The Best MICHELIN Guide Hotels in Istanbul

"To call it the Istanbul equivalent of Times Square isn’t quite right, but it gets the general idea across — this is the city’s main crossroads, the heart of the city’s transit network, and both a commercial and a cultural center. More to the point, it’s adjacent to the famous Gezi Park, and a (pretty athletic) stone’s throw from the shores of the Bosphorus itself. A reasonable spot, we think, for a place that calls itself Gezi Hotel Bosphorus." - MICHELIN Guide

"This sleek, ultra-modern spot takesits inspiration from the linear forms of Dutch painter Piet Mondrian. The Gezi Bosphorus offers a chic and thoroughly striking alternative to the city’s usual Ottoman aesthetic. Cozy rooms have a retro feel with smoked oak and glass used to create warm yet light-filled interiors. Floor-to-ceiling windows in the Deluxe Bosphorus rooms have attention-grabbing views of Istanbul’s iconic Bosphorus Strait. The Gezi Bosphorus’ green credentials set it apart and prove comfort doesn’t have to be sacrificed for sustainability. Proudly practically zero-emission, the hotel reuses water in its garden; recycles all papers, plastics, and metals; and produces hot water from excess air-conditioning system energy, making it one of the city’s few hotels to receive Turkey’s Greening Hotel Certification. Just off Taksim Square, staying here puts guests amid Istanbul’s modern city core, steps from the shopping vortex of İstiklal Caddesi but still only a short hop on public transport to the historic quarter of Sultanahmet."

DO NOT GO!!! so many other properties have such better service amenities and will actually care about their guests! Tipping in US dollars had an overzealous doorman! The rest of the people seem to hold my presence with distain! No towels or robe in the spa. Pictures are amazing but service dreadful.! Requested a robe and additional towels and was informed that people steal the towels and this is why she does not want to give them out. Got a bruise on my face from the massage! That's a first! Remote control was glitchy on television, phone in bathroom was broken and phone in bedroom worked intermittently. Landscape outside the."garden view suite." Looked more like an abandoned lot with weeds 1 foot tall, bare areas, and dead branches hanging from the trees.. empty conditioner in the shower and two bottles of shampoo no body wash. Housekeeping removed a blanket and didn't replace same with dishes. No replacement coffee for the coffee maker that was also broken. Enthusiastic doorman arrive to agree that indeed the coffee maker was broken but when I informed front desk, they showed me. We just didn't know how to turn it on. I have operated these coffee makers before and I'm well aware of how to turn it on. Complaint upon checkout, gave me a false assurance that I would be contacted by the hotel. No such contact has been made!! Room service menu does not match room service availability. The list of complaints here is endless, but the worst of all is what little regard this Hotel has for the loyalty of MARIOT BONVOY members!!! do not go here

Gezi Bosphorus Hotel has a very convenient location near Taksim Square and offers nice views of the Bosphorus, which are definite positives. The rooms are clean, but they are quite small and the soundproofing is weak, so outside noise can be disturbing.||||During my stay, no Marriott Bonvoy/Design Hotels benefits were recognized (no breakfast or welcome gift), which was disappointing considering the brand affiliation. Staff were professional, but the atmosphere at reception felt more formal than genuinely welcoming.||||Overall, it was an “okay” stay, but not outstanding. For the price, I expected a higher level of service and attention to detail.

Such an amazing and comfortable experience here at Gezi. My flight was delayed and I had to get a last minute room after midnight. Gezi Hotel took me in no problem and I had a beautiful and affordable place to rest. The design is gorgeous, room service is excellent, and extra toiletries + coffee/tea/water provided are a nice treat! Burak checked me in with great patience, and Jerry checked me out with an infectious energy and warm send-off to my next expedition! I found out Jerry was raised in Los Angeles, CA, USA (just like me). So if you’re an American, he is so helpful in navigating things out here for you! Major plus for American travelers.

Pros / Cons the rooms are small, like the size of a kids room. But the location is ideal for a cross the park walk to Taksim Sq. No frills type of place , but it’s great for peace and quiet. Jerry was the attendant that listened to my needs and solved a huge problem for me . With the help of Ali they made it right for me . I travel at least twice a month and stay at mostly luxury facilities. Thanks to Jerry and his team they treat you like a Diamond resort with the competitive premium. Yes I’m booking my next trip with Geza Hotel soon!!

