. Crispy shoestring fries are like in my top two. Wonderful hospitality as well, the staff was super friendly and helpful. Great customer service goes such a long way! If you haven't visited Germain's Chicken Sandwiches yet, don't sleep on them like I did. I honestly can't wait to try more of their menu! 5/5 stars - Highly recommend

The food here is insane. I have never had a better chicken sandwich. Their fries are always a super delicious accompaniment. I went recently for their brunch and it was to die for. I ordered their shrimp and grits and it was some of the best shrimp and grits I've had. All their staff is always super friendly and welcoming. The way they decorate the space is so cute! At brunch they also had music playing and it was great. Could not recommend enough.

The fried chicken sandwiches are always on point. However I recently explored out of this area and that their ribs. I think they might cook their ribs and then deep fry them. Omg ! They were delicious!!!

I decided to try out Gainesville's most talked about chicken sandwich spot, Germain's for lunch. When I pulled in, the location is next to a thrift shop called Flashbacks and parking was readily available. When walking in, there's trinkets and candles and other items that can be sold to customers. You are also welcomed into this baby pink aesthetic which I loved. The menu has a great variety from salads, apps, and chicken sandwiches - the main attraction. As I glanced over the menu, I wanted something with spice. Thankfully, the fries come with the sandwich. Based on the amazing host's recommendation - she stated to chose the honey bird. The honey bird comes on a brioche bun with hot honey, pickles, secret sauce, and a side of ranch fries. I also ordered the seasonal lemonade which was a strawberry peach flavor. I dined in and the restaurant is pretty clean. My food came out in pretty good time and I was in love with the presentation. The honey bird was dripping with hot honey and just looking like a warm hug on the plate. My first bite was pretty messy, but the brioche bun was so fresh and buttery. The chicken has a good flavor to it, with the combo of the secret sauce and hot honey giving it a sweet and savory flavor. I do however wish the hot honey was more hot like Mike's Extra Hot Honey level, I just really love spicy foods. The house pickles were delicious but the stand out for me were the ranch fries. Every fry was perfectly coated in this salty ranch seasoning and the fries were crispy and fresh. I must say I left Germain's very satisfied and already plotting my next meal there. I saw that they do have a vegan chicken sandwich option as well - so this place is vegan/vegetarian friendly. I definitely recommend checking out this spot if you are ever in Gainesville.

Amazing local business! The food is always piping hot whether it's packed or not. I came a few minutes after closing one night and said I could come back another time. She checked with the kitchen and not only were they super nice (and not annoyed about taking my order after closing), but the food was amazing as always. Made with love and care! I ate it too fast to get a picture. They also put on a friendsgiving for the community every year that's always a good time. Support this place and you won't be disappointed!

Words cannot explain how amazing these burgers are, it's the best burgers I've ever eaten. So fresh and the chicken is so crunchy, the bread is so good on its own as well. It does take a long time but it's fine since the burgers taste so amazing and fresh anyways. Workers here are joyous in my opinion as well, the place is small with an outside. I like the aesthetic and vibe of it.

Pretty good chicken spot in Gainesville. Definitely a cute restaurant with a speciality and focus on chicken. I got the original chicken sandwich and it was alright, although I believe the place was a little over-hyped from what i've heard. At the end of the day, it's just another chicken sandwich, and my main discontent was with the price. The chicken sandwich ran over $10 for one, but it's supporting a small local business, so it partially made up for it. Overall, I'd recommend trying it, but I think personally it's a little over-hyped.

A number of really great aspects of this lovely place that sets them apart from . . . basically anyone else. For one, the interior and little outside patio are just as cute as a proverbial button. Old skool diner vibes but so extremely neat, clean, and comfortable. Cute, but not at all fussy or coyly overdone like a lot of places trying to be cute or hip wind up. Then there is the service, the dude behind the counter was absolutely excellent, personable, and patient. I had come on my bike after a long bike ride but felt totally comfortable here yet there's something about the presentation and atmosphere alike that makes you feel it's both really inviting and also kind of low-key high class. I wanted something light and therefore not one of their famous chicken sandwiches today, so the dude behind the counter suggested their seasonal house salad and it did not disappoint in the least: indeed, it was one of the best salads I've ever had. Absolutely incredible, which I was not expecting from a chicken sandwich shop--I mean, who would be? So I'm very hype now to actually try one of their chicken sandwiches. So I'm both impressed and excited: this restaurant excels in every regard and just feels very nice and comfortable as well. I'll certainly be back.

