Get the Burger

Prior to this place, we didn’t have a top five for burgers. But this restaurant made us have to create one because of how delicious it was. My fiancé and I have had burgers from many different places, whether it was a quick fast food restaurant or a sit down restaurant, but nothing has came close to the burgers we had here. One of the best burgers we’ve had in a long time. It was our first time here, and although the prices were a little pricey, it was well worth it. Very flavorful, the meat was nice and juicy, the bacon was extra but definitely enhanced the burger. The fries were crispy and salty (which we love) and the tater totes were the same. Staff were very kind,helpful, the place is beautiful and unique in its own way. Definitely gonna be our first stop next time we come up to Big Bear.

Perfect place for lunch after a hike around the lake. Stopped by here seeking something with a more local flavor. The Director burger and a side a fries did not disappoint. There was plenty of seating available during my visit on a Monday afternoon in late summer.

I got a burger at Get the Burger. And it was good! I got the “Director” with no onions and mayo instead of their sauce. I was thinking it would be a small double cheeseburger because it’s a small place. NOPE! It was a big delicious burger! The fries weren’t the best, but not bad enough to lose a star. The staff was awesome and the atmosphere was really cool as well. I hate Pepsi, but this is the only place I’ve seen that serves both beverages at the fountain. Love it! And they support the military and veterans here! 🫡 It’s worth a stop if you’re passing through.

They had double stacked vegan beyond burgers with in and out like sauce. zucchini fries also good. Love the murals.

We visited this place twice in 3 days. I wish I could give a 5 star review for service because the first day was the best service ever. They brought water and a treat for my dog outside and my gluten free bun was falling apart and they made me a protein style one. Which I appreciate so so so much. The second day we went back. We were ordering up front I told the girl gluten free but can I still have my burger protein style but prepped gluten free. Her entire demeanor changed. She did not put gluten free note under my burger as I asked. So for ppl that don't know. When you have celiac disease (which I do have) gluten makes your body attack your stomach lining. Some ppl are sensitive to gluten. For me it can be life or dealth. It causes us to get super sick plus it's eating our stomach lining away. So cross contamination is a huge deal. We only ate here because of the gluten free options. Mind you I don't eat out ANYWHERE. So I was beyond excited about this. When I got my food my fries were in a bag labeled gluten free but my burger was in the other bag w the regular burgers my boys ordered. I would definitely felt more comfortable w my meal separate like my fries. I wasn't going to write this review but my husband got in the car and said " I feel so bad for you because ppl treat you so differently when you say gluten free." And maybe me writing this can help change that for us who can't eat anywhere and give places like this a shot. Thank you to everyone who served us the first day was the best experience. Pls train ppl to understand why we order the way we do pls. We will definitely still be back next time we are out here.

Staff was friendly and fast. The burger was good, not amazing but good. I would go back. For a mountain town, it's a 5 star. But if you are expecting it to be like your favorite local spot it isn't. Burger had good flavor and was cooked well. The cheese curds were really good. Make sure to ask for the jalapeño ranch. Mad it so much better. Also something that was unlike anything I had ever seen was they had both a coke and a Pepsi choice. Plus several other beverage choices.

A cute little shack with amazing burgers. If you are in big bear, make sure you have at least one meal here. The burger is perfect size, super juicy, with the most delicious sauce. The only downsides are their PoS system is old so they may have mismatch charges on your receipt and it took them a long time to prepare the food

The Cod Burger was amazing brilliant in color & taste The Cole Slaw was fresh tasty & a wonderfully spice on the dressing. Service was slow but they warn you. it's not fastfood. As a cook myself I know quality tasty food takes time. The placed was packed inside & outside. The drivethu line never ended friendly tourist chatting all over ***It"s worth the wait*** This building had struggled getting a good business, not anymore. GET THE BURGER****is here to stay. Very reasonable price God Bless this new Business

The decor and signage around the place warns you of the slow pace, but waiting over an hour for a cheeseburger is absolutely ridiculous. Watching people who've ordered AFTER you get their food before you is absurd. Pro tip: Only go here if you have nothing to do the rest of the day.

This burger was delicious. 9.2/10. The meat was seasoned well, very moist and flavorful overall. I love burger sauce so it could've used more than that is my only critique. We also got sweet potato and regular fries, they were good. Highly recommend this spot if you're looking for a burger. You won't find better in Big Bear!

Super good food fo such a reasonable price! I was so surprised that given Big Bear is predominantly a tourist area, they are not charging ridiculous amount for their food, especially since they're so far away from the main civilization. Food is generous amount, they have yummy options, and overall great service. Highly recommend this place!

Always a great place to come to. Weather you are in the mood for cod father, beer battered onion rings of a good burger this is the spot. They have some great mural wall art. The wait does vary but always worth the wait.

