Tremendous experience overall. Bread service was sort of needed as the restaurant was quite busy but was enjoyed quite a bit. Both the ravioli and the lamb ragú were incredible. Wine and drinks were great and our server was more than willing to offer suggestions or pairings with our meal. I enjoyed the environment quite a bit inside as it definitely harkened back to a time in the past. I would absolutely return here during my next trip to Richmond.

Gersi is at the top of the pack if you are looking for a fantastic Italian restaurant in Richmond. Cozy and crowded. Great vibe. There are a few outdoor tables. Definitely make a reservation. The service was excellent and very responsive - extra shout out to Dan, behind the bar, who took care of our every need. The wine list is modest, and perhaps at the top end of pricing, but they do have a selection of some nice Italian reds. Every dish was delicious - and the portions are generous. Their burrata was perfect consistency with great taste. Don’t miss trying some of their homemade pasta dishes - the rigatoni was amazing, and the calamari with black fettucini out of this world!! We will definitely be back! Save us seats at the bar, Dan!

I absolutely love Gersi! This family owned establishment is perfect for a date night or dinner with friends. The food is impeccable and the staff makes you feel like you’re at home. The inside is quaint and cozy and bursting with life! this past time I got the mussels and tiramisu! Both absolutely delicious! It’s a must go to in richmond!

loved my experience! me and my friend shared two of the specials, the black linguine and the pappardelle lamb ragu and both were phenomenal! I reheated mine the day after in a pan with some chili flakes and it was just as good! as someone quite particular about espresso martinis, i LOVED theirs! no cream added into the martini but the froth on top was smooth and creamy on its own just how i like it! would recomend this place to any and everyone! also our server was very friendly and attentive!! we believe his name was david but we cant remember exactly, all in all, great spot!

Gersi is one of the best restaurant atmospheres in RVA. Quaint, full of energy, and always classily festive! But on all three trips, the food is missing something. Mushroom bruschetta was barely sautéd. Squid ink pasta’s sauce lacked seasoning. Just foundational things that make the food lackluster. Go for drinks and an app before another meal.

Came here one weeknight with co-workers as we all like Italian food. The reviews for this place were great and making a reservation was easy the same day, just a few hours ahead of time, which kind of worried us, as we figured if they were that good, it wouldn’t have been so easy to get a same day reservation for four people. Well, we were wrong – this place was amazing! Service was excellent and friendly. The décor and atmosphere was romantic, quaint, and dimly lit. The menu was loaded with so many appetizing items! They make their pastas in-house and they do a fantastic job with them. The chicken parm was really good, pounded thin, but still very flavorful and moist. The sauce was excellent too. Their table bread was accompanied by cannellini beans with a spicy herb dressing, these were incredibly good! They have avery nice wine list too. And clearly we lucked out with the reservation because by the time we left, they were packed, inside and outside. Definitely suggest stopping in, but make a reservation!

Gersi is hands-down my favorite Italian restaurant in Richmond. The food is always amazing! If you go, do yourself a favor and get the chicken Parmesan, but here’s the pro tip: upgrade the pasta to the spaghetti al Limone. Trust me, the combo is out of this world, a server recommended it to us before and we always get it. Cozy atmosphere, definitely need reservations. It is tight in there, like a NYC restaurant (like you would see in a movie), great service, and consistently delicious dishes. A must-visit!

Older small building downtown. I'm all for mood lighting, but it was way too dark. We got there early and it was very loud due to staff still setting up. Waiter forgot to bring silverware after he took it away. No one came back to ask how our food was. There was a long hair in my chicken parm. They offered to remake it, but by then my experience was ruined. Spaghetti in the chicken parm lacked flavor. Cocktails were okay. I asked for a mule because most of their seasonal drinks were gin, bourbon and tequila. I won't be going back.

