Get the Burger

Let me start by saying, if I can have it my way - my last meal will be a cheeseburger. This burger just wasn't "it" for me. I ordered the "Leading Man", menu style, a small fry, and a large drink. I waited 15 minutes for my food despite them being pretty busy at around 5pm for a Wednesday. The fries were good, salted well, the burger was large and the tomato slices was generous, but the sauce was overly generous and too much pickle flavor (for me). The soda is a serve yourself fountain. My total (with 20% tip) was $22.63 - I wouldn't say it was worth $20+ for one person to eat here. This spot feels like a tourist trap, honestly. The serving size was more than filling, but the burger was messy to eat from bite one and only got worse. The napkins shred almost immediately, for $20+ I expected at least some better napkins if you're going to make a burger so messy. The place was kept clean though. It's great how supportive the business is of EVERYTHING but still, I won't be returning. Oh, and while eating I could hear two women in the kitchen yelling at each other. Not very professional!

Prior to this place, we didn’t have a top five for burgers. But this restaurant made us have to create one because of how delicious it was. My fiancé and I have had burgers from many different places, whether it was a quick fast food restaurant or a sit down restaurant, but nothing has came close to the burgers we had here. One of the best burgers we’ve had in a long time. It was our first time here, and although the prices were a little pricey, it was well worth it. Very flavorful, the meat was nice and juicy, the bacon was extra but definitely enhanced the burger. The fries were crispy and salty (which we love) and the tater totes were the same. Staff were very kind,helpful, the place is beautiful and unique in its own way. Definitely gonna be our first stop next time we come up to Big Bear.

I got a burger at Get the Burger. And it was good! I got the “Director” with no onions and mayo instead of their sauce. I was thinking it would be a small double cheeseburger because it’s a small place. NOPE! It was a big delicious burger! The fries weren’t the best, but not bad enough to lose a star. The staff was awesome and the atmosphere was really cool as well. I hate Pepsi, but this is the only place I’ve seen that serves both beverages at the fountain. Love it! And they support the military and veterans here! 🫡 It’s worth a stop if you’re passing through.

We visited this place twice in 3 days. I wish I could give a 5 star review for service because the first day was the best service ever. They brought water and a treat for my dog outside and my gluten free bun was falling apart and they made me a protein style one. Which I appreciate so so so much. The second day we went back. We were ordering up front I told the girl gluten free but can I still have my burger protein style but prepped gluten free. Her entire demeanor changed. She did not put gluten free note under my burger as I asked. So for ppl that don't know. When you have celiac disease (which I do have) gluten makes your body attack your stomach lining. Some ppl are sensitive to gluten. For me it can be life or dealth. It causes us to get super sick plus it's eating our stomach lining away. So cross contamination is a huge deal. We only ate here because of the gluten free options. Mind you I don't eat out ANYWHERE. So I was beyond excited about this. When I got my food my fries were in a bag labeled gluten free but my burger was in the other bag w the regular burgers my boys ordered. I would definitely felt more comfortable w my meal separate like my fries. I wasn't going to write this review but my husband got in the car and said " I feel so bad for you because ppl treat you so differently when you say gluten free." And maybe me writing this can help change that for us who can't eat anywhere and give places like this a shot. Thank you to everyone who served us the first day was the best experience. Pls train ppl to understand why we order the way we do pls. We will definitely still be back next time we are out here.

The restaurant staff handled it like Champs! We arrived right as they opened at 11:30 AM, and they KNEW it was going to be one of those days from go. Plenty of seating indoors and out. Food was fresh, music was pleasant, and beer was cold. I got the 'Leading Man' with beer-battered onion rings. Ask for the side of ranch dressing at the counter before you have a seat. Respectfully Reviewed.

The best burger I've ever had after living in four different major cities. The staff are insanely friendly and cool, and their shakes are absolutely rediculously good. It's not fast food, you do have to wait, but oh man is it worth it every. single. time.

Best chicken sandwich i have had. Dog friendly patio. The kindest mom and pop i have ran in to in a minute🙂. Instead of Carl's Jr or any of those quick fast food places come to get a burger. You wont regret it. Way better quality and awsome customer service.

We had a group of 6 and sampled several burgers including raccoon style!! So yum! The plain hot dog was also impressive - Don't skip the zucchini and pickle fries. Also the Oreo shake was excellent. Great service and friendly atmosphere!!

