All the Best Things to Drink at Disneyland - Eater LA

"For chocolate lovers, Ghirardelli off California Adventure’s Pacific Wharf is a must-visit, especially for its frozen hot cocoa. The decadent concoction is the company’s hot cocoa mix blended with ice and milk, then topped with whipped cream and mini chocolate chips, which you’ll want to stir into the drink." - Caroline Pardilla

The ice cream was incredibly delicious, with rich and creamy flavors that melted in my mouth. Each scoop was perfectly churned, offering a delightful texture. The service was exceptional as well, with attentive staff who greeted us with warm smiles and made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our experience to the fullest.

Ghirardelli never disappoints! The chocolate is rich and smooth, and their sundaes are an indulgent treat. Perfect for satisfying any sweet tooth. The ambiance is charming, and the staff is friendly. A must-visit for any chocolate lover! Worth every bite.

The chocolate and icecream is so good. Worth visiting if you like chocolate and icecream. My family always visits at least once each time we visit the park. It's worth dropping by and is not super busy usually.

The Baseline: The Ice Cream Baseline consists of having quality dairy product, variety of flavors/mix-ins, and serving quantity for the price. Ghirardelli hits 2 out of 3. Food: The ice cream base (dairy and non-dairy) is of very high quality where the milk/cream ratio is make the ice cream smooth and silky. The flavor selection is not broad but the assembly with mix ins is high quality and good, probably the best hot fudge I can get. The serving sizes are large enough but this has the added expense of theme park pricing. Service: Service is easy as you order from the register and pickup from the window. Everyone is friendly and smiling as to be expected at a Disney Theme Park. Ambiance: This is a walk up ice cream stand with dedicated seating outside that is in some competition with other restaurant patrons with adjacent establishments. This is in Disney California Adventure so the San Fransokyo theme for Big Hero Six rocks. Top marks for ambience. I rated this a 4 because of price but it is in a theme park and money bleeds from you there anyway.

If you’re chocolate and sundae lover, you’ll like it but not me….taste so sweet. Not choice, because hot and tiring, got some chocolate sundae from here. Service is good and fast, no long queue unlike some other sweet-tooth kiosks.

After dinner, we had a bit of time before the park closed, so we decided to head to Ghirardelli for dessert! We made it just five minutes before closing—phew! We shared an ice cream sundae and a hot chocolate, and also picked up some salted caramel dark chocolates. You really can't go wrong with anything here. The place was spotless, and the customer service was warm and friendly. I love this spot and will definitely keep coming back. While we usually visit the locations in San Diego or Monterey Bay, this one is much closer!

So yummy, we might be on a sugar high for a few days but it is so worth it. The brownies were so delicious, the hot fudge thick and creamy and well the ice cream was divine. I mean it's Ghirardelli so what do you expect?

Finding The Force

Google
We thought instead of getting a Mickey ice cream bar, we would treat ourselves to some thing a bit more extravagant. The Ghirardelli soda fountain was beautifully decorated and had a magical wall that came to life once in a while. We realized after ordering that they do have small children’s ice cream cones, and you do not need to buy any elaborate fudge sundae. Our ice cream treats were delicious and the staff was very friendly.

Yelp
Fantastic Ice Cream and, of course, even better chocolate. This is absolutely my favorite spot to grab a sweet treat in the Disney Parks, and the customizability of the milkshake experience here makes it so there's something for everyone. Order Pictured: Ghirardelli Milkshake -2x 92% Dark Chocolate Squares -1x Peppermint Chocolate Square As a huge fan of dark chocolate, I often find that most places I order milkshakes that are dark chocolate don't really cater to the extra dark levels, but Ghirardelli lets you customize to get that often less sought after experience. Allowing you to pick three squares allows for even more customizability and options, so I usually choose to add a peppermint or other mint square into the mix for the fresher taste. The ice cream and whipped cream are both super creamy and taste delicious when complimented by the chocolate, and I'd highly recommend making a few stops here or at some of the other Ghirardelli locations and trying a few combinations until you nail the one you love.