First time visiting from Orlando, I was craving for some good chicken for lunch and this was the first recommendation on my list. I didn't have too much expectation but this place blew my mind away! I ordered the wings with half hot honey and half garlic parmesan, the wings was perfectly cook and the sauce was well-balanced but between the 2 flavors I would have to pick the hot honey as my favorite! The fries were crispy and flavorful though I like soggy fries(weird personal preference:) The interior looks pretty cute and the service was fast. I might stop by again before I head back to Orlando!

Well with Germain's it kept on showing up in my recommendations, so you know i have to try it out!! Traffic was a little crazy to get to the restaurant, typical Gainesville evening traffic, walked in, and was greeted by a young gentleman, as he was handling another order, took my order and we talked about how long they had been open,etc as this was my first visit. only been open a little over a year, and they have become quite the chicken hotspot!! I ordered some wings for my wife and i opted for the classic chicken to play it safe, and it comes with fries too. Ordered some extra fries for the wife, they weren't needed i got enough with my sandwich for 2!!! . the size of my sandwich was worth all the hype. We loved the food!! And i got to try some of the passion fruit drink..AWESOME!! We got ours to go , next time we may have to dine in. The feel of the restaurant , mixed with the music playing makes for a nice dining atmosphere. Definitely one of my top 3 chicken spots in Gainesville.

Germains impresses with its culinary offerings, especially the KFC and hot honey chicken sandwich, sticky ribs, and the standout birria egg rolls. Located conveniently, the ambiance is welcoming with comfortable seating and commendable staff service. A must-visit for a delightful dining experience.

Germaine's is an absolute gem in Gainesville. The food is amazing, the service is beyond what you would expect, and they even have a little patio area that is fully fenced in and great for kids. We don't even eat chicken, but you can get any of their sandwiches with tofu. I've never been disappointed by anything we've had here, and generally have been very very happy with anything we've tried. We have been using Germaine's as one of our restaurants that we take out of town guests to and the only complaint we've ever received was when of our French speaking friends accidentally ordered the Angry Bird not realizing that it is covered in hot sauce. The descriptions on the menu are all very clear and accurate to native English speakers. Dante is usually at the counter and so sweet and great at his job. I highly recommend the good feather sandwich and the Brussels sprout salad, which is actually more like roasted Brussels sprouts (with cheese, lemon, And Cesar dressing.)

Visiting Gainesville we always enjoy coming to local establishments passing over all the chain restaurants. This restaurant is located in a small area outside the main part of Gainesville. This is a superior chicken sandwich why you ask because they use dark meat which is juicier they pilot high and offer a friendly service to go along with it. We opted to sit outside, lovely outdoor place to sit with the dog separate entrance from the dining room.

HELLO! this place is STELLAR! I am not a huge chicken sandwich fan but when my friend showed me this menu, I thought it was so unique that I had to try. I got the Hot Honey chicken sandwich and I got a glimpse of Heaven. it was so DELICIOUS!! the fries are delicious as well and the atmosphere is stellar!!

We went to Germain's on their 2 year anniversary! Food came out after a reasonable amount of time. I had their honey bird chicken sandwich and it was really delicious! There was an ample amount of honey sauce. I'm also just a big fan of brioche buns! Their fries were thin and crispy which I loved! We sat outside and overall it was great vibes!

This place is supper cute, modern, and relax . It has a dog owner area to eat. Super hip decore and fantastic service. Now don't expect to be sited. It is a pick up your stuff at the counter and walk to your table. They will however bring your food to you. The combinations for the food to me sounded somewhat odd, but they work. It is different but it works. Flavors are fantastic. Everything was well season.

Cute establishment, but also the chicken sandwiches were "off the chain" good! Crispy, hot honey with ranch fries! If you want guaranteed good food and top notch hospitality this is your place. Just go, no regrets! I'm coming back to this one for sure!

