This is really a lost and found restaurant for me. My last visit this could call a heritage restaurant was more than 8 years ago when they are still at their first original location Geylang Lorong 33. After that they moved to Serangoon road before they settled down here at beach road.
I was very excited to revisit this restaurant again. Especially missed their Claypot Rice. Yes! Is still a wow for me, thats remind me the first-time meal experience. It was a wonderful memories.
First, their original chef still the same person, which that is the original Claypot Rice taste that I remembered. The rice have the salty Umami taste, not just the salty fish or black soya sauce taste but more than that, is so fragrance so flavourful. Many Claypot Rice food stall unable to give the rice such delicious Umami taste, this restaurant really have their very unique secret recipe.
Definitely, the chicken texture was moist, juicy, soft yet tender, taste was so good, you can taste the salty fish and black soya sauce flavors. Very addictive.
The most unique is the burn bottom rice, today was my lucky day, mine was perfectly done, not blacky burned but just well done, crispy and fragrance.
Other dishes we ordered was good too, fried Fu-Rong eggs was moist and delicious, the shrimps was fresh and sweets.
Another vegetable dishes, fried baby kailan with Oyster sauce, very delicious and very well done, not overcooked, just perfect.
A small Claypot Rice for two cost at $18.80. Fried Fu-Rong eggs and stir-fry Baby Kailan, both at $12.80 each. Overall price was much higher than before when they are still at Geylang Road, but reasonably they are now at popular beach road F&B area.
Convenient location for tourists and public transportor. Those who drive might have hard time to find carpark lots.
This restaurant definitely worth a visit especially if you loved Claypot Rice. Highly recommended.