Yelp
This Ghirardelli location is located in Disney California Adventure. When you walk inside, you can just smell the sweet treats! I miss when they used to give those chocolate samples back in the good ol' days. I used to get a blended caramel banana milkshake. When I asked the worker if they still had it, she said they stopped selling it, but she was so so nice and made a recommendation for me! She recommended the Caramel Quake Shake and adding a banana blended in. The Caramel Quake Shake is a vanilla milkshake blended with 3 milk chocolate caramel squares, topped with whipped cream and caramel sauce. This was delicious! It was on the pricy side, especially for the small size, but my friend and I definitely enjoyed it. Would recommend as a delicious treat every now and then!

Yelp
After a long day at Disney, a sweet treat was definitely in order. I got to the Ghirardelli Soda Fountain around 7:30 PM and there was virtually no line. There are plenty of icecream options, and I do appreciate that there was a dairy free option. I decided to keep the magic of Disney going and tried the Magic Sundae. Was the sundae mind blowing? Not really, but it was good. Was the price of $19 (including tax) worth it? Eh definitely not. The presentation was good and overall it was a solid ice cream sundae. However, I do think this icecream is so decadent, that you really need to share this with 2 or 3 other individuals. And honestly, there are other places in the park where you can get a better scoop of icecream for a better price. I think this place is good if you want to give it a try, but after this first experience I would probably save my money for other treats around the park. The inside was spotless and the staff were pretty attentive to the needs of the guest.

Yelp
Who doesn't love a REALLY good hot fudge sundae?! I've been to the original in San Francisco and it's so nice to be able to experience this amazing chocolate so close to home. The staff is friendly and super quick, we didn't have to wait very long at all. Walked right up to the cashier to order and our number was called several minutes after completing our transaction. They also offer large bags of the chocolate squares and a build-your-own bag option with many different chocolates to choose from. The place has that classic, old-time ice cream parlor feel. The menu here has expanded a bit over the years. I went with the world famous hot fudge sundae, my oldest the ocean beach sea salt caramel sundae, and my youngest the magical hot fudge sundae. There were plenty of tables and chairs outside for groups to sit down and enjoy their ice cream or any other food they may have ordered. It's a nice way to sit and relax and take some time to enjoy the day.

Yelp
GETTING HERE: Navigate to Disney's California Adventure from wherever you are. :) Once at DCA head towards CarsLand, and wander in the area to the right of CL and you'll find Ghirardelli's. REVIEW: I have absolutely zero excuse as to why I haven't yet reviewed Ghiraredelli at DCA. Bad Yelper! And bad Disney adult! :) Sadly, because (cough) the economy (cough) I no longer have an Annual Pass/Magic Key I cannot frequent here as much as I ^should be able to (cough). :) Alas, we press forward. When I go to DCA, Ghirardelli is on my Top 10 list of all things I must do on that visit. Please give me all the chocolate (samples) and all the other ice creamy things. Everything I have ever ordered here as been so good. I mean that. So, very good. My faves are the Sea Salt Caramel items; can I please buy a side of that to take home? Please and thank you. If memory serves me correctly, back in the day they offered guests the (sample) squares of the Pumpkin Spice Ghirardelli as you entered the shop. I loved that most of all of Halloween at the Parks. However, I do not yet know if that's still a thing, sadly. The guest service was always pleasant and that was one of the (many) things that would keep me coming back and giving them my $. We would usually order and go; but for a break, some times we would sit down outside (if we could find an open table) to enjoy our treats. Inside the ambience is so cool! I wish there was seating avail inside, but alas all is well. Definitely 1000% recommend Ghirardelli when you're here. Enjoy it all!

Yelp
We stopped by this really cute location for a quick dessert spot while enjoying Disney's CA Adventure. Vivian G. assisted us and allowed me to take a picture of her name tag so I can shout her out personally for excellent customer service! She was so sweet to ask if we had any military discounts, which we did because my wife is military! We ordered a Nob Hill Chill, and while it was very delicious, I think my mom was right all those years of listening to her tell me that on her side of the family, we can't indulge with too much dairy. My tummy hurt a bit afterwards, but that's due to my own health / digestion. Stop here and support the business if you're craving chocolate!

