Easily some of the best coffee we've had the delight of getting to enjoy! Their honey roasted coffee has such a delightful taste to it that sticks with you well after finishing a cup. Snagged a tapa dolce latte, and a toasted sandwich. Ended up making one heckuva noise of delight at first bite/sip from the mix of flavor, and mouth feels. The atmosphere is fresh, friendly, and superbly welcoming as a community coffee spot. Gonna be dragging all our coffee lovin' friends out to here for a good cuppa. 💚💚💚

I've now been in twice and I really love the coffee here! It's so interesting and complex. I also really liked the flaky pastry with guava and cheese. So good. Wish there was parking so I could drop in before work on workdays but for now it's just a great stop on a long walk.

YAY! They took the black plastic down?!! Maybe I haven't missed my chance to visit this place? Unfortunately, I came after open hours. But now that I know they are still in business I look forward to visiting! The door says: 8am -1pm [Previous Post I was looking forward to visiting Giddy Sloth, but I think I missed my chance? I'm not sure if this place is forever closed or what? All the windows & doors are covered with black plastic. The website is still up & running with no mention that they are closed for remodeling or on vacation or etc?]

Me encanta Giddy Sloth Cafe! One of the only (if not only) Costa Rican places in the city, Giddy Sloth is slangin' some seriously delicious coffee, breakfast sandwiches and sweets. Carlos the owner is as nice and helpful as they come and informed me that they roast all their single origin Costa Rican beans in-house! I highly recommend the Tapa Dulce Latte - not too sweet with a unique flavor. Go for the croissant bread for your breakfast sandwich (so buttery, so good) and get all three homemade condiments on it - you won't be disappointed. Though I am fond of the tamarind ketchup. Go for broke and get the Tamal de Elote - like a mochi dessert but wow, such flavor. Can't wait to come back here!

This place serves only Costa Rican coffee (arguably the best kind) that the owner, Carlos, sources himself. The food is excellent but the coffee is what makes it special. There is clearly so much passion and knowledge behind what they serve. Getting to talk to Carlos about his clear love of Costa Rica and it's beans is also a treat. The use of space is extremely clever, with lots of light and plants and even several stools to sit. It can get pretty crowded at peak busy, it's definitely a tight squeeze, and because there's usually only 1-2 people behind the counter, the wait time is longer than what folks have learned to expect from Starbucks. But this isn't Starbucks, it's a small business that shines with care!

This coffee shop is amazing if you actually like coffee. They always are so informative and you can tell theres so much care and attention to the coffee they’re making. Not the place to go for super sweet drinks, theres a million other places for that. They know coffee beans here and if they ever did a small coffee roasting class, I would definitely attend. I personally love that they’re a dog friendly shop. The place is a little bit tight on space but the little details are cute, I love all the small metal animals that decorate their plants. This place has heart and the baristas are real coffee people, I love that they’re here. I moved away but come back whenever I’m in the area. I think it’s a bright spot in the community and really worth a stop by.

It is our first time in Giddy Sloth and the owner was wonderful in knowledge of coffee and making our experience here memorable! We were passing by and stopped by to visit a friend. We highly recommend for coffee lovers to visit as he has unique coffee blend from costa rica !

Really cute little shop and the owner was behind the counter when my friend and I came here this morning. Really lovely personality and super helpful and enthusiastic. I think I overheard from a convo he was having w some regulars that his name is Carlos and honestly I hope this place has a long run since it seems like a cozy and well loved little neighborhood gem! If I lived in the area it would definitely be my go-to, but as it is I’ll just have to stop by whenever I’m in the area :) Thank you for the delicious drinks, food, and warm visit!

Giddy Sloth was recommended to me by my husband who had work in the area so he took me to try it. Location is small but there's outdoor seating so it's not terrible if you come during the rush hours. It's a very chill hole-in-the-wall spot you've probably passed without noticing. Locals know it though, so it has a friendly neighborhood vibe that's very welcoming. The owner is a very nice guy and super passionate about coffee and can tell you the ins and outs in a way you couldn't get from any other coffee shop! His service is always amazing and he treats every customer like their VIPs. The coffees are great and the themes of drinks and snacks are Costa Rican themed and have amazing flavor! You won't find a pumpkin spice latte or a Frappuccino here, but you'll find something better. Try the special syrup for fall: orange, tamarind, cinnamon, and ginger. It's even better than pumpkin spice! The chocolate chip cookies are a great sweet snack that are homemade and out of this world! Our go-to savory order is a turkey, egg, and cheese on croissant bread with the chipotle mayo. Always a great time at the Giddy Sloth!