I fear I must leave a review as a fair warning to others. Came here bc a local told me: ITS SOOOOO GOOOOD The burgers are honestly average Got the director and it was fine. Not bad. Not great. Got the cod burger and fish was soooo rubbery, would not get again The $5 salad is abysmal. Def someone just cut open a plastic bag and dumped the remains- lettuce was browned and really should not have been served. The salad dressing is the kind that comes in those little bag, like a large ketchup packet Large fries is hardly large can't imagine how small the small is. So many signs on the walls about how if u want fast food, go to Carls Jr, that they are short staffed and u need to be patient, that it's difficult times to hire. Even the mural talks about importance of patience and that the food is worth the wait So clearly there are issues here w wait times! We came at 5:30 and it was EMPTY. We waited a reasonable amount of time but likely bc it was empty It's evident that the kitchen and staff is run by all high school looking kids, how good can u expect the food to be Very very VERY average restaurant. If we truly had to wait, it would have been even more disappointing Don't think I will crave this place again for our Big Bear trips

I think I may have set my expectations a little too high after seeing this place all over social media. Unfortunately, it didn't quite live up to the hype it felt more like an overhyped Carl's Jr. The burger itself was underwhelming; the patty tasted like it had been frozen, and the veggies didn't seem very fresh. That said, the pickle fries were a standout crispy, flavorful, and easily the highlight of the meal. We chose to sit out on the deck, which had a really charming view of the forest definitely a plus for the atmosphere. The wait for food was a bit longer than expected, but the staff was very friendly and welcoming throughout our visit. Overall, it was an okay experience. Not bad, just not quite what I'd hoped for.

Welp, we came this past Saturday during the power outage of the entire Big Bear Valley... to say that EVERYONE was on the look out for any place that had electricity should tell you that it was as if we were living in dystopian times LMAO!! The restaurant staff handled it like Champs! We arrived right as they opened at 11:30 AM, and they KNEW it was going to be one of those days from go. Plenty of seating indoors and out. Food was fresh, music was pleasant, and beer was cold. I got the 'Leading Man' with beer-battered onion rings. Ask for the side of ranch dressing at the counter before you have a seat. Respectfully Reviewed.

Good quality burgers for a good value. $10 for a single and roughly $13 for a double. Patties are thick cut. Codfather ~$10 is solid option too! Only downside is the wait. Wait in the line was a good 15-20min, wait for the food is another 30-45min. But they do warn you that the wait is long. Up to you if you want to wait that long for your food. Besides the wait food is solid. Good classic burgers. Patio is dog friendly and the owners were really nice!

Haven't been here in a couple of years. Burgers are as good as I remember. I had a protein style double patty which was good. Service is great and they have music playing in the background. Sorry no photos of food this time around.

Get The Burger in Big Bear is a must stop if you're craving a great burger in a classic diner-style setting. The service was excellent friendly, welcoming, and quick, which made the whole experience even better. The diner-like ambiance gives the place a cozy, laid-back vibe that fits perfectly with Big Bear's charm. And of course, the burger was outstanding: juicy, flavorful, and cooked just right. You can tell they take pride in what they serve. I'll definitely be coming back the next time I'm in town!

Send another to the order station to grab menu's. 4. Look over the menus while you're in line. 5. Order. They are so nice :) 6. Wait patiently for 45+ minutes. 7. Wonder if they lost your order... 8. Get your order. Yum looks good doesn't it? 9. Eat. 10. Byeeeee! -VEGGIE OPTIONS: they have veggie patties for two dollars and impossible burgers for $3.50 per patty. -Thank you for the great burger and the military discount :-)

Came by after a day in the summit with a group of about 10. This place looks small at first but plenty of seating and good enough for 2 big groups. Menu has a variety of burgers, sides, kids menu items and limited edition items likes pickle fries and shakes. The group ordered a bit of everything , burgers (turkey patty was also ordered ), fries, kids nuggets, pickles fires, onion rings and a few shakes. It did take about 20-25 minutes for the group to slowly get our orders. The one thing that wasn't super convenient was the inconsistency in times. By the time the lady person in our group got their food, the ones that had ordered food had already received and finished their food. 1 one group members order had been forgotten (stuff happens). Overall, food was fresh , and very good all together. Would return but probably not in a big group and not with hungry kids. Give em a snack before maybe.

I like the amount of options on the menu and the amount of milkshakes to choose from. It's small and can feel a little claustrophobic so we don't come here often but we came last time in town and now sitting here craving their tater tots lol a must try if you're in town

We stop by this place from time to time. Always decent burger and plenty of patio space to enjoy a nice day. People that run it are nice and the have coke and Pepsi products for those that have to know.

This is a cool local burger spot. The staff were nice. We all enjoyed our meal. I was able to get a veggie burger. It is sort of small loud and overwhelming inside the place.