Yelp
Used to carry semi sweet bars in shock but haven't in forever. Last time I went, I asked a cast member if they had any in the cabinet, she refused to look for me and said in the rudest tone "everyone keeps buying them " and im like "that's...good? You want people to purchase things...." and she just stared at me. Again, not sure what's going on with that Ghirardelli but the customer service is not it.

Yelp
In all my time coming to Disney California Adventure, I have rarely ever stopped by Ghirardelli. Maybe I got tired of it after going to Ghirardelli Square all the time when I lived in NorCal. Either way, had a craving for ice cream so I knew where to go! Ordered the Ocean Beach Sea Salt Caramel Sundae because I absolutely love caramel. Obviously, there's no way an ice cream sundae isn't delicious. Absolutely hit the spot! Only thing is that this is definitely WAY too much for one person. Significantly easier to eat with two people. Cast members here are friendly as you would expect. Worth coming to if you are in the mood, and yes they do take Magic Key discounts!

Yelp
Obviously a trip to Ghirardelli became a priority after I booked a trip to Disneyland. Actually, I didn't even realize there was a Ghirardelli location in California Adventure until shortly before I arrived. We wanted to beat the crowds so we showed up before 9:00 on a Monday morning. I was tempted to just get the standard World Famous Hot Fudge Sundae, but then I noticed something called a Magical Sundae ("Vanilla ice cream and handmade hot fudge topped with whipped cream, sprinkles and dipped waffle ears") on offer and I can't say no to Mickey ears in any context. It was ready in minutes and sure looked glorious. And although the top part of my sundae had hardly any hot fudge sauce, I enjoyed the concoction anyway. That vanilla ice cream is so delicious and the dipped waffle ears were so rich and delectable. The hot fudge sauce, when I finally got to it, was as delicious and irresistible as I'd hoped. However, they must've done something wrong along the way because it had gotten very firm in the ice cream. And since this was my third Ghirardelli sundae this year, I know for a fact it's not supposed to be that way. That little hiccup aside, I enjoyed the heck out of my (extremely expensive) sundae and I only wish I could get it back home.

Yelp
Still the best place for chocolate. It's so rich and delicious! Ghirardelli chocolate is such a treat! This is one of my favorite chocolate makers. It's so creamy and satisfying. This chocolate is good alone, or in a hot chocolate, ice cream, shake or even in a cookie. It's versatile and amazing any way you consume it. This chocolate is not cheap. But you get what you pay for. The service is good. The lines get pretty backed up, but the cashiers do their best. They used to give out a free mini chocolate bar sample when you walked in, but they don't do that anymore.

Yelp
Update: 11/3/23 The Ghirardelli ice cream eatery in DCA is a great place for dessert and refreshments. The ambiance has a soda fountain and candy feel. The service is relatively quick and the staff friendly. Just be aware that the ice cream desserts you order are in the high side price wise. For the Ocean Beach Salted Caramel Sundae and Frozen Hot Cocoa purchased, the cost was over $28 WITH my Disney discount. The review is strictly based on the quality of desserts we ordered. The Ocean Beach salted caramel sundae was excellent. The flavors of the salted caramel, chocolate, and vanilla ice cream bursts in your mouth. The balance of sweetness with the slight salted caramel was very balanced and refreshing. The frozen hot chocolate was excellent too. It was more in the sweet side, which was counter balanced by the whipped cream. The confetti chocolate chips made this frozen hot chocolate standout. If you don't mind paying the steep price for a small cup of premium ice cream for dessert, give Ghirardelli a visit.

Yelp
So, I'm really only reviewing one item, and it's one very expensive ($17ish) item, but it's just soooooo good I can't help not reviewing it. Ghirardelli at Disney California Adventure has the best dairy-free hot fudge sundae I've ever had. I really could tell at all that it's dairy-free...from the delicious ice cream and rich fudge to the light and airy whipped cream (that's also sans any actual milk), this desert is to die for, and even better because there's no milk in it! If you have issues with milk/dairy like I do, you have to try this sundae while you are in DCA!

Yelp
Service was fast The ambiance was so cute and magical Ice creams were amazing and so was my latte Definitely recommend this place for some good ice cream.