Gersi made for a really nice date night spot for me and my girlfriend. It has that intimate, cozy vibe with dim lighting that really sets the mood; perfect for an anniversary dinner. The space is definitely on the smaller side, so it can feel a little cramped when it fills up (which it does quickly), but the ambiance still works well for a night out. Even finding a spot at the bar would be nice. The service stood out and was really attentive without being overbearing, which added to the overall experience. We tried the chicken parm and the lemon pasta, both solid choices in my opinion. I'm already thinking about what else I want to come back and try on the menu. They've got a decent drink selection to round it out, too. Overall, Gersi was a solid spot to celebrate something special. If you're looking for an intimate Italian restaurant with good food and great service, this is worth looking into

We went to Gersi after the much spoken of hype. Friday night and the small corner restaurant was packed and we thought that only met good things. The sound inside was unbearable, people borderline screaming at each other and at one point they cranked the music just a bit more. While we screamed our order to our server and attempted to talk over the food, I remained surprised that only the dishes with asterisks had homemade pasta. I figured why else be there than have that and went with the ravioli pomodoro. We were started with focaccia slices and a white bean/oil/seasoning to eat it with. Just okay, the bread was hard and sorta cold. We ordered the fried goat cheese, that came on a bed of dressed arugula and pear slices. It was probably the only good thing we had that night. The ravioli resembled perogis not just in shape but in thickness and dumpling-esque texture. The sauce was nothing to fawn over and the lemon spaghetti ordered by my friend left something to be desired. So confused when even trader joes has properly shaped and more delicate ravioli. This was handmade with no pasta machine intervention. We requested an order of broccoli, something green to offset the carbs, they were greasy and varied in doneness with some pieces past it. And did I mention each plate we received was missing a chunk out of it-chipped doesnt do the injury justice. The ginger margarita tasted like a mocktail with sad bits of dried up ginger hanging on a cute stick. We couldn't leave fast enough and when we did our ears thanked us for it. It was disappointing, we won't be returning or giving the brooklyn location another chance.

How do you enjoy a hot pasta dish while eating al fresco in the summer? The outdoor dining shouldn't have NEVER been an option on such a hot day- simply put: don't open up tables when the outside temps at 6pm are hovering close to 100°. Especially for a larger group, when multiple plates were on the table and the flies just hovering around our food - something they are likely aware of given the presence of the fly fans on the tables. Given the option or advanced notice that we'd be sitting outside in +95° heat, we would have taken our business elsewhere because our older parents were with us. I had an industrial fan at full speed right by my chair, which only made the experience worse- hair flying everywhere, loud fan noise and hot air being blown in our direction. We ate our food as fast as we could - lesson learned (we should have never stayed). I sent an email to the restaurant, but ZERO reaction or response from them for both people in our party who reached out.

Wasn't expecting it to be so busy on a Tuesday night but after the meal, I understand why. Gersi is very intimate and cozy a great spot for smaller groups. We sat at the bar which was such a great experience. Our bartender was attentive and spot on with the recommendations. I started with the cherry margarita which was refreshing. We also got the mushroom bruschetta and lamb meatballs. The bruschetta was ok but paired with the meatballs - it was perfect. The highlight of my meal was the chicken parm with lemon spaghetti. Amazing!!! Still thinking about it! Best combo ever! Gersi was a great experience and I will definitely be back!

Came here with a group of six people and really had a lovely experience. The service was awesome, really attentive and checked in the right amount. We started with two salads: Fried Goat Cheese and Apple, and Arugula and Gorgonzola. The fried goat cheese salad was really good, with the apple cutting through the creamy cheese. I'm not a big blue cheese fan so the gorgonzola did not appeal to me, but others really enjoyed it. For mains we all shared plates of the Rigatoni Vodka and the (off-menu, but our server assured it could be made) Cacio E Pepe. Both pastas were super delicious - the rigatoni was actually pretty spicy, which we liked, with lots of parmesan heaped on top. The cacio e pepe was really creamy, the right amount of salty, with thick pasta noodles and again lots of savory parmesan on top. Overall a great experience and would easily return.

Went to Gersi on a Wednesday night and it was pretty busy. I sat outside for the night ambience and browsed their wonderful menu. I ordered a cucumber purée mocktail that tasted pretty fresh. I only wanted dessert so I opted for the grilled peaches with ice-cream. The dessert is usually accompanied by walnuts sprinkled on top but I had them hold the walnuts. My tastebuds were in awe! The peaches were warm and fresh. I think it's a seasonal dessert so if you're interested, then you must hurry before the summer is over! Enjoy!