I would like to express my sincere appreciation to the hotel management for the excellent service and attention to detail. My stay was comfortable and truly enjoyable. A special thank you to Mr. Mostafa at the front desk — his professionalism, warm attitude, and constant smile made a huge difference in my experience. He went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. He is truly a great representative of the hotel. I highly recommend this place and will definitely be coming back in the future. Thank you all

Nice hotel located right at the side of Taksim square. Our room was specious, however, we missed enough storage space for clothes, since there is only a single wardrobe with a few hangers and no drawers and only 1 shelve. Generally it’s quiet since it’s a smaller hotel. However, you can hear coming and leaving room neighbors well and sometimes loud action from outside. The hotel Turkish spa is a nice plus. The breakfast buffet is rather small and does not offer a lot of vegan options. Hotel staff is very friendly and accommodating. We stayed here, because we wanted to avoid the most touristy areas. However, Taksim is not the right place for that. If you like central, nice and not too busy, I recommend Karakoy.

From the moment we arrived at the Gezi Bosphorus Hotel, we were truly impressed. The staff, the food, the service, and the hotel itself were nothing short of phenomenal. The attention to detail and the warm hospitality made our stay incredibly memorable. A special mention goes to Jerry—his dedication and attentiveness went above and beyond anything we expected. He ensured every aspect of our stay was perfect, and his professionalism and kindness truly stood out. It’s rare to encounter such genuine care, and we’re so grateful for his efforts. All the staff were fantastic—friendly, helpful, and always willing to assist with a smile. The food was delicious, the ambiance was elegant, and the view of the Bosphorus was breathtaking. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Istanbul. We can’t wait to return!

Yelp
We chose this hotel during our stay in Istanbul and it was relatively nice !! This hotel is part of the design hotel collection which is within the Marriott portfolio & the hubby is titanium status so it made sense to stay here and use some points Location- was okay! It's near taksim square which is very touristy and it's across the river from the mosques and other sites but I think it was a little cheaper to book this side. Also was a little disappointed with the view. They have both a riverside view and a view facing taksim square. I would have loved the riverfront view instead but we got the taksim view ! The room was quaint but very clean and comfortable! The beds were very nice ! And our room was also very clean, and the housekeeper even folded my Pajamas everyday! And replaced all our soaps! So we definitely liked the housekeeper she was so sweet!! The gym downstairs was okay, pretty small but the place does have a steam room, sauna room, and a small little hammam for use for free of charge for guests so that was fun to explore! We ended up eating sometimes at the hotel restaurant due to time restraints and being tired, and the food was moderate priced. Drinks were more expensive though! The view is decent as it overlooks the river but it's obscured by some trees and buildings since it is on the first floor (which is really the 4th floor) Overall it was a good stay, just wish we had a river facing room to top it all off !

Yelp
Horrible experience! MARIOT platinum member over 70 nights and this was WORST EVER!! Do not be fooled by pics!! Spa is gorgeous but no robe & 1 towel in whole place! I asked and was told people steal so do not provide. Expensive to be bruised (on my face!). Hotel so many broken items: phone(s), coffee maker, no table to use for room service & they do not bring cart. Empty conditioner bottle in shower & 2 shampoo (no body wash). Landscape dead, 1 foot tall weeds, storage used in visible area. Room service menu did not match available food. Worst of all was the attitude when I presented the list. "Thanks so much for your feedback back. Someone will contact you Monday". Still no contact!! Went back Monday, the offered me 1,000 points (worth nothing at any MARIOT!! Will not even get a water!). They do not care about loyalty program, te state of the property nor customer service!! And it is NOT inexpensive!! For less than $100 more- be treated like royalty at Ritz or Park Hyatt!!

Yelp
We stayed here at the beginning of our Istanbul trip. We were supposed to arrive a day later but had a change of plans so we booked one night here. The rooms are a little on the small side but our room has access to a lovely garden and the property itself has a great aesthetic and décor. Breakfast was not bad but dinner options were not great and service at dinner was very slow. Unlikely that we'd stay here again as our experience at the other hotels we stayed at while in Istanbul was much better.
