Spacious spot with games, TVs everywhere, a solid bar, and lots of seating. The mistletoe mojito was as pretty as it was refreshing – festive and sweet. The chicken bites were perfectly done, mildly spicy, and nicely balanced in texture. The ghostfire sando was delicious, with an unexpected but welcome sweet-and-sour kick. Service stood out. Extra ranch arrived promptly, and even around 10 PM, the staff were upbeat and welcoming. QR code ordering made things effortless, parking was easy, and the crowd brought great energy – music, dancing, and lots of smiles!

So great to see Ghostwood in good hands. Owners Amanda and Dan have done good adding more drink options, from Non-alcoholic beers, to wine, cocktails, and kid friendly drinks, as well as a solid snacks and bites menu to make this place super friendly for any type of party. The new location allows for special event bookings in the second, very spacious room, while parking is still super convenient and cheap compared to other more popular areas of the Bay. Trivia Wednesday are already on and more fun is coming in the form of an arcade, open mic night, and maybe even karaoke and/or live music. The brewmaster Tom is also doing great work. The seasonal pumpkin spice lager smells as advertised great and isn't too spicy in flavor, but lures you in with that point of sweetness that makes this light lager more refined. Brussel sprouts with blue cheese is also back on the menu as of last Wednesday, super yum, but not as good paired with the malty lagers - well at least for me, I don't like things that taste bitter and the sweet in the brussel sprouts ( which is so yum ) made the malty beers a bit more bitter. I recommend the lighter ones like la luz, the Mexican lager, to pair - super smooth and yum. Looking forward to coming around more often!

Ghostwood is a fun place to watch a game if you’re into sports. They have plenty of tvs, and everything is clean, new, and bright. There’s a lot of natural light and wood tones which give it a warm feel. It’s a vibrant addition to the Redwood City downtown scene, and can be lively and loud on game days. The food was reasonably good (I liked the pizzonada’s the best - kind of like a giant pizza pocket with dipping sauces, salty and fatty and delicious) and the portions were generous, although they have almost no good options for common dietary restrictions (no vegan/gf/dairy free). My friends like their $5 beers in the afternoons on weekends, and I hear they’re starting trivia nights on Wednesdays soon. The service seemed to depend on who you get - our bartender was excellent; she was really high energy, friendly and attentive. But another waitress who was older and had a bob was very grouchy and unfriendly, gave unsolicited advice, and really didn’t seem up for customer service, at least on the day we were there. Maybe just stick to sitting at the bar and you’ll do fine. If you want to have a casual brunch or dinner with a friend in the area, definitely give it a try. It has kind of a friendly, homey vibe that makes it an approachable place to hang out.

Everything was perfect. Quickly became one of, if not our new favorite brewpubs. My wife ordered the Glowing Embers and we took a crowler home, it was sooo good! I ordered the Hannibal Nectar, but the food! Oh the food was amazing! I had the bone-in wings, got two orders, Buffalo was def one of the best flavored Buffalo wings I’ve had with just a slight crisp them and the tequila lime jalapeño wings were not spicy but sweet and awesome flavor. Shared an order of the Brussel sprouts, you can taste the olive oil roast with a creamy sort of cheese on top, insane! My wife ordered the shrimp Baja tacos, refreshing and topped with the most amazing mango salsa. We ordered my daughter the chicken nuggets and fries, not expecting the nuggets to be juicy and the fries were bomb! The staff was extremely attentive, they were very knowledgeable and just great people! We got to meet the owners who work just as hard as their staff and are just as kind! Can’t wait to come back this place! Thank you guys for an amazing experience for our family outing!

Food items on the menu not too shabby. The cheese curd appetizer is pretty damn tasty. Customer service-wise was mediocre. Seemed like they we're short-staffed because they were not able to tend to situations like a broken glass on the floor. Not okay. Live DJ Friday nights.

This place has a great vibe and the TVs + games are great.... And the food is just bad. It's $20+ for a dry burger / sandwich and reheated fries. I've been here twice now and wouldn't recommend the food at all.

I wanted to come here because a lot of people have been. Pros: + love the games they have! We played the mini cards against humanity! They also have a pool table and arcade games). + the environment. Cons: - I ordered a Caesar salad with buffalo chicken. The buffalo chicken was great! But the Cesar salad had little dressing. - When the food was delivered the servers didn't seem happy. - I felt bad asking for more dressing . They didn't seem friendly.