This little gem has beaten the odds and has lasted in this tucked away spot on Davis and Broad for some time now. It was bustling on a random Tuesday night, even with sidewalk seating. I got the rockfish special and my friend got the lamb pasta special. Both were delicious and service was terrific. Small. Quaint. Perfect intimate date spot.

Had the pleasure of dining here a few times now. Its a cozy italian restaurant with a bar, tables, and a few outdoor tables. They enclose the outside tables in the winter to stay warm. Definitely make a reservation if you can otherwise you can be in for a looong wait. They do have a text system for making reservations that a real person answers so that does make it easy. Everything I have ever ordered here has been delicious, especially the carbonara! Great drinks, all the staff are very friendly and accomodating. I don't know how they can work in such close quarters sometimes so all the more respect to them! If I really want to have a delicious meal, celebrate something, or have a fancy date night without much effort, I would pick Gersi.

The espresso martini and spaghetti al limone are must tries as this cute little spot! The espresso martini was soooo smooth and dangerously good. The spaghetti was so bright and refreshing. Although, I wish they provided more bread to soak up the delicious sauce with. I also tried their spicy vodka rigatoni which was solid. Not my favorite variation of the dish, and there was far too much sauce left on the plate in my opinion. I wish the sauce was a little thicker so it would stick to the noodles better, but delicious nonetheless. The complimentary focaccia and little bean salad it came with was nice. However, I found the focaccia to be pretty dense and while it was a solid piece of bread, I certainly wouldn't have called it focaccia. The beans were fun, but I honestly would have preferred a classic olive oil and balsamic situation. Overall, I liked the place and I think it would be nice for a date night.

I love this place. One of the best Italian spots in Richmond. I dream of their lemon pasta with ricotta. Only miss is I've had some rude bartenders. Ambiance is very warm and cozy. Can get crowder quickly.

Wonderful Italian meal in RVA. Very cute little spot. Came here for a bday celebration on a Monday after going to their sister restaurant Uliveto (also a killer spot). Lovely cocktails, and the star of the show might have just been the fried goat cheese over arugula and pear appetizer ( I believe it was a special but they need to lock that down). We got three pasta dishes, all super solid, one complaint is the chicken definitely walked the line of being a bit dry. All around very good, lots of options and would definitely dine again.

Shockingly bad experience based on the reviews. Spent 90 minutes and $100 on two drinks and two pasta dishes. Roughly an hour was spent waiting on our order, and half the tab was spent on food so bad that it had to be thrown away. I would assume that this restaurant at one point was deserving of the raving reviews, but that day has long passed. Richmond restaurants consistently have some of the best staff I've ever seen -- this could not be farther from the case at Gersi. If you want an overpriced option to impress a date that knows nothing about food, this is the perfect spot for you. If you want a good pasta dish, go to any of the other lovely Italian restaurants nearby.

1/29/2025: A lovely spot for an evening out. Meg was our amazing server, so welcoming and accommodating. She had great recommendations that did not disappoint. The ambiance was cozy and inviting with several seating indoor/outdoor seating options. We enjoyed the fresh mozzarella appetizer and selected the spicy rigatoni with grilled shrimp and mezzi tagliatelle with meatballs and sausages entrees. Although everything was delicious there was not a wow factor. For dessert we each (yes I mean 1 dessert each!!) polished off affogato with a splash of Kahlua... now that was WORTH THE CALORIES!!

Customer service is always A1 ! Very accommodating and efficient. To tier good for sure . It's so cute and low key right in the heart of downtown. I will literally just grab dessert most times when just b passing by . Definitely one of my frequent places to eat!!! Cute date night or just regular night to get dinner !