Perhaps the worst experience we've had with food in BB. I was so excited to try this place, and gave them the benefit of the doubt as far as "low staffing" and "wait for high quality food" posted all over the interior of the store... So. We waited....and waited, and waited... It ended up being closer to 40 minutes before we got food, and when we did- it tasted like it had been sitting out for the length of time we waited for food to be ready. The service didn't seem to have any drive while making food, instead chatting with a nearby worker (who was literally behind in the kitchen with staff, mind you) asking what they could make him. The name of the store should be: DO NOT Get The Burger. You're better off at Carl's Jr or McDonalds (which is ironic, because inside the store there's a sign that says if you want "fast food" go there)!!

Good quality burgers for a good value. $10 for a single and roughly $13 for a double. Patties are thick cut. Codfather ~$10 is solid option too! Only downside is the wait. Wait in the line was a good 15-20min, wait for the food is another 30-45min. But they do warn you that the wait is long. Up to you if you want to wait that long for your food. Besides the wait food is solid. Good classic burgers. Patio is dog friendly and the owners were really nice!

4 out of 5 - I will return and would recommend. Really, really great burgers and fries. Only thing preventing 5 stars was a mistake regarding whether or not sauce/mayo comes on the burger, so I had to avoid half the bun/toppings. If they nail it next time I'll edit the review!

Send another to the order station to grab menu's. 4. Look over the menus while you're in line. 5. Order. They are so nice :) 6. Wait patiently for 45+ minutes. 7. Wonder if they lost your order... 8. Get your order. Yum looks good doesn't it? 9. Eat. 10. Byeeeee! -VEGGIE OPTIONS: they have veggie patties for two dollars and impossible burgers for $3.50 per patty. -Thank you for the great burger and the military discount :-)

Came by after a day in the summit with a group of about 10. This place looks small at first but plenty of seating and good enough for 2 big groups. Menu has a variety of burgers, sides, kids menu items and limited edition items likes pickle fries and shakes. The group ordered a bit of everything , burgers (turkey patty was also ordered ), fries, kids nuggets, pickles fires, onion rings and a few shakes. It did take about 20-25 minutes for the group to slowly get our orders. The one thing that wasn't super convenient was the inconsistency in times. By the time the lady person in our group got their food, the ones that had ordered food had already received and finished their food. 1 one group members order had been forgotten (stuff happens). Overall, food was fresh , and very good all together. Would return but probably not in a big group and not with hungry kids. Give em a snack before maybe.

I have a question. I'm really hoping that this me overthinking it, but why are the policemen pigs? There's support the blue flags outside. I'm genuinely wondering so please get back to me on that. This is a cool local burger spot. The staff were nice. We all enjoyed our meal. I was able to get a veggie burger. It is sort of small loud and overwhelming inside the place.

Glorified frozen food. Burgers are frozen patties and the "secret sauce" tastes like a thousand island knock off. The only redeeming part of this burger is the bun. Fries and tater tots have a weird hue. Not sure if it's old oil or old food. After all the stellar reviews we were truly disappointed to waist our money at this tourist trap.

Service was great. Friendly staff. We're in town for the 4th and in the mood for burgers. Hubby & kids got the leading man burger and enjoyed them. Kids got shakes and those were good too! Fries were also very very yummy. Definitely coming back before we leave so I can try another flavor shake!!

All of the burgers are suuuper flavorful, srsly just pick any that sounds good to you. The fish taco is huuuge, literally the size of my head, also yum! Also do not knock the pickle fries, they were surprisingly a hit! The food does take a while, but soo worth it. Parking is a little small so carpool if you can.

Great place to eat, when in Big Bear. The burgers were good and the sides were outstanding. We made a pit stop here, following our few hours at Snow Play and enjoyed our lunch. The wife and youngest split a burger and I enjoyed their giant Chicago dog. The sides were nice and hot and seemed to have been freshly made. Probably the best part of the meal, besides the Chicago dog was the sweet potato bits, which were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Wish they weren't out of their pickle fries but they seem to be a pretty hot commodity. The place was nice and clean on the side and had several side and drink options. Great place to visit while I'm Big Bear.

The parking lot was a bit difficult but the food made the hassle worth it. The staff was very friendly and the service was prompt.

Solid burger. The patties aren't seasoned enough and I was really hoping to taste some char, but it was a little lacking. Overall, it's a decent burger for the price.

A very simple exterior belie a beautiful interior. The beautiful murals on the walls add whimsy and color to a not fast-food restaurant giving something to glance at for the wait of your meal. The service was polite, helpfully explaining any questions about the menu and their special items. The food is excellent. I had the Duke, a burger with bacon, BBQ sauce, and an onion ring. The BBQ sauce was sweet but not overly so with the bacon and onion rings providing a great crunch (even smothered in sauce). The buns were nice and supple and the patty and cheese were great as well. Along with the Duke I had their new special fried cheese balls. The five were a honey and cheddar cheese mix with pretzel crumb exterior served with one of three sauces. The spicy sauce that I chose had a great kick with a rich creamy taste reminiscent of ketchup and mayo based sauces. In short a delicious pairing to the cheese balls. All in all, whilst not a quick experience, it definitely was a delicious one.

