Gerry's Place

Great local bar. Many generations of family have owned the pub. Fantastic friendly people there just having a good time. Someone they get live local bands in there on Fridays and Saturdays after 9 pm. Typical bar food greasy and served hot belly up to the bar. Staff is a mix of old and new. Definitely will go out of there way to make your experience a good one.

I went to pick up food with my best friend and I witnessed the owner and a bartender being so rude to her. Had us wait for so long without any acknowledgment, but acknowledged a white woman who came in after us and when she asked to talk to the higher ups, the manager was also rude to my friend and made an excuse for his bartender’s behavior and why we never got acknowledged like everyone else. I encouraged my best friend never to visit this racist establishment ever again. Disgusting human beings who run this place. If you can ever call them that.

Excellent, great food, the staff is awesome. They have a wonderful bar and we stayed to listen to the live music. It has a real chill and friendly vibe. Will definitely go back.

Good place to hangout with friends and have a few drinks. Your typical pub atmosphere. Music and sport on TV. Food is pretty standard fanfare. Nothing special but they are good.

Finally tried out this place since it has pretty good reviews. Was craving a good burger so got a takeout out. Boy was it terrible. Burger tasted old, cold, and overcooked. I felt they just heated up an old patty. Bun was rock hard. Super disappointed. Never going back again…

We had an amazing experience here. We absolutely loved the nachos, it was great for all 6 of us to share. We are big cider fans so we were so happy to find it on tap, our favorite! And the band Toy Canon was so awesome! The night was amazing, if I lived closer I would definitely be here more often. Great job!

This place is a gem. Food is so tasty. Specials are outstanding. I do not know anyone who works here but we wanted a kind of outdoor fun spot and such good people who run everything. Love the atmosphere. Irish Cafe with the American food dump. Love love.

A friendly neighborhood bar. It doesn't feel intimidating to walk in, even if it's your first time. Staff is really kind and friendly. Everything is all good except the draft beer:(

This place was very cool! The atmosphere was nice, the wait staff was friendly, and the food was good! The menu had a lot to choose from at the right price. The bathrooms were very clean and our waitress was knowledgeable, helpful, and kind to us! I do recommend coming to this place! The place looks good, has great food, and the staff will kindly serve you.

Very nice varied menu items typical of relaxed bar/pub food. Lots of TVs in bar for sports fans. Service was good and food freshly prepared to order. Everyone had plentiful portions and some took leftovers home.

The turkey burger amazing and delicious the service is excellent and the atmosphere is fantastic I also love the strawberry coconut margarita very much :)

Used to like this place but twice last night the bar staff took money off the bar that was CLEARLY not a tip. I bartended for close to ten years and would never pull the bullshit I witnessed last night. When confronted they couldn't even look me in the eye to tell me it was honest mistake. Such pettiness as I over tip since I was in the industry for years...My friend who knows the owner reached out to him and little apology was offered and he claimed was only a few dollars...not true.

This bar is Place like no other. They have a covered outdoor area, indoor horseshoe bar and a private room for a small party. With it's own parking lot you don't have to worry about hunting down a spot. Only thing is it's located in the middle of nowhere. If I lived in the area I would be here every week. The food looked tempting, but that will be for next time.

Went to Gerry's place after a book signing. Everyone was friendly on arrival.Had the chopped Mediterranean salad with shared French fries and onion rings. Friend had a quesadilla. Food was very good, and plentiful. Fries were especially tasty, and my salad was delicious and quite filling. Nice looking place with a covered outside area as well. Will definitely return.

We came to Gerry's Place once before for drinks. We needed a place to go for Father's Day and we wanted to try something new and didn't want anything too fancy. I made a reservation, it wasn't necessary. They weren't very busy, they actually had the dining room closed and we had to eat at one of the high top bar seats. To drink, I had a spicy margarita. This is what I had last time, and it was amazing. It was one of the best I have ever had, it was so fresh, not too sweet and the perfect amount of spice. For an appetizer, we had chicken fingers. They were different, they had a corn meal on them. The honey mustard was really good. For an entree I had the corn beef reuben, and it was really good. One person in our party had the BLAST sandwich with chicken and she said that it was delicious.The fries were delicious. The portion sizes are large. There weren't many servers, but they were working so hard and very attentive. We will definitely be back!

