Yelp
4 stars for the quality of the meat. Highly recommend the chicken! It's shredded/cut finely, but with just big enough pieces to taste the juiciness of the meat. Reminds me of shredded fresh parmesan, don't know why; it has to do with both the flavor and a lightness about it.
However next time I'd probably enjoy just a serving of meat and French fries or regular pita. I got the OG Sandwich (mixed meat) for about $11-12. It's a generous portion & I had 1/4 leftover.
Since this is my first time trying this and I'm not sure if this is how its supposed to be, but the OG bread is CRISP. It reminded me of a pressed panini, but even more crisp, almost like a thick cracker. The waffle pattern is just a flat pattern & doesn't give it any texture. Didn't enjoy eating what was essentially a giant cracker sandwich. It's a 2-bite sandwich too- very thick with meat. So 1st bite- top bread and vegetables. 2nd bite bottom bread and meat.
The mixed meat is chicken & beef. I don't recommend the beef, it was a little gamey and reminded me of slices of (nicer) roast beef. The beef was lined in the sandwich first and then the chicken piled on top of it.
The OG comes with lettuce, tomato, red finely chopped red cabbage, a garlic dill white sauce on one of the bread, and spicy red sauce on the other. I wish there was extra white sauce, the red sauce reminded me of harissa- medium spicy actually. Needed less of that.
For some reason I was noticing all the architectural details of the sandwich; because I was eating a cracker sandwich... would have liked the white sauce on top of the lettuce, and the red sauce on the bottom underneath the meat. I feel like this would've tasted a little better, instead of a bite with spicy lettuce.
Apparently this is their 2nd US location, outside of the American Mall in New Jersey and I can see why people are excited about it. There was a steady stream of customers at 2pm.
The casual restaurant has about 5 tables and a bar & stools in the back. The design is modern, clean, & fun. High ceilings, music's a little too loud. Nice design of a open glass encased kitchen, so you can see all the kabobs roasting and your order being made. The place was very clean & staff was very friendly. There's 2 ordering kiosks near the door also, along with their counter.
Their branding is A+ ! The sandwich came nicely wrapped, in a triangle box, with branded napkins, a BRANDED handi-wipe, and paper tote bag.
I guess my 4 stars are for the quality of the chicken and the handi-wipe. LOL