From the outside, Gersi appears to be a small hole-in-the-wall, but the food, drinks, and service will surely blow you away. As you step inside, it's as if you just walked into a restaurant in the heart of NYC. Gersi did a wonderful job of capturing the charm and uniqueness that I'm sure their Brooklyn location embodies and brought it to us here in Richmond. It's quaint, moody, and has cute vintage chandeliers. I thought all of the cocktails I had were wonderful. I started with an espresso martini which was delicious, and then the Aperol Spritz, which was one of the best I have had - perfectly crafted. I did think it was odd that it came with a slice of grapefruit, rather than orange, but definitely not a deal breaker at all whatsoever. My husband had the Italian Paloma and the Gin Basil Smash, I liked them both but of the two, I would opt for the Gin Basil Smash. They serve complimentary focaccia with these marinated cannellini beans, which I know - random? But it is actually SO good I was thoroughly impressed! We also tried the classic bruschetta to start, which only really consisted of fresh chopped tomatoes and basil on top of grilled toast and you could really taste the freshness. It was really tart after a while, so we ended up leaving some on the plate. I would order it again, but would also be fine skipping it next time. For dinner I had the Spicy Rigatoni Vodka special and my husband had the Vongole. They were both delicious. My husband finished his plate and I had only a few bites that I ended up taking with me. I will say - you definitely have to like spicy to enjoy the dish I had because it is REALLY spicy. It was starting to wear on me towards the end. But overall, it was yummy! Next time we have our eyes on some other pasta dishes to try. The noodles are handmade in house and cooked al dente - put simply, perfect. We also enjoyed the Tiramisu for dessert and left nothing on the plate - it was great! Very creamy and chocolatey. The service throughout our visit was prompt and friendly. Our waters remained full which I always appreciate and we didn't have to wait for anything including our food, drinks, and other requests. We will definitely be back and cannot wait to try some other options on the menu at Gersi!

We had a nice special occasion meal at Gersi. They seated us in a cozy bar table and service was good throughout our meal. Prices were fair. We got a number of salads and vegetarian pastas. Everything was delicious, and portions plentiful enough for sharing. We would be return. Great for a date!

One of the best meals we've had. The appetizers, particularly the kale salad and the artichokes, were amazing. The homemade pasta is delicious. The flank steak was done perfectly and was very tasty. The cocktails were varied and done well. The servers are very attentive and the ambiance is cool. A bit cramped, but fine. Definitely worth a visit!

Great spot - was packed on a Wednesday and somehow we were squeezed into a table. And happy we were. Tight quarters, people packed into little tables. Kind of dark, but in a pleasant way Friendly up front, quick to get us water and drinks. We loaded up on apps. Tried the garlic bruschetta, Buffalo mozzarella, shishito peppers, and bread service. The Buffalo mozzarella with tomato and basil was delicious. Perfect tomato. Really enjoyed it. Garlic bruschetta was meh. Single piece of bread with a pasty topping. Just bake garlic cloves! Would be so much better. Peppers were good and excuse to have a vegetable. Dinner was the lamb ragu and bolognese. Both ok. Not particularly impressed by either one, but good all the same. Had the grilled peaches and ice cream for dessert, which was great. Service was attentive, not particularly chatty, and kinda just all around. Overall just a good experience

Delicious food. Recommend a house made pasta. Great atmosphere. Portions insane. Oh. And dirty martini that was fantastic.

At this quaint little spot, the food is definitely the star. I'm talking main character. You will find prettier more aesthetically pleasing atmospheres, but this homemade pasta and the quality and flavor behind every recipe is unmatched. Perfect spot for a date or a girls night or a catching up with family over dinner. I recommend, parties of four or larger because you will want to taste everything. Be sure to make a reservation ahead of time... And if the weather is anything other than freezing, choose the patio. Definitely choose the patio. Inside can get rather crowded and loud very easily. I highly recommend eggplant rollatini, the pappardelle, and the squid ink pasta. The black kale salad was easily top 3 of the best kale salad I've ever tasted. For dessert, you will absolutely want the tiramisu & panino gelato - it's a literal ice cream sandwich. I wasn't a fan of either cocktail, so next time I'll have the wine.

So delicious! We went with family for dinner. Everything was so delicious. We started with the bruschetta and the grilled veggies which were wonderful - really good olive oil. I had the tagliatelle bolognese (which was made house) and my husband had the clam pasta. We enjoyed it all. The location is small inside, but I loved the intimate feel and the ambiance. Our waiter was great and lots of good suggestions. We will be back.

The food was amazing and the service was also. The only negative was that it was so loud we couldn't enjoy the time there.