After several years of driving by this place, we decided to give it a try for dinner. Cool place! The restaurant is nice, clean and a nice place overall. The hostess was really sweet and our waitress was very attentive. The food was very good. Open face steak sandwich and the classic fish and chips. We would definitely come back again.

Fine place to go. Dark inside and that's good to get away from too much sun. Beer is cold. Burgers are hot. More interesting things to try. Went twice with the family. Will stop by again.

What a great place! After passing Gerry's about a thousand times since they opened, I finally stopped in. I was greeted by Dave, the bartender, and seated in a nice table area set off to the side of the bar. The bar has a really nice Irish pub kind of feel and there were good times being had by many without it being excessively noisy.i had a fabulous French onion soup followed by the best open steak sandwich I have ever eaten! The soup might just be the best I've had too! The meat was quality cuts and cooked to perfection. It came smothered in onions and mushrooms and some fabulous seasonings. Even the in house Cole slaw was fabulous. I will be regular to Gerry's from now on and I encourage anyone else who likes really good food in a casual setting to make there way there!!

Came here for happy hour with coworkers and the food portion was huge and delicious at the same time. Ordered a big plate of nachos and as you can see from the picture, it came humongous and delicious at the same time. It was filled with tortillas, cheese, beef, bacon, peppers, and other delicious ingredients. We also ordered chicken wings and they were well made, delicious, fresh, and generous sizing. Additional sauces were provided: blue cheese, ranch, avocado, and other. Overall experience was superb!!!

Let's start with atmosphere, if you're looking for a bar with food this place is it. If your looking for a restaurant ... I would go someplace else. The only tables are in a large bar area or outside. When we went there was one bartender waiting tables and the bar and it was pretty busy. She looked like she was struggling to keep up. The NY strip was good, cooked well and flavorful, the sides were good as well. I really enjoyed the spinach. However, the arugula pizza was the complete opposite. Lack of flavor, not crispy enough for how thin it was, and had an excessive amount of balsamic on it .... Don't order this. Overall 2 out or 5.

The food and service are second to none. I have been here several times and just last week was the first time I went for Sunday Football. The place was hopping and the food and staff were great. Gotta go again soon.

Overall **** My son and I just wanted to try something new so we followed Yelp here, we ended up both completely confused and delighted by Gerry's. The name I think is pretty terrible and tells you nothing about what you are going to get but maybe that's part of what is going on here. I went in with very low expectations but came out already thinking of when I could return. The crowd was not my style but that could change based on the night, the service wasn't great but not for lack of effort but it was the food and the value that made this a solid 3.75 Stars in my weighted grading system. Setting *** There is a lot to like about Gerry's, which I believe is going for a old Irish Pub feel with its use of ledgestone and wood and stone floors. There is also a large outdoor seating area in front for warmer months. The bar area is big, really big with a huge square bar dominating the space. I love a square bar for interaction and people watching and this one could probably seat 50+ people around it. The only downside to it is that the bottles are built up too high in the middle so you can't truly see across the expanse to the other side. What else makes a great bar area for me is pub height tables and Gerry's has them in spades. There is a pub height banquet that wraps around the entire outside wall, while not incredibly comfortable it does make great viewing. I took a quick walk around the rest of the place and while there is a separate dining room it didn't look like it gets much use as it was closed on a Monday night anit looked more like it was just used for party's or storage. So why only 3 Stars? There are some minor issues; the crowd and mood for one. Granted this was a President's Day Monday but walking in and hearing strange 70's dance music and the patrons all seemingly well into their 70's made me wonder what I was getting into. There were one or two younger people at the bar but they seemed heavily intoxicated with one drinking Coors Light with a lime, that one struck me as really odd. While the bar was pretty full with seniors the tables were generally empty save for the two tables that appeared to me as divorcee kid swaps going on. So all together it wasn't exactly a fun lively atmosphere. There are TVs but unfortunately they are buried up underneath the enormous bulkhead over the bar so if you are going there to watch sports you better get a seat at the bar otherwise you won't be able to see anything. Service *** At 5:00pm the lone bartender was simply overwhelmed. She was very nice and tried but if I didn't get up from our table to go to the bar and get our own drinks and order the food we might still be sitting there. At 6:00 a younger bartender came on and he was also very friendly and hustled to catch everyone up. There was quite a brisk takeout business going on as well. Food **** Now here is where I was really shocked. While I was taking my aforementioned tour our food was delivered. When I returned my son was half way through his burger (nice manners), he looked up at me and said "I can't believe how good this is", he is a tough critic but he gulped that down and kept repeating just how good that it was. I had the Bangers & Mash, it's rare to find so I almost automatically order it when I see it. My plate had four, deliciously thick crispy and juicy sausage along with an absurd amount of mashed potatoes. Even the onion gravy was well conceived, although a little too thick the onions still had a nice crisp bite to them. This wasn't true 5 Star dining but we both found it rock solid pub food that we thoroughly enjoyed. One minor item I didn't like is they served my G&T in a quasi rocks/wine glass. It felt ridiculously to drink out of and I would have much preferred a pint glass. Value ***** Bangers $14, Burger with fries $10, top shelf G&T $8!!! For that quality of food this place is the epitome of value!

