Get Shucked

We visited Bruny Island for three days — and ended up going to Get Shucked every single day! We just couldn’t get enough. They serve the freshest oysters in the world — sweet, creamy, and unbelievably good. The jumbo oysters were also incredibly fresh. We tried a variety: baked with bacon, deep-fried, and of course, raw. While they were all delicious, the raw oysters were definitely my favorite — pure and perfect. The oyster shot (served in a glass) was surprisingly amazing too! The staff and the owner were super friendly and welcoming, making the experience even more enjoyable. Plus, the view of the ocean from Get Shucked is absolutely stunning. A must-visit spot in Tasmania for any oyster lover! Ah!! I forgot to mention the hand-made Tasmania ice-cream was absolutely good too!!

Came back twice for the oyster! My significant ones loves the oyster that is so fresh while I picked the salmon and fried oyster! Too good! Recommended to try their mixed signature platters! Salmon - lunch plate is not so great but worth trying out. A must stop place in Bruny Island! It is just along the way to town and on the road that you can't missed its present!

We had a pleasant meal at Get Shucked. The vibe is cozy and lovely. Although we’re full, visiting Bruny Island without Get Shucked seems to be incomplete. We first ordered only a dozen of fresh oyster just to try. We ended up triple of that plus more plates😁. The oyster was so fresh and high quality that no one can beat. My son who never had fresh oyster before liked it so much. Worth a visit indeed!!

Came here after spending the day on Bruny Island. I chose the Signature mixed dozen, priced at 39 AUD. I was really amazed by the price/ quality ratio. It tasted delicious, my favorite were just the fresh oysters. If you got some free time left on the island, visit Get Shucked for a lovely experience! Would recommend, 5/5 stars!

The most famous Oyster shack on Bruny Island. It is highly recommended! Their oyster chefs are craving oysters nonstop trying to deliver them to hungry customers. Their crumbs oysters are delicious too. We tried their Overeem whiskey and Devils Brewery beer. Satisfied.

If you’re visiting Bruny Island, this spot is a must. The oysters are big, fresh, and incredibly juicy. Even someone like me who aren’t usually a big fans of oysters is impressed by the quality. The place can get quite busy, but turnover is quick, so the wait for a table isn’t long. We especially enjoyed the natural oysters with just a squeeze of lemon and a dash of Tabasco, absolutely delicious. There’s also plenty of parking available right next to the restaurant, making it an easy and enjoyable stop.

Oysters were fresh and delicious. Although a Bit pricy compared to what we had on the further up the coast (at least for natural). We ordered 2 mixed trays, liked natural the most and then the crumbed version. We went there late afternoon so no issues with tables. Everything was very pleasant

Fresh Oysters 🦪 are the BEST! So fresh and sweet, with a bit lemon 🍋 wow! We had a signature mix, and had to add another dozen fresh! Because they are so good! $32 for fresh dozen, and $39 for mix. Not cheap but worth the taste!

Our first pit stop once we landed on Bruny Island was to get oysters. Get Shucked is the spot; it's farmed oysters but they're absolutely delicious. We dropped in on a Friday afternoon (around 1:45pm). The place was pretty busy. Seems like everyone stops in here for at least a dozen oysters. Lots of seating outside and they even have a drive thru option if you want to take oysters to go! Awesome idea. The menu is short; natural oysters, cooked oysters and sides (chips, sourdough bread and a lunch plate). Drinks are beer, cider, wine, sparkling, spirits and a few non-alcoholic drinks. - 2x Naked oysters ($20.00 AUD/dozen) - doesn't get any better than this. If you're a purist, this is the way to go. We started with a dozen; incredibly fresh, plump and succulent. So good we had to get a second dozen and lucky us, we got them shucked right on the spot. It's a must stop when you're on the island. I'm already dreaming of another dozen.

We ordered 2 dozen, naked, oysters. They were super fresh. We paired it with a bottle of wine and even had a dozen to go, unshucked, for our impromtu picknic lunch along with wine, cheeze, and bread later in the day.

The oysters were delicious. They were freshly shucked and tasted amazing - meaty and succulent. However they were smaller and more expensive than the Bruny Island oysters that we had at South Melbourne markets.

