5 stars isn’t enough! I recently took my partner partner to Sushi & Sass at Get In the Kitchen for their birthday and were completely blown away by the experience! Jason (the owner) was welcoming, fun and was a great teacher/host for sushi-making. He guided us through the process and (like any good teacher) allowed us the opportunity to make mistakes and offered assistance/advice. It was so much better than those cooking classes where you just listen to someone for a couple hours about every little piece. The sushi we made was delicious, plus it was empowering to create something we typically order out! Tirrany Reigns provided the “sass” of the evening and we immediately loved her hilarious attitude! She was so engaging and even assisted us with sushi demo and pointers. Her numbers were so funny and extremely entertaining. All in all, 12 out of 10 stars and I am excited to go back! Oh and we also loved how it was a social event with strangers who quickly became new friends! Try it, you will NOT be disappointed!

I attended the “Get in the Kitchen” event, advertised as a Chinese cooking and comedy night, for $185 total for two tickets. While the concept was promising, the experience fell short of expectations. The egg rolls were delicious, and the dipping sauce was a highlight, but the timing felt off. We didn’t eat the egg rolls until over an hour into the event, and the stir-fry wasn’t served until nearly 9 PM. Serving the dishes together would have made the experience feel more cohesive. The stir-fry itself was just okay—recognizably Chinese, but not particularly flavorful or memorable. The shared cooking setup meant participants worked together on group portions rather than making their own meals. While gloves were provided, I noticed some questionable food handling, which made me uncomfortable. I ended up watching over the food to try to control contamination. One moment stood out negatively with the instructor. While passing out gloves, he skipped me entirely to hand them to the person next to me, even reaching over me to do so. When I called it out, he claimed, “Oh, I’m sorry, I was just grabbing more,” which didn’t make sense. After that, his check-ins asking if we were okay felt insincere. Many participants didn’t even want to cook by the end, and we also decided to leave early as we were ready to wrap up the night. Overall, while the egg rolls were great, the timing, group setup, and some of the instructor’s behavior made the event feel overpriced and disappointing. I wouldn’t recommend it to those seeking a polished and enjoyable cooking experience

What an amazing experience! I booked a cooking class at Get in the Kitchen with my team for a fun team bonding activity, and it totally exceeded expectations. From the moment we walked in, the staff were incredibly welcoming and funny, creating a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. We learned how to make pasta from scratch (!!) and two delicious sauces. The chef was patient and informative, guiding us through each step with clear instructions and helpful tips. Not only did we learn valuable cooking skills, but we also had an absolute blast. The whole experience was elevated by the generous spread of wine and charcuterie we enjoyed throughout the class. And the highlight? A blind taste test competition that had us all laughing and bonding over our (sometimes questionable) palates. Get in the Kitchen provided the perfect recipe for a memorable team outing. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a unique and delicious way to connect with colleagues or friends. Five stars!

I organized a private party with Jason at Get Me in the Kitchen. I have to say it exceeded all my expectations! Jason was a great host and really accommodating to work with. He worked with all my allergies and being vegetarian, he fully worked with that as well. All my guests had a wonderful things to say and this was such a unique experience. Food was AMAZING! We made our own lasagnas. Highly recommend taking his class for a fun night out or organizing a party there. Thanks again for a wonderful time Jason!

Google
Get in the Kitchen was AMAZING! I was looking for an outing for our team coming to Chicago from out of town, that wasn't the typical sit down dinner and only chatting with those sitting next to you. This was interactive, fun and gave the team a chance to work together. We got great feedback from our team on how awesome this was. Staff was friendly and helpful! 10/10 would recommend for any outing.

Get in the kitchen is fun place to be and a super cute shop. I joined their monthly wine when it first started and it's been a great 2 years. It's something I looked forward to every month. We get to do wine tastings, pick up 2 wines and then cook a meal. It's a really good group and a great time. I've also gone to one of their dinner events - Sushi and Sass- where we made sushi and did karaoke hosted by a drag queen. If you are looking for a good time, need a bottle of wine, or buy fun gift, stop by.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️+ We weren’t sure what to expect and you don’t have to be either BUT YOU ARE GUARANTEED TO HAVE A GREAT TIME from beginning to end whether you go alone or with a group! We did dinner & dancing classes to celebrate a birthday and it was wonderful!!!