Not a bad bar. I enjoyed a couple of apps and some beers there as I was passing through this town. The place is big with an upper and lower bar as well as outdoor seating. I was there early so I don't know what the crowd is like during the evening but as I was leaving there were a few younger people there. The service was friendly, the food was good and the beer was cold, so I would think the place has potential. I would try it again if I was in the area.

I think I have found my local bar. We walked in well into the first quarter of the Giants game and there was still a bunch of seats available on the bar side. There's a bunch of TVs on the bar side playing local as well as customer requested games. Audio was on for the Giants game. The restaurant side also looks very spacious and had a TV or two. Bathrooms were clean which I find great for a bar. We were greeted right away. They have all your mainstream domestic beers as well as some Irish beers. They have a small craft beer offering but loved that it was local. At the time we were there, they had Kane Overhead IPA, Alementary Oktoberfest, Brix City Porter Authority and Defiant Fake News They have great Sunday food specials. Either 2 for $18 or 3 for $25 on most of their appetizers. Originally they are priced from $11-14 so you get some savings. The ginormous nachos were true to their name but they were very good and crispy despite all the cheese and toppings. Roasted garlic wings had great flavor. Would have loved for them to be a bit more crispy but overall both appetizers that we tried were very good. Looking forward to many more Sunday visits!

So always starting with the good news first, the food here is AMAZING!!! Buffalo wings, Loaded Potato Skins, Mozzarella sticks, burgers and all in-between was fantastic. If you're looking for a quick and amazing meal, you should definitely drop by here. The reason I removed two stars was mainly service. Our server was sweet, but she barely checked up on us, and we eventually had to wave her over a good few times despite us being right in-front of the bar (we were definitely being patient). Normally Id understand, but between the long conversations with the locals and the pub being almost empty, with maybe 8-10 people total I was hoping to at least get a check up without me getting someone's attention. When we ordered our beers, my father, strangely was given Coors Light when he ordered Stella. The waitress tried to defend it being Stella but we know our beers well enough to tell the difference between the two (Stella Vs Coors Light). Thankfully she did get us another after we insisted there was a mistake, and it was Stella the second time over. Would I return? maybe but only at the late afternoon shift, anything from mid day and earlier I definitely wouldn't suggest.

The food, the food is delicious. The drinks are generous and the service is super friendly

A solid Irish pub with good food, and service. Michelle, our lunchtime server, was most attentive. I ordered the Irish Quesadilla. My friend a Buffalo Chicken wrap. Both excellent.

We were big fans of Cormack's on Broadway in Norwood back in the day at this location. Since then, a string of other forgettable restaurants (Jose O'Brian's) came and went. Gerry's Place has been there since 2017, but we've never tried it. Today we took a chance and ordered take out for lunch. I'm happy to say we were pleasantly surprised. We ordered a shepherds pie, which my adult son quickly gobbled up. It looked delicious. A nice portion with fresh ingredients and the mashed potatoes were nicely toasted. My wife had the Gerry's Chopped Salad, which was beautifully prepared and very fresh. She loved it. I ordered the Chicken Parmigiana entree with penne. Again, a very nice portion. The chicken cutlet was crunchy, yet tender, had ample melted mozzarella cheese, all complimented by an unexpected zesty marinara sauce. All the food was nicely packaged and the prices were reasonable. While the menu isn't extensive, and that may be a good thing, they have a nice selection of starters, burgers, salads, and Celtic classics like fish and chips and bangers and mash, and also pizza. We are looking forward to our next lunch or dinner at Gerry's.