This resteraunt is one of our favorites in the city. Last night, we had a 5:45 reservation at the bar.We walked in and this hostess greets us and says sorry and gets on phone and stays on there for 25 min!!!!There was a line behind us outside and she was on the phone instead of seating people. I would have asked the person on the line to please hold, while taking care of us there in person. Finally a waitstaff took care of us , while she was on the phone . This happened throughout the night and I thought this was poor customer service Once we got to the bar, cocktails snd food was amazing This has never happened to us before and she must be new

Fresh ingredients and homemade pasta the perfect combination! Menu changes seasonally which is a plus. We really enjoy Gersi, the service is usually pretty good Most portions are a good value. The best Tiramisu ever! It's a little loud inside and the tables are crowded which is where I removed a star. Booth for 4 adults is cramped and tables along the wall are much to close together +1 Service +1 Food~Taste/flavor/quality +1 Presentation Atmosphere/vibe +1 Value

Uninspired, meh, cramped space, very weird service. They kept bring plates before clearing others, terribly timed, had to ask for flatware. It was just so odd. Bland food, over priced. The entire staff seemed thoroughly uncomfortable and it just killed the atmosphere.

We ate outside at sunset. They graciously changed our seats to reduce hot sun exposure. Service - Reception and waitstaff were exceptional. They could not have done a better job. Our server, Christian, was as good as it gets. Food - We started with the Black Kale Panzanella, which was delicious and an excellent choice for two hungry people. We then shared the Eggplant Sauteed with Fresh Tomatoes, Homemade Tagliatelle Bolognese, and Pasta al Limone but with homemade Papperdelle. Every single dish was very good to excellent, and we would look forward to ordering each again (that's our high praise level). We shared the Vanilla Panna Cotta with Chocolate Sauce for dessert, and yes, also scrumptious. Even the coffee drinks (decaf latte and decaf cappuccino) were exceptional, and trust me, we know coffee. Drinks - we really can't rate the bar as we've each only had one drink from there, but my Aperol Spritz was very good, and my wife loved her cocktail, but I don't remember which one it was. We had a superb meal and will be returning. Notes: The "outside" seating is literally on the sidewalk so people are walking by while you're eating. Didn't bother us but might not be for everyone. The inside looked crowded and noisy, but can't offer an educated opinion. The one negative (minor) would be that the cannelloni bean accompaniment they give you with their excellent focaccia bread was bland. Fresh bread with quality butter or a tangy olive oil concoction for dipping would have been better. All in all, a great time! We'll be back.

Let me start off by saying that I really love their sister resistant, Uliveto, so I was excited to try Gersi! To me, it's a little hole on the wall and they could work on updating the inside. My partner and I ordered the Roasted Garlic Bruschetta and we ended up getting that taken off the check because we hated it. It was drowned in oil and just was not good. We replaced it with Traditional Bruschetta , which was much better, but the whole thing was drowned in tomatoes. For my main meal, I ordered the Tagliatelle Bolognese and my partner ordered Chicken Parm. Neither of us really enjoyed our entrees :( and they also forgot the side of broccoli I ordered. Overall, I was really disappointed with my first time experience here but I will say our server was very nice. I'm not sure if I'll come back to Gersi, but instead I'll just make Uliveto my go to.

The food is absolutely a 5/5 stars. My friend and I ordered the orecchiette and caramella pastas to share. The caramella is filled with asparagus, ricotta, Parmesan and lemon in the most delicious brown butter sauce. This was a really unique pairing of flavors that I really enjoyed. The orecchiette was rich and full of flavor. The sausage had a really good depth of flavor and I couldn't stop going for another bite. The tiramisu was very good and our cocktails were great. The reason I took 1 star off was that we made a reservation and it was a really hot evening. The reservation I made was for a regular table and when we got there the only table they had for us was a seat outside directly in the sun. The solution they offered was to move the table into the shad directly on the curb, inches away from the cars in front of the front door. It was still way too hot to eat outside so we ended up at the bar. The service at the bar was great, but it was also really hot inside the restaurant. Both my friend and I were sweating during the meal which does not make it very enjoyable.