One of the better burgers we've had while up in Big Bear. All fresh ingredients, soft buns, and especially enjoyed the creamy melted cheese, diced grilled onions, and burger sauce on the director's cut. Nothing large about the large fries though, while they also taste excellent the portion size is lacking - not quite enough to share with someone, depending how hungry you are. Comfortable indoor and outdoor seating, dog friendly on the patio.

All of the burgers are suuuper flavorful, srsly just pick any that sounds good to you. The fish taco is huuuge, literally the size of my head, also yum! Also do not knock the pickle fries, they were surprisingly a hit! The food does take a while, but soo worth it. Parking is a little small so carpool if you can.

Great place to eat, when in Big Bear. The burgers were good and the sides were outstanding. We made a pit stop here, following our few hours at Snow Play and enjoyed our lunch. The wife and youngest split a burger and I enjoyed their giant Chicago dog. The sides were nice and hot and seemed to have been freshly made. Probably the best part of the meal, besides the Chicago dog was the sweet potato bits, which were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Wish they weren't out of their pickle fries but they seem to be a pretty hot commodity. The place was nice and clean on the side and had several side and drink options. Great place to visit while I'm Big Bear.

What a perfect burger joint!! Service was friendly, and it was great to chat with staff while ordering. The Director burgers were top notch "classic" - just the right amount of dressing, leaving plenty of ability for the burger and toppings to be the star. The fries were amazing. The pickle fries (stress the "pickle!" when ordering) were perfectly battered - think onion ring- and just the right length to mimic a traditional fry. The ambiance itself is comfortable, take some time to enjoy the mural, classic checkered flooring and diner seats. Definitely recommend !!

Great spot in Big Bear! Definitely not "fast food" and the burgers we got were amazing and worth the wait. On a Friday afternoon, almost all seats were packed which tells you how good it is. Great burgers!

I'm giving it five star for the food. I just don't have the patience to wait 25 minutes after ordering to eat. It could go up to two hours if busy. You can't really go there for a lunch hour. Once again, the food is excellent. The wait totally sucks.

They're not fast food they are good f'ing food. A dam good burger it is .First time here, cant wait to return. Their double director Burger puts the shack,The out and that bs Habit to shame. Pricing is on point for these post BS FJB times. Keep it up and go get your f'ing burger. Now. If you want a fast burger go to Carl's place Staff is great place is clean and the sauce is legit. A very simple exterior belie a beautiful interior. The beautiful murals on the walls add whimsy and color to a not fast-food restaurant giving something to glance at for the wait of your meal. The service was polite, helpfully explaining any questions about the menu and their special items. The food is excellent. I had the Duke, a burger with bacon, BBQ sauce, and an onion ring. The BBQ sauce was sweet but not overly so with the bacon and onion rings providing a great crunch (even smothered in sauce). The buns were nice and supple and the patty and cheese were great as well. Along with the Duke I had their new special fried cheese balls. The five were a honey and cheddar cheese mix with pretzel crumb exterior served with one of three sauces. The spicy sauce that I chose had a great kick with a rich creamy taste reminiscent of ketchup and mayo based sauces. In short a delicious pairing to the cheese balls. All in all, whilst not a quick experience, it definitely was a delicious one.

We had a group of 6 and sampled several burgers including raccoon style!! So yum! The plain hot dog was also impressive - Don't skip the zucchini and pickle fries. Also the Oreo shake was excellent. Great service and friendly atmosphere!!

The "leading lady" burger was excellent. The lettuce and tomato were very fresh. The grilled onions are a great addition to the burger. They nicely cut it in half for us to share. They used a bit more sauce than I usually have, but it was good. The fries were hot and quite tasty. The vanilla shake was just ok in our opinion. Seemed a bit thin, and tasted more like ice milk. The ambiance is great with cute murals on the walls. Don't come here if you're in a hurry. They mention on the menu that everything is grilled to order and that they are not a fast food place, and they weren't kidding. It was worth the wait though. The food was that good. Will have to go back again and try something else next time.

Glorified frozen food. Burgers are frozen patties and the "secret sauce" tastes like a thousand island knock off. The only redeeming part of this burger is the bun. Fries and tater tots have a weird hue. Not sure if it's old oil or old food. After all the stellar reviews we were truly disappointed to waist our money at this tourist trap.

The food was amazing, the service was incredible as well. I live quite the drive away but I am being honest when I tell you I would totally drive back here for another burger. I had the "Duke" burger, and it was insanely good.

I have a question. I'm really hoping that this me overthinking it, but why are the policemen pigs? There's support the blue flags outside. I'm genuinely wondering so please get back to me on that. Solid burger. The patties aren't seasoned enough and I was really hoping to taste some char, but it was a little lacking. Overall, it's a decent burger for the price.