Gosh this place has been so many different things. We came when it was the BBQ place and I just remember how sticky the menus were. We stopped by this new place just for a cocktail. Sat at the bar - great rectangular bar ... the way a bar should be. Very comfy with the fireplace and all. People next to us ordered food - some HUGE plate of nachos and some pretzel thingamabobs. Looked amazing and if I had had one more drink, I might have reached over and grabbed one - We will be back!

Was just visiting the area and watched the Super Bowl at Gerry's and had great time.  Good food, great staff and fun atmosphere.  Great TV viewing set up.  A fun friendly crowd.  Thanks Gerry's for a fun night. (PS They also provided a free halftime buffet of food goodies)

Ordered the chicken parm for dinner. My favorite meal on the menu. Service is fast and efficient. Meal was hot and yummy. Welcoming and friendly bartenders and servers. Always a good time going to Gerrys. Always treated well and feel like family.

Have passed by this place several times . Recently new to me but decided to stop in.sat at the bar. Everyone was super friendly and attentive. Just had beers and apps with the wife but I must say everything was on point. We had the samepler platter and ... It was very good. Everything tasted .. not like it was cooked in old oil. Very tasty. Draft beers were awesome. They have dogfish if that's your thing. That's my thing so I appreciated it. Owner came by, asked how things were going. Great guy!!! And no I did not know him prior. He even comped some beverages. That was a super plus in my book. I'm Joe shmo, didn't know anyone there. Check this place out if your in the hood. You won't be disappointed. And no , I'm not Irish either but the most important thing is... It's a great place too hang and eat. I would definitely go back.

Favorite neighbor bar. Great drinks, excellent service and awesome music. A fun place to watch a game or go with friends for a few drinks and a great night. The bartender Dave is one of a kind!!! He's has a friendly, good natured way about him. He's so helpful all night, remembers our names and really makes sure you are taken care of. He makes it the best experience every time you're there. We have thrown 2 private parties there and David made sure everything went so smoothly all night. He's a total star. Game changer LL

Live band music at local neighborhood. It can't be better to just drop by to enjoy the great atmosphere and mingle. Beer tastes great as well.

I kind of want to keep this place to myself! Some of the best fries I've had in New York, and a super satisfying burger. The service was so good too -- had a really friendly wait staff. Will 100% be back.

Great outdoor seating setup to bring your dog. They were very accommodating and even asked of the pup needed a bowl to drink out of. The food and drinks were outstanding and the waiter was awesome as well! Definitely recommend for a night of good grub and drinks.

Found this place randomly- and so glad we did!!!! My Son, Ben, and I, were in search for a place, could have been any place, with descent food- and we were hard pressed to come up with any- locally-we saw Gerry's and decided to give it a go- well- it was the best lunch/dinner that we could remember- Ben had this amazing grilled chicken salad- it was so carefully layed out in bowl, with great appeal- and as for meself, a burger with coleslaw and pulled pork-, with fries the presentation was mouth watering- the flavor was exceptional, high marks- cooked to perfection- I tasted Bens salad- So fresh, incredible- on the way out- saw , who we think is the owner- he was so cordial and making sure we enjoyed our meal- We will be back- SOON!!! HIGHLY RECCOMEND

This place is the absolute best. The staff and owner are extremely friendly and courteous. The menu has a great variety and offers several gluten-free options. The atmosphere is very relaxed and cozy, offering an environment you're happy to be in.

Horrid music and staff, had to walk out. Female bartender on Sat. night stares at the ceiling for five minutes, while flipping her hair, and pacing, then walks out without looking at customer waving for service. Music jumps from thrasher metal to rock then back to thrasher metal. Worse, there were two male bartenders looking down at their phones while the female flips her hair, paces, and doesn't look at customers. Even worse, when I told the manager, he just goes blank, and defends the staff to my date. This place was dead on Sat. night and I couldn't order even order a beer on tap for 20 minutes. I watched three bartenders flipping hair at the ceiling or idol and texting for 20 minutes, manager thinks this is normal. If you want to ruin your Saturday night date, visit Gerry's Place.