We were there earlier today and the service was not good at all. I gave them one star because it's the lowest I can give. First it took 40 minutes to get our order, two sandwiches. No reason to take that long. When we got the order, the food was cold. To top it off, when we return the food, did not ask for a refund, as we are leaving the parking lot, I believe the manager or owner, came out and started cursing at us. Saying the "F" word and telling us that we were not welcome to go back. No worries, we don't plan on it. The food was horrible, and of course the service was even worst. The manager topped it off. I was literally afraid of him. Thought he was going to go after our car. The way he was screaming at us. Dear Owner, it's a real review. You were the aggressor coming outside. I felt threatened by you and you just proved it your response. We did nothing wrong, except returned the food. You must be having a bad day.

We've eaten here many times and always look forward to coming back. We were shocked to see some of the negative reviews. Honestly, anyone who doesn't like this place must not know what a good burger is. We came for lunch today right after they opened and had our hot, perfectly cooked burgers in just 8 minutes. I got the Duke and my husband got the John Wayne--both were 10/10. Easily some of the best burgers we've ever had. We own a painting business and always look forward to jobs in Big Bear just so we can eat here again. Still BOMB.com.

Just driving through Big Bear as a day "get away" when we stumbled upon this burger restaurant. The food was really good. I recommend the Cod Father sandwich and the Leading Man burger! The onion rings and fries were perfect as well. The staff was friendly and the restaurant was clean and inviting! Prices not bad either. Recommend!!

We came here after the lunch crowd, shortly past 2pm with our kids. While I am always a fan of anything not "fast food" this was... not good. We waited 2 1/2 hours for our food. It was for three kids and two adults. Yes, you read that correctly- two and a half hours. Perhaps we were foolish to wait and should have demanded money back, we did not because we kept thinking it can't be that much longer. My children made it through by the power of YouTube videos but it was dicey and we were all very hangry at the 2 hour mark. The food was good, or was I just so starving at that point that any food would have seemed like a gift from above? Possibly. It was a good burger but no food should take that long to make and serve. Maybe I went on an off day, who knows? But I want to warn any parents ahead of time, just in case... it was a rough road to get the burgers for us.

You go in it's gives quaint diner vibes. The service is friendly like you went to a family cookout. But the star of the show is their food. Their burgers are picture perfect. The John Wayne which comes with bacon, onion rings and jalapeños was loaded. After a full day on the mountain this is the food you want. Don't miss out on their pickle fries and their cheese curds!

Staff: They were really nice here. Quality/Quantity: The food was very tasty at this spot. We were having a really late lunch (2:30) so we were pretty hungry. We had a hot dog and 3 hamburgers. Hot dog - this was a very good. Hamburger/ huge, juicy, packed full of vegetables, and a tasty sauce. Value - It was fair Overall: The one thing that would elevate to a 5 star is shorter food time. It took 45 mins for our food. Now they have a sign saying they were short staffed and it was a holiday weekend but still feel that 45 mins is a long time. No matter what we really enjoyed the food and will be back for sure.

Hamburgers and hot dogs here, one of our favorite stop in big bear. Service is fast considering this place gets busy, there is seating area inside and outside. Parking can be hard to find. Kids love the burgers and fries and the sauces, my favorite is the Chicago dog with sweet potato fries and the jalapeño sauce. we were a group of ten very cheap to feed the entire crew.

Ordered the Director Burger and it was delicious! The buns were perfectly toasted and the burger had great flavors. It's an order in by the counter and the crew were great. It was a perfect weather when we visited so we sat at the outside patio. Highly recommended if you are in the Big Bear area!

I placed my order for a hot dog and some tots 2 pm on a Saturday afternoon in July. It took ONE HOUR to the minute before I got my food! The Chicago Dog was good, the tots were meh. Not worth the wait.

Wait time for food to come out on a Saturday afternoon was over 1.5 hours. Donna took our orders at the register and she was really helpful in explaining the menu items and helping us make a decision. The cod sandwich was good, but I wouldn't come back due to the insanely long wait time.

Staff was friendly. Tables were clean. Leading Man was so good; cod burger was pretty tasty, some more seasoning in the breading would've sent it to the top. Receiving our order took a little while, but it was worth it. Tons of soda options which was awesome! Overall, a new fav and we will definitely be visiting every time we're up in big Bear.