Stopped in with some friends for after-dinner drinks and had a great time! The vibe was relaxed and welcoming, perfect for winding down the evening. I ordered the Blushing Barrel Sour and really enjoyed it; the prickly pear flavor was super refreshing and added a nice twist. It was well-balanced, not too sweet or too tart. Service was friendly, and the drink menu had a lot of interesting options. I'd definitely come back to try something new next time.

My husband and I went here on a date night for some drinks and snacks and had the best time. Their margaritas are so good and we really enjoyed the sampler platter of appetizers! I do kind of feel like services could have been quicker but for a bar atmosphere it was chill and so were we!

Cool bar to hang at for the football games! Lots of people there, staff was young. Food is solid but pricey. I had the shrimp pasta which was yummy but a bit smaller portion. Beer menu was good but they didn't have my first two choices. I'm not really down on the peninsula as much but I'd maybe stop back again in the future.

I love what they've done to the place. Great ambience, great place to watch sports, food, and drinks and games. The only thing I have to complain about is how loud it is in there especially in the game room. I had to go outside it was a little too much.

Food came out almost immediately and the place was pretty poppin on a Thursday night with the hockey game on. I tried the Baja tacos with shrimp which were pretty tasty. Also ordered the saddest nuggets and fries i've ever seen which came with what looks like reheated frozen fries with 5 small nuggets. I enjoyed the different types of beer when i ordered the flight

Ghostwood Kitchen is an absolute gem in downtown Redwood City! The space strikes the perfect balance between modern and cozy--with an open layout, chill vibe, and plenty of seating. What really sets it apart is the arcade area and stash of board games that make it feel like the kind of place you could easily spend hours in. I ordered the ceasar salad and my friend ordered the buffalo chicken salad (as wraps) and WOW--bursting with flavor, super fresh, and honestly some of the best I've had anywhere. Prices were more than fair for the quality, and the service was just as impressive--everyone was friendly, upbeat, and genuinely welcoming. One in our party did some searching and found Ghostwood. We easily found a table for our party of six. All tables have QR codes on them, so you just order everything online. And then pay online when done. It was pretty easy. Tho Idk if they didn't get our full order as half our drinks showed up first and the other half were no where to be found. We had to flag down a server to ask. They quickly remedied and sent us our remaining drinks. I was shocked by their pricing here. Very fairly priced. I don't know if there is some kind of HH pricing on Friday nights, but I'm always surprised if I see any drinks under $10 these days, let alone $8 or under. I got the espresso martini. It was fine. Too sweet for me, but okay for my friend. I like my coffee black, no sugar, so I found myself wishing they went lighter on the sweetness. Idk if you are allowed to note this on their online ordering system. A nice place to grab a drink. It's not on the main road, so a bit more chill which I happen to like. The selection of artisanal beers and selections of cocktails are great! It's a fun casual place. Great for get togethers. Food is really good for the selection. I'm usually not a fried pickles fan but Ghostwood converted me. Orders are easy via the QR code. Everyone can order and PAID for their own selections without the hassle of figuring out the bill. The only drawback is that it can get REALLY loud when there are large groups competing each other. The arcade is fun with pinball machines. I will definitely go back with my group of friends.

They have an amazing half off all drinks deal on Friday nights. They have some cards and games that you could play. There's sports playing on the TVs (and an OJ Simpson documentary when I was there for some reason). It's a fun casual vibe here. But tbh the cocktails aren't very yummy here. All of them kind of catfish you with yummy sounding ingredients but they end up being very strong and not a lot going on other than the alcohol flavour. (But for the price, it's a good deal). The beers on the other hand are a lot yummier. Next time I would love to try more beers here.

Soooo...I ain't afraid of no GHOST! Ahhh!! Such a lovely surprise this cute little foodery in downtown RWC! They have an interesting menu of gastropub grub, and it will make you want to order a few appetizers and entrees! I ordered the Ghostwood Trio to start, you pick 3 appetizers off their app menu. I picked Fried Shrimp, Fried Pickles, Cheese Curds. Dang, you can really get carried away here. The apps come with loads of sauces! I must note that a very kind Angel marked all the names of the sauces on the container lids (my order was to-go), so sweet and thoughtful! Thank you! The Cheese Curds are really good! The shrimps were a little over done and I'm not a fan of fried pickles, that's just me. My entree I ordered the Sliders with Fries. The sliders a smaller smash burgers and really, really good. The little buns are grilled and the burgers are smashed with American cheese. The fries are just the way I like them, bigger than average and crisp but soft. Loved this! The smash burgers are perfect. You can order an additional burger for an extra minimal charge. They're really good. Please give these kind folks a try when you're in the area. Really great gastropub grub, casual and tasty!

