We were visiting from out of town for the 4th of July and our boat had issues with idling and shutting off. Not only were these folks able to get us in within a day of calling… when no one else was… or if they did they wanted to charge us an outrageous “emergency” fee… but they got the issue fixed in two days. The most impressive thing was they started with the basics and worked up from there without starting at high priced fixes first. Our Tahoe is running like a champ now and we didn’t have to take out a second mortgage to pay for it! My only regret is these guys aren’t here in Virginia!! They’d be my go to guys for sure!

The only thing my daughter wanted for her Sweet 16 was to rent a boat and spend the day on Canandaigua lake. I grew up here, but we come all the way from Baltimore each summer. Thanks for helping make her day memorable!

This was a first for me. Never rented a boat before haha. Well, actually, my brother rented it for all of us. We were all home for a small family reunion. Twas the first time all of us were home together since before Covid. My dad passed a few years ago and we all couldn't be home for it bc it was during Covid. So this was actually the first time all 5 of us kids were home at the same time. It's a trip that had to happen for sure. So getting the boat for an afternoon was super nice and a special day for sure. We got a pontoon boat for the afternoon. My brother and his wife rented it for 6 hours. I can't remember the exact price, I wanna say $450 for the6 hours, but don't quote me on that bc I THINK it may have been a tad more expensive. It's definitely a little pricey, but compared to their competitors, German Brothers definitely had the better price. The so-called "inconvenience" of renting from the vs the other(s) is German Bros is located out on West Lake Rd as the other is located in town...which is why I think they can get away with charging more at that place. The guys at German Bros were fantastic. Super friendly, super helpful...honestly don't have one bad thing to say about them or the business. For my first time experiencing one of these boat rental companies back home, I was definitely satisfied and even from my social media posts from that day and the days after our day on the lake, I referred like 5 people to this place and told them how much better it would be to go with them especially if they were worried about cost. You definitely save using German Brothers and these days, who isn't trying to save money any way they can? One thing to point out, you do have to pay for the gas for the boat and that cost is not included in the rental cost. You pay for the gas at the end of your time on the boat and I wanna say it's like a dollar and change more than what we'd pay at the pump ourselves. Then again, wait, haha, not sure what kind of gas these boats use haha! Just know tho, you pay separate for the gas. I recommended this to 5 different people (as mentioned already) and I'd gladly recommend to 5 more, 10 more, etc. They're a fantastic company and they deserve all the business they can get. A great experience overall. A bit expensive but German Brothers was top notch. New boats, good instruction, and a great three person tube made for a memorable day. We're planning again for next summer, Lord willing!

There isn't a parking lot but the marina is on a safe slower road. Very happy to be on the west side of the lake where there wasn't a ton of traffic. We had our boat on time. Many of us on the boat have boating licenses. Felt better about the in and out process. Very clean boats. Very helpful staff. Bathrooms are a plus!

Rented a pontoon from here yesterday. The boat was immaculate and the people who work there ( Mike, Payton and Alex) were beyond polite, professional and helpful. If you are looking to rent a boat on lake Canandaigua, I highly recommend German Brothers Marina

Wonderful place to rent a boat on Canandaigua lake! They provide a large pontoon (~10 people) in pristine condition. For a full day it's a bit over $400 which ended up being a great deal. The pontoon is fast enough to pull a tube, which we purchased from their store. Staff and owners are incredibly friendly and accommodating. We wanted to switch our reserved date to a warmer day during the week and they did so with no hesitation.

Wanted to buy a new Cobalt. Made a phone call and 2 emails later, I bought Cobalt 220S. German Brothers were easy to work with and made a very fair deal. Highly recommend the German Brothers Marina!

Was very satisfied with the boat we rented for the day & with Alex who set us up for our departure & return at the end of the day! The boat was spotless & the customer service was great! Even though the weather was not the best we would definitely go back !

I read the two reviews but didn't have a choice as this was the only marina that had a pontoon boat available. I couldn't have been more impressed. So impressed that I actually signed up for Yelp to correct the misinformation that I saw from a couple years ago. They couldn't have been nicer and the boat couldn't have been better. They buy new boats every year and then sell them at the end of the year. Our pontoon boat was by far the best pontoon boat that I've ever rented in any area. 23 feet long and a 90 hp motor. Had a great time on the lake with two families and got back a touch late but no problems. Simply a great experience. I'm not a local, I'm from Cincinnati.