Google
Jason and his team are incredible! I have now been here twice through outings with coworkers and everyone had so much fun (which can sometimes be challenging with coworkers - and he made it happen)! He is extremely timely at answering questions, makes the entire process easy, and delivers memorable experiences. As someone with close to 0 cooking skills, he makes you feel comfortable and helps guide you. Plus, the classes are more-so focused on fun while you just so happen to be eating. Can't wait to get back here soon.

Jenn H.

Yelp
Had a team cooking event here--the food is just okay but the experience is fun! They try their best to make things lively from start to finish, but it can also feel a little frazzled and disorganized. Still had a great time.

Rob F.

Yelp
The pasta class was one of the best classes I have ever taken. I love the use of the ingredients and the simplicity of the class. It was a lot of fun to do for someone's birthday, and we will sign up for the monthly class. Thank you, Jason and the Queens you were amazing. Rob F

Yelp
Went to Get in the Kitchen for a bridal shower and had the best time. Jason, the owner, was there the whole time to provide instruction and assistance as we made bagels with schmears and chicken salad. The space is huge with plenty of room to mix and mingle while preparing food. What I really have to comment on is the quality of the equipment - I've done cooking classes before and the equipment was old and looked like it had seen a few things. At Get in the Kitchen everything seemed to be in great shape which made everything easier. Although it's a drive for me, I definitely want to come back for a drag event and hopefully some other cooking classes. Oh! The gift shop - they have a bunch of super cute stuff so even if you can't do a class it's perfect for hostess gifts or other fun kitchen items. Worth a stop just for that.

Yelp
A group of friends and I recently celebrated my Husbands Birthday here with a Pizza Competition and we all had a great time! Jason first walked us through how to make Stromboli, which were delicious! Though the dough we were using was pre made (so it had time to rise) Jason also gave us the option to make our own dough to take home. After Jason demonstrated how to roll out the dough and assemble we broke into 4 teams and worked together to each make a pizza with a secret ingredient (dill pickle). Once our pizzas were ready we presented them and Jason choose a winner. Was impressed at how creative our friends got. We also choose to add comedians, who were both hilarious! Besides being an amazing host and teacher Jason was also super responsive when getting our event scheduled and with all the questions we had. They were also very accommodating to the vegetarians in our group. Not BYOB but our party included a delicious welcome cocktail and they also have a great (and reasonable priced) selection of wine which we enjoyed. Overall a very fun experience for a group celebration!

Yelp
What a fun concept! We had a blast at Get in the Kitchen! Looking for a fun date night or something different to do? This is a very approachable and fun cooking concept. We made Chinese food and then there was a brief stand-up comedy show. We learned a few cooking tips and everyone was involved in making our meal. Wine is available for purchase. Jason is welcoming and entertaining! This seems like a great idea for a group occasion or private class. Mabel Mayday Mayhaim was hilarious!! Thank you for a fun winter evening!

Ashley F.

Yelp
I planned a Bachelorette party for my cousin with my family, women of all different ages, this weekend. First of all, Jason was super responsive in the initial planning stages, gave me affordable options for our group and answering all of my questions. Jason's class was fun, instructive and delicious. Jason ran the class and was extremely patient with my family who was over served at the bar we stopped at prior to the class. Everyone had a great time, the food turned out great and the drag queen karaoke was a hit! I highly recommend Get in the Kitchen for any fun event or date night...I will be back with my husband next. Thank you, Jason and the Get in the Kitchen Team!

Bob C.

Yelp
An excellent adventure in cooking. Had a birthday party there last weekend. Our large party was well taken care of when participating in the cooking of our selected meals. They have an extensive menu to select from for the cooking and eating experience.