Yelp
I'm all about Ghirardelli and their sundaes. As someone who lives in SF and goes to Ghirardelli frequently, I can say this is legit. Honestly, the markup isn't that bad either, considering it's Disney Park food. Same great quality as the Ghirardelli back home, just longer wait times. I really hope they keep this when they remodel the pier to the Baymax themed SanFran Tokyo.

Yelp
Gluten free review: So, we stumbled upon this joint while we were just poking around, you know? My daughter's dairy-free, so we were pumped to find this place with options for her. We were jonesin' for something sweet, and boy, did we find it! I got myself the salted caramel thingamajig (gluten-free, but not dairy-free, mind you), and my daughter went for the gluten-free and dairy-free sundae. Let me tell ya, folks, both of these were a taste sensation! That salted caramel treat? Oh man, it was a flavor explosion in my mouth. I'd recommend sharing though, 'cause it's so dang deliciously sweet. But if you're feelin' sweet greedy, go ahead and dive right in! The dairy free Sunday was a hit as well. The ice cream taste was good. The little chocolate on top didn't have much of a taste but so much appreciation for the dairy free option! The service was nice. Ambiance was fun inside. Not a lot of seating if it's busy. We found a shady spot. You know, sometimes you stumble upon these hidden gems that cater to special diets, and it's like finding a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. This place, it's a winner.

Yelp
Delicious vanilla sundae with whipped cream, sprinkles, and chocolate dipped waffle Mickey ears. About $15 all in but so good! Fast and friendly service.

Yelp
Beautiful inside and out. While you are patiently waiting for your ice cream, you will be entertained by the moving paintings. So happy that this shop is in the Disney California Adventure. Feels like they brought San Francisco to us. Love the variety of their chocolates, drinks and ice cream sundaes. From presentation to flavor, nothing will disappoint you.

Chef Will G.

Yelp
Anyone who loves chocolate has expectations for this place. Hot fudge sundae on chocolate dipped waffle cone. It was chocolate overload for me, but still delicious. I will order this on a plain waffle cone next time.
google avatar

Yelp
Ghirardelli is one of my must haves every time when I come to California Adventure. I've tried all the signature sundae. My top favorites are World Famous and Treasure Island. There is usually a line outside, however the line always moves quickly. The staff is always helpful. I like gabbing the icecream after dinner and sit by the pier to enjoy it. That's how I usually end my day. Even if I'm at Disneyland, I have to hop to DCA to get Ghirardelli.
google avatar

Scottie N.

Yelp
This is the only place open before 10:30 here at San Francisco Square in Disney California Adventure. The small nob hill shake was $17.95. I would not pay That much for a shake here. It was good, but not great and small. Still better to have something than nothing. The staff were helpful but not as friendly as most Disney staff are. They were busy but I can see where they have ropes up that could make the wait much longer than the 20 minutes I waited. I love chocolate but I would not do this again here. Too many other eating options with more variety.
google avatar

Toshi I.

Yelp
If the name is Ghirardelli, guaranteed good! I tried the new dairy free version and loved it! Glad this is an option!
google avatar

Yelp
I hear that's a good place. It is a great location to The community i is exquisite taste of food
google avatar

Melissa W.

Yelp
LOVE it here! If you are looking for a special dessert while at the theme parks...go here! The ambiance is soda shop/chocolate store/Disney experience. Highly suggest getting the Nob Hill with dairy free ice cream. The GM and CMs are very hospitable and service could not be better.
google avatar

Yelp
This was a cute little location to stop at. I always love eating at any of these locations but this one was especially fun because we were able to sit up against the window and watch people walk by. That was fun!

Yelp
Ghirardelli Soda Fountain & Chocolate Shop has the most Yummy Frozen Mocha's this side of the Mississippi or they did. With being short staffed they are trying their best to get customers in and out. We had a bit of a wait, but it wasn't tooo terribly long. The last time I was here I had to come back a couple times in one day the frozen mocha's were so good. However, today they weren't up to their usual standards. After a wait in line, we placed our order, and after another wait we finally got our mocha's. With anticipation of this tasty treat, I was let down. At $9.50 how can this usually creamy deliciousness drink have no flavor. It tasted like a watered down Slurpee. So disappointed. No place to sit inside, so we headed outside where they have tables and chairs. This is were they have a station set up where the lids, straws, napkins and any extras you need for your order. With no place to sit we headed back to wait in line for the next thrilling ride on our list.
google avatar

Nancy M.