I love this little burger joint, it's perfect for a juicy burger after skiing all day. It's my new favorite in Big Bear. The service is always friendly and fast. And the food is great, crispy and hot fries, and warm and juicy burgers with crisp lettuce and tomatoes. Perfect way to fill up before hitting the road home.

Oh man idk how I drove by this place so many damn times and never stopped, this place is 10/10! Such a good cheesy a$$ burger, get the Director and call it day, I tried the Duke it was so good but the Director had it beat forsure. Fries and onion rings were also really good! Service was excellent! All our questions were answered when we were ordering since it's our first time here. Food was bomb! These burgers are over the top amazing! Cooked to perfection so the meat was so Juicy, melted cheese,fresh toppings and the bun...wow! The buns are lovely and soft so this whole burger melts in your mouth. It's a bit messy, but in the best way! The tots and fries are so crispy and go perfectly with the burgers. Place is really cute and seating is comfortable. Don't miss this place when you are in town! Top notch!

Everything!! This is my 5th Visit and I am Officially Addicted! Are you Hungry? Then this Food can be Split into a Meal for four if children or Two Adults! Did I have to wait to receive my Meal? Of course! That is how it Works for Gourmet Food. Sit back; Enjoy the Ambiance; This is not Mickey D's or that Guy who Jumps out of a Box! If you need a giant, sloppy burger quickly, definitely grab one from Get the Burger. We had a to go order and it didn't take too long. It has kind of an older diner type vibe if you want to sit in, but it was nice to bring a big solid burger and fries home.

This little burger shack is amazing! I often find myself skeptical of burger shops since I consider myself to be somewhat of a burger connoisseur; however, this place did not disappoint. I had the Director cheeseburger. Two meaty patties with adequate thickness adorned with creamy melty cheese and all the fixins. Absolutely delicious. I also got the fried cheese curds which were equally delicious and reminded me of the time I spent in the Midwest. I use Wisconsin cheese curds as the standard from which I judge all cheese curds. These were quite delicious and similar. I also must say the various flavors of ranch dressing were a nice touch. The service was excellent and also I must say my meal was very reasonably priced. I have paid far more for substandard and disappointing food. I definitely highly recommend!

Went there today, and honestly was expecting fresh food. I figured the sign that says "where not fast food" but clearly they are not even at fast food level. Customer service was good. The gentleman that took our order was very friendly. But when the food came out I was surprised. I ordered a cod sandwich with Tater tots and Mac cheese balls wife order a chicken sandwich. We also ordered a burger to try everything. It was a disappointment. There using frozen patties, my cod sandwich was bland and tasted frozen. cold cheese balls where gross and the fries taste like old oil. The only thing I liked was the carrot cake but it's not made in house, very small slice for $7. I think we ended up paying $42 plus a 20% tip. I should have look at pics or reviews before coming here never again! Go down to the village or the local Carls Jr for a decent burger. My recommendation is avoid this mediocre joint.

Burgers are great!! Even with the demon in the fridge and being short staffed, we got our food pretty quickly and burgers were delicious!

My brother told us to come here and we are glad he did! We have been coming to big bear for years and never stopped. We have our usual spots but this is now at the top of our list. The staff is so friendly! The food is delicious whatever you decide to eat I promise you will not be disappointed. There's so much room inside and even outside. We cannot wait to be back.

Above and beyond! Went for the first time today and got take out. I have allergies and was so impressed with how careful they were to let me know what was safe, offer alternatives and even double check with me before giving me my meal. They were so friendly. Even though they were super busy I did not feel like a hassle by asking my questions. Great fries and cheese curds. Excellent vegan burger. My family all loved their burgers and fry sauce! The signs inside say it's worth the wait and they are not wrong. Honestly it didn't even take that long considering how busy they were. Highly recommend!

Trust me, this place is worth the long wait. It took about an hour, but honestly I would happily do it again. We got the fries, pickle fries, the Leading Man and the Starving Actor- Everything was fantastic. The staff work so hard here to bring you good quality food. Grab a beer and a deck of cards, the wait will go a lot faster!

Food was absolutely delicious! We had the Director burger the Chicago dog, fries and onion rings. Everything was delicious, the burger was juicy tasted fresh and the Chicago dog was sweet salty and had a little kick to it their fries were crispy and seasoned just right and their onions rings were sweet and paired so good with their house ranch. Lots of choice; burgers, salad, vegi burger, turkey burger. Fries were good, but burger was great. Reasonably fast service. Great mural inside. Can't wait to go back.