I visited from Miami and saw the excellent Yelp reviews. I'm so glad I stumbled upon this gem, because I was in for the best chicken sandwich I've ever had. I had The Good Feather and the chicken was juicy, tender, and garlic parmesan sauce was delectable. I washed it down with their passionfruit tea which was also very good. I was greeted politely by Wilda at the register who took my order. I was trying to decide between The Good Feather and Honey sandwich and she made the right recommendation even though I'm sure the Honey sandwich is delicious. The food came out about 10 minutes later and I devoured it. Jeff came over to check on me and I told him I've been to many great spots in Miami where I'm from, but this place was by far the best! Germain's appears to be family-owned as it is very homie, yet has a modern feel with the pink walls decorated in cool artwork, while smooth and silky R&B classics play in the background. It's very spacious with a large countertop bar and quite a few tables. Next time you're in the Gainesville area, make sure to have the incredible chicken sandwiches at Germain's!

I heard a lot of great things about Germans. However, I think it's overrated. The food was okay. The fries were extremely salty and the sauce on the chicken sandwich and the wings were nothing special. It's very pricey for it to be a chicken thigh sandwich. The service wasn't that great either. The guy who delivered the food was nice and had a pleasant greeting. However, the host wasn't very pleasant, helpful, or friendly for first time guest. Also, I'm not sure if it was the owner, but he appeared to be, he walk right by us multiple times and didn't greet us, ask if the food was okay and even crack a smile. We were sitting at the counter. I wouldn't go back.

I recently visited Germains and loved its fantastic atmosphere both inside and outside. The addition of a checkers game while waiting for my order added a playful touch to the experience. Dining outdoors was thoroughly enjoyable, with friendly and accommodating staff enhancing the overall atmosphere. The ranch dressing was a highlight--delicious and perfectly buttery. However, while the diverse options for chicken sandwiches were intriguing, the actual sandwiches fell a bit short for me. I got both the angry bird and KFC. The bun and chicken were okay, lacking that wow factor. Nonetheless, the variety of flavors and styles adds an interesting twist to the menu, even if it didn't completely blow me away.

Absolutely love this place. It's a super cute place with a lot of seating and the decor is minimalistic but suits it so well. I've been here multiple times now and the service has always been amazing! They give you a jug of water when you order and the presentation of the food is beautiful. The wings are phenomenal and so are their speciatly drinks, both alcoholic and non alcoholic! I've had a couple sandwiches and although I do prefer their wings, their sandwiches are really good too. I honestly wasn't a fan of their ranch fries the first time I had them but I gave them another shot and they were yummy. I highly recommend going here! I'm giving four stars instead of five because the first time I went, some of the wings seemed to be undercooked in the center, and another time I placed a to-go order and it took a long time to get. However, it seemed like they were prepping a food truck to go to an event and I wasn't in a rush so it was fine!

I tried Germain's some months ago and just so happened to catch them again at the Haile farmer's market recently. It has an overall simple and elegant style, which I absolutely loved. I had the angry bird and a peach tea I believe, because they were out of the passion. Everything was phenomenal. I was raving about it all because so rarely do places get it all right. The tea was excellent, the fries were perfect, and the chicken sandwich was bursting with flavor and the right amount of heat. The others in my party had the Korean Fried Chicken & the Good Feather and we all cleaned our plates. Looking forward to coming back to give their brunch a try and hopefully try their passion tea.

Germain's has progressed and grown from a food truck into its own brick and mortar location on 8th Avenue. The location is friendly, and they have outdoor seating, which makes it a great location to visit as well. There are other places along 8th Avenue these days supplying other forms of entertainment, and the parking lot outside sometimes has a food truck to give a variety of selection. However, we are not here for the food trucks or other entertainment, except to note that they are there and that there is more reason to come to Germain's, since there are other things to do outside of getting food. The food at Germain's is chicken based, and they do a great job of having different varieties of food based off of chicken. I went for a dish they call the Good Feather, which turned out to be an excellent sandwich. I have also had the Angry Bird, and while it is good, I think I prefer the Good Feather despite my love for spicy food. The Angry Bird is based off of some chipotle, and I am not a fan of the smoky flavor that chipotle adds. So the Good Feather is definitely my go-to for sandwiches here. In addition, I got the Chicken Birria Eggroll, which I also enjoyed and continue to purchase. Very tasty, and really kind of a meal on its own if you aren't famished. The sandwiches come with fries, and they are decent as well. Definitely worth the visit!