Yelp
Oh em gee... so good! I don't know if we just came at a good time or what, but there wasn't much of a wait to order and the order was ready pretty darn quickly. The result was fabulous! So good!!! Lots to devour in this space... ice cream sundaes, shakes, chocolate... whatever makes you happy.
google avatar

Madrian M.

Yelp
Duuuude this spot is a delight! First and foremost, let me tell you about their amazing chocolate. Oh my goodness, it is simply divine! It's not too sweet or too bitter, but just right - a heavenly balance of yummy flavors that leave me wanting more. Their $15 sundae is worth every dollar! Its delish, with layers of whipped cream, chocolate sauce, and nuts delicately arranged on top. It's a feast for my taste buds! Seriously next time you're in Disney California Adventure Park, Pacific Wharf, stop by!
google avatar

Nica L.

Yelp
If they had a ten star option, this place would get it. Why? BECAUSE ITS ICE CREAM! And yes I'm fully aware my caps lock is on & I'm screaming but it's all g because I SCREAM FOR ICE CREAM! Wocka-wocka-wocka! Came by to get some goodies for everyone & I realized I never reviewed this place. The line was long but not unbearable; time went by quick thanks to their fabulous employees. The cashier who took our order was very sweet and got us through the line with efficiency and speed. We ordered a banana split, some create your owns, mocha coffees, a nob hill & a frozen mocha & everyone was extremely happy, as usual. We also got lucky to find a table big enough for all of us to relax on outside. The weather was as perfect as our chocolate yummies and we seemed to be surrounded by nice, healthy people so that was the cherry on top for us. It may not be as big or cool as their San Francisco location, but it's still a great place to be! We Look forward to coming here every time we go to California Adventure!
google avatar

Chris L.

Yelp
Swooped in here during a day at California Adventure and enjoyed a couple treats. I got a chocolate milkshake that was delicious. My son got a scoop of ice cream in a waffle bowl, which he also really liked. Prices are super expensive, but it hit the spot. I'd definitely come back.
google avatar

Gigi L.

Yelp
One of our go-to places when at Disney California Adventure. The ice cream is so yummy! We always get a few kinds to share as a group. The staff is friendly, but it is so chaotic in the store because the lines aren't clear. It takes a few minutes of waiting for the ice cream to be made. But it is definitely worth it!
google avatar

Johnna G.

Yelp
We love visiting Ghirardelli everyone we come to DCA. They are consistent with tastiness and quality. They have a nice seating are outside where you can usually snag a table to rest and enjoy. Plus, it's next to the bread tour where you can get a sample of sourdough. Definitely worth a visit.
google avatar

Yelp
My friend Samantha F. and I were having an adult Disney day. We were in DCA and just finished lunch at Magic Key Terrace. I told her the churros they had there weren't the best so we opted for dessert at Ghiradelli around the corner. We both opted for Frozen hot cocoa drinks after perusing the menu. It definitely hit the spot with the not so sweet but chilly concoction that was perfect for a warm California day. Our cashier was super informative when asked about the different drinks and gave her opinion on which one she enjoyed more. I'm sad that they no longer give out free Ghiradelli chocolates. It's just as well though. Magic Key holders get a discount here which is nice. We sat outside and enjoyed our drinks before deciding on where to eat next. If you're looking for a sweet treat, check out Ghiradelli at DCA.
google avatar

Randi M.

Yelp
We ended up eating a light lunch from another restaurant right outside Ghirardelli's, so dessert was a given. Since I hadn't had a banana split in ages, we went for it and added a brownie! It was one of the top three splits I've had. First, I was pleasantly surprised that they use vanilla, strawberry and chocolate ice creams for their base. The traditional toppings of pineapple, strawberries and hot fudge were included, respectively. The entire dish was covered with a generous portion of whipped cream and chopped pecans, and a cherry. Second, the ice cream was very cold and had not melted even when we were halfway through eating. The only fault is I could have used a bit more pineapple topping. And the brownie, simply delicious. A chocolatey, moist, rich, not too sweet bite of perfection. If my stomach would have allowed I would have had two. I'd definitely share another with a friend or two during my next visit.