This WAS my favorite restaurant in Richmond, with the BEST meal in Richmond, being the Skirt Steak... They got rid of it, which upset me... I went in when they didn't have my steak, but they had an awesome Chicken Parmesan ... Well, I'm happy to announce... THE SKIRT STEAK IS BACK IN THE MENU! Hopefully you can see in my face how happy I am.. Christian was our server, and he was awesome too! Thank you, Gersi for bringing my favorite meal in RVA back!

This place was nothing short of fantastic. I really commend the chef for the portion sizes on all courses. We shared a Brusetta and ceasar salad then we each got our own dish. I recommend this is how you order if on a date night. Our Cesar was very heavy on the olive oil and took over a lot of the flavor but still enjoyable. He got the carbonara and WOW it was the most authentic carbonara sauce I've ever had. You could taste the Parmesan. I got the bolognese and added ricotta on top. SHEEESH was that good. I do wish I stepped out and tried the pesto dish or another pasta dish but nonetheless I am happy with my choice. You can quite literally taste how fresh the pasta was and the TIRAMISU. Let's talk about that....it also deserve another WOW

Don't go, waste of money. pasta with red spicy sauce with Lump crab meat For $38.00. Large plate was heaped with pasta noodles that were lightly tossed with sauce. I saw no crab. After digging around under edges of noodles I spied a TINY piece of what appeared to me and everybody else at my table, to be a very Tiny chewed up piece of ? I picked it up with my fingers as it was too small to use a fork. I tasted it and it did have a crab taste. That was the only piece I found. If I had wanted a large heaping plate of speggetti (sp) noodles with hardly any sauce i could have made that at home for 5 people at about $6.00. 2 others ordered chicken parm and said it was just ok. Our party of 5 was crushed beside another longer table that had 6 Very LOUD people. We all had to yell to be heard. If 2 of those people had to get up and go to bathroom 3 of the 5 people in my group would actually have had to get out of their seats so those people could get out! I know, it was crazy. No one liked taste of bread. I was hoping for fried calamari for an appetizer but they did not have it. There are too many OTHER Italian restaurants in Richmond area that are a lot better, quieter, and actually have parking. 2 in our party came 20 min late as they had to ride up and down streets looking for a parking space. All 5 of us agreed we would not go there again.

We discovered Gersi during the pandemic and absolutely fell in love with it. For every special occasion, Gersi is first on our list. Since moving to VA in 2018, I have been skeptical of the italian cuisine spots. But Gersi has lifted my spirits. Delicious and creative cocktails. Fresh salads and crostinis. The Black Salt Caesar is a mist & the Lemon Ricotta Spaghetti is to DIE FOR. Everything is fresh and delicious!! And the staff is SO kind. Restaurant is small, so plan ahead!!

I sat outside and kind of felt a little bit forgotten but the food was decent I got the Bolognese I would like to try some of their other dishes but I definitely would go back

dinner from @gersi_rva. Truly the best Italian food i have found in RVA. The restaurants ambiance was so charming and welcoming. Our antipasti was the fig and prosciutto Crositini- which I'd order again and again. For entrees we enjoyed the chicken parmigiano and the pappardelle w/ wild mushrooms. To end the night we finished with their devine panino gelato with candied berries. Such a lovely meal RVA

Went last night with husband for date night and it was great start to finish! We are the type of couple that loves to sit at the bar and enjoy our meal, and Gersi is the perfect place for that. We split the black kale panzanella and the spicy rigatoni vodka special. Both were phenomenal!! More than enough for us, as the portions are large. The bread in the panzanella was a little too soaked from the vinaigrette, but thankfully they use great country bread so it had texture still. The spicy rigatoni was ACTUALLY spicy and I was heaven one of my biggest pet peeves is when people describe something as spicy and it isn't. It was perfectly spiced, salted, creamy...all the things. I have had pastas in the past from here that were slightly too salty, but that wasn't the case at all last night. Pure perfection! I also enjoyed their Brooklyn sour (take on NY sour) and it was so lovely. Service was great too, Lauren at the bar is the BEST and makes a mean cocktail! Definitely try out Gersi if you haven't!

