The coffee: The cortado was interesting. Pretty acidic and I would say very fruity. It seems like a darker roast and had a very full flavor. It was served very hot (yay) and in a really neat cup as opposed to the usual clear glass or mug. It gets points for presentation too. It had a very different flavor profile from what most other coffee shops in Houston have. I think the fruitiness kind of defines it. I don't love it, but it was good and I would come back for the change.
The service: Excellent! The barista was super friendly, and chatted with us and other customers. My experience fell towards the upper end for me.
The shop: They have a really strong brand image. The decor, drinkware, signage, lights, and even the latte art push the space theme. I like it. Very few places attempt theming like this, and fewer pull it off. It's very clean, classy, and open. There's a good amount of natural lighting too. It is a bit small, and the seating is pretty limited though. There are some outlets, but they are pretty inaccessible from most of the seats. If this place does take off, I can see it being more of a grab and go. They do have wifi though, just ask! Also, it is a bit hard to see from the street, but just know it's at the Headquarters.
Overall: It's a cool new coffee shop worth trying out. If the coffee was more to my taste, I wouldn't hesitate to give them that extra star.