Yelp
***PSA for lactose-intolerant ice cream lovers*** I would NOT recommend trying the non-dairy sundae, it wasn't good at all in my personal opinion. I love trying non-dairy ice cream desserts, and I've tried quite a few, so I know it's possible to make delicious treats without milk. This one really missed the mark. I only ate it because I paid about $20 for it. I would have thrown it out otherwise. The sundae was gross and did not satisfy my craving for a tasty treat. Dairy-free guest beware. Service was good and it was a positive experience otherwise. Wish I had asked for a refund for my ice cream, it was that bad.
google avatar

Arlene N.

Yelp
Love coming here while I'm DCA. Over the years they kept adding some vegan options. Finally now they have a new vegan sundae! It's all vegan no need to customize it. It tastes amazing!! Yay for the upgraded vegan options in Disneyland/ California Adventure
google avatar

Vina R.

Yelp
Yessssss! They have a dairy free ice cream sundae version! Sundae was one flavor (vanilla?) That was layered with hot fudge, topped with a cherry and Ghirardelli chocolate square. The ice cream tasted pretty good, but the hot fudge solidified pretty quickly from the ice cream coldness so it really became like fudge. This made it hard to scoop as it was hard. Flavor was there, but too fended once it solidified. I still recommend for all the lactose intolerant people, but would recommend saying to layer or put less hot fudge so it doesn't ruin the ice cream part. I will def buy again especially on a hot day lol.

Yelp
Ghirardelli Soda Fountain & Chocolate Shop is located in Disneyland's California Adventure, next to the Bakery Tour. If you're a magic key holder, this place does offer discounts. There is table seating outside of Ghirardelli. The wait time wasn't too long to place the order, approximately 15 minutes. During that time, we had a chance to review the menu offering which had a wide variety of sundaes, milkshakes, frozen hot chocolates and much more! There was so much on the menu that my partner and I wanted to try! We ended up ordering the following - The Gold Rush Caramel with vanilla ice cream, sea salt, diced almonds, caramel sauce, and whipped cream topped with a Ghirardelli® SQUARES White Chocolate Caramel. ($14.75) Vanilla Milkshake blended with your choice of three Ghirardelli® Chocolate SQUARES from our Pick and Mix table, topped with Whipped Cream and Ghirardelli® Mini Chocolate Chips ($9.95) Our favorite was the Gold Rush Caramel with Vanilla Ice Cream. There was so much caramel sauce! There was a layer of caramel at the bottom of the vanilla ice cream, loaded with diced almonds. It was relatively small, but could easily be shared by two individuals. It was scrumptious especially on a warm day! The Vanilla Milkshake blend was good, but I wouldn't order it again. I'd stick with their dedicated menu selections. Overall we enjoyed our experience at Ghirardelli Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shop, it was just a long wait. After placing our order, we ended up waiting 30 minutes inside the shop until our order was called.

Yelp
So it's hot and you want something refreshing - we'll maybe ice cream is t the best thing for refreshment but it was cold! Ghirardelli Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shop has been a favorite of mine for years. There's generally a long line but it tends to move quickly. They were handing out menus while we waited this time. Unfortunately, supply chain issues affected my selections. They apparently have been out of some flavors since November 2021 (that would be 6 months). Luckily they still have their tried and true Chocolate and Vanilla flavors. They also have some intense Sunday combinations. Their brownies are great with the ice cream. Dispute the limited flavor choices available (I really wanted their Black Cherry Vanilla ice cream), what we ordered was great! Be warned, its not cheap ice cream- but their prices aren't cheap either. 5 people and we were in for just a hair under $60 in ice cream. They also have a full selection of Ghirardelli's chocolates available for sale.

Yelp
Pleasantly surprised with how tasty the vegan/dairy free sundae is!! It's coconut milk based ice cream and in my opinion you can taste it (which to me it's yummy but to some may not) Many textures so you really can enjoy every bit of it. It's a big serving so in my opinion it's easy to share if you're willing to and doesn't leave you with tummy cramps after if you have any dairy sensitivities. I personally choose to get this because I want to run around in the parks and don't want an upset tummy so dairy free sundae is an awesome choice.

