The Hit List: New Mexico City Restaurants To Try Right Now - Mexico City - The Infatuation

"Gia, the new sister restaurant of Cana, nails that elusive middle ground: the Italian spot is casual enough for a weekday lunch with kids (the neapolitan pizzas are a hit), but grown-up enough for date night, thanks to solid dirty martinis and a tight wine list. It’ll make you feel comfy from the get-go—wood-paneled booths inside, shelves lined with natural wine, and a sprawling sidewalk setup built for people-watching. The menu dives into Italian comfort with just enough of a modern edge: buttery almejas chione gratinadas pack a chile kick under a crisp panko shell, and the potato pizza is loaded with gruyère, lard, and a drizzle of spicy honey." - guillaume guevara

Very good branding in IG, that’s why i went. Table for two. Great at reservation, easy. Now, at the place, a regular design, not for the design enthusiasts, even though i love the glass brick touch. Ordered two wines, they didn’t have one of the two they offer by the glass; 3/5 food, plain. For me, expensive for what they propose in terms of food and experience. The worst came in the end. They don’t take international VISA cards! In a city like cdmx where tourism and digital nomads are strong. My girlfriend had to pay because they did not have an option/solution. I’ve been to almost every restaurant in cdmx and nah, i wouldn’t come back here. Was my worst place in my last trip to a city i love a lot.

We went on opening night and had the best meal ever. The green salad sounds simple but was super fresh, amazingly seasoned and tangy from amazing sharp cheese We had the potato and aged Lardo pizza, really yummy too - perfect dough. You can tell it had been cold proved slowly for ages and the Lardo was 10/10 Excited to go back. The team were super friendly and really hospitable Thanks xx

I was thoroughly impressed by a Gia. We went on a Friday night and it was a bustling yet cozy atmosphere. The staff were all very pleasant and professional. Our server and one of the owners, Isabela, was very knowledgeable about the menu and their wines and explained them all and even let us taste a few different ones before deciding on one. The menu was simple and not overwhelming but had a good variety of dishes in each category. And best of all the food was excellent. They were relatively simple dishes but extremely flavorful and fresh. Spaghetti vongole was delicious, the sauce a lovely consistency. Our pizza was very flavorful and the crust very tender. For dessert, we had the banana split. I was naive in thinking a banana split is just a banana split. This one was decadent; with cherry, manzana and vanilla ice creams, candied peanuts, the numerous flavors were unique and complimentary. Great place to come for a date.

Incredible new restaurant right off the park in Condesa. Some of the best Italian food I’ve had in CDMX. Every single detail has been so thoughtfully planned from the small batch coffee to the diverse wine selection. We had the anchovies with focaccia to start, the baked clams, celery salad and pepperoni pizza. Ended with the blueberry tart and chocolate ice cream drizzled with fresh Italian olive oil and salt. Each and every bite was bursting with exquisite flavor. Will definitely be back on our next trip to Mexico and thank you Isa for the incredible hospitality and service!!

This lovely spot on the corner has creative Italian dishes that are sure to please! Every bite was dynamic and interesting, and the service was off the charts. We were so happy to have happened upon this restaurant by chance.