I want to give 5 stars so badly because the food was AMAZING!!!! Buuuut it was a little dirty. There was a long hair on the bread that they give you (i didnt eat that obvi) and here was dried things on my first glass and plate. Aside from that, the service was kind and the food was fantastic.

A charming place that feels incredibly New York-y (I mean it's originally from Brooklyn). Me and my four friends went to try this place on a Saturday. We were lucky to get a seat outside because the place was packed. To be honest, I preferred outside. The inside was very dark and loud (adding to the NY feel). My friend suggested we try this place because their brunch was really good and we were all craving pasta. I saw a lot of positive reviews on the brunch, and am planning to come back one day to try it. Unfortunately, I don't think it'll be anytime soon. Although fun and with plenty delicious Italian options, the food felt just ok to me. This being said, ALL my friends loved their food. So please note, people love this place, but I just found it to be ok. Here's what everyone got (we all shared bites too) : Bruschetta: Didn't do much for me, our group loved it. I think I would've preferred a different bread. The tomatoes were fresh and a yummy start to our meal Ravioli w/ Butternut Squash w/ Brown Butter Sage Sauce: Saw homemade pasta and immediately ordered. The butternut squash filling was yummy and done just right, however, the pasta itself fell flat for me. As for the sauce, I wanted more sage flavor, but it felt more like a gravy. Spaghetti Cacio e Pepe: My friend was really happy with her choice. She liked the way the pasta was prepared. I liked how lemony it was, but it didn't move on from there for me. For Cacio e Pepe I expected more of that peppery kick or cheesiness, but there were neither. The creamy consistency was yummy in this though! Homemade Tagliatelle Bolognese: My friend enjoyed the pasta and the sauce! Just what she was craving. Black Linguine w/ Sautéed Calamari: Two of my friends got this and finished their plates. I personally find pasta and seafood hard to master. I find the pasta tends to be too bland and tries to suck in the seafood flavor, but ends up making it more bland. This dish did that for me. But again, two people vs one really liked it! We had a great experience. They were accommodating and our waiter was kind&patient with all our questions. Like I've written, the food was just ok to me, but I will be returning for brunch one day.

I was very excited to finally try out Gersi and it didn't disappoint. Restaurant is small so make sure you have reservation. Inside is nicely decorated kinda shabby chick, it is a bit dark, tables are placed pretty close so this is not good for intimate romantic dinner, it also gets pretty loud with music and people talking so at times we had a hard time hearing and understanding our server. There's a patio but it's more like tables set up on sidewalk so you're basically sitting right next to parked cars. We were seated promptly at the booth table and our server greeted us right away. He was very nice and attentive throughout our dinner checking on us frequently. To start we ordered Gin Flower Fizz and Gersi Manhattan both pretty good, gin fizz was lightly sweet and refreshing while Manhattan had a kick. We had couple of appetizers: Fig and prosciutto crostini - big slice of grilled country bread slathered with ricotta and topped with prosciutto and sliced sweet figs and drizzled with balsamic - crunchy, creamy sweet and salty - it was to die for! Mozzarella di Buffala appetizer was good too, big ball of fresh mozzarella with sliced tomatoes, basil and balsamic vinegar! They also bring out complimentary plate of sliced bread - focaccia and some kind of country bread with beans that are a little spicy but tasty! For our entree we had: Grilled polenta with prosciutto, pickled fennel and Parmesan cheese and balsamic - it was pretty good, polenta was creamy and a bit smoky, could've used a bit more prosciutto and I could've done without balsamic bc pickled fennel brought enough acid but over all I liked this dish. We also tried grilled branzino - two big fillets topped with pesto looking sauce, fish was moist, flaky and delicious, it comes with side of dressed greens so we also ordered grilled vegetables platter that has eggplant, zucchini, tomatoes, asparagus, beets and broccoli all lightly grilled, it could've used a bit more seasoning and eggplant was very bitter but rest of the veggies were good! To finish our meal we had tiramisu that was all tiramisu should be and chocolate lava cake with berries and whip cream that was very tasty with gooey chocolate center and berry sauce! Cappuccino and espresso were good too!