Yelp
You can't go wrong with Ghiradelli. We got the ice cream scoops in cones. But you know they have other options like shakes, banana splits, etc. The line can get super long, so plan ahead.

Yelp
My sundae was delicious. But a bit pricey for me! I know I know it's Ghirardelli! But I also went to Clarabelle's hand scoop ice cream and got a 2 scoop on a waffle cone with one topping for half the price as my sundae here! So I think I'll be sticking with Clarabelles. Don't get me wrong Ghirardelli's is really good just don't want to pay over 15 dollars for it.

Yelp
Great place in DCA to take a break and have a refreshing treat! Mind you, it's a bit pricy but this is Disney and Ghirardelli. You do get a discount if you're a magic key holder , military (you have to show ID) or if you have a Chase Credit card. You can get sundaes, ice cream drinks, and those candy squares. Keep in mind on hot days, there will be a line and seating nearby might be hard to find.

Yelp
Don't expect large portions for the price. Sundaes here seem geared as servings for one person making it pretty expensive. Sundaes range from 14-15 dollars. However you are welcomed to share one if you are looking to try them. My husband and I split one magical sundae and were satisfied. The chocolate was so rich and thick that we were both sick of the chocolate by the end of the dessert. I'd imagine if we both had our own, we personally would not have liked how much of the dessert there was. If you love chocolate though, you'll probably love it. Overall it's pretty worth it for the price. This place uses Ghirardelli products! They sell their chocolates as well. Would recommend for dessert in disneyland.

Yelp
The service was amazing! I went to order the chocolate shake which was an amazing drink! The store is located in San Fransokyo Square, which gives it a futuristic vibe. All seating is outdoors so it may be hard to find a place to sit during the rain, otherwise it was a very nice store to visit!

Yelp
Was lucky to come here without a line and finally try the frozen hot cocoa which was totally worth the hype! There are lots of delicious ice cream concoctions you can enjoy or you can even buy their famous chocolate squares to take home or give as souvenirs.

Yelp
Drinks are tasty! Will recommend if you want something drink. I will definitely try their sundae next time I come back to Disney!

Yelp
If you're in the Disney California Adventure park and hankering for ice cream... well look no further. Check out Ghirardelli Soda Fountain on the Pacific Wharf. Ice cream, shakes, sundaes, frozen drinks, cookies, and brownies. They got you covered. The pricing is on par to Disney's markup. For instance a scoop of ice cream is $7 and small shakes run $7.50. Prices go up from there. Plus did you know that most Ghirardelli products are made with fructose corn syrup, even their signature chocolate sauce. Hey... you're at a Disneyland... there are not a lot of food with no additives. Folks in my crew sure dig this place. It's a traditional stop for us.

Yelp
Went there today and walked out. Used to go there every trip to Disneyland or to SF and even Monterey. My favorite was the Muir Woods Sunday. Never eating here at this location again unless something major changes. They used to hand out a sample piece of chocolate which was nice. That is no more. Their ice cream is in the running for great ice cream, however it ain't good enough to justify $10.50 for a single scoop. And their Sundays are definitely not worth $19.95 for a double scoop Sunday with various toppings. The pricing is beyond taking advantage of their fans. Ice cream just ain't worth that much. Check out the Mobil order menu and see the prices for yourself if you don't believe me. It's just insanity.

Yelp
Ghirardelli is located in the Wharf area of the Pier. Kind of hidden. Typical Ghirardelli set up. Reminds me of the SF location because of its seaside set up. They have a sundae and drink menu. They also have a shop to buy treats to go. Quick and easy service. Perfect on a hot day. The kiddos enjoyed it a lot. Gold Rush Caramel Sundae - $13.75 - Very plain caramel sundae. Super sweet. It definitely wakes you back up. 4 of us could not finish it because of the sugar level. Small for the price.

Yelp
Looks better than it taste. I've had alot better ice cream for cheaper. Got the marshmallow sundae. Ice cream was very thick and not very creamy. Hot fudge was put on the inside of the cup and so was cold and thick as opposed to hot and helping to melt the ice cream. It was so big that I wished I would have split it with my husband. It's expensive too about $15. So won't be returning. McDonald's hot fudge sundae is better.