If you love oysters this is the place to come! Me, I don't really like them! ... but decided to give them another go. There are a lot of menu options including the usual suspects (Kilpatrick, natural, vinagarette styles) ... But also some a little different, like wonton oysters. They also have chips and a couple of other menu items available. We tried all of the above and those that love oysters really enjoyed them. I preferred the champagne They even have an oyster drive through here. It's a quirky little place that is a must visit if you make it to Bruny Island.

I recommend stopping here if you're on the island as they have really fresh and tasty oysters. You have the option of raw without toppings or with sauces to dress yourself. They also have cooked oysters with different flavours. I tried the Asian fusion which had miso, ginger and spices. It came steamed in a dimsum wooden steamer. They were good but not great. I would recommend trying the Kilpatrick instead or my preferred method of raw to top or leave naked as you please. They also serve fish and chips and for those looking for a kick, oyster shooters. Beer and wine are also available. There is a drive through option if you're on the go. It's a cute spot with great decor, a fun atmosphere and friendly staff. I would definitely be back!

Great oysters! A Must for any trip to Bruny. Delicious, we tried the naked, the kilpatric and the steamed Asian style. Also they have fish and chips - great shoe string fries. Also sampled some Bruny Dark Pale Ale. Excellent.

Mmmmmm I am still thinking about those fat juicy oysters ! The oysters here have probably stuck more in my mind because a few days ago I had some disappointing Coles Bay oyster from the Freycinet Marine Farm which was fleshness and much too salty in comparison. The natural oysters here are definitely my favorite but they do a decent job of cooked oysters too if that is what you prefer. If you have non-oyster eaters in your group, they have as an alternative sourdough bread with really good dressing to go with it (something for them to munch on while you happily scoff down your own oysters :) ) Definitely worth stopping here on a trip to Bruny island ( you have to drive past here anyway when you get off the ferry). You can also get a glimpse into the background process of getting the oysters from the farm to your plate here while the views of the fresh clear water around the island while you eat are an added bonus.

No doubt this place had fresh and juicy pacific oysters but I found it too commercialized and felt like a tourist stop more than anything else. The oysters are a dozen for 22aud. Perhaps service could've made a difference? The other two oyster shacks I visited on my trip didn't feel as touristy as this one. But again, the oysters were still good.

Was recommended to us and deservedly so. A mandatory stop in when visiting. Got a mixed dozen. The nude or natural oysters were the best oysters I've ever had, and I've been all over! They weren't as big as the oysters I had in Bicheno and were noticeably a touch small, but so big on taste who cares. I just can't get them out of my head. Wished I had more! Fair price. And the view of the lease is cool.

Honestly the freshest and best Oysters ive ever tasted in my life. Every time I go to Tasmania i make sure I get to Bruny to the Oyster farm. They even have a drive through service.

Seriously. The. Best. Oysters. Ever. Was here two years ago and we knew when we came back to Tassie that we'd definately be coming back here for oysters. Hands down these are the best oysters we've had our whole lives! Brought my cousin from the States here, this time round and reckons these rate as good as the Canadian ones! I assume those are just as fresh and tasty. The oysters don't need the lemon. On their own they smell like the fresh ocean and they taste fresh and creamy. Absolutely love them. When we came here a few years ago it was just a shed, they've now got a few more tables, a drive thru and a proper shop with books and other things you can buy. We got some freshly cooked fries to go with which was great to have with the oysters! If you don't have the time or want to take some away, go through the drive thru and pick some up saving a couple of bucks too! Definite pit stop on Bruny Island, if you ever go and one dozen is NOT enough to share... I'll admit we had 4 dozen between 3 people! We had 2 on the way to South Island and the another two on our way back! Irresistible!

Very nice place for fresh oysters and a beer. Locally farmed oysters in several fashions, Kilpatrick preferred. Outdoor seating perfect during a sunny day. A perfect stop for oyster on the way to south bruny island.

Beautiful Oyster spot on Bruny Island. Well worth a visit! Oysters are absolutely delicious, insanely fresh and reasonably priced. Wash them down with a glass of local wine, and be sure to taste a few different types. We had regular, a few giant sized ones, and some Kilpatrick, yum!

Worth stopping by get Shucked on a trip to Bruny Island. We had the natural oysters as well as oysters kilpatrick and they were so tasty. Great selection of local tasmanian wine and beer and juices for the kids. Made even more enjoyable by the fact that there was a small playground for the kids to play on whilst we sat and enjoyed our oysters and admired the review. Great value oysters and exceptional service. Put it on your list as a place to visit when on Bruny Island.
