Giano Review - Ludovisi - Rome - The Infatuation

"Giano, which is located in the W hotel, has a prix-fixe lunch special that’s one of the best deals in Rome. After you’re seated in their swanky dining room with velvet chairs and sofas, you’ll get a complimentary bread basket filled with crispy housemade focaccia, wheat bread from Antico Forno Roscioli, and flavorful breadsticks, alongside whipped ricotta with olive oil and a dusting of ground capers. That alone could be a meal, but you’ll also get to pick an antipasto and pasta, like the zesty fennel and orange salad and, without exception, spaghetto taratatà. This dish packs a punch: al dente, made-in-house spaghettone is bathed in lemon, garlic, olive oil, and chili flakes, then topped with toasted breadcrumbs, parsley, tuna bottarga, and grouper carpaccio that tastes straight from the Sicilian coast." - Annie Replogle

We enjoyed the cocktails. There were three types of martinis on the menu, each with its own unique character. We particularly liked the martini made with oyster water, which comes with an oyster on the side, allowing for an enjoyable cocktail pairing. This has become a favorite of ours, and we order it every time. The melon-flavored martini paired with prosciutto is also outstanding, making it hard to choose a favorite. While the classic cocktails are fantastic, the bartenders here are highly skilled and experienced, so you can also ask for something unique based on your preferences. We've discovered new favorites this way and found them to be delicious. The staff is very friendly, making it a comfortable hotel bar experience. On Thursdays and Saturdays, dinner time features a DJ set, creating a great atmosphere. There's also a well-regarded seafood menu, so we're looking forward to dining here during dinner time on our next visit.