Yelp
This place is a wanna be sur le table! Can't bring good wine, have to buy their cheap stuff. Went for a Valentine's Day dinner and dance and it was a disaster that we will be laughing about for ever. You "make your own" but then everyone's go in a pot and it doesn't follow you. We put ground turkey in small premade dumpling shells and pan fried them, as a couple had 5 as our "appetizer." Then we had 3 baos as our entree, they were the size of a sand dollar, we had an option for a side salad. Which was greens on a plate with bottled Italian dressing. Moral of the story, I asked for our money back, we left and went to go get dinner somewhere else. The owner Jason, is awesome and very friendly, but don't expect a cooking class. He refunded us, handled it well and customer service was great. Not a bad experience overall, we had fun, but that being said $90 per person for what the "experience" was is a complete rip off.

Deborah C.

Yelp
We attended a double birthday party. What fun! Jason is friendly, instructive and taught us 4 tasty dishes: gyoza (Chinese fried dumplings), scallion pancakes with garlic shrimp and pulled pork bao (a purse-like, steamed Chinese dumpling). Fun to learn to make and tasty. Then we were entertainEd by John the magicIan and enjoyed homemade ice cream!

Marcia P.

Yelp
We went to Get In The Kitchen for a birthday party, and it was awesome! We cooked, we drank, we laughed, we socialized. It was FUN! So, If you're looking for SERIOUS, this is not your kind of place. If you're looking to kind-a-cook while having a great time and learning something new, this is DEFINITELY your place. They are personable, communicative, funny, and professional in a laid-back, way easy sort of way. There were 13 of us and every single one of us enjoyed the experience. I HIGHLY recommend Get In The Kitchen!

Shazeena T.

Yelp
I had a wonderful time shopping at this store! Dianna was very helpful and knowledgeable! I even got the chance to spin the wheel of discounts! I'll definitely be back in! The cooking classes with a spin look fun!! Thank you for my cookbook!!

AJ P.

Yelp
So much fun!! Cooking drinking and laughing. Will definitely be taking more classes! Don't miss out.

Laura G.

Yelp
What a great night of entertainment! My boyfriend, Dan, and I did a tapas cooking class followed by a Latin dance lesson. The cooking experience was well organized and thought out, tasty and they allow you to pair the food with beer or wine you can purchase on site. The dance lesson after (with an instructor brought in) was super fun as well - instructor really knew what he was doing and helped us amateurs feel at ease. Everyone had us laughing all night and brought the group of people together in such a great way to make connections. We'll definitely be back!

Jeremy B.

Yelp
Had a blast at a private party here recently with a group of friends. Get in the Kitchen calls themselves the "party school of cooking classes" and claims to be different than other cooking classes. It most certainly is, and in a good way if you're looking for a fun night out! The focus here is as much on socializing and having a good time as it is on the cooking. That being said, the owner/chef Jason is very knowledgeable and will walk you through some yummy dishes and teach you some fun tricks and skills. They also email you all the recipes after the class in case you were a naughty student and not paying complete attention. They're a brand new business so you can tell they're still working out some minor kinks and quirks, but as the event organizer for my group I found they were very flexible and went out of their way to make sure that our needs were accommodated and everyone had a good time. Jason was very responsive to all my inquiries and his communication/direction was super helpful in planning my event. In addition to private parties they have a calendar of "public" events on their website and a store selling cooking utensils and gadgets. I highly recommend you "get in the kitchen" sometime soon!

Anthony P.

Yelp
We went for a friend's birthday to make lasagna. The theme for the evening: Totally chaotic. The owner spent the evening yelling confusing (and often conflicting) instructions at everyone while also trying to encourage us to "have fun" while making our lasagna. Pros: the wine selection is good and reasonably priced. The drag queens were fun! Cons: the owner kept yelling at everyone and seemed very overwhelmed. They kept running out of supplies. There was a lot of confusion and disorganization. Making pasta isn't this complicated (I've been doing it for 30 years). The disorganization resulted in us not eating until almost 11pm (we started at 7!) and the yelling really killed the celebratory vibe. My feedback is to think through the time management, clarity of instruction, and group size. It will make for a more enjoyable experience.

Andy S.

