The Best MICHELIN Guide Hotels in Istanbul

"To call it the Istanbul equivalent of Times Square isn’t quite right, but it gets the general idea across — this is the city’s main crossroads, the heart of the city’s transit network, and both a commercial and a cultural center. More to the point, it’s adjacent to the famous Gezi Park, and a (pretty athletic) stone’s throw from the shores of the Bosphorus itself. A reasonable spot, we think, for a place that calls itself Gezi Hotel Bosphorus." - MICHELIN Guide

"This sleek, ultra-modern spot takesits inspiration from the linear forms of Dutch painter Piet Mondrian. The Gezi Bosphorus offers a chic and thoroughly striking alternative to the city’s usual Ottoman aesthetic. Cozy rooms have a retro feel with smoked oak and glass used to create warm yet light-filled interiors. Floor-to-ceiling windows in the Deluxe Bosphorus rooms have attention-grabbing views of Istanbul’s iconic Bosphorus Strait. The Gezi Bosphorus’ green credentials set it apart and prove comfort doesn’t have to be sacrificed for sustainability. Proudly practically zero-emission, the hotel reuses water in its garden; recycles all papers, plastics, and metals; and produces hot water from excess air-conditioning system energy, making it one of the city’s few hotels to receive Turkey’s Greening Hotel Certification. Just off Taksim Square, staying here puts guests amid Istanbul’s modern city core, steps from the shopping vortex of İstiklal Caddesi but still only a short hop on public transport to the historic quarter of Sultanahmet."

Our stay was truly amazing from start to finish. We were warmly welcomed, and the service throughout was exceptional.||Huge thanks to Mustafa for making us feel right at home with his kindness and great recommendations. Jerry made everything smooth and stress-free with his energy and professionalism. And Serkan’s calm and helpful presence made a big difference — always there when we needed anything.||The staff as a whole were fantastic — friendly, attentive, and full of positive energy. Our room was beautiful, spacious, and had breathtaking views of Istanbul. Breakfast was another highlight: delicious and beautifully presented.||Every detail was thoughtful and luxurious. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Istanbul!

I would like to express my sincere appreciation to the hotel management for the excellent service and attention to detail. My stay was comfortable and truly enjoyable. A special thank you to Mr. Mostafa at the front desk — his professionalism, warm attitude, and constant smile made a huge difference in my experience. He went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. He is truly a great representative of the hotel. I highly recommend this place and will definitely be coming back in the future. Thank you all

Nice hotel located right at the side of Taksim square. Our room was specious, however, we missed enough storage space for clothes, since there is only a single wardrobe with a few hangers and no drawers and only 1 shelve. Generally it’s quiet since it’s a smaller hotel. However, you can hear coming and leaving room neighbors well and sometimes loud action from outside. The hotel Turkish spa is a nice plus. The breakfast buffet is rather small and does not offer a lot of vegan options. Hotel staff is very friendly and accommodating. We stayed here, because we wanted to avoid the most touristy areas. However, Taksim is not the right place for that. If you like central, nice and not too busy, I recommend Karakoy.

From the moment we arrived at the Gezi Bosphorus Hotel, we were truly impressed. The staff, the food, the service, and the hotel itself were nothing short of phenomenal. The attention to detail and the warm hospitality made our stay incredibly memorable. A special mention goes to Jerry—his dedication and attentiveness went above and beyond anything we expected. He ensured every aspect of our stay was perfect, and his professionalism and kindness truly stood out. It’s rare to encounter such genuine care, and we’re so grateful for his efforts. All the staff were fantastic—friendly, helpful, and always willing to assist with a smile. The food was delicious, the ambiance was elegant, and the view of the Bosphorus was breathtaking. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Istanbul. We can’t wait to return!

We've just spent 2 nights in this gorgeous hotel. The location is fantastic, it's definitely worth paying for a river view, in daytime it's great, but at night is absolutely brilliant. A special shoutout for Halil on reception, who from the first moment we arrived, until we left could not have been more helpful. Over and above all we could have asked for.