Gainesville needs yet another damn chicken sandwich place....... but Germain's deserves to exist because their sandwiches are UNIQUE, EXCEPTIONAL, and by far MORE DELICIOUS than anyone around here. Seriously. They also have some fine ice creams. They are locally owned by friendly, hard working people who actually care about their product. Let the fools line of up for that unethical yuck they call Chic Fil A. They can have it! I'll go to Germain's for food made with care. They have take out but you can also eat in which is actually kind of cozy but I personally like to eat at home so no one can see the mess I make devouring that sandwich like I haven't eaten in three years. HEAVENLY!

Oh. My. Goodness. A chicken sandwich has no business being this good!! After dropping my car off at Firestone to get new brakes, I took a stroll to Germain's to try their chicken. I've heard of this place before but hadn't had a chance to try it. Thankfully it was within walking distance. I had The Good Feather chicken sandwich, and it was amazing. The Garlic Parmesan sauce it came with perfectly matched the Ranch Fries as well. I'll be coming back with my wife and kids.

Super cool atmosphere, great staff, fun music. They also have unique ice cream flavors. I had the classic sandwich and thought it was a perfect balance of chicken, bun, and sauce. Also, the fries were killer! So good! The three guys that were working were so personable and attentive. They provided really great customer service. They don't stop moving and get food out of the kitchen very quickly. We probably waited 10 minutes, if that, for our food. We arrived about an hour before closing and with about 30 minutes before they closed, there was a line out of the door. It's not a huge place, so seating is limited. They do have some outside seating as well. There were people eating in their cars because they liked it so much. This is definitely a new place to check out!

I love Germain's! I have been rocking with them since they were a food-truck! Their brick and mortar is amazing and pink...my favorite color. They have the best chicken sandwiches I have ever had in my life! Also their egg rolls are bomb! They do Sunday brunch on select Sunday's and the photo below is from brunch. I had the steak and egg tacos and not pictured is their amazing melt in your mouth corn bread! The service is always great and the ambiance is chill! Did I mention the restaurant was pink!lol If you haven't tried Germain's yet, what are you waiting for?!

The staff was very friendly and the service was extremely quick. We were here on a Saturday night and were still able to get our food very fast. The Korean fried chicken sandwich was tasty but oh so messy. You might want to ask for extra napkins. Their fries were dusted with a ranch seasoning and very crisp. With plenty of parking and speedy service, this is a great choice if you aren't sure what you want.

Went here with a friend for the first time last week. I'm not a fried chicken fan myself but after hearing so much about Germains I decided to give it a try. My favorite thing was definitely the ambiance, it's a very cute place, it feels nice to eat in here, chat with a friend and have a very pleasant time. It's the perfect place for a date, both romantic or with friends. The food was incredible, very flavorful and not at all greasy (which I was concerned about). I was very impressed by the flavors of the sandwich and had no idea a chicken sandwich could taste so good. I ordered the one with bacon jam (rooster deluxe) and my friend got the one with blue cheese (blue bird) with a side of the garlic Parmesan sauce. To finish off, the fries were some of the best I've tried, thin crispy fries full of flavor. Overall great meal, perfect portions, and unexpected flavors.

I always trust him when it comes to food recommendations, and this place did not disappoint one bit. The location was convenient and bright, and I loved the outdoor seating options. I ordered the Honey Bird, as I am a huge fan of hot honey, and the mixture of sweet and spicy! The food came out fresh and hot! The fries were perfectly crisp and the chicken sandwich had this amazing crunch to it, yet was so moist on the inside. Literally melts in your mouth with so many flavors! Overall, LOVED this place and the experience! Definitely a must visit!

One of my favorite spots in Gainesville! Their chicken does not leave you feeling greasy or gross after eating it like other fried places do. My personal favorites are the W.T.Flock (3 piece tenders) with the Korean bbq or hot honey sauce and the Good Feather Sandwich. The inside is so cute and they usually have a record playing. Nice seating options outside both shaded and in the sun. The food comes out fairly quick and their pick up orders are also done very fast. Highly recommend this place for friends and family new to town!