Yelp
We came in looking for kitchen gadgets only to learn that they were hosting a Parisian gnocchi class in their professional kitchen the next day. The store left such a great impression my fiancé and I had to sign up. We arrived five minutes late but we were still welcomed by the class. The owner Jason has a great set up, and creates a laid back atmosphere that is both fun and educational. The chef that lead the class, Frank; had impressive credentials and a friendly demeanor. The food was excellent and I picked up quite a few tips and ideas. Other participants were open to socializing and Jason made a point of using everyone's names multiple times to help me keep up. Thanks for the memorable evening!

Dennis A.

Yelp
I had previously been there a few years back and it was an amazing experience. This weekend, I hosted a party for 26 people and it was epic! The staff were extremely helpful and so kind to all my guests! Special shout out to Diana!! I added on a drag performance and the ladies were hilarious and delivered a great show! And don't get me started on Jason! He made the process of booking and organizing my event a breeze! He answered all my questions in a timely manner. As a host, he made sure all my guests were taken care of and made sure we were all having a good time.

Anthony M.

Yelp
Lots of fun! I didn't exactly know what to expect when I signed up for the Singles Bagel event, but I am certainly glad that I did! I have done the Chopping Block in the past and this is NO Chopping Block, but that is the point. Sometimes you want to get fancy with CB and learn culinary technique. This place is all about learning how to make quick and easy food to impress your family and friends. I would argue that the tricks and tips I learned at Get in the Kitchen will help much much more in the long run. I like both cooking schools, but Get in the Kitchen is way more fun and actually inspired me to think of new things to stuff into the bagel. Even though bagel bites sounds like something you can make in the microwave after coming home from the bars at 2am, these were "fancy" bagel bites filled with buffalo chicken, turkey burger, and chicken parm. I like that they took a familiar drunk food concept and made it into something homemade and highly customizabale. Jason is a perfect and patient teacher and got everybody involved in the fun. Its also a BYOB so the fun continued even after we were done cooking. While the food that came out didn't look like much, it was mouth watering good! Jason is like Rachel Ray's sarcastic younger brother. I am a big Rachel Ray cookbook fan so I appreciated Jason's approach to cooking where you can have fun without having to make a fancy meal. I was so impressed I bought his cookbooks and actually tried making the bagel bites a couple of days later. Fair warning, his cookbooks are a little raunchy, but I should have known better. Still, they are fantastic books and will certainly be trying quite few dishes from it. I will also be returning for another class and be bringing friends! Its always awesome to support a very local business and a nice alternative than going out to the bars!

Holly S.

Yelp
We had a wonderful wedding shower here for our niece. Jason was so funny and also taught us how to make three delicious appetizers (without making it boring)! I would highly recommend Get in the Kitchen for a party, shower, night out with friends, etc. It was a fun location, casual environment and fantastic event for everyone.

Kelli K.

Yelp
Dee-zam! Went here with some friends for a Seinfeld pop-up diner and had a blast! We made Rangoons, and were then served a great Seinfeld themed dinner. The Korvika cocktails really helped with the Elaine dance contest, but our horse didn't win first place. We did, however destroy at trivia! We had a lot of fun here. I'm going to come back for some of their other cooking events and even pickup some stuff for my kitchen!

Sarah M.

Yelp
We did the Chef Franks Christmas meal and did not disappoint! It was a great portion for two people and tasted incredible at home! They even accommodate us to have plain Mac and cheese instead of lobster Mac and cheese. They were very organized with pick up and it was fast! Grateful for this amazing meal! Will definitely be getting the inauguration burgers

James T.

Yelp
I was here last night for the Pride & Potstickers event, and the person that I was with and I had so much fun that I wanted to share my experience in hopes that everyone checks this place out and gives it the love that it deserves. Jason was an amazing host. You can tell how passionate he is about wanting to make this place both inclusive and accessible to everyone (and he writes fun cookbooks, so go support the man), and this isn't just your normal cooking class - he's with you from the moment you receive your ingredients to when finally get to eat what you prepared and you'll enjoy the whole process. The culinary staff that assists him were really friendly and ready to help all of us out if we needed it, and Get in the Kitchen provided an opportunity for a up and coming drag queen who just moved to Chicago to perform for all of us afterwards. I really appreciated the fact Jason gave a performer who is trying to break out in the drag scene here some exposure. There is a retail section that sells really good sweets and wine, and we both really enjoyed ourselves! It was a really fun night out and I got to experience something new with great company. We will definitely be back!