We have been here several times for happy hour (4pm-6pm) on a Friday. I'm not sure about weekends. They have the best deals! They have $5 beers and $6 sparkling wine. They got deals on selected cocktails like old fashioned, lemon drop, PaNoma, etc. They allowed dogs but outside patio only now. They have food menu too but it's regular price. We had the Parmesan fries. It was thick and crispy. Service is friendly and quick. The staff lets you sample the beers before you commit to a pint. They got arcade games like pinball, basketball, stuff animal claw machine, Mario cart, and foosball too. Parking on street or parking lots nearby.

Ghostwood is a really chill spot to come grab a bite & a beverage and just hang out with friends and family playing games. Prices are a little bit high but the food is really tasty. I got the sampler trio and enjoyed the bbq chicken bites, cheesecurds and salad. My man thought the nachos were pretty bomb too. 100% on the drinks, the melontini was very sweet and had the texture of melon for sure. The mi casa was a little tart but still very fruity an flavorful. My man said his drink tasted just like a good and strong Sasparilla. All in all, this place is a real treat. We didn't get around to the arcade but it looks like everyone I there was having a great time, families included.

Popped in for late night drinks and snacks with friends. We got one round of drinks and an order of the fried cheese curds. Staff was friendly. Drinks came out quickly. Cheese curds were a bit on the oily side but a unique and super tasty dish. Mostly large tables that were set a bit close together. I don't know if this is the best use of space because most tables were only half full but back to back tables felt like a tight squeeze.

We came here when they first opened and didn't want everyone to know about it because we didn't want it to get too crowded. I know selfish. Haha They recently renovated the place and we love it now because there's extra space for the kids to run around, more tables, floor games, more TVs and it's not too crowded. However, I think their chef changed because we loved their pastrami egg rolls which they don't have anymore. Their food is still decent. We ordered fried pickles, buffalo chicken sandwich with ceasar, kids chicken and fries, kids Mac n cheese, salad, chicken tacos, chicken salad, and I tried a seasonal jacked up beer which was tasty. Oh we also got pizza bread which was a little disappointing. The owner was really nice too.

I took my girls here for lunch and to satisfy our cravings for chicken wings. This place did not disappoint!! The service was quick, friendly and they even offer both board games AND arcade while waiting (or after while digesting their delicious bites)!! Now let's talk FOOD! The wings were perfectly cooked and the meat literally fell off the bone. The garlic, truffle fries and fried pickles were tasty, addictive and paired lovely with their house made sauces!! The beer they brew in-house was crisp, fresh and delicious! I loved everything about this place and plan to revisit our "new friends" and local chicken wing "to go" VERY SOON. The ambiance is comfy, cool, family friendly and is hosted by some super cool staff, we felt we could call our new friends. We like to watch sports games and play trivia here. The beer is quite good. Service is pretty speedy. The food is hit or miss (burger, sliders, and wedge salad are yum; nachos are big but served cold). My biggest pet peeve is that most of the chairs don't have backs. When I'm watching a game for 3+ hours, a chair back makes a big difference! However, I do appreciate the new table layout which makes it easier for everyone to see the TVs. Could use more TVs!

We were looking for a spot to grab a burger and a brew and found this place on Yelp. What a find! We came in in on a Sunday evening around 5. They were playing 90's hip hop music and there was just a great overall vibe. We had smash burgers with fries and omg! Delicious! We followed up with a few arcade games and of course the basketball game. We are definitely coming back!

Great service and fun cocktails, and this is the only local place I know to get fried pickles! Their fries are always cooked perfectly and their dipping sauces are homemade. Great selection of bourbons. They recently added more space and big tvs on one side, so now you can watch your favorite sportsballz if that's your thing.

Rustic Vibe with a great selection of home-brewed beers. The Fried Chicken Wings should be Michelin starred. Service is always quick and punctilious. When I want wings... THIS IS the go-to. Plus: they now have a separate room from the bar/dinning that offers foosball tables, pool tables and a few basketball arcade game machines and additional dining. Makes for a great date-night, happy-hour get together or even a work lunch outing.

Went here to get some drinks and a snack on a weeknight. Ordered the extra crispy and the gold rush and some lemon pepper wings. Really liked both beers. Tasty, light and refreshing. I feel their beer menu has too many IPAs on it, a bit more variety would be great. But the lagers we had were good. Wings tasted great. Great lemon pepper seasoning. Atmosphere is relaxed and seems like a good spot to watch a game.