I want to preface this by saying the food was phenomenal, but my lower rating is due to time management and service miscommunications. My partner and I had a reservation for 8:30pm on a Saturday evening. I can understand that sometimes service runs behind and i don't mind waiting 15-20mins at ALL for my table, in fact this is a usual occurrence at the sister restaurant Uliveto. However, this evening we waited over 50 minutes for our table (that we had a reservation for), with promises of drinks/apps getting comped. I guess the front did not communicate with our server about how long our wait was because after we were sat our server was not in any rush to serve us. We waited 30 mins AFTER SITTING for our bread... even though we were ready to order/placed our order 5 mins after sitting down. Overall, I'm sure this was just a fluke and I can understand them being busy, but as a restaurant with a brand and reputation like Gersi I was just shocked at how everything was handled. Will only be doing takeout from here from now on.

We re-visited for my daughter's birthday dinner and everyone really really liked the experience. The space is still small and with a party of 6 we fit snuggly into the front corner. We ordered a few appetizers and drinks to start. The appetizers came out fast and they were delicious. Drinks took a little longer and for some reason my DIL had a hard time getting her mock-tail. It eventually came out midway through her meal. Other than that we had no issues. Everyone left with a to-go box....they definitely make sure you leave full. I've already recommended this place to many friends and coworkers. I'm a fan.

Great food really enjoyed it I had the spicy Sicilian highly recommend it. Appetizer was the mozzarella with tomato and cheesy garlic bread, which was awesome

Gersi is always an amazing experience and a place I would highly recommend. It's a quaint little restaurant with lots of movement. The staff is so kind. We sat at the bar and had a great time chatting with the bartenders and getting their opinion. The food was amazing as always. We got the grilled veggie platter which was delicious. It came with a variety of vegetables with big salt flakes on it. Highly recommend for a date night, girls night, family dinner, or anything!

Went for dinner on a Wednesday night. At 6pm the restaurant was quiet but picked up quickly to be pretty loud and busy by 7. The atmosphere felt quaint but elevated- a great spot for an occasion or small group dinner but a little small for a bigger party. It would be hard to hear (and see the menu once the lights went dim!) with more than 4 people. The service was great. What I got: Drink - Gin basil smash: really good, strong drink. I would get it again! Roasted garlic bruschetta: was expecting tomatoes but reminded me more of garlic bread. Still really good, just not what I was expecting from bruschetta. A good size to split between 2 people but a little small for 4 Spaghetti limone: still thinking about it- absolutely delicious. I usually go for red sauce at Italian restaurants rather than creamy sauces but I'm so glad I got this- the quality was there and it had so much flavor - get the ricotta on top! Lava cake: pretty small but delicious way to finish the meal.

There's a lot of great reviews for this restaurant, so maybe I went on a bad day (a Saturday), or luck didn't pan out, but I was not as equally impressed as my fellow reviewers. We had a situation where 8 of us were placed in a very cramped area inside but we asked them to move us outside, and they were able to find seating for us. The food wasn't that spectacular and we paid $98 for a whole lot of nothing. My friend had the lasagna and there was barely any noodles, mostly cheese. The short rib pasta was disappointing too. The rigatoni Siciliaana was a bit bland. We weren't even full after our meal. They weren't able to split the checks, so we ended up paying a lot more. I was looking forward to this restaurant because of the great reviews, but it did not exceed my expectations. The owner and his nephew were super friendly and attentive but I think it was one of those scenarios where the restaurant was too packed and we didn't get the best outcome.

We made reservations here for a friend's birthday and it was fabulous. The ambiance is lively and warm, and I will say though we enjoyed it, this is likely not the place for you if you don't enjoy being cramped. The food was delicious, I had the vongole linguini and it was delightful. Portions are on the larger side for pasta, and prices are a little bit steeper than the area but still reasonable. Waitress was quick and nice. Even the bread course was delicious. We all got cocktails and, while I loved the presentation and I still enjoyed it, I'd get something else next time. Would definitely still come back, our friend felt so celebrated. Good wine list.

We dined at Geri's tonight and received excellent service from Meg. She was always available to serve us. I had the Mezzi Rigatoni Ragu. I was very delicious and a great portion. If you are interested in great food, great service and great atmosphere please eat at Geri's! Thank You Geri for a wonderful dining experience.