Jessica H.

Yelp
Tonight as I was making some meal prep, I thought about when I started really cooking and trying new things. It was because of my amazing experiences at Get In The Kitchen! The super awesome party cooking classes helped me see I can really do this! Jason, the owner, is awesome! He ensures everyone has a great experience! There are so many options for events (karaoke, painting your pet, dancing, comedy) The list goes on! Also, they have a shop to buy kitchen supplies! I encourage everyone to experience an evening at Get In The Kitchen!

Jessica L.

Yelp
Look the concept and the class was amazing!. Jason was very knowledgeable and make for a exciting night!

Tom W.

Yelp
For anyone familiar with Anthony Bourdain and his book Kitchen Confidential...the kitchen has always been where the party is at. Equal parts cooking lesson and dance party this was an awesome way to spend my Friday Night. A perfect blend of easy to pick up cooking techniques and an introduction to some more complex concepts Jason is a good teacher and is passionate about what he does. More importantly, he's also here to party...photos of a bona-fide, certified good time attached.

Ashanti R.

Yelp
I had the absolute best time tonight. This is a great alternative to Clubs and restaurants. The company is bright and festive. The owner and chef is great with the crowd(you will be the chef extraordinaire here). Trust me you can NOT go wrong with this date night choice. I will absolutely be making this a regular part of my things to do! You can not beat the price for the experience and exposure to good people. And its BYOB.....win win!!

Hilary R.

Yelp
My friend and I recently did the Paint Your Pet & Doggie Biscuits class. It was a blast. We had never been before and weren't sure what to expect but we will be back for sure! The doggie biscuits were fun and easy to make (my dogs LOVE them) and then we went right into painting. It is a fun way to spend some time on your own, with friends, family, or a date. It's really not stressful, tons of fun, relaxed, and a really enjoyable atmosphere. Try something new, bring some wine, laugh your butt off, and Get in the Kitchen! I highly recommend!

Josh F.

Yelp
Hands down one of the best cooking classes I've ever been to! The owner was very interactive with all the guests and made sure to make this a special experience for our friends birthday. I can't wait to go back and do some more cooking in the kitchen!

Shelby P.

Yelp
Wow, what a great night! We celebrated my husband's 30th birthday here! The cooking class was great, the owner and chef were amazing! I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a fun time!

Alan L.

Yelp
Cooking with queens (drag queens if you haven't assumed that yet) is all that needs to be said. There is nothing that a queen can't make better, and this was already an excellent adventure to begin with. Brought the hubby after finding online and we are so happy we did. He says I don't get out and socialize enough, and well this was the perfect remedy. Small group but so much fun. Got to talk to every person in the group and they were all so sweet and interested in talking to each other, so that was very nice. The food was good, I've a little experience in the kitchen, but if you don't Jason makes sure that you've got the basic skills down so you don't cut off a finger or stab your neighbor accidentally. The food was delicious, I think I'm gonna be thinking about the bruschetta for a while, and who knew that avacado citrus sorbet (with jalapeno) was not only a thing but delicious!! And Alex, drag queens are usually not my thing, but what a delight. Funny, friendly, quick witted, the whole package. If you want a fun, interactive night out then go here. They offer many different nights, so look to see if there is one that will entice you to do some cooking, boozing (bring your own, I'm not drinking alcohol but it was still a blast without the booze, so don't let that stop you from going) and run here (but not with a knife in your hand!!)

Michael C.

Yelp
We did my wife's 40th birthday at Get in the Kitchen. Jason and the entire staff were incredible, they ensured we were well taken care of and safe the entire time. The chef showed us how to make pasta, we all had a blast trying to recreate the masterpiece. Jason got the party going and kept the energy the entire time. Thanks for making the evening memorable!