A really sweet spot with friendly service, excellent Costa Rican coffee, and a small selection of empanadas & cookies. They also offer sandwiches on their lunch menu, but we'd just eaten so stuck with coffee and small snacks this visit. Pretty much standing room only inside, but there's outdoor seating in the courtyard. Lucky those who live right upstairs from this gem of a coffee shop because parking can be difficult. Even so it's 100% worth the trek.

The couple who own and operate Giddy Sloth are passionate about Costa Rican coffee and know it intimately. The coffee is as good as you will ever get, anywhere. Service is very friendly -- the Costa Rican "pura vida" vibe transplants nicely to Seattle. Options vary from modestly priced basic coffee drinks (around $4) to some true luxury choices (around $9). The rarer, high-end coffees vary. If you want to treat yourself to an unusually good coffee, ask "what do have that's special today?" -- odds are, there will be something unique for you to try that may not be on their menu. Pastries are homemade and delicious. Be kind about the small space, and street parking. The owners rented what they could afford for their start-up.

Wonderful addition to the neighborhood! Located below newly built apartments, with cute outdoor comfy seating for 3-4. Inside had a few seats as well. I met a friend for coffee and enjoyed the unique Costa Rica pour over (chorreado) experience and delicious guava pastry. The coffee was smooth, earthy, fresh, and unlike anything I've had before. The pastry was flaky and not too sweet. Try it warmed.

Really fun coffee options!! I got the coffee tonic which is an espresso, tonic, with passionfruit and honey. It changed the way I think about coffee. Super good. My partner got the Tapa Dulce (cap), the guy was super nice and made him a cappuccino style after he mentioned he loves capuccinos (so nice!) and it was absolutely delicious. This is what I crave now that hot cocoa has become too sweet for me as an adult. The milk foam is super yummy. Their sandwiches have some really fun condiments like tamarind ketchup and passion mustard. They were super good and apparently made in-house. They have a few seats indoor and a small bench and table set right outdoors next to the courtyard. Very pleasant and shaded. Glad to see these guys in the neighborhood! Will be back!

We're a couple of Kiwi (New Zealand) coffee snobs. And the coffee here is awesome. Perfect roast. Asked for an 8oz and the barista happily obliged. Forgot the pic of the coffee and guava turnover before we polished them off....so good. However...this salted chocolate cookie is phenomenal and matches the coffee perfectly. Highly recommended. Oh...and they have puppy treats. Happy dog!

The bad: they have 0 sugar free syrup options for their drinks. They also don't even have regular (sugared) vanilla syrup of any kind. (What kind of coffee shop doesn't carry vanilla??). The space is also incredibly cramped- there's only room for 2 people to stand inside (uncomfortably). The good: the latte I got was surprisingly (considering no sweetener) incredibly good.

Delicious coffee and delicious sandwiches! I recommend the tapa dulce latte and a sandwich with croissant bread it's sooo good. The people who work there are very nice and friendly, definitely my new favorite spot :))

Was so excited to see this new spot opening up close to me! Barista stated the espresso machine was having issues when ordering and that it might take a while. Waited 15+ minutes for the coffee and it was sadly such a disappointment.. i sadly will not be returning. If your machine wasn't working I would have rather been turned away and returned some other time.

I've never been somewhere that more fits the definition of a hidden gem. Very 'hole in the wall', small, family owned place with minimal seating, but incredible coffee, food, and baked goods.

Delightful in every way. Delicious food, friendly service, and the best coffee in the neighborhood by a long shot. (Or a short shot, if you prefer.)

Small shop with huge ambience, friendly vibes, great baristas, and delicious pastries. Unique and high quality coffee, great service, and expertise. This is well worth your time if you're a coffee lover or a lover of unique experiences. I do wish there was more space to sit and enjoy such fine wares, but they more than make up for it with their knowledge and amazing products. Highly recommended.