Never had a bad meal and never had a bad drink. Never sat in the dining room but the bar area provides great service. great local spot to go to for dinner or for drinks

Great time as always here. Food is always good. So is the atmosphere. We usually sit by the bar , but we ended up getting a table just because it was packed. French onion soup was great and so were the quesadillas.

Great local place for burgers and drinks. Overall, they have a nice selection on their menu. Also a good place for large groups. Its our local go to when I am not cooking.

This place is awful. Terrible food and terrible service. Surprised they are still in business. Everyone was so mean, not nice people

So, I went here, not really feeling like having a big appetite so I got their special Spinach & Endive salad. The salad was very bitter and not at all refreshing like a salad should be. It felt like it was all mixed up with the endive, spinach, pistachios, strawberries, onions, Parmesan cheese and the dressing was some bitter lemon vinaigrette. I do not recommend it to anyone. And I only ate the strawberries after a couple of bites (it wasn't a big meal) and then told the waitress if I could send it back because I did not like it. She told me that she would take it off the bill. Bill comes. She charged us for the salad. So I approached her and asked if she could take it off, the reason why she wouldn't comp it was because I had eaten half of it and the strawberries and the pistachios. Ok. Big lie. But whatever. I understand it's Friday night so then I asked if she could discount the salad because it was not worth $10. So she takes the check runs off to a door in the corner slamming the door behind her and stays there for a while. Then she comes out saying that she can't take it off her manager isn't even there she had to text him. Ok. Another lie. You really think you're good at bluffing lady? anyways my friends and I caught her the entire time mouthing me off and calling me a "bitch" which was amusing even after I thanked her for her terrible service and attempts to weasel her way out of correcting the check. Then she kept on insisting to make me a salad to go and I honestly kept telling her no. I wasn't taking anything else after that scene. Even after we tipped her 18% she was not very pleasant, but I believe in giving the benefit of the doubt since it was a Friday night. But doesn't excuse her from being mean just because I did not like a salad and she questioned why I didn't like it as if she was the manager herself, making my friends at the table uncomfortable. That aside, the place is cute and food is decent. It's a good casual wear.

Local cafe with really good food and excellent service. Quaint little place in Old Tappan that caters to local clients. Really enjoyable !!!!

This location has been through few different restaurants and concepts. I think this time has fell in the right hands. Hospitality is what you notice right away, great service, from the bartenders and Gerry himself walking around and making sure everything is to the liking. I had food a couple of different times and both times was very good.

Really enjoyed my first visit here. Both food and service were excellent. We had the seafood chowder, steak quesadilla, Mac and cheese and Shepard's pie. All of the dishes were really well done especially the shepherds pie. They have a light selection of craft beers and their few specialty taps were worth trying. I had a local IPA from Kane that I don't see in too many places . We will be back and bring family and friends. I hope this restaurant makes it as it is far better than the 2 prior in the same location.

Love this place!!! Been there for a fun night out, a great meal, live music and birthday parties. Recently hosted my husbands 40th birthday there. The service is amazing and the place is truly one of a kind. Dave one of the bartenders is top notch. He goes out of his way to service you and we were lucky enough to have him bartending at my husbands birthday. So many people told us how great the bartender was!!!!!!!

We had our dinner at a table in the bar area. Outstanding service by our waiter and busboy. My Caesar salad lettuce wasn't crunchy...it was wilted. The pretzel appetizer was yummy. Chicken fingers appetizer very good. The hamburger came out minus lettuce and tomato. When we asked for lettuce and tomato for the hamburger, the kitchen sent us a tiny piece of lettuce and a tiny tomato slice....which was not acceptable. I would like to reiterate that our waiter was excellent as was the busboy....very impressive! We will be back. Hoping that they improve their food.

Aweful food . I've tried several times but, no luck. The salad bar is horrendous! The dining room is always empty. The hamburgers are on wonder bread rolls.