We had a great time at Ghostwood Kitchen on Monday afternoon! The Mexican lagers were delicious, the food was super tasty and the service was fantastic. We sat outside with our tiny dog and our server was friendly and accommodating. The draft list was enticing with a variety of options and styles. We tried the Taco Salad and a Ghostwood Trio (appetizer sampler). The Taco Salad was gigantic and flavorful. On the Trio we ordered Brussels sprouts, fries and some chicken bites. Everything was cooked perfectly and the kennebec fries are extra crispy. Ask for some extra sauce, they have some amazing housemade sauces & glazes. The price point for food is definitely extremely high, which would be the one factor deterring me from being a regular here. That said, I'll definitely stop by next time I am in the area.

The food and drinks were fantastic. We've been there several times and have always loved the ambiance and service. We will definitely be going back again!

Fyi, the "blue bbq" sauce has a blueberry jam. Huh? The chix nuggets showed up purple! How would we know that? Literally the word blueberry doesn't exist on the whole menu. I asked and he said it was their most popular item. It wasn't bad, just unexpected and not something we would have ordered. Ok, we're GenX so maybe we're just a little old for this place. Paloma's were strong. Trio sampler was ok. Lots of sportzy arcade games and lots of tv screens showing one sportzy thing or another. I think we're just not their demopraphic. Service was good. Not trying to hate, just not our kind of place. I'm sure it's fun for the right crowd.

Wow, this experience could not be worse. We came for the 6pm trivia and by 6:30, it hadn't even started! I ordered a hot apple cider with whiskey. Order placed at 5:48 and I didn't receive it till 6:27. It was lukewarm and there was OIL on the top!! $16 and undrinkable. My fries... were clearly re-fried. THEY REUSED THEM. When my friend ordered fries 30 mins later, they came out normally. Sadly, her lemonade was literally water with a lemon squeezed in. DO NOT COME HERE.

Had a blast last night for my 50th bday here! From the initial inquiries to the night of the event, it was as smooth as could be! Unbelievable set up! The food and drinks top notch as well as the venue itself! Great staff, very accommodating throughout! All of my guests agree! Looking forward to future visits! Highly recommend for a night out!

Best lunch I've had in Redwood City, and I've lived here since 2016. My wife and I ordered the appetizer sampler with fried shrimp (perfectly crispy and delicious), brussels sprouts (rich and flavorful), and wings with "blue" barbecue sauce (amazing). I had the Redwood Rodeo Burger, and was blown away by how perfectly crispy the smashed patties were at the edges. My wife had the Fried Chicken Sando and devoured it despite her usual fried chicken skepticism. The fries were unbelievably crispy on the outside and soft (and hot!) on the inside. Plus, because of the apps, we had a variety of dipping sauces for everything. Service was great, as was my espresso martini! We went on a Wednesday at 1pm and the place was empty. Redwood City, do better. If anywhere in downtown deserves to be a hip hangout spot with beer, wine, cocktails, delicious food, video games, pinball, pool, etc., it should be this one. Do yourself a favor and check it out! (Tiny negatives not worth deducting any points: My Caesar salad was a bit under-dressed and I wish there were more regular-height tables with chairs.)

I was saddened to see Ghostwood Brewery close down during Covid. Their food situation was meager, but they were only a 5-minute bike ride for me; and they offered a constantly changing selection of good - sometimes imaginative - beers. My guess is they suffered from a lack of space for outdoor seating - a poor recipe in 2020. I still miss their triple IPA, called "Clearly Dangerous." (It was.) Fast forward to recently, when an alert friend told me a new brewpub had opened up in the Redhood. And the name "Ghostwood" was attached. Wait..What? I made a beeline here the following Saturday; and I brought some friends. The new version of Ghostwood is a much different formula than before: Food first, beer second. In other words, now this was a casual, pub-style restaurant that wants to feature local beer. And happily they teamed up with Ghostwood for the latter (still hiding in the shadows, apparently). The bad part: no more long and ever-changing list of beers. It appears to be a standardized list of "usuals" befitting a restaurant. But at least these usuals were well-made: -- Bayshore Pale Ale: clean and dry with a fruity/citrus nose. Even had a spritziness; perfect for a hot day. -- Redwood Creek IPA: They had two IPAs, but this was my favorite of the two. slightly dank and juicy. Well-balanced with just the right piney bitterness -- Hotel Sequoia Porter: OK, it's hard to make a bad porter if you use good ingredients. This one had proper mix of coffee and chocolate tones. As for the food, I was a little worried about the lack of pescaterian items on the menu. But I was surprised to discover that all chicken sandwiches can substitute grilled cauliflower for the chicken (not advertised by the staff, but visible on the phone menu). I got the BBQ "chicken" sandwich with this option, and it was so stellar that I actually came back again the next week to order it again. So good! I'm not sure when I will branch out beyond this. I'm normally a big tipper, but my biggest issue here was...the tipping. There was no staff present to consult on the menu. We figured out our food and beer choices on our phone; and we paid for it...on our phone. (That was the only option). The one, single thing the staff did was bring our food and drinks to the table. And for that task? - An automatic 18% was added to all bills for gratuity. Like I said, I'm happy to tip when there's a continual level of service. But this just felt like the restaurant skimming the customers so they could pay their staff a lower wage. One star loss for that. Still...I'll probably return.