Ashley E.

Yelp
Great time at Get in the Kitchen! The class was laid back and fun. We liked not having to worry about time or measurements. Great way to meet other people in the neighborhood. We'll definitely be back.

Jason C.

Yelp
Have you ever sat around solo or with friends, with no plans but with a deep yearning to get out of the house? Are you just dreading that someone is going to propose bowling or you yourself decide to go speed dating, alone? Been there, done that and all I have to say is don't! We all know each of those events will end disappointingly. "What to do then?" you ask. Well the new hip verb in Chi Town that's going around is to Get In The Kitchen! "I don't know how to cook," you say, "I don't like to cook," you snarl, "I burn water," you say shamefully, "My friends won't like that," you blubber arrogantly without an idea of what to do now. Well you're just ball of excuses that needs to roll themselves out of the house and Get In The Kitchen! Whether you're flying solo, on a first date, you're a statistically anomalous Tinder success couple, out with you're flannel wearing married friends or you're an adorable geriatric couple out there to show the world you still got the kicks to get out on the town! Wherever you are in life, you're in for an exciting night of fun, drinks, debaucherous unscripted humor, a hands on learning experience allowing you to create culinary magnificence mostly from scratch! All in all folks, you will experience a very enjoyable evening in a very welcoming environment tailored uniquely each night with delectable culinary creations that you will be serving up at home in no time. In my 2 past experiences (yes I went back for more ladies and gents...and was consistently the 9th or 11th wheel in the group...proudly) Jason was our host, our chef, our entertainment, his own personal assistant and just always expressed excitement and gratitude with what he was sharing with us and simply, that makes the experience all the more worth it. In addition he adds contextual entertainment to his dishes for example first evening of Spanish Tapas was coupled with Salsa Dancing lessons; Halloween weekend was paired with costumes and pumpkin inspired recipes. From one Jason to another Jason, thank you Jason for your heart, passion and excitement that you share with all who Get In The Kitchen! FYI It's BYOB...drink harddrink responsibly

Ryan S.

Yelp
Trying to find something different to do on a Saturday night other than the bar/restaurant/movies is more challenging than I thought it would be. Apparently I have become what my greatest fear is (other than stuck in an elevator with Gilbert Gottfried), boring. But rejoice a suggestion was made to attend a "cooking party" at Get in the Kitchen. And I am glad I did! This is not a cooking school, it's not 3 hours of a chef telling you your knife skills are terrible (they are). This is a fun, energetic and social way to cook with a group and have fun doing it. Jason the owner/mc/social coordinator is filled with energy and life. I attended the Cooking with Comedy night in which the menu was orange rosemary beef tacos and chicken curry tostadas. You can take part in some of the preparation of the meal or observe others while you discuss the meaning of life (or why Love After Lockup is superior to Love is Blind) with a fellow party goer. The food was outstanding! The dinner was followed by a performance by 2 incredibly funny comediennes. It is BYOB so bring your booze of choice (even White Claw as I am not judgemental...ok maybe just a little, ewww ). So take a break from the norm, do something new and check out Get in the Kitchen. You will have a great time and will want to come again!

Stephanie S.

Yelp
We did the Sunday bagel making and BYOB Bloody Mary and mimosa class and had a great time! The bagels turned out delicious and the instructions were informative but simple enough for everyone to follow along. The environment was very casual and would be perfect for a birthday party or smaller group event.

Bruce F.

Yelp
If you want to have a great night of fun with your family or friends, Get in the Kitchen is the place to go. From the moment we walked in until we left Jason was the perfect host and instructor. We chose to make pizza and pot stickers, and everything was delicious. And we even had time to play a game in between. Again, do yourself a favor & get in touch with Jason for a fun experience, I promise you that you will not be sorry. Barbara F.

Katie H.

Yelp
This was an absolute blast!! Not only was our pizza making class delicious, but it also incorporated games, lots of laughs, and an incredibly warm atmosphere. Jason and Winnie were an absolute delight to cook with, and provided tons of humor and helpful cooking tips for our bachelorette group. Perfectly curated event and highly recommended!