Perhaps the worst experience we've had with food in BB. I was so excited to try this place, and gave them the benefit of the doubt as far as "low staffing" and "wait for high quality food" posted all over the interior of the store... So. We waited....and waited, and waited... It ended up being closer to 40 minutes before we got food, and when we did- it tasted like it had been sitting out for the length of time we waited for food to be ready. The service didn't seem to have any drive while making food, instead chatting with a nearby worker (who was literally behind in the kitchen with staff, mind you) asking what they could make him. The name of the store should be: DO NOT Get The Burger. You're better off at Carl's Jr or McDonalds (which is ironic, because inside the store there's a sign that says if you want "fast food" go there)!!

You go in it's gives quaint diner vibes. The service is friendly like you went to a family cookout. But the star of the show is their food. Their burgers are picture perfect. The John Wayne which comes with bacon, onion rings and jalapeños was loaded. After a full day on the mountain this is the food you want. Don't miss out on their pickle fries and their cheese curds!

We were there earlier today and the service was not good at all. I gave them one star because it's the lowest I can give. First it took 40 minutes to get our order, two sandwiches. No reason to take that long. When we got the order, the food was cold. To top it off, when we return the food, did not ask for a refund, as we are leaving the parking lot, I believe the manager or owner, came out and started cursing at us. Saying the "F" word and telling us that we were not welcome to go back. No worries, we don't plan on it. The food was horrible, and of course the service was even worst. The manager topped it off. I was literally afraid of him. Thought he was going to go after our car. The way he was screaming at us. Dear Owner, it's a real review. You were the aggressor coming outside. I felt threatened by you and you just proved it your response. We did nothing wrong, except returned the food. You must be having a bad day.

Staff: They were really nice here. Quality/Quantity: The food was very tasty at this spot. We were having a really late lunch (2:30) so we were pretty hungry. We had a hot dog and 3 hamburgers. Hot dog - this was a very good. Hamburger/ huge, juicy, packed full of vegetables, and a tasty sauce. Value - It was fair Overall: The one thing that would elevate to a 5 star is shorter food time. It took 45 mins for our food. Now they have a sign saying they were short staffed and it was a holiday weekend but still feel that 45 mins is a long time. No matter what we really enjoyed the food and will be back for sure.

Great burgers! Great pickle fries and sweet potato fries! I didn't realize the cashier didn't hear my order for sweet potato fries. When the server brought the order, the receipt didn't have the fries. The sweet server (Lynn ?, I think?), offered to fry some up, "it'll only take two minutes, eat while your food is hot". She promptly showed up with hot sweet potato fries! A lovely and much appreciated service! We will be back on our next visit!

What a good place to have lunch, their burgers are great starting from the burger bun to the perfectly made onion rings. I can tell the owner have a sense of humor from the murals on the wall to the signs posted. Another thing I have to say is that I forgot my purse at this restaurant after lunch. I realized it 15 minutes later when we were at our next stop. Our families passports were in it and I'm so grateful that the restaurant held it for me. Everyone from the staff to the clients that frequent this place are just amazing and honest. We will stop by for lunch here again the next time we are in big bear.

Hamburgers and hot dogs here, one of our favorite stop in big bear. Service is fast considering this place gets busy, there is seating area inside and outside. Parking can be hard to find. Kids love the burgers and fries and the sauces, my favorite is the Chicago dog with sweet potato fries and the jalapeño sauce. we were a group of ten very cheap to feed the entire crew.

One of the best burgers I have had in a while. Delicious taste, juicy and mouthwatering. My husband and I ordered the leading man, fries and onion rings, everything was fantastic. I would highly recommend.

This is the best burger joint is all of big bear by a long shot. The food is amazing the the people behind the counter treat you like family. Not to mention the view and beautiful artwork around the whole dinning area!!! Must visit location!!!

So good!! We loved all the sauces. So many good options. I ordered a burger for my babes and didn't realize there was no burger patty- it was still soooo good! Fries and zucchini were both great. The cheeseburger was also amazing. Cute little area to sit and wait. Can't wait to come back again!

Very very slow service. We were second in line when they opened their doors. We waited 40 minutes for 2 hotdogs and hamburger. Multiple families who ordered after us got their food faster than we did. Staff Shortage is not excuse in this case. Sorry! We did not get explanation what made the order so late. Nobody on the kitchen is wearing gloves. Making and wrapping your food with bare hands. You just have to trust they are clean. The guy who brought orders out was continuously touching and fixing his hair. No gloves no hands wash was noticed after that. Was favorite spot, never again now. Disappointed

Service was great. Friendly staff. We're in town for the 4th and in the mood for burgers. Hubby & kids got the leading man burger and enjoyed them. Kids got shakes and those were good too! Fries were also very very yummy. Definitely coming back before we leave so I can try another flavor shake!!