Spent a great day on the water last summer with my relatives who rented a pontoon boat from German Brothers. We drove down an hour from Rochester to make our 9:15 appointment to launch, but were left waiting with another family because the staff who does the check-in was late to work! Everyone seemed to be pretty relaxed... We didn't get out on the water until almost 10 AM as a result of ms. Sleepyhead. Thankfully, the gentleman who did the boat overview with us said that we could have extra time on the water to make up for it. The boat was clean and comfortable, but we were slightly disappointed that the built-in speaker system did not work. Docking was a bit challenging because of all the boats that were parked for the night and our driver was not the most experienced, but an employee was kind enough to run around to hop on and finish docking us. The checkout process was easy and fast, which was nice after a long day. Overall a good experience.

I will only dock my boat at this marina! Staff very friendly and quick to get boat out on the water. Gas is fairly priced, and they are always happy to serve you!

BEST MARINA IN CANANDAIGUA. The staff know what they're doing and are super friendly. Kevin Freeman was very helpful and super jolly. 10/10 would recommend this reliable marina.

Great service! Honest and dependable. I have a boat and jet ski on the lake and they do all the service and winter storage. All my friends use them as well and they also have good things to say.

My wife and I bought a boat last summer and have been using dry storage at German Brothers. The guys are absolutely awesome with helping us out with tips and advice as I am still somewhat novice with boats. They're fast to launch and pull you out when you're ready to come in even during the busy times, and the owner is very friendly and always around. This was our first time using dry storage, and the crew at German Brothers have all been helpful and patient with teaching us, Steve even rode in the boat with me my first time trailering. They're quick to fix any start up problems on the spot, and they have great prices for maintenance and storage fees. They keep our boat stored in the winter and I expect we will be with these guys for years to come.

I have used German Brothers in previous years for a pontoon boat rental and always had a good experience. This year, I had to cancel my reservation after putting down a $100 deposit. Their policy is that they will refund your security deposit if they are able to rent the boat out to someone else. I thought, yeah right... like they'll be honest about that. But lo and behold, I called the day after the reservation and they were honest! My $100 was refunded to my card. I really appreciated that. Between that and good experiences actually renting from them in years past, I highly recommend using them.

DO NOT BUY a boat from this marina! I ordered a boat at the Rochester boat show on January 31st. I gave German Bros. a $5000 deposit check on February 5th. Due to some unforeseen family matters I had to cancel the order on Saturday, February 27th. Today marks 4 weeks that I have been waiting for my refund. I have spoken to one of the owners Rick German 4 different times. His excuses have ranged from him being in Florida to his brother telling him that he is crazy to give me a refund. In each of my conversations I have been courteous and professional, never demanding. I have simply asked for my money back. I most recently spoke to Rick on Tuesday, March 22nd. He told me he was flying home from Florida that day and he would have the check mailed on Wednesday the 23rd. I finally received the refund check on Monday the 28th.

What a wonderful place to be on so friendly and accomodating. Had my boat there last season-Hope to go back. Had a place for family to come and sit and have a picnic. Was able to improve on the dock as well. Everyone so friendly here. So close to everything. Beautiful Spot

My wife and I recently purchased a boat from a private owner who was storing the boat at German Brothers Marina. We spoke with Peter German and gave him a rough estimate of when we would be arriving to have the boat transferred to our trailer. When we showed up, Peter and his crew had the boat prepared and in the Travel Lift ready to load. They were very careful to get the boat correctly positioned for our four hour tow home. When it suddenly became apparent that the boat would not properly fit the trailer we had, rather than saying " tough luck, we've done our part ", Peter and his men spent the next two hours modifying our trailer so we could safely travel. We had to insist that we pay them for their extra time and effort. They were all genuinely concerned that we would have a safe, uneventful ride home, even offering to get us food for the trip. I've had work done at boat yards from Maine to the Chesapeake and I would honestly have to rate Peter, Steve, and the rest of the crew at the top as far as competent, friendly and concerned professionals.