Hopal R.

Yelp
This place is awesome! I have been to several classes and I always have a great time. The owner/Jason is very knowledgeable and you learn how to cook new recipes while having fun. The classes are very social, I come alone and leave with new friends. Added bonus- it is BYOB!!!

Samantha E.

Yelp
Okay, SO this place is fantastic and Jason is a dream host. We booked a private party for a bachelorette outing and was able to show up, have a glass of wine and relax as everything was prepped for us. The atmosphere is very friendly, casual and inviting. The experience was described to us as "a cooking lesson at a dinner party at the hosts house" and that was a perfect description and exactly what we wanted. 10/10 recommend. You will not regret this.

Ashley L.

Yelp
This place is really fun! No matter if you're a master chef or new to the kitchen, these cooking parties encourage you to be involved in the making of the meal. The recipes are great, and it's byob. I highly recommend it for a fun night out :)

Gary S.

Yelp
Total waste of my time and my gas. I signed up for a class and it was canceled without any warning. Do not trust these people to put on the class they will cancel and not even have the courtesy to notify you. There are more reputiple people you can learn from.

Amanda M.

Yelp
This was so fun! We went to magic and cooking party (yes party!!!!) so much fun. Will go back for sure

Lili R.

Yelp
A great alternative to a "typical" night out. Jason was personable and very knowledgeable in the kitchen. A great balance between learning a new recipe and just simply having fun.

Andrea N.

Yelp
What a pleasant experience at my first cooking class. I went for a Costumes and Cooking party, Jason was a goofy teacher determined to blur the lines of traditional class with a socal party The environment was friendly and everyone was laid back. We learned how to make Wontons and other extravagant items that I forgot what they are called, and ended with some bourbon pulled chicken and pork. It's BYOB, and the teacher even made me coffee when I asked. Definitely should check out, no prior experience need! Willingness to have fun and socialize a must! I went with my BF, but I could definitely go solo and I'd be fine!

Yelp
We attended the "Golden Girls" event and had a great night! We added the finishing touches to the appetizer that was being served. We participated in trivia and karaoke which was fun! The owner and all staff were very friendly! This is BYOB. They also do private events.

Yelp
11/10. I've taken lots of cooking classes in the city but this has a super fun and casual (in the best way) atmosphere. Management is awesome, food was amazing and had so much fun! My only regret is that I didn't bring double the wine.

Yelp
Great service, unique event and tasty foods! The venue, structure of event, service and food exceeded my expectations. The shrimp scampi dumplings-out of sight! Jason was a delight to work with through the planning stages and the day of the event. It was a daunting task to take on planning an event through Covid time for me. Get In the Kitchen was flexible, communicative and took safety seriously. It was great that I didn't have to worry about the timing and flow of the event with their expertise and intuitive staff. Jason and Chef Stephan collaborated with me on my themed event and delivered a magical experience!

Yelp
I live in the neighborhood and passed by this place and always wondered what it was like. I had the opportunity to plan our work team outing and everyone had so much fun. Jason (the owner) provided a great atmosphere for us to have a dumpling cooking party. He was easy-going but was strict when it came to food safety (we all can appreciate that). We brought our own beverages and Jason had everything else set up for us. He thought of everything! It didn't matter what level of cooking you're at, it was fun for novices as well as serious foodies. Jason prepped all the time-consuming stuff, so we could do the fun part--shape the dumplings and cook them up. We didn't have to take any notes because their website has all the recipes. Everyone was so into making the cute little Asian appetizers. We made so many gyozas, eggrolls, and dumplings that we were able to stuff our faces and still bring home the significant leftovers. Now that I know what it's all about, I'm definitely going back and check out one of the open events that he throws throughout the month, those sound like a lot of fun, too. I'm especially excited about the candy making event during the holidays.

Yelp
I went to 2 events over the years - Bloody Marys and a Singles pizza event. Tasty drinks and food, especially the pizza dough! Jason is a great chef and friendly guy who makes cooking enjoyable (I really don't enjoy cooking at all). I'd recommend attending for a good time and tasty eats.