I've now been here more than five times. And I wanna make sure everyone knows that they have an absolutely insane Smashburger ! This burger is fantastic . Do I need to explain it? no, but if you like a good crispy smash burger with a great potato bun this is it. Since they brew their own beer, there's plenty of choices and I know you will like the one that you find that suits you. They've expanded because of demand so enjoy when you can.

Went for the first time last week and thoroughly enjoyed the time. The staff are super nice and their fries were great. With the four tv screens at the bar, they had Star Wars, two different sports, and Blades of Glory. Truly something for everyone!

Overall great experience, upon arriving, I was great by the bartender and decided to sit outside. Order is easier by utilizing the QR code and food arrived promptly. The burger was tasty and pickle fried perfectly. At the time of ordering, I didnt realize how large of portion I would be recieving. As I honestly could t finish everything!

Great ambiance! We enjoyed the games they offer. Owner is really friendly and turned the music up when we asked! Lots of unique tequila selections. They also have a fun arcade area! We played Mario Kart.

Food and drinks were incredible! We went Saturday afternoon and it was super chill, with no wait. We had some of their brunch options and I ordered the buffalo salad which I'll definitely come back for. For drinks, I tried their IPA and their house tequila drink which was so amazing -- that I actually left with a bottle of their tequila My husband and I can't wait to come back again

This place is self-service (seating & ordering). Food service was pretty fast but food just mediocre.

Everything at Ghostwood is amazing!! They have great beer and cocktails. The menu is also really great. When I went I tried a bunch of apps and loved them all. I can't wait to come back and try more things. We came for trivia which was so much fun. The ambiance is casual and fun. The service was quick and friendly. It's neat they have brunch too! And a couple tables outside if you want to bring a pup!

Amazing new neighborhood spot with great drinks, delicious food, and fair prices. We came here for the first time on a Saturday afternoon and there was no wait to self-seat at a table. The menu is full of great bar type food and lunch staples. The drinks are fun, fresh, and delicious. The prices for drinks are standard but we really found the food to be a great deal for the really big portions. We 3 appetizers and 1 entree and it was more than enough food for us 4. $14 for an appetizer of that size actually is super fair. The Peanut Chicken Salad was my favorite - so light, fresh, and filling. Will absolutely return to try out more of the drinks and food menu.

Best kept secret and best hamburger in redwood city. It was so good I went back the next day and got the same thing, smash burger and garlic fries . New favorite place.

The food was delicious and beers were tasty. We had the shrimp tacos and Thai peanut chicken salad. The serving sizes were excellent, and very filling. The service and ordering method was very efficient. The atmosphere is great, for both kids and adults to play games and have fun. Will definitely be back!

So I've been coming to Ghostwood a lot and have generally had a good experience. But the woman working behind the bar literally verbally assaulted me after telling her we were missing a drink tonight 5/30. She repeatedly put her hand in my face and told me she doesn't care. She then tried to gaslight me and say that I was the one being rude. All I asked was if she couldn't make the drink, if I could be refunded. She refused and then I asked if I should dispute with my credit card. After this, she completely lost it. I did not raise my voice nor was I rude. I work in the service industry as well so I understand. She was very busy so I get that she was stressed but her behavior was just wild. I've never experienced anything quite like it. Sad to say I won't be back anytime soon. The management should do some retraining perhaps, or make sure this woman's values align with theirs. If I ever talked to a guest the way she talked to me, I'd be canned immediately. Not saying this needs to happen to her, but mgmt needs to get her attitude in check.