Staying at Gezi Hotel is a privilege. Gezi Hotel is something you must experience, not just describe. Still, I can't help but share my overall 10-day stay in April. Every time I come, I feel at home because of the wonderful staff at Gezi Hotel who make me feel this way. During this stay, I truly felt like a queen; the cleanliness, the view, the food, the comfort, the easily accessible location, the attentive service, and most importantly, the warm yet respectful staff were all outstanding. When it was time to leave, I felt a deep sadness, as if I was leaving my family behind. A huge thank you to the entire Gezi Hotel family. I hope to see you again soon. Much love.

Our first time in Gezi hotel. We reserved two rooms, junior lounge and a loft lounge. Both were having excellent view on bosphorus. Rooms are clean. Hotel location is excellent. Reception personnel are nice and helpful, as we experienced. The only minor point that I would say is water put in rooms from drinking is not enough. It is not good to call asking for water. The hotel is a good choice to stay again. 👍🏻

Parts that can be improved:||1. I wanted to give the GM Yasar some feedback and he said he welcomed it but he never got back to me. |2. The hotel cafe had music blasting super loud in the mornings. Think club level. I brought it up a few times to the lead waiter and he said he was told by his “big boss Mr. John” that he wanted it this way. |3. The standard room was cramped from the bed to the TV console area. Narrow to walk. No place to put suitcases. |4. The sliding doors by the the bed let in a cold draught. No howling wind but still, the cold cold could be felt. |5. The central heating system is a bit strange. The air in the room was dry. No matter how we adjusted the thermostat. |6. Staff didn’t know that the airport bus shuttle coach would accept the Instanbulkard as payment. Kept asking if we wanted them to book a taxi. We took the coach and reached the airport in 35 minutes. No traffic. |7. The room fridge is tiny. No cutlery provided or sugar for coffee either. No teaspoons etc. |8. Tv remote did not work. |9. We changed room but the first room safe did not work. ||The good:||1. Staff all extremely helpful. Especially the front desk. Barat stands out as being extra pleasant and helpful. ||2. The hotel is cozy. Boutique vibe. ||3. The location is perfect. Beautiful park across the street with cats and a nice cafe. We had breakfast there each day. Charming. Nice sandwiches. |||🤝

Yelp
We chose this hotel during our stay in Istanbul and it was relatively nice !! This hotel is part of the design hotel collection which is within the Marriott portfolio & the hubby is titanium status so it made sense to stay here and use some points Location- was okay! It's near taksim square which is very touristy and it's across the river from the mosques and other sites but I think it was a little cheaper to book this side. Also was a little disappointed with the view. They have both a riverside view and a view facing taksim square. I would have loved the riverfront view instead but we got the taksim view ! The room was quaint but very clean and comfortable! The beds were very nice ! And our room was also very clean, and the housekeeper even folded my Pajamas everyday! And replaced all our soaps! So we definitely liked the housekeeper she was so sweet!! The gym downstairs was okay, pretty small but the place does have a steam room, sauna room, and a small little hammam for use for free of charge for guests so that was fun to explore! We ended up eating sometimes at the hotel restaurant due to time restraints and being tired, and the food was moderate priced. Drinks were more expensive though! The view is decent as it overlooks the river but it's obscured by some trees and buildings since it is on the first floor (which is really the 4th floor) Overall it was a good stay, just wish we had a river facing room to top it all off !

Yelp
We stayed here at the beginning of our Istanbul trip. We were supposed to arrive a day later but had a change of plans so we booked one night here. The rooms are a little on the small side but our room has access to a lovely garden and the property itself has a great aesthetic and décor. Breakfast was not bad but dinner options were not great and service at dinner was very slow. Unlikely that we'd stay here again as our experience at the other hotels we stayed at while in Istanbul was much better.