Very good chicken sandwiches. In fact, if you don't like the chicken here you must be accustomed to the gutter trash they serve at McDonald's. If that's the case, stick to your microwave dinners such with your lack of taste buds and leave German's to people that actually enjoy favor.

One of, if not the worst, chicken sandwiches my girlfriend and I have ever had. I took 3 bites tops and had to throw it in the trash as well as my girlfriend did. It was very disappointing as we heard good things and were excited about trying it for the first time. Overpriced for the quality, you could go to McDonalds for a better chicken sandwich (yes, that bad. We actually did go to McDonalds after). I would not recommend Germains. Edit: We paid $40 for two sandwich meals and 2 sodas. The soda was piss warm, and the chicken meat was a weird texture and discolored. Not to mention, the very small portion of fries that came with it were overcooked.

Fresh bun Hand trimmed, cooked to order, hot chicken thigh Crisp lettuce, yum yum tomato slice, homemade style pickles Special mayo sauce And did I mention those seasoned hot fries??? "can I get some ketchup with that?" As staff was placing order in front of me... he brought it right away.... Nicely decorated, dog friendly, interior and exterior building. What more could I of asked for??? Oh, I know...my pooch was missing but I'll bring her next time ‍‍‍

Germain's is my favorite chicken sandwich joint in all of Gainesville! They have delicious, juicy, crispy chicken sandwiches- my favorite is the Korean fried chicken sandwich for it's sweet and spicy sauce. Their chicken tender and fries are also great- you're able to get the tenders tossed in a sauce of your choosing, and to no ones surprise, I also got those tossed in the Korean sweet and spicy sauce. They also have miscellaneous apps on their menu. The only one I've tried so far is the warm Brussels sprouts Caesar salad, which I thought was a great spin on a classic. Definitely one of my favorite places in Gainesville, can't wait to come again!

I have heard *so* many good things about Germain's. We were finally able to try it as a to-go order when family was visiting. The fries were probably the best I've had in town. Just that perfect crispy, fried deliciousness. We also all loved our chicken sandwiches. I wouldn't say it "rivals" chick fil a - I would say these are two different types of chicken sandwiches. I would come back here for lunch any day!

Their food is so good. I come for every brunch and at least three times a month. Worth every cent. Their hot honey is

TLDR: Cute spot that has low value offerings in a town already overcrowded with chicken sandwich/tender options. Tofu substitutions and vegetables on the menu are a welcome surprise. Brussel sprouts were 9/10 but Buffalo Bleu sandwich was 4/10. Fries were 2/10 and forgettable ($5 for a side), and there's no a La cart option for sandwiches (fries included in sandwich price). Customer Service: 5/5 I ordered takeout today from Germain's. I always get to the restaurant 5mins before my order is supposed to be ready just in case it comes out early. When I arrived the cashier said my order had just come out of the kitchen and wished me the best as I left. Food: 2/5 I ate 5 mins after pickup and all the food was warm. The brussel sprouts were awesome (9/10 MUST TRY)! The Caesar dressing on them was super mild so as to not overpower the dish and the sprouts themselves were cooked to perfection. I'd return to Germain's solely for this appetizer. The Buffalo Bleu Sandwich was edible but disappointing (4/10). The dressing coated the whole sandwich making the bun soggy and the entire sandwich fall apart. From the first bite both my hands were covered in sauce. The inside of the chicken was rubbery. It made for a messy affair that wasn't particularly yummy at all. The fries were meh (2/10). There was a Parmesan seasoning on them but it was hardly noticeable. Not worth the calories nor the price. Overall Germain's left a lot to be desired. It's messed up they force patrons to order a side with their sandwiches (default fries, no discount for no fries, or sub a side salad for $2 up-charge), especially since the fries aren't good. I'll be back when friends want to go, but I'll stick to the brussel sprouts. If not for those delicious morsels, I would've given Germain's a 2/5.

I don't understand the positive reviews. When you're craving a chicken sandwich you have a certain expectation of what the meat texture and appearance should be like. I ordered the angry bird right off the menu and the meat in the sandwich did not look or taste like chicken. It's certainly not chicken breast. Not sure what meat they use, but you could find a better sandwich at any gas station. I left a nearly full plate on the table, so hopefully they got the message. I vote with my wallet, so not going back!
